Bug in Template forms ??

Wondering if anyone else hit this problem.
Running Apex 4.1.0.00.32
Login to Workspace, Goto Application Builder /Choose any application
Then goto Shared Components/Templates.
Click on any template preview - first time it works fine and shows the template layout in a pop-up - click on another template to preview and it goes back to the workspace login screen and you have to relogin to the whole thing. It looks like it is losing the session id - first thought it might be a reverse proxy issue - but tried same thing on apex.oracle.com and get same problem.
Looks like a bug - anyone come across this as well ?

tried it with 2 different themes - theme 6 & theme 23 - same behaviour for both - so yes - preview one template for example a page template - then close the pop-up window and then click on the preview icon to preview another one immediately afterwards and it opens pop-up straight to the login screen and thereafter I need to login to APEX again before I can do anything else.
What versions of Apex are you using ?

Bug in Oracle Forms 9i triggers

I've found a bug in oracle forms 9i. It happens when you have a select query inside a when-validate-item trigger and in that query you opt to show an alert when the query has encountered an exception...
When that trigger is fired, the alert will show even if the query returns a record(which means that it does not go through the exception). The solution is to recompile the said trigger.
Is this bug present in the other versions of Oracle forms?
Is there a patch for this bug?

I've consulted with some of my colleagues who have been using Oracle forms for more than 5 years now, and they said that the bug seems to randomly appears...The code works fine in the local environemnt (forms builder) and in the AS itself (compiled in Unix) but after sometime, the bug appears and they just compiled the trigger where the code of the alert is in...
Is there any logical explanation of why compiling a trigger (without changing any code) solves this problem?

Copy all the library files from $AU_TOP/Resources and template.fmb and appstand.fmb from $AU_TOP/forms/US to same local directory.
Set FORM60_PATH in the REGEDIT as C:\orant\TOOLS\OPEN60\PLSQLLIB;D:\Local Directory. Local Directory means where you copied lib files and template form.
Open template in form6i and rename the template form. Do the customizations what ever you want.

Error While running Oracle Look and feel Template Form - (LAF_TEMPLATE)

JRE version 1.6.0_30
Operating System Windows XP
I am trying to setup oracle look and feel project on my local machine.
For that i upgraded forms to 10.1.2.3 then i also applied path no *9593176* (But not yet performed steps related to jacob and webutil).
Problem : When i run Oracle look and feel template form it comes up with following error.*

Template form is giving error in R12

Hi All,
We are trying to run the template form from apps R12.But it is giving error as 'frm-40735: On error trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-06508'.we tried out by compiling all .pll and all invalid objects in database .All .pll is compiled by using ADADMIN.only template.fmb is not working even APPSSAND.fmb is also working fine.We are in critical possition pls any body knows please help us.

Sorting unstructured resume info into a template form

Hi
I need to write a java program that can read the various info in a resume e.g. "degree from XX university" which are apparently unstructured and place it into a structured template form.
This is supposed to work for all kinds of resumes.
Searched the web but they are mainly about XML.
I am thinking of writing program that speed up the process instead of going through the database first, although that may slow down the process.
What is the best way to use Java to do this? Any idea?
If it has to involve a database, any idea on the most efficient method to achieve my objective?

What is "Template Form" file?

I was asked to send a magazine company a PDF or JPG of a logo that must be in a "template form". I already sent a high-res PDF, EPS, and JPG file with white background knocked out, but they requested the same thing again, only in a this "template form" - I have no idea what they are talking about.
I thought these Template Forms were Microsoft related files...or something. Can I 'save as' this form in AI?
Any guidance is truly appreciated.

If you look at the form of the standard object library (OFGWEBOL.fmb) you will see that there is no code (except for a few program units). The OL is really meant for look and feel kind of stuff.
Also, it is far easier to maintain code in a pll library.

HST 6.0 - QMSREP object in template form

THe qmstpl50 template form has a report object called QMSREP in it.
What is the purpose of that object? Is it linked somehow with the report launch functionality?

Template Forms

1. What is the correct method of creating a template form and inheriting the template form for User interface consistency?
I want to use the REMOVE PATH method and somehow it does not seem to work... Please help me someone...
2. I am confused as to how to start... What standard triggers (and objects) should I use in my template form?

1. standard's in your Template form
You have to create some property clases , visual attributes, an example block and
standard triggers for key strokes and the related code for those triggers. You can also have some general program units in which you can standsize the window settings.
If you look in the Oracle Tools dir where Oracle is installed you will find some examples for templates.
2. When you say remove path Oracle will look in your Forms40_path variable as where to go and look for the referenced objects.
So, where ever you are saving your files the name of that dir should be appended in that path.
NT : path can be found by going to REGEDIT
95 : It is set in the .ini file in Oracle Bin

Bug?: Tabular Form function "addRow" can't handle multi-line Row Templates

Hi all,
i created a custom Report Template (Named Column Row Template) which creates 2 lines per Record (which in fact is 2 rows in a HTML table).
In the APEX function initTabForm (apex_4_0.js) the sample row (f01_0000) is read and stored in gTabFormInitRow
This is done by using a jQuery Selector like this: jQuery('#init_row_'+pRegionID) which returns only the first row of my multiline record.
Is this behaviour intended or is it a bug? Or do i have to change my HTML structure?

