BUG in 10.1.3.1? invalid Ant buildfile

Hi,
just wondering if there's a bug in jdev 10.1.3.1 when:
1/select a project
2/properties->ant
3/browse and select build.xml on the base project dir
4/ide does not recognise buildfile and displays error dialog "a valid ant buildfile must be specified", and the target list is still empty, though i have many targets defined..
Regards,
vienzo

The structure window then shows normally, all paths, targets and so on, and i can run them, but the problem is that i cannot run it from the main toolbar, because as i go into "manage ant settings", i cannot in any way make JDev to see my targets..
Thanks, Duncan, for sharing your experience with this issue. I'm more and more persuaded that it is some kind of bug, probably because of a ?system config?
Btw, i'm using JDev build 3984 of version 10.1.3.1.0

  • WS 3.2.1 - export ant buildfiles - no file produced

    I'm using WS 3.2.1 and am attempting to create a build file using the options "export > ant buildfiles".
    This brings up a "Generate Ant Buildfiles" dialog where the name of the file can be entered.
    There is a "next" button which is disabled and a "finish" button.
    When I click the "finish" button a pop-up windows is displayed for just a millisecond (to fast to read what it says) and no build file is created.
    Does this option actually work in WS 3.2.1?
    thanks for your assistance!

    There is no "Error Log" option under Window > Show View - but I guess that's another issue.
    In the log file we have the following:

  • BUG: SQL Developer no longer identifies invalid views version 1.1.3.2766

    I have a sql script which 'CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW' a view but unlike SQLDeveloper 1.1R2 which I am amending in a third party editor and loading via sqlplus the view is created with "Warning: View created with compilation errors."
    In 1.1R2 this would have displayed a view icon with a red cross in the navigator bar. This is no longer the case. All views appear to be valid.
    Regards
    Kris

    It appears that SQL Developer is not handling the INTERVAL data type when a NULL value is present, e.g: -
    This works OK:
    SELECT CAST('-0 0:0:0.400000000' AS INTERVAL DAY(3) TO SECOND(0))
    FROM dual;
    This does not:
    SELECT CAST(NULL AS INTERVAL DAY(3) TO SECOND(0))
    FROM dual;
    As a work around you can simply TO_CHAR the column:
    SELECT source,
    destination,
    comments,
    flags,
    owner,
    job_name,
    job_creator,
    client_id,

    run_count,

  • How to correctly import the jUnit classpath into an Ant buildfile on OS X

    Hi,-
    I'm trying to automate compilation with Ant & jUnit which I run from command-line on my Mac OS X. My source files are in the /src folder, test classes are in the /test folder, the .class files go into the /build folder, and junit38.jar is in the /lib folder. The build.xml file looks like this:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <project name="Money" default="build-source" basedir=".">
        <description>The Money project build file.</description>
        <property name="src" location="."/>
        <property name="build" location="build"/>
        <property name="junit" location="lib/junit38.jar"/>
        <path id="_classpath">
            <pathelement location="${junit}"/>
            <pathelement location="${build}"/>
        </path>
        <target name="prepare">
            <mkdir dir="${build}"/>
        </target>
        <target name="build-source" depends="prepare" description="compile the source ">
            <javac srcdir="${src}" destdir="${build}"/>
        </target>

    }it says "package org.junit does not exist" and I can't extend the TestCase class with my own test classes. Can anyone tell how to properly set the jUnit classpath?
    Much appreciated! Cheers, Vahagn

    I see what you mean. It now looks like this, but the error won't go away:
        <target name="build-source" depends="prepare" description="compile the source ">

    Yes, this is a bug in the Early Access release. This can happen, for example, if there is a library in your project whose name contains a character such as a colon, single quote, slash, backslash, parenthesis, question mark, etc. In that case changing the library name should work around the issue.

  • Bugs in jdoc and jdoclet Ant tasks?

    (The relevant lines in the build.xml file are at the end of this message.)
    I encountered a problem with the jdoc Ant task:
    - I added a description for a class in the metadata file. Everything rans
    fine. Then I added another class to the metadata file, when the jdoc task
    is invoked again by Ant the new class is not enhanced at all.
    - However when I run the jdoc on the metadata file outside Ant, the new
    class is enhanced.
    I can't run the jdoclet task at all because Ant complains that it can't
    find the class com.solarmetric.modules.integration.ant.KodoDocletTask.
    However it doesn't have any problem finding the class
    com.solarmetric.modules.integration.ant.JDOEnhancerTask. Aren't they both
    in the kodo-jdoee.jar? I also tried using the classpath element inside the
    target for the jdoclet without success.
    Thanks for your help.
    Here is an extract of the build.xml file:
    <!--Set the classpath-->
    <path id="classpath">
    <pathelement location="d:/books/JDO/KODO/kodo-jdoee2.3.3/lib/jdo1_0.jar"/>
    <pathelement
    location="d:/books/JDO/KODO/kodo-jdoee-2.3.3/lib/kodo-jdoee.jar"/>
    <pathelement location="C:\java\xdoclet-1.1.2\lib\xdoclet.jar"/>
    </path>
    <target name="taskdefs">
    <taskdef name="jdodoclet"
    classname="com.solarmetric.modules.integration.ant.KodoDocletTask"/>
    <!-- the above line causes an error -->
    <taskdef name="jdoc"
    classname="com.solarmetric.modules.integration.ant.JDOEnhancerTask"/>
    <!-- no problem with the above -->
    <target name="enhanceAll" depends="compile">
    <jdoc>
    <fileset dir="./classes/quocp">
    <include name="ent.jdo" />
    </fileset>
    <config licenseKey="<license key removed>" />
    <classpath refid="classpath"/>
    </jdoc>
    </target>

