Bug in setDomainEnv.cmd

I downloaded form http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/weblogic/downloads/index.html the ZIP package for Windows x86 (wls1035_dev.zip) and installed a domain following the steps in README.txt.
After that, in the domain directory, if I start the setDomainEnv.cmd script, it sets the WL_HOME and WLS_HOME variables wrong.
They are:
WLS_HOME=F:\wlserver\server
WL_HOME=F:\wlserver
When they should be:
WLS_HOME=F:\foo\prg\weblogic\wlserver\server
WL_HOME=F:\foo\prg\weblogic\wlserver
The first line of setDomainEnv.cmd sets WL_HOME correctly, but then later in the scrips it breaks it somewhere.
I use Sun Java 1.6.0_27 on Windows XP.
Regards,
David
PS: In the readme in step 5. Create a new WLS domain and start WLS.
it forgets to mention that the CWD should be changed to the newly created directory before starting the weblogic.Server

Does it get sorted if you uninstall the subject application ? If so..the problem lies with the application and not the phone ...
..but before that confirm that you are connected to the Internet .. You may try after rebooting the phone. Also un-install and re-install the application and try again ..

    Hi,
    Im also encountering the same problem. In my case, on our ACTUAL (PRODUCTION) server? coz im now migrating from our developemtn server with PORTAL 3.0.6 of 9iAS 1.0.2.0.0 to a PRODUCTION SERVER of PORTAL 3.0.9.8.2 (coz i already applied the patch) over 9iAS 1.0.2.2.1. Can u pls let me know where can i get the said tutorial, or pls let me know how did the tutorial deal with this problem, migrating a lower version of PORTAL to a target PORTAL of a different or a higher version.
    Hoping for your response.

  • NPE in stopWeblogic.cmd with Server Logging Bridge

    I'm migrating an EAR that depends on JDK logging to WLS 10.3.3. Stopping Derby Server...
    Steps to reproduce
    1. Create a logging.properties file with the following contents:
    # Specify the handlers to create in the root logger
    handlers = weblogic.logging.ServerLoggingHandler
    # Register handlers for my.app and their child loggers
    my.app.handlers = java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler, weblogic.logging.ServerLoggingHandler
    # Do not send the my.app log messages to the root handler
    my.app.useParentHandlers = false
    # Set the default logging level for the root logger
    .level = ALL
    # Set the default logging level for new ConsoleHandler instances
    java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.level = INFO
    # Set the default logging level for new FileHandler instances
    weblogic.logging.ServerLoggingHandler.level = ALL2. Add the following directive in the setDomainEnv.cmd:
    set JAVA_OPTIONS=%JAVA_OPTIONS% -Djava.util.logging.config.file=path/to/logging.properties3. Start-stop the domain and the above NPE occurs while WLS keeps running. Remove the directive from step 2 and the start-stop sequence goes back to normal.
    Environment
    Oracle JDK:
    java version "1.6.0_23"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_23-b05)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 19.0-b09, mixed mode, sharing)OS: Windows XP Pro SP3
    Your help would be very much appreciated! Please let me know if you need any additional info.
    Thanks,
    Bas

    Hi Sandeep,
    Thanks a lot for your quick reply! You were right, the logging directive was used both client and server side. I moved
    -Djava.util.logging.config.file=path/to/logging.propertiesfrom setDomainEnv.cmd to startWeblogic.cmd and WLS can be stopped correctly now.

  • CS4: how to change cmd+H function?

    Hi, I have recently got CS4 and one thing really bugs me, the cmd+H function has changed to ctrl+cmd+H.  It used to be used to show/hide frame edges but now cmd+H appears to have been taken over by the Mac system, to hide any and all applications. I'd like to change it back but I can't find how to change the keyboard setting - in either Indesign or Mac preferences. Which should I use?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated, it's a little thing but I used cmd+H ALL the time and am finding it a hard habit to break! Indesign constantly *disappearing* on me is proving frustrating to say the least!

