Bug report - font disappear in the component tree

bug report - font disappear in the component tree
thanks
from Peter ([email protected])

Any more information? Does this always happen? Sometimes?
Does it depend on the font used in Eclipse?
Does it depend on the Eclipse theme used?
What distro/version of Linux are you using? What window manager?

  • How to construct the component tree in my custom component?Help!

    Hi, i am writing a custom component like this:
    public class HtmlCategory extends HtmlPanelGrid
         public void processRestoreState(javax.faces.context.FacesContext context,
                java.lang.Object state)
              setColumns(1);
              HtmlCommandLink link=new HtmlCommandLink();
              link.setValue("Let's Bingo");
              MyUtil.setActionListener(context,link,"#{temp.mytest}");
              UIParameter param=new UIParameter();
              param.setName("name");
              param.setValue("Robin!");
              link.getChildren().add(param);
              param.setParent(link);
              getChildren().add(link);
              link.setParent(this);
              super.processRestoreState(context,state);
    }         you see, i want to construct the compont tree at Restore View phase this way,because the structure of the component tree will always be the same, so i don't the user to write extra code.
    But the children of the component are not rendered,the renderer of the HtmlCategory component just extends the HtmlGridRenderer(myfaces) directly,and always calls the "super" methods in the encode methods of the renderer.
    I got a message from the console:
    Wrong columns attribute for PanelGrid id0:id4: -2147483648
    but i have set the columns attribute in the code above, so what's happening? or please give some advice about how to render the component tree by myself in Restore View with the tree constructing code in the custom component class code,just lke the code above.
    Best Regards:)
    Robin

    Well, i don't know if i have got my question clear.
    usually, according to the tags you use in the jsf page, a component tree will be created at the Restore View phase,for example:
    <f:form>
      <h:panelGrid ...........>
              <h:dataTable ................>
              </h:dataTable>
       </h:panelGrid>
    </f:form>but because i am writing a component for my web app, all the child components and their attributes are not likely to change. so i want to reduce the tags into one custom tag, and construct the component tree internally by myself.But it is not the case of backing bean.So i wrote the the code in the method:
    public void processRestoreState(javax.faces.context.FacesContext context,java.lang.Object state)as it is shown in my orginal message.But it seems that it is not right way to construct my component tree.So where should i put the code that construct the component tree?Overriding the method :
    public void processRestoreState(javax.faces.context.FacesContext context,java.lang.Object state)is not the right way?
    Best Regards:)

  • Where/How do I programmatically build the component tree?

    Hi! I'm having a lot of problems trying to make my JSF application work...
    Here's the situation:
    - I have to display a form (questionnaire) consisting of a tree (form - subforms - sections - groups - questions - checkboxes/dropdowns...). Each of these parts are custom components, with custom renderers.
    - This display is only a small part of a wider application (so the custom ViewHandler solution seems impossible to me), and it is done in an imported jsp (using <jstl:import ...>). In this jsp, there is only one component, representing the "root" of the questionnaire, because the structure of the questionnaire is unknown at the beginning.
    - I need to build programmatically (in Java) the component tree of my questionnaire (according to the structure loaded from a database) and integrate it in the component tree of the whole application.
    - The problem is I can't get this to work properly in the JSF lifecycle (either the restoreState/saveState methods aren't called, or the "main" tree doesn't contain my "sub-tree" although everything is rendered properly...). I searched on a lot of forums, I tried a lot of solutions (new UIComponent() vs. application.createComponent(...) / create the tree in the component constructor vs. in the component renderer... ) but none of them seemed to meet my requirements, since it seems to be a tricky situation.
    So, does anyone knows how to achieve this? How and where to build my component tree?
    (ask me if a you need more information about my code!)
    Thanks in advance!!
    Adriano

