BUGREPORT: Appworld website

Hi,
BUG: No picture thumbnails currently displayed for "Top albums" section in Appworld.
To reproduce:
1. With your browser (I used Firefox 18.0.1 on Windows XP) go to http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/?
Observe: "Top albums" section does not have thumbnails shown, neither on mouseOver or mouseOut
Bug is reproducible, too obvious and stays the whole morning already. Please fix asap - not good for the BlackBerry brand.
Just re-tested on IE7 - picture are just not loaded.
I just clicked one album - after opening the page for the album there is no picture too. There is a place on the left just below the title where picture should be loaded, so either the path is wrong or the picture file is not there.
Good luck.
PS: I am frustrated: So I am a regular customer, software developer by profession. Tried to submit this to the official website bug email ([email protected]) with a screenshot and got my mail rejected. Why do you publish support emails when you reject the messages? Complete non-sense. Didn't expected it. If the attachment was the problem - just setup a simple page on the website for submiting website feedback with a text field for subject, text area for the actual text and a field for picture upload for screenshot. Simple - would take about 10-20 minutes to be created. Or in the automated response at least write "we don't accept email attachments". Anyway. Then called the corporate phone in Waterloo and spoke to some lady who had no idea what I am talking about and asked me some non-sense things about numbers I don't have. Guess she thought I am a corporate customer. When I laid it out clear saying "I am submiting you a website error report" she gave me some other email ([email protected]) to re-send my email, instead of contacting your support herself. I sent them the same email. Just in case decided to submit it here too. Guys why don't you have a website dedicated subforum for such things? The last thing I want to do is to send bugreports where I am not supposed to. Not mentioning that website users are not supposed to see such obvious things. Your QA guys should pay a bit more attention before something is released in a production environment.
Anyway. Hope you fix it soon.

  • App in AppWorld Wrong Version Installed

Hello,  I've tried to find an answer to this before finally bringing the issue to all of you. Yesterday I downloaded Hookt Messenger from AppWorld https://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/59560/?os=1688849860263936&model=9800&lang=en
As you can see the version stated at the bottom is 1.8.1, released 14th September 2012, however after I downloaded it the version installed on my phone was 1.7.4, released 21st November 2011. For some reason the version that comes up via AppWorld through my phone is the older version BUT via the AppWorld website it says 1.8.1.
I've tried downloading via the website using a USB cable hoping to get the latest version but I still end up with the old version
Any thoughts as to why this is happening? I've sent an email to Hookt but no reply & I can't seem to find the correct email to send to BlackBerry support
Please help! Thank you all for your time <3

  • App World Login Error Download file

    Hello all,
When i'm making the login on the appworld website, after clicinkg the sign in button, I receive a message that IE cannot donwload the file.
This is not allowing me even to acess my appworld account once it stays blocked in this error.
    Any sugestion?

    Hey nmerendeiro,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
You can access BlackBerry World from the BlackBerry smartphone through Wi-Fi or your mobile data connection.  Internet Explorer shouldn't have to download any files if you're using a PC, just need to run a plug-in.
I would highly suggest you use the application on the BlackBerry smartphone.  Go to www.blackberry.com/appworld/download to download the app.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • App world always gives error after 1 complete sync

earlier i have used the app world plugin and all was well.

whn compluter starts, and i start google chrome, then goto appworld website, then download (SYNC) any app, all goes succesfully.
then whn i try the 2nd download (sync) .. the error comes
"SYNC ISSUE: There is an issue connecting to BlackBerry World. Please try again"
i have checked in hte cellphone, the first app is working perfect.
later if i try syn agian and again at appworld website, the first SYNC is even impossible and has same error.
If i resrtart the computer, then all goes well , juz like i stated earlier, but only for 1st sync.
    plz provide a solution

furthermore ... if i try restarting the google chrome, or even through the internet explorer ... cannot even open the appworld website... it juz goes blank with both the chrome and IE.

  • App world registration does not work on PC

Registered Playbook during setup, created my Blackberry Id - was only asked for email, username and password- when trying to login to App world on pc- it brings up download brower add in , after download sits on "connect your blackberry device" without proceeding further. Thus I am unable to update registration with paying options, nor I am able to download or purchase any apps. Instructions on here do not work, because it never goes to carousel, just sits there waiting for blackberry device, while the Blackberry Desktop in running and connecting and seeing the Playbook just fine.
Also how lame is it to go to Appworld website on your Playbook and see that "your browser is not supported" message.