    Actually I did have a classpath issue, the xdoclet jar was not being
    included properly; once I got it included I now get this error:
    BUILD FAILED: java.lang.LinkageError: duplicate class definition:
    org/apache/log4j/Category
    I think the xdoclet is incompatible with the version of log4j I have....but
    I don't know for certain.
    So I tried moving to the latest and greatest xdoclet and now I get a new
    error (and it fails earlier):
    Finding class com.solarmetric.modules.integration.ant.JDODocletSubTask
    Exception reading component C:\dev2\java\devlib\kodo-jdo.jar
    BUILD FAILED: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
    com/solarmetric/modules/integration/ant/JDODocletSubTask
    One thing I have learned today is the -debug flag when running ant...very
    helpful in finding out where the failure is occuring.
    Any ideas you might have on how to proceed would be helpful...is there a way
    to run the xdoclet stuff without the ant tasks?
    Thanks,

    Steven-
    If you include the Kodo devel jars in your system CLASSPATH, does it
    work? I.e., is it a problem with the classpath, or with the XDoclet
    integration in general?
    In article <[email protected]>, Steven Balthazor wrote:
    I have followed these instructions to the letter; but I am unable to get
    the
    Doclet task to work in ant. Specifically my taskdef:

    <classpath refid="cp" />
    </taskdef>
    Generates the following error when running ant:
    BUILD FAILED: file:C:/dev2/java/devbuild.xml:54: taskdef class
    com.solarmetric.modules.integration.ant.KodoDocletTask cannot be found
    Now I would think this is a classpath problem; except if I change the
    taskdef to:
    <taskdef name="jdodoclet"
    classname="com.solarmetric.modules.integration.ant.SchemaToolTask">
    <classpath refid="cp" />
    </taskdef>
    I get a new error:
    BUILD FAILED: file:C:/dev2/java/devbuild.xml:56: The <jdodoclet> task
    doesn't support the nested "jdotags" element.
    This looks like it is finding the SchemaToolTask and failing in the
    implementation of jdodoclet. As far as I can tell, KodoDocletTask and
    SchemaToolTask are in the same jar. So what gives?
    I am using Kodo 2.5.2; and I have Xdoclet 1.1.2 in my classpath.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I'm guessing that the kodo jars are not in the classpath when you
    launch
    ant. If this is the case, then you must specify a classpath in your
    taskdef, and probably in the jdodoclet execution as well. You can do
    this with something like this:
    <target ...>
    <taskdef ...>
    <classpath refid="cp"/>
    </taskdef>
    <jdodoclet ...>
    <classpath refid="cp"/>
    </jdodoclet>
    </target>
    This assumes that you've defined a path somewhere in your ant buildfile
    with an id of 'cp'.

    This is a known bug which is fixed in WLS 6.1 SP2.
    The workaround is to change the complex data types
    to have more than one level package names.
    for eg: change ....
    package foo;
    class Data{}
    to :
    package foo.bar;
    class Data{}

  • Ant classpath in Jdeveloper

    Hi Guys,
    I am using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.3.0.4157. Ant is used to compile source and make war, ear files.
    Rececently, we encountered a problem because all jar files in ant library path <jdeveloper>/ant/lib are automatically added to the classpath for the javac task in ant script. There is a library called ant-oracle.jar, which is not from the original ant distribution, but from Oracle.
    1. Is there a way to disable this feature?
    it means not to add all jar files in ant library folder to classpath for javac task.
    2. Why the ant-oracle.jar is there?
    I tried to remove it from the folder and got an expcetion saying: class <xxxx> signer information does not match signer information of other classes in the same package.
    Thanks in advance,
    Steven

    This bug has been fixed for the Production Release. There is no manual fix I can give you for the Preview Release. When you say this is a compile-time error, do you mean that this is preventing you from compiling your project in some way? The error should just appear in the editor when you have the Ant buildfile open, and you should be able to safely ignore it.

  • Ant validator in JDeveloper 10.1.3 Preview (isset propertty)

    Typo on this Ant build.xml validator for the isset attribute! The validator is looking for 'propertty' instead of 'property' (two t's). Consequently, this generates compile time errors with no work-arounds... Is there a "manual" fix we can apply to the preview version?
    Thanks.

    Found solution after many hours of search and test:
    I have Launch2Net Premium 2.6.2 obn my system to get USB 3G Modem stick to work. It install many files into /System/Library/Extensions. All files are SierraDIPService.kext SierraFSPService.kext SierraDevSupport.kext.
    Remove SierraDIPService.kext from the above Extensions folder allow MobileDevice.pkg and othe installer that need to update system extension like soundflower.pkg to work properly.
    So, Sierra driveris the culprit!! I have to uninstall Launch2Net off my system. But my USB Stick Modem will not work anymore
    I have written to Nova System, the developer of Launch2Net to get fix to this problem
    Will update if there is any progess

  • Wlst bug ??

    I created a class in Python (Cluster) that has the properties name, and servers ( a list of Server classes). The server class has appropriate properties as well (name, port, etc.)
    when i loop through the class and call the
    create(_cluster.name, "Cluster") my cluster is created but i cannot access it using the wlst gui mode. in fact it displays as an infinite loop of clusters:
    Cluster
    |
    Cluster1
    |
    Cluster1
    and so on. However, it looks just fine in wlshell and in the normal server console. also i don't see this if i create the cluster by looping over a list of strings (only as a class). Can anyone make any sense out of this one?

    resolved...
    looks like I had some special characters (\n) in my string that were not properly stripped when parsing my properties file that cause this strange behavior. still might be a bug but is only related to invalid string data (presumably)