    Bit_happens wrote:
    - I'm using the "createComponent" method to build my tree (instead of just calling the component constructor), is that right? For example:
    UISubform subformComponent = (UISubform) application.createComponent(UISubform.TYPE);
    //UISubform subformComponent = new UISubform();What is the difference with the plain constructor call?You are not implementation dependent then.
    - Apparently, I have to explicitly add the panelGroup to the component tree, or else it won't be part of the tree. Is that normal? Shouldn't JSF add it to the tree automatically when it finds it in the JSP? I have to do the following:
    UIComponent parent = facesContext.getViewRoot().findComponent("form_subview").findComponent("main_form");
    parent.getChildren().add(panel);
    panel.setParent(parent);- Is there a difference between creating the "sub-tree" in an ascending way, or in a descending way? I.e. first creating the leaves and then going up the branches until I plug the root component into the main tree, or first creating the root component and then going down the branches until all the leaves are created?No, there isn't.
    - I think my custom components themselves should be right, and they're declared in faces-config. It looks like the panelGroup doesn't renders its children, but it should by default, right? When I look at the rendered page source code, the panelGroup is empty:
    <span id="form_subview:main_form:formPanel"></span>- Do you think of anything else I should check? Any tricky setting I could have forgot?Try adding existing components to the panelGroup, e.g. HtmlOutputText. If that works, then I rather think there is a flaw in your component.

  • Manipulating the component tree at runtime

    How is it possible to add components into a form at runtime. I need to create role specific menues after login. I have tried adding new children to the form object but they do not seem to render.

    in a short word, when is the rendered attribute value processed?is it part of the request map, and at Restore View Phase when restore the component tree, the inputText component will not be restored,and is this the reason the new name value is not applied?
    But if i change the editable attribute in the same class( User.java) with the name attribute,and change the jsf code like this:
    <h:selectBooleanCheckbox value="#{user.editable}" onclick="submit()"></h:selectBooleanCheckbox>
          <h:inputText  value="#{user.name}" rendered="#{user.editable}" required="true"></h:inputText>
          <h:outputText value="#{user.name}" rendered="#{not user.editable}"></h:outputText>The new value is applied!!
    Please give some suggestion, and many many thanks:)
    Best Regards:)

  • Modifying the component tree in FacesListener

    Hi,
    I want to modify the component tree of every page that is accessed within my JSF application. For example, say I want to remove one component(id is known) from every page that is accessed. Obviously, I don't want to edit the page manually.
    I wrote and configured a FacesListener which will be executed during the RESTORE_VIEW phase. In the afterPhase() method, I get the view root from FacesContext. I traverse down to the component with the given Id and remove it from its parents child list. But it doesn't get removed. The component is rendered. Even trying to chage its value or adding a new component doesn't work. Basically any modification done to the tree after the RESTORE_VIEW phase in the FacesListener is not reflected in the rendered output.
    Is it the right phase to modify the view?
    Thanks,
    Siva

    There is a typo in my question. I mean PhaseListener not FacesListener.

  • How to adjust the Fonts to fit the component

    The size of the text is much smaller than the size of the button. But when I put the letters onto the button, they are not properly shown. Instead of showing the whole letters, they become "..." on the button. I can not see them at all unless I make the window/frame to its full size.
    How to adjust the Fonts or the properties of the components?
    Thanks.

    The best way is to use a layout manager, so that your component is laid out automatically to fit.
    If you really want to adjust the font size according to the size of the component, you would have to first retrieve the FontMatrix for your font, calculate the width of a particular string of text and see if it fits the component. However, why do that if you don't need to?

  • BUG REPORT: 2 JTextComponents using the same Document

    When 2 JTextComponents use the same Document they should show the same.
    However when you add them to JTabbedPane to 2 different tabs, one does not show the document correctly, until you resize the window.
    Compile and run the code example to see for yourself.
    If you append "<first message"> and "<second message>" the first tab will show the correct document:
    <first message>
    <second message>
    But if you then switch to the second tab (do not switch to it earlier), you will see:
    <first message><second message>
    <second message>
    Add some more messages to see the effect and then resize the window to see the problem dissappear magically.

  • Bootcamp Version 3.1 --List of bug reports for the Development Team to fix.