I tried it on Internet Explorer 9 and latest Chrome, in Windows 7.

  • Citrix Receiver - AppWorld says for Classic but doesn't work

(Posted this in the other forum for downloaded apps, reposting here since I seemed to have posted in the wrong forum.)
    http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/34621918/?lang=en
Something wrong with the compatibility? Website says compatible with Classic when you mouse over Supported Devices, but when I load it on the device it doesn't work.
Sideloading from Citrix doesn't work either, it says the app has been replaced and told me to redownload from World.

Citrix themselves provided a BAR file. I used BB10 App Manager via Dev mode.

  • "Unable to open" WhatsApp download page, or download Appworld

    Hello,
    I have a Blackberry Z10 device.
My problems began earlier today when WhatsApp prompted me update it because the application is too old. When I pressed the "Update WhatsApp" link within WhatsApp, strangely nothing happened (it has always worked previously). So I thought I would instead download WhatsApp from the WhatsApp website, http://whatsapp.com/download . To my surprise, when I entered this URL in the browser it said "Unable to open appworld://content/2360?" I then realized that maybe my Blackberry Appworld has been accidentally deleted at some point because I can't find it on my phone.
So my next step was to reboot the phone and then try to download Appworld again from this link: www.blackberry.com/appworld/download
The page opened and told me "Visit www.blackberry.com/appworld/download from your smartphone to download." Of course, I already had this very page open on my phone, so that was a dead end. I went for the second option, to enter my email address integrated with my Blackberry smartphone and have a download link sent to me.
The link that arrived in my inbox was: http://mobileapps.blackberry.com/devicesoftware/entry.do?code=appworld
When I pressed this link from my smartphone, I was taken to a page that said, "Downloads via a USB connection are not enabled for this product. Please visit our mobile download site using the browser on your Blackberry." But I WAS on the mobile download site using the browser on my Blackberry. Nevertheless, even when I pressed the link to this mobile download site it brought me back to the same page about the USB connection. My phone was not plugged in with a USB cable at the time.
So I'm now at a loss as to how to proceed with re-installing Appworld and, subsequently, WhatsApp. Assistance is appreciated!

  • Blackberry Appworld Issue BBID Password Not Accepted

I have enjoyed my PlaBk for almost a year but this has never happened. I attempted to purchase an app. When asked.com for my BBID password it would not accept it. I tried a few times more without working. So I went to Blackberry and changed my BBID password. But back on the playbook it still not accept my password. .
Something else...in MyAppWorld, when I try and re-install an previously uninstalled app, I get a 0003-0005 error on the screen of my PlaBk
When I go to the Blackberry ID in the Options, the message comes up 'Unable to Connect'
But I am connected via WiFi and I can go onto appworld???
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The router seems to be doing its job alright with all aspects of playbook connectivity seeming to work flawlessly. The more I read though, the more it looks like the playbook and the blackberry ID software is in some kind of conflict. So the BBID works on the phone, and on the website, but still not the playbook. A "003-005" error is generated when I attempt to update software from MyAppWorld. If I attempt to purchase, a network error is reported

  • AppWorld Error ID 30220

    Hi,
This morning when I checked the Playbook, as usual I checked in AppWorld, what is new, and it showed me that Magellan Compass as been upgraded, so I tried to upgrade mine, and it ifrst told me that the price as change, then it ask me for my login into AppWorld, which I entered, and then it got me an error the one in the title of this message
I checked on the website, what I found was to erase the application, which I did and then to type RST in the AppWorld, again I did it, I even did the POWER + - reset of the Playbook, and I still get the same error everytime that I try to re-install the app
Using the Playbook and the Z10 and the Z30 and loving them
    Martin

I believe the error has to do with the increase the price considering there was a charge for ver 2 now 2.1. It appears that the author is increasing the capabilities of the software.

  • BlackBerry World via pc website is unusable!

When I log in with my ID, the website becomes unusable with drop downs once clicked, not being selectable (they disappear before selection is available) The formating of the page is entirely strange, Graphics and phone all listed down the left hand side and when scrolling down, eventually you come to the BlackBerry World Section. It does not matter which browser I utilise, as soon as i log in the site formats all over the place and becomes useless.