    Tha's funny: googling for a solution I found these pages instead: Cmd-H Now the Mac InDesign Shortcut for "Hallelujah, It Hides" and Doing the right thing with Cmd-H (be sure to read the comments).
    So it seems enough people complained to Adobe to make them change their initial choice. Perhaps they'll change their mind again.

  • Configuration of startWebLogic / setDomainEnv files in 8.1

    I've been having some difficulty installing Documentum on Weblogic 8.1 on Windows Server 2003. The difficulties stem from the Documentum installer's assumption that there will be a single startWebLogic.cmd file present in the domain directory that contains a line where JAVA_HOME is set. However, I have noted that the particular configuration that I've created based on a development version of the Weblogic Platform domain contains two files - a startWebLogic file and a separate setDomainEnv.cmd file that is called from the startWebLogic file. I have also seen other configurations in which a setEnv.cmd file is produced instead of the setDomainEnv.cmd file. Does anyone know what the complete list of configuration files are for the various templates and configurations (production or development) that are produced by the Configuration Wizard, or alternatively, what makes the Configuration Wizard decided to include a direct reference to JAVA_HOME in some configurations or make a call to setDomainEnv in others? Thanks!

    Hi Anirban,
    The ESS code can be changed using <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/b4/139525380149a49c8402e22700e4ba/frameset.htm">FPM</a>.
    For more information can refer to this <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?threadID=78371">link</a> also.
    Hope this would be helpful.

    @REM This script is used to setup the needed environment to be able to start Weblogic Server in this domain.
    @REM
    @REM This script initializes the following variables before calling commEnv to set other variables:
    @REM
    @REM WL_HOME - The BEA home directory of your WebLogic installation.
    @REM JAVA_VM - The desired Java VM to use. You can set this environment variable before calling
    @REM this script to switch between Sun or BEA or just have the default be set.
    @REM JAVA_HOME - Location of the version of Java used to start WebLogic
    @REM Server. Depends directly on which JAVA_VM value is set by default or by the environment.
    @REM USER_MEM_ARGS - The variable to override the standard memory arguments
    @REM passed to java.
    @REM PRODUCTION_MODE - The variable that determines whether Weblogic Server is started in production mode.
    @REM DOMAIN_PRODUCTION_MODE
    @REM - The variable that determines whether the workshop related settings like the debugger,