    Please create a list of bug fixes for the Development Team to address in the next version of Bootcamp (e.g., 3.2). This thread assumes that all users are presently running Bootcamp 3.1:
    1. Sound should not be muted every time a user reboots a newer MacBook laptop using Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. My sound is always muted when I load Windows 7 Ultimate, and I have to manually turn it on each time.
    2. Left and right clicks on the trackpad should work out of the box using Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. My left click operates a little less than 50 percent of the time -- i.e., I click it and nothing happens. I had to switch to "tap to click" as a workaround, however, I prefer the good old solid left click.
    Please step right up and add to the bug report list so that the developers have a checklist of issues that need to be fixed. When the bug report list has grown to a respectable size, I'll send an official letter to the C.E.O. to facilitate the bug reports reaching the development team.

    FWIW, I don't have the symptoms you describe. So I think before you call a symptom a "bug" I think you should confirm that it is indeed a "bug" and not a configuration, software, or hardware issue caused by something such as incorrect installation, incorrect setup, or any other third party or user caused action.
    Also, FWIW, I don't think this forum is intended to be used as a survey for gathering "bugs". Apple has an official feedback page where they gather user experiences such as yours. I think if you post your "bugs" there they will get faster attention than posting them here in this user-to-user help forum.

  • BUG REPORT: new 10g Driver throws SQLExcpetion

    So far, i just replaced my old ORACLE JDBC driver jar file with a new version. Of course, i use the classes12.jar to be used by JDK 1.3. This worked for all the 9.xxx Drivers. Now, i tried to use the classes12.jar from the new "10g" Driver (10.1.0.2.0) but it doesn't work anymore. The first simple SELECT statement throws this error:

    so, nothing special. Going back to the last 9.x driver, it works again. Is the 10g driver knwon to be buggy?
    Is there an official bug report web page on the ORACLE site (similar to the sun Java bug database)?

  • Installed typekit fonts disappear in InDesign after restart.

    Everytime I restart my mac, which is every day, the installed typekit fonts disappear from the font list. They are still showing up in CC desktop (which was just updated). The only way I've been able to get them back is to remove them and then go get them again. This is very discouraging and I hope the bug gets fixed soon.

    Hi lemoos,
    I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. Would you please send your recent sync log files to [email protected] so that we can look into the problem?
    Thank you,

    On OS X:
    * Open the Finder
    * under the Go menu, select "Go To Folder"
    * in the window that opens, type:  /Users/(username)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/
    Remember to replace "(username)" with your own account name.
    (Or if you are comfortable working from the Terminal, cd to $HOME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/)
    On Windows:
    C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CoreSync\
    Attach the 3 or 4 most recent CoreSync-yyyy-MM-dd.log files to an email. Please don't send a zip file, as they often get flagged as spam.

  • [BUG] Reports vanishes and Export File cant be imported

    Hi,
    I do not know where to report a Bug for the SQL Developer, so i will do it here. (May be you should consider of creating such a WebPage as Part of the SQlDeveloper excange).
    Description of the Bug:
    I experienced already twice a loss of all my UserDefinded Reports in the SQLDeveloper. I start the SQLDeveloper and all my Reoprts are gone - no idea why. So because this already happend to me, I alwyays Exported my reports into a File. As ist ahppend again, i tryied to import my Reports into the SQLDeveloper, But when I click on "Import" In the Context Menu a FileDialog with the Title "Save" does open up. I then can choose my Import File and confirm it but it does not get imported, neigther does the export File get changes or so ...
    I do not have any Idea what happend there, but I miss my reports very much!!!!!
    regards
    Joachim

    Hi Joachim,
    I'll address the logistics question first. Where to log bugs:
    For the production software, you can log bugs through Metalink, if you have a Database Suppport License. This is the reason we do have a section on the Exchange for logging bugs. For any evaluation software releases we do, you can log bugs here on the forum.
    If you are working between the evaluation release and the production release, your reports will disappear in the Production release. (See the 'before you install' in the Getting Started doc on our homepage). It sounds like the UserReports.xml file in the .sqldeveloper folder is being corrupted.
    There is one thing I do to save reports I want to keep. I export the reports and save that file to another directory. Then go into Tools -> Preferences - Database -> User Defined Extensions. Now Add a row. Click in the "Type" field and select "Report" . Click in the Location field and browse for your file. (This is only available in 1.1 - you can do it in 1.1.0.21.97)
    You need to click away from this filed to pick up that change. Then click OK. If you restart SQL Developer, you'll see a new folder called "Shared Reports". In the current evaluation release 1.1.0.21.97, only the Shared Reports folder is added, you still need to import the reports xml file. In subsequent builds and in the next build you'll have access to, the file of reports is open under this Shared Reports folder. These reports are not editable, but they are safe.
    So you have a method for keeping your reports safe.
    Regards
    Sue

  • Filing Bug Reports With Apple?