I'm surprised you're having issues with BlackBerry World. When I try it from my PC (Windows 8 using Chrome), I have no problems at all and never have. I assume you're typing in the correct URL but just in case, give this one a click and let me know how you fare:
    http://blackberry.com/appworld
    Cheers.

  • Wont let me update anything and this website is useless!!!!!

i have upgrades and it wont let me upgrade them it starts to maybe transfere 0.1mb then cancels and says there is there was a roblem installing...... i have tried it with bbm whatsapp a few games and all the same ive tried it with 3 g and wifi.
this website and blackberry support is shocking nearly as bad as the software and battery life i cant wait for my contract to end!

OK, you are still angry, and want to continue venting...that's fine. I'll try to not take it personally.
Since you want help, I am going to have to make an assumption that you are using the on-device AppWorld client in the attempts that are causing you problems? If not, then please clarify with details. If so, then I suggest that you clear the AppWorld application cache:
    1. Open App World
    2. Go to My World
    3. Follow one (and only one!) of these steps:
3a. For keyboard-based BB's -- Hold down the ALT key and then press, in sequence R, then S, then T
3b. For Touch Screen Only BBs -- Hold the num-lock (!?123) button so it locks and then press, in sequence 3, then 4, then (
    3c. For newer (e,g., OS6 and 7) BB's, see this KB:
KB24714 How to clear the BlackBerry App World cache
    4. AppWorld should close.
    5. If your BB locks after issuing the cache clear, perform a battery pull reboot
    6. Return to AppWorld/MyWorld (it may be sluggish while it re-synchronizes).
If step (4) does not happen as listed, then the clear cache did not work.
    Hopefully it'll work for you!

maybe if blackberry had a proper support team
Well, when everyone signs their contracts (both for device purchase as well as service plans from their carrier), they are in effect agreeing to the support model that exists. In that model, BlackBerry provides no front line support to any end users for anything, not even warranty btw. All support starts with the carriers, authorized resellers, and original places of purchase (depending on the issue and region), all who can escalate into BlackBerry for issues that they cannot resolve. But, contractually, all parties are bound to this support model, including the end user.
There are plenty of debates about the merits and de-merits of that support model...but those debates are IMHO pointless. It is what it is, and all parties are contractually bound to it. Fortunately, there are helpful sites (like this one) with kind volunteers who do their best to help out other kind souls.
Good luck and let us know...there may be more steps to try in your situation, but I don't want to flood you with suggestions and would rather take a step-by-step approach. If you'd prefer the flood, just let me know and I'll gladly provide it. If you'd prefer formal support, then please do feel free to exercise that channel.

  • Testing a website in all versions of Safari

I suspect the answer to this question, is one I don't want to hear, but I am trying to find out how to get a copy of Safari 1.2 working on my machine in tandem with the other browsers I have (including Safari 3.0.4). I am a web designer and have a few websites that I have been informed are having problems in older versions of Safari. I would therefore like to test the site in said older versions, to establish what exactly the problems are. Rather than trying to get the client to try and describe the problem or to go and run around trying to figure out the problem each time one occurs, I would like to get under the skin of the problems if and when they occur. I understand that 1.2 is in computer terms, ancient, but, that is not an excuse I am prepared to use for people who for whatever reason choose to keep using old versions of Safari. I have seen some 'hacks' for getting older versions to work on the same computer as a current version and using Leopard, but I am not particularly comfortable doing this. Nor do I want to go and dig out an old mac and get that to a point I can test on it. Is there an official way to test websites for compatibility with all older versions of Safari? Perhaps there is software written that does this already, open source or otherwise? Additionally is there official documentation as to what exactly was changed from version to version and how this affected how html/css/javascript etc?
Thanks for any help in advance.

  • No appworld on my playbook

Hi All, after a hard reset of my PlayBook - the playbook didn't react on anything only on the setting button - I only have the browser as on application on the PlayBook. The Appworld etc is gone and the BB Bridge (re installed) doens't react on new emails. I tried to install the appworld but every link posted on the website of BB doesn't support the playbook. So how do I get the app world back on my playbook..... Thanks, Eduard