  • Helps for WLP9.2 in a cluster:  deploy errors, propagation errors

    I wrote a document for our portal project's production support that details how to fix several recuring problems with WLP9.2 (GA) in cluster. I'm sharing this with the community as a help.
    Email me if you'd like updates or have additional scenarios / fixes or you'd like the word doc version.
    Curt Smith, Atlanta WLP consultant, [email protected], put HELP WLP as a part of the subject please.
    1     WLP 9.2 Environment
    The cluster environment where these symptoms are frequently seen is described by the following:
    1.     Solaris 9 on 4 cpu sparc boxes. 16Gb Ram. The VM is given ?Xmx1034m.
    2.     Bea private patch: RSGT, fixed cluster deployments.
    3.     Bea private patch: BG74, fixed session affinity, changed the session tracking cookie name back to the standard name: JSESSIONID.
    4.     IBM UDB (DB2) using the Bea DB2 driver. FYI: the problems described below I don?t feel have any relationship to the DB used for a portal.
    2     Common problems and their fixes
    2.1     Failed deploy (Install) of a new portal application via the cluster console.
    Problem symptoms:
    After clicking Finish (or) Commit the console displays that there where errors. All errors require this procedure.
    Fix steps:
    1.     Shut down the whole cluster. Using Bea?s shutdown script takes too long, or doesn?t work if the Admin is down or hung.
    a.     Find the PID to kill: lsof ?C | grep <listen port number>
    b.     kill <pid>
    c.     Run kill again and if the pid is still running then do: kill -9 <pid>
    2.     Admin server:
    a.     Remove file: <domain>/config/config.lok
    b.     Edit file: <domain>/config/config.xml
    c.     Remove all elements of: <app-deployment> ? </app-deployment>
    d.     Start the Admin server
    e.     Make sure it comes up in the running state. Use the console: servers ? admin ? control - resume if needed.
    3.     Both Managed servers:
    a.     cd <domain>/config
    b.     rm ?rf *
    This forces the re-down load of the cleaned up config.xml.
    c.     cd <domain>/servers/<managed_name>
    d.     rm ?rf tmp cache stage data
    This cleans up stale or jammed sideways deploys. Be sure to delete all three directorys: tmp, cache, stage and data.
    e.     Start each managed server.
    f.     Make sure the managed instance comes up in the running state and not admin. Go to server-<instance>-control-Resume to set the run state to running.
    You can now use the console to Install your applications.
    2.2     The portal throws framework / container exceptions on one managed instance.
    Problem symptoms:
    If you see exceptions from the classloader re a framework class not found, serialization failure or error etc. In general the symptom is that the container is not stable, running correctly, not making sense or your application works on one managed instance but not on the other.
    Fix steps:
    1.     Shut down the problem managed instance.
    2.     Perform these clean up steps on one or both managed instances:
    a.     cd <domain>/config
    3.     The libraries and applications should auto deploy as the managed instance comes up. Once the managed instance goes into the running state, or you Resume into the running state. Your application should be accessible. Sometimes it takes a few seconds after going into the running state for all applications to be instantiated.
    2.3     Content propagation fails on the commit step.
    Problem symptoms:
    In the log of the managed instance you specified in the propagation ant script you?ll see exceptions regarding not being able to create or instantiate a dynamic delegated role.
    There is an underlying bug / robustness issue with WLP9.2 (GA) where periodically you can?t create delegated roles either with the PortalAdmin or via the propagation utility.
    Important issue:
    This procedure was supplied by Bea which will remove from the internal LDAP and the portal DB your custom / created roles. This will leave your cluster in the new installation state with just the default users and roles: weblogic and portaladmin. The implications are that you?ll have to boot your cluster with console user: weblogic / weblogic. You can then add back your secure console user/password but you?ll have to do this over and over as propagations fail. The observed failure rate is once every 2-3 weeks if you do propagations daily.
    Note:
    The following assumes that you left the default console user weblogic password to be the default password of: weblogic. The following procedure deletes the local LDAP but leaves the rows in the DB.users table including the SHA-1 hashed passwords. The following procedure should still work if you changed the password for weblogic, but it probably won?t work if you try to substitute your secure console user/pw because there will be no delegated authorization roles mapping to your custom console user. You might experiment with this scenario.
    Fix steps:
    2.     Admin server:
    a.     Remove directory: <domain>/servers/AdminServer/data/ldap
    b.     Run this SQL script after you edit it for your schema:
    delete from yourschema.P13N_DELEGATED_HIERARCHY;
    delete from yourschema.P13N_ENTITLEMENT_POLICY;
    delete from yourschema.P13N_ENTITLEMENT_RESOURCE;
    delete from yourschema.P13N_ENTITLEMENT_ROLE;
    delete from yourschema.P13N_ENTITLEMENT_APPLICATION;
    commit;
    c.     Start the Admin server
    d.     Make sure it comes up in the running state. Use the console: servers ? admin ? control - resume if needed.
    3.     Both Managed servers:
    a.     cd <domain>/servers/<managed_name>
    b.     rm ?rf data
    This forces the re-down load of the LDAP directory.
    c.     Start each managed server.
    d.     Make sure the managed instance comes up in the running state and not admin. Go to server-<instance>-control-Resume to set the run state to running.
    2.4     The enterprise portal DB fails and needs to be restored OR switch DB instances
    Restoring a portal DB or switching existing DBs are similar scenarios. The issues that you?ll face with WLP9.2 since it now uses a JDBCauthenticator to authenticate and authorize the console / boot user you need to first be able to connect to the DB before the admin and managed instances can boot. If you haven?t properly encrypted the DB user?s password in the <domain>/config/jdbc/*.xml files, then you?ll not be able to boot the admin server since you won?t be able to create a JDBC connection to the DB. The boot messages are not clear as to what the failure is.
    You?ll need to know an Admin role user and password that?s in the DB you?re wanting to connect to, to put into boot.properties and on the managed instances in their boot.properties or startManaged scripts. Don?t forget that the managed instances have local credentials which is new for 9.2. They are in the startManaged script in clear text or a local boot.properties.
    Note:
    The passwords in the DB are SHA-1 hashed and there is no SHA-1 hash generator tool so you can?t change a password via SQL, but you can move the password from one DB to another. This is possible because the domain encryption salt is not used to generate the SHA-1 string. As it turns out, the SHA-1 string is compatible with all 9.2 cluster domains. IE the domain DES3 salt has nothing to do with password verification. The same password SHA-1 string taken from different domains or even same domain but different users will be different, this is just a randomization put into the algorithm yet every domain will be able to validate the given password against the DB?s SHA-1 string. Because of this, I?ve not had any problem moving DB instances between clusters, especially if I?ve given up on security and use weblogic/weblogic as the console user and this user / pw is in every DB.
    Steps:
    The assumption for restoring a DB is that the DB has been restored but it?s an older version and doesn?t have the console user/pw that is in boot.properties. At this point swaping a DB is the same as restoring an old version of the portal DB.
    1.     Edit the console user and password as clear text into: <domain>/servers/AdminServers/security/boot.properties
    This is where you may give in and use weblogic/weblogic.
    2.     Set the correct DB access password encryption in the jdbc/*.xml files.
    a.     cd <domain>/bin
    b.     . ./setDomainEnv.sh or if you?re on windows just run: setDomainEnv.cmd
    c.     java weblogic.security.Encrypt <the_db_password>
    d.     Edit the returned string into every <domain>/config/jdbc/*.xml
    e.     Make sure the *.xml files point to the correct DB host, port, schema, DB name, DB user.
    3.     Start the Admin server. I should come up. If it doesn?t it has to be not being able to create a connection to the DB, which depends on the *.xml having the correct user and DES-3 encrypted password.
    4.     Edit the new console user/password on the managed instance bin/startManaged script or the local boot.properties.
    5.     Start the managed instances.
    2.5     Install patches on a host that does not have internet access
    The short description is to run smart update on a host that does have internet access. Fetch out of the <domain>/utils/bsu/cache_dir     directory the downloaded patch jar and xml. Manually apply the patch to your non-internet accessible hosts.