    I SWEAR Apple is getting more and more like Microsoft.
    Can some one PLEASE tell me how to file a BUG REPORT to Apple on the 10.5.3 update? I am getting graphic driver problems again like they were on 10.5.0 and 10.5.1.
    Contacting Apple with a direct bug report seems near impossible and the website is of little help in finding this information. I am outside of Apple Care support.
    10.5.3 graphic drivers are broken again on a "Dual 2HHz Power PC G5" with the following Graphics Card:
    GeForce FX 5200:

    Register for a free online developer account with your AppleID you used to sign on this board. http://developer.apple.com/
    Then go to http://bugreporter.apple.com/ and login there to file your bug report. Note, any discoveries there you are under a non-disclosure agreement.

  • Bug report, how do I find out what is wrong?

    my computer keeps getting bug reports stuck all over the desktop. When I print them it is 3 pages long and I dont know how to use the information from it. It only occurs when my son is using Runescape an online game. My son says he has reported all the errors when the computer prompts him to. I did find an Bug Report that seems to be associated with this problem. Our computer did shut down occasionally also, but since I switched the location of the new memory I added it has not continued. The reason I am checking with this website is because this is where the reports are going. The first part of the error report from my computer is this:
    Unexpected Signal : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) occurred at PC=0x809D50E
    Function=JVM_FindSignal+0x10882
    Library=C:\PROGRA~1\Java\J2RE14~1.2\bin\client\jvm.dll

         at a.run(Unknown Source)
         at client.run(Unknown Source)
         at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
    And the last part of the report reads this:
    Local Time = Fri Mar 04 21:38:29 2005
    Elapsed Time = 58
    # HotSpot Virtual Machine Error : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION

    # Please report this error at
    # http://java.sun.com/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi
    # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (1.4.2-b28 mixed mode)
    What do I need to do to fix this problem? Could it be Runescapes issue? Is there other information that is more important to this? I really appreciate any help I can get with this problem. And I am sorry for being so long. I have included the Bug Report I found that is an almost exact duplicate of our issue.
    Thank you again, Linda Peterson.

    JavaJava13 Hey just wondering. Java is used for runescape on my computer, and it seems to be constantly crashing lately. Not only the game is crshing, it seems to even take down the whole computer with it. Sometimes the computer restarts and I get an error message.
    "Your system has recovered from a serious error"
    Java continues to add error reports to my desktop with this code: 4F530E43505002EF
    Anyone help?

    try checking with runescapes FAQ/tech support. I play
    WC3: RoC and i only got that same memory location
    error(0xc0000005). I got that memory error when I
    used a no-cd third party program when they upgraded
    the server. So, my advice is check on the FAQ for
    errors and ask your son if he is using
    ANY third party programs.The 0xc0000005 error is a standard error on Windows that can occur for any number of reasons.
    It means something in the application tried to access memory to which windows knows the application should not be accessing.

  • FAQ: I found a bug. How do I write a useful bug report? Or send bug files to Adobe?

