Bug on installing Version 1.5.1
After downloaded new version and started (without any previous settings) it return errors messages like this:

Hi I have the same error on my windows 2000 VM ware: As you see below I use the E drive and C drive for the software. I checked all paths and it looks fine. The error is not so critical but annoying.

I updated to new ios and now it is not syncing properly. New songs are not showing up on the ipod display but when I view the device on my computer, they are in the playlist but there is a dashed circle beside the missing songs. It previously synced perfectly before the IOS update. How can i revert back to the previous installed version?

I installed Version 4, and then Version 5, and now at least once a day I get a notice to update to Version 3.1.11. I get this on my office computer and also at home. Why is this happening and how can I stop it?
I had to wait until it happened again, but it finally did, and I solved the problem. Boy was I stupid! It wasn't a plugin, it was ''Thunderbird'' 3.1.11. And I never noticed! Thank you all

I was attempting to confirm that a Jar file I
was deploying, was 1.4 compatible.
The test failed, because despite that the (1)
user who attempted it had a working 1.4.2 install,
the JNLP file (which declared version='1.4'),
was prompting for a download. The user was
not prepared to do that, understandably -
that was exactly what I was trying to avoid
doing, myself.
Since then, I did further testing locally -
trying to get a 1.5 launch when my current
Java is 1.6 - I have a number of 1.5 versions.
No request for '1.5', '1.5.0_08' or '1.5*' worked
(OK - that last one was just a WAG*), every time
I was prompted for download (which also failed,
as an aside!).
What am I getting wrong?
Do I misunderstand the intent of the j2se element
finding earlier verions? Is it only versions that
were installed by web start?
Is my understanding of how to use the version
attribute, incorrect?

JRE's listed in the Java control panel
(of an XP Pro box) and see they had no
checkmark for 'enabled'.
After enabling 1.5.0_08, I was successfully
able to launch the application (OK - applet

As an aside, I had to specify '1.5.0_08'
exactly to get that JRE. This is fine for
local testing, but sometimes it is handy
to ask others to help test via the web,
and it would be nice if I could make it less
specific (e.g. '1.5', to get any installed
and enabled JRE that is a 1.5 variant)
Do I understand wrong? Should that work,
to specify '1.5' and get a '1.5.0_08' JRE that

I have a white 17' flat panel g5 imac power pc, I recently bought used. It had OS 10.5.8. Due to a storm the hard drive was damaged and I replace with new hd.
I did not get a system disc or other support discs with the machine. How or where can I find or download a new-install version of OS 10.5 or up to 10.5.8 that will work with the PPC? Thanks.Call the Apple Store and ask them to sell you a copy, you can then use the combo updater or you can buy a copy on eBay, but make sure it's the black retail copy and not a grey machine specific disc.

First I found the private/var/folders/ (and then lots of gibberish folders) and singled out two garageband files and deleted them. This did not work.
I then deleted everything which may or may not be a good thing, I am an idiot, I have no idea if these are extremely important files or not!
I tried to empty the trash bin after but many files was locked and Garageband would still not install.
I did a restart of the computer, emptied the bin successfully and tried to install Garageband again and it worked fine!
The inserted picture show some of the folder structure, I deleted everything after private/var/folders/ -

Need to reinstall Photoshop CS2 but it can't find a previously installed version so won't reinstall
Photoshop CS2 told me there was a "major problem" and that I would need to reinstall the software to continue using it.
So I used the installer CD, but it told me it could not install because there was already a copy installed, which would need to be removed.
So I removed the old version and tried to reinstall but now it tells me it needs a previously installed version in order to reinstall.
Adobe "customer service"chat is 100% useless on this, referred me to the 800 #, been on hold for over 45 miinutes now, and no relevant topics found on "help" forums.
For a multibillion dollar monopoly, you'd think they could hire a couple of customer service reps but I guess it's all DIY "support" here, so can anyone help?So, you are NOT trying to reinstall an upgrade, but a purchased version (not in an upgrade path from one version to the next)?
If that is correct, there should be no request for a "previously installed version." That only appears when one is installing an upgrade.
Are you installing from physical media (a DVD), or from a download?

It can be that you have an old version of Photoshop Elements and a new camera.

I rented a Nikon D600 & D610 and CS5 cannot open the RAW files, i do not have any issued with my D700 RAW files. I am getting this error message -
Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.

The error message you gave is from Camera Raw. I thought you said that DNG Converter didn't work?
The link I gave you is an article on getting your raw files to open in Camera Raw. Did you read it? I lazily gave you the link because this is one of the most common problems in this forum, and I get tired of saying the same thing over and over again. I could break it down for your specific case, but I was hoping you could read through the article and work it out for yourself.
But, here goes:
Your cameras are newer than your raw converter, so it won't understand them.
CS5 comes with Camera Raw 6, which can only be upgraded as far as 6.7.1. You can find out which version of Camera Raw you are running in three ways: in the settings title bar (Cmd-K), in the plug-in title bar (press F to start/stop full-screen mode to reveal the title bar), or Photoshop's Help menu (About Plug-ins).
Downloading raw files from newer Nikon cameras with old versions of Nikon Transfer will actually make them unreadable in Adobe software. They can be fixed with a free utility. Again, it's all in the linked article. You should be using up-to-date Nikon Transfer, or Adobe Photodownloader to avoid this problem.
All being well, you have good raw files on your computer. You can convert them to dng using Adobe DNG Converter. IF you are on OSX Leopard or Snow Leopard, you CAN'T use the latest version, because Adobe stopped support. But, if you ARE on a later OSX, you can download DNG Converter 8.6.
DNG Converter is designed to convert FOLDERS of raw files at a time. You select a folder of raw files, and tell it to create DNG copies. BUT, you have to set up the converter before you start using it...
If you load up DNG Converter, you'll notice a button labelled "Change Preferences". Clicking this, you'll see the first option is "Compatibility". Here, you must select the appropriate setting for the version of Camera Raw you HAVE (see above). If you can't work this out, just pick "Camera Raw 5.4 and later". THEN pick a folder of raw files and convert them to DNGs.
All the above is already in the article, but I gave you a personalised response. If you still can't get it to work, please give us more than one sentence. Tell us exactly what you tried, and describe exactly what happened. Which version of OSX you're running, what device and software you downloaded your raw files with, how you used DNG Converter, and so on.

just got a Nikon D610 and CS5 for Mac can't open the images -- message says installed version of camera raw doesn't support the camera. Downloaded the Raw 6.2 update for Mac, but installation failed. Now what?
The D610 didn't get out-of-the-box RAW support until Photoshop CC.
You can either upgrade to CC or use the DNG Converter to convert and open your DNGs in CS5. -

Running "sudo /usr/share/mailman/bin/check_perms -f" from the command line should resolve this issue. It should be noted that anytime you run repair permissions it re-breaks the mailman permissions and the command has to be run again.

Installing version 11.4.402.278
When I install Flash 11.4.402.278 on a new Windows 7 64bit OS and then open IE9 it freezes. Once I remove Flash or use an earlier version, IE works fine.

This is a clean install. Have a base image of Win7 64bit with, Office 201 (32bit), Standard Acrobat 10.x and Winzip.
I reimage the disk and install the current Flash. I add the computer to the Domain and I login as the god user for the domain and IE9 works fine.
When I log in as a regular user, he is in the local Administrator group at this time, IE9 freezes and will not complete the startup routine. I go in to IE9 and disable the Plugin, then it works. Turn the plugin back on and it fails. Installing version 11.3.x and it works fine. -