    Hi Ashish,
    Thank you for your reply regarding this issue. As per your resolution, I have added the below line at the end of the file before end LOCal
    command
    call "%DOMAIN_HOME%\bin\setDomainEnv.cmd" %*
    still am unable to startup the soa server . am facing the below error message from soa_server log file.
    Actually earlier without adding the above line i was able to deploy sample BPEL ( Synchronous service ) and test the service.
    thanks in advance.

  • Users prompted to log in to view public pages

    I have a page in my app called "publicHome.jspx". It has a pageDef file for it. In the Application | Secure | Resource Grants, I've granted View access to that page to the "anonymous-role" role. This should mean that anyone can view the page without being prompted to log in.
    However, when users go to that page, they are redirected to the login page to log in. This is the problem; this is not expected behavior.
    I've found that if I remove the pageDef file for publicHome.jspx, then users can go to the page without being prompted to log in. This is expected behavior, since pages without a pageDef file are not secured by ADF.
    If I then create a new pageDef (empty, with no bindings), then re-grant View permissions to "anonymous-role", users are prompted to log in once again. (The problem is repeatable.)
    This does NOT happen on the Embedded WebLogic Server that comes with JDev (v11.1.1.5.0, BTW). It only happens when we deploy it to a standalone WebLogic (v10.3.5) server. I've tried deploying it to multiple standalone WL servers - it fails on all of them. (So, it doesn't seem to be a problem with my WL setup.) And, to really make it worse, it used to work - something changed to cause this, and I can't figure out what!
    I've verified that the "anonymous-role" is NOT defined in my jazn-data.xml file, since I know that triggers an endless loop bug.
    I'll be happy to post any config files that might be of use - just let me know which ones you'd like to see.
    Thanks in advance for any help!
    Karl