    If you think you've found a bug in Photoshop CS6, please post your findings here on the forums.
    Here is a list of the information we'll want for you to gather at a minimum:
    Clear and concise steps so that someone who isn't in front of your comptuer can reproduce the issue you are seeing
    Include information on the operating system/version you are running. (e.g. "Mac OS 10.7.3" or "Win XP Service Pack 3")
    Here are some more detailed instructions for writing a useful, complete bug report for us on the forums:
    Provide a descriptive title that includes your OS information:Example: "Photoshop crashes when I save a JPEG file using the File>Save For Web & Devices... command (Mac OS 10.7.3)"
    Provide concise, step-by-step details on how to reproduce the issue you are seeing.
    Example:
    Open an 8-bit, RGB image by selecting File>Open...
    Create a new layer by clicking the "Create New Layer" button on the bottom of the Layers panel
    Paint on the layer created in Step #2 using the default Brush tool
    Choose File>Save For Web & Devices...
    Make sure the optimized format is set to "JPEG" and set the Quality setting to "80"
    Click the Save button at the bottom of the Save For Web & Devices dialog, choose the desktop as the location for saving the file
    Provide a description of the "Result" you are observing:
    Example: "Result: Photoshop crashes"
    If there is an error dialog, please include the exact wording displayed in the dialog or provide a screen shot or video of the entire screen so we can see the dialog as well as the state of the application - i.e. what panels are shown, the state of the Layers panel, etc.
    If the error is a visual defect, either in the user interface or the image itself, provide a screen shot or video of the entire screen so we can see the dialog as well as the state of the application - i.e. what panels are shown, the state of the Layers panel, etc.
    Provide a description of the "Expected Result":
    Example: "Expected Result: Photoshop to save JPEG file to the desktop, no crash"
    In some cases this may be obvious (such as in the case of a crash) but in others, what you expect to happen may be different than what the application was designed to do. Please be as specific as possible.
    Provide the crash log by submitting all crash reports, including your email address, for every single crash your encounter:
    You may also include the contents of your crash log in your forum posts as well, but always submit them using the above instructions as well.
    Crash logs are located on Macintosh here: Users/<your user name>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter
    Provide your System Info from Photoshop: What's even more useful is if you can share your System Info from Photoshop as it contains all kinds of useful information (OS/version, graphics card, driver version, 3rd party plug-ins used, etc) that will help the team track down your issue.
    On occasion, the Photoshop engineers may request that you provide problematic files in order to reproduce and debug your issue.
    In these cases, please post the file somewhere using your own servers or one your favorite online document/distribution services and provide a URL/instructions to download the file:
    Dropbox
    Adobe SendNow
    YouSendIt
    If the file isn't something you can post publically, you can request that someone from the engineering team contact you to figure out a secure way to get the affected files.
    Thanks,
    The Photoshop Development Team

    First thing would be to realise the exact error. Second would be to check your logs to see what you have installed/upgraded which might be causing this error. Third, google your error and see if matches turn up. Fourth, search in Arch bugtracker to see if a match exist. Else file a report.

  • Validation error corrupts component tree?

    I've got a strange problem trying to use validation on input fields.
    The basic setup is as follows:
    I've got a page divided into two parts with separate h:form tags, the one holding a dataTable with some elements and the other showing the element details in inputFields once an item is selected in the dataTable via a commandLink. A commandButton on the detail side allows you to update the values of the selected item which is being reflected in the dataTable on reload. So far so good.
    Here comes the strange part:
    All the inputFields are marked required. Now once you leave a field empty and try to submit the form, you get a validation error as expected. BUT if you now select a different element from the dataTable, ONLY the field whose validation formerly failed is being updated, the other fields still show the same value as before. The backing bean method that belongs to the commandLink is being executed, and the underlying data object of the input fields is being set properly, only the values in the component tree aren't updated. This behaviour persists until you enter a valid value in the formerly invalid input field and submit. Debugging shows that as long as at least one field has had validation errors, only the getter of these backing beans properties are being invoked during render response phase, as opposed to the "normal" case where the getters of all the backing beans properties are being called.
    For some reason, the render response phase seems to ignore the other components in the component tree when there was some validation error on one or more fields.
    Another interesting observation:
    This is the behaviour if I don't specify an action attribute in the commandLink selecting an element from the dataTable, as I want to return to the same page again. But if I define a navigation case that brings me to the same page and put that into the action attribute, the problem doesn't occur. Unfortunately this is no option for me, as I'm aiming to do all this with ajax.
    I've created a simple example so you can try out yourself:
    test.jsp:
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" prefix="h"%>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" prefix="f"%>

    Thanks for any input,

    Is there noone here who can tell me if this is behavior like specified or if I miss some point?
    A possible solution seems to be telling JSF programmatically to rebuild the view root. Does anyone if this is possible?