A table per row has the disadvantage of loosing the automatic column width, i would have to set the column width to a fixed value to maintain a nice look.

Bug in Headstart form template qmstpl65

Found that the CG$CURRENT_RECORD visual attribute is defined w/ a foreground color of BLUE and a background color of BLUE in the qmstpl65.fmb file. Effectively making this BLUE text on BLUE background which won't work if you set the record to utilize this attribute for current record in a multi-record display.

Designer generates the ON-ERROR block level trigger. It has
execution style of BEFORE. Therefore, both the block level and
form level ON-ERROR triggers will fire.
Normally, in the block level trigger, Designer will generate
calls to its own message handling package to display any
constraint errors. However, Designer also allows you to specify
your own custom message handling package.
The package must contain:
- a procedure called PUSH
- a function called MSGGETTEXT, and
- a procedure called RAISE_FAILURE.
The preference MSGSFT, Package Used for Messaging, allows you to
record the name of the custom package.
Once you have recorded this in the preference, whenever you
generate a form, Designer will use your package and procedures
for its error handling code. That is why you see calls to
Headstart specific code in the block level ON-ERROR triggers.
If you want to customize the ON-ERROR triggers, you need to make
sure you understand how the MSGSFT preference is used. Read the
online help. Then, you can customize individual blocks by adding
application logic to the block, or you can add your own ON-ERROR
trigger to the object library in the CG$BLOCK object.
However, be warned that the Headstart error handling mechanism
depends on this code. Depending on what you do, you could end up
breaking things.

SS8: bug with templates & static?

First, I have to say that my core problem
is compiling the boost (1_31_0) library
Spirit.
The real error is

With my code, I tried to show the problem in a condensed form,
but it doesn't point out the real problem, which is far more subtile, I think.
Further, I have few other problems compiling this libray with SS8 for which I have found my
own workarounds. The authors of Spirit made the decision to not support any compiler
"not conform" to the standard for further development.
So the final question to answer is: Is it planned to support the Boost libraries in the near future?
Would be nice to get a definite answer in order to plan myself's further development.

Pages '09 Templated Forms Not Printing in Pages 5.5.2

I have an older Macbook Pro (circa 2009) running OSX 10.10.2 and Pages 5.5.2. I am connected to a Canon MX320 printer. While running my iWorks 09 version of Pages, I created a template that allowed me to print customizable checks. I setup a template with customized settings (2.75" X 6.0" paper, 0" margins on all sides). I would open the check "form", enter the payee, amounts, date, memo, then place the blank check into the printer and the check would print. Since I upgraded OSX and Pages, my template no longer works. The blank check slides through the printer with no printing being done. I have tried changing the orientation and paper dimensions but I am unable to print with the defined paper size. It will print with a larger sized paper (it doesn't seem to recognize the small form size). I seek possible solutions.

Then if you have exhausted all possible tests and printer drivers, go with what works, use Pages '09 and get a bonus 100+ features.
Or switch to another application that does the job and has a long term future (hint not Pages 5).

2 Bugs in PDF Form Field Rendering

Both of these bugs appear when "Show border hover color for fields" is on.
In XObject streams used for Text Widget Annotation appearences the BMC operator does not properly respect whitespace. To reproduce:
Create a fillable form field with a text widget annotation.
Fill in text in the field, save the document
Edit the content stream of the appearance stream used for the widget so that there are two spaces between /Tx and BMC instead of 1. Be sure to shorten the content stream by 1 byte (shorten a string by a byte or remove a leading 0 in a decimal) when making the change so as not to change offsets. Save the file.
Open the file in Acrobat and note the text doesn't appear. Turn "Show border hover color for fields" off and the text appears.
In XObject streams used fo all WidgetAnnotations, the general color operators, CS, cs, SC, and sc are not respected.
Create a fillable form field that uses /DeviceGray SC 0 sc to set the text color (this can be done by create a text field and filling it with a lot of repeating non-white space characters and then replacing the 0 g with /DeviceGray 0 sc then shortening the text string to keep the stream length the same. Save the file.
When the file is opened in Acrobat, the field will appear blank until "Show border hover color for fields" is turned off.
An example file is here.
This file has several fields, two which are prefilled. The first field contains filled in text but does not show (it appears when you turn off "Show border..."). The second is visible.
By editing the raw data, the second field (object 13 0) can be changed to exhibit both bugs. To exhibit the BMC bug, insert a second space between /Tx and BMC and remove a space elsewhere. The exhibit the second bug (after restoring BMC), change both "0 g" and "1 g" with "/DeviceGray cs 1 sc" and "/DeviceGray cs 0 sc" respectively (there is enough blank spaces to do that).