    Hi,
    can you try starting the stand alone WLS instance in development mode (which makes it to be the same as the embedded server).
    See
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs100/medrec_tutorials/devmode.html
    See: Step 2: Edit the server startup file.
    In a command-line shell, move to the root directory of the MedRec domain:
    Open the setDomainEnv.cmd (Windows) or setDomainEnv.sh (UNIX) script in a text editor:
    Look for the line that sets the PRODUCTION_MODE script variable:
    set PRODUCTION_MODE=false

    Re: ALDSP 2.1 QName problem
    To enable interop from 9.x client to DSP 2.1 server, follow the following steps.
    1. Put ${WL_HOME}/liquiddata/lib/wls90interop.jar in PRE_CLASSPATH on
    2.1 server by editing setDomainEnv.cmd
    2. Put ${WL_HOME}/liquiddata/lib/wls90interop.jar in workshop's classpath
    by modifying -cp key's value in Workshop.cfg
    3. Build the application inside the workshop.
    4. Build the client side jar using ${WL_HOME}/liquiddata/bin/ld_clientapi.xml
    with following arguments on the command line:
    -Dapproot=<application directory>
    -Dxbeanjarpath=${WEBLOGIC9x}/server/lib/xbean.jar
    5. Copy ${WL_HOME}/liquiddata/lib/wlsdo90interop.jar, ld-client.jar and
    <appName>-ld-client.jar in WEB-INF/lib or classpath of the 9.x side.
    Since network classloading is turned off in any WebLogic server, we need to copy wlsdo.jar and ld-client.jar on the client side.
    Also added the flag -Dcom.sun.xml.namespace.QName.useCompatibleSerialVersionUID=1.0 on the startup of the server (JDK 1.50_12 which is used WLP 9.2.3). We also downgraded the JVM version (JDK 1.5.0_06) for WLP server (as explained in the BUG to JDK 1.5.0_06.)
    Now we are getting another issue:
    Here is the exception observed:

    I don't know what the .ser file is that it is complaining about, but if it contains an (old) serialized QName object, you'll get that exception on an attempt to de-serialize it into a new QName object. Did you try rebuilding your app like the error message suggests?
    You can also try :
    @ Also, In 1.5 JDK, the javax.xml.namespace.QName class is bundled in
    @ jre/lib/rt.jar. If you have to replace that in your classpath, you should be
    @ pre-pending the wls90interop.jar to the bootClasspath.
    @ For eg, in my wls9.2, i set the classpath as follows:
    @ -Xbootclasspath/p:D:/releases/81sp5platform/weblogic81/liquiddata/lib/wls90int
    @ erop.jar

  • Trouble deploying on weblogic 8.1 SP5

    My application uses a UI tree component.
    We tested a simple application and deployment went fine. The app works fine.
    Then comes the real application which uses a tree component.

    Hi Sandeep,
    Thanks a lot for your quick reply! You were right, the logging directive was used both client and server side. I moved
    -Djava.util.logging.config.file=path/to/logging.propertiesfrom setDomainEnv.cmd to startWeblogic.cmd and WLS can be stopped correctly now.

  • Javelin Compiler error

    We are experiencing Javelin nullPointer exceptions thrown when executing on the
    local PC. I wrote a simple JPF and one JSP with a fileUpload tag. The only time
    it ran was after I completely unloaded and re-installed WLS v8.1 sp2 and Workshop.
    The server starts up fine but running the JPF hangs the test browser and after
    a long wait throws this Javelin exception>
