  • Adding existing systems to a new Solution Manager 7.0 Ehp1 system

    Dear Experts,
    We've just installed a new Solution Manager 7.0 Ehp1 system, we have a 3 system landscape in action, please need your help to connect these systems with this new Solution Manager system. The post installation Initial Configuration and Basic Configuration has been performed successfully. Also need your help with Maintenance Optimizer configuration and setting up EWA.
    Please do share experiences, links and documents for the above.
    Thanks in advance,

    You can use the explanation below to configure MOPZ and maintain systems in SMSY.
    4.5.2Configuration of the Maintenance Optimizer
    You have to configure the Maintenance Optimizer. For a list of configuration tasks, see the Maintenance Optimizer Configuration Guide.
    Make sure that you run the guided procedure SOLMAN_SETUP after every installation or update of SAP Solution Manager and that it completes successfully.

    4.5.3Maintaining System Landscape Information
    The Maintenance Optimizer relies upon up-to-date information about your system landscape. Therefore you have to maintain this data in SAP Solution Manageru2019s system landscape (transaction SMSY). In the following, you will find the description how to maintain this data. If you already have maintained the system landscape data, then check if the data is correct.
    If you use the System Landscape Directory (SLD), then use it to capture the system data.
    If you do not use the System Landscape Directory (for example, if you have a pure ABAP system), you use RFC connections to maintain the data.
    Procedure
    Maintaining the System Landscape Data Using SLD
    1.
    Register both Java systems and ABAP systems that you want to update in your central SLD.
    The central SLD can either be on your SAP Solution Manager system, or you can have a separate system where you run the SLD (central runtime SLD). If you use a central runtime SLD, make sure that it is synchronized with the local SLD of your SAP Solution Manager system.

    Create an RFC connection between the Solution Manager and the system you want to update using the RFC Assistant.
    5.
    Start the data transfer
    To initiate the remote transfer of system data from the target system, choose the Read System Data Remote.
    RECOMMENDATION

  • Accessing Solution Manager CHARM Via SAP CRM

    Hi
    Is it possible to accces charm of soultion manager via SAP CRM
    If so how does it work and documentation are welcomed
    Thanks in advance
    R-K

    option 1
      > customise sap crm to cater for the external product in terms of what solution manager charm / service is currently doing for sap componet
        . Create all the status for this products eg: transport is in Dev for product A, Transprot is in QA for product A or product is in Prod then test and close the call
    > access solution manager from crm (NB: work center / service desk can be accessed through crm) the problem is WE NOT SURE OF CHARM
    > also customise crm to cater for IT related issues like broken laptop or netowrk cable not working or  IT related query,
    Option 2
    > intergrate the external product to solution manager o
    > Customise CHARM / service desk to cater for this external product in solution manager the way it does for sap components / ibase

  • Solution Manager Charm configuration

    Hi @all,
    I´am using SAP Solution Manager 7.0 SP 15. Configurated all Charm Steps successfully.
    The SAP Solutoin Manager - Scenario- Specific Settings - Change Management - Extended Configuration -Checks - Execute Check Report is green
    I can´t open any hance cycle in solar_project_admin - System Landscape - Change Requests , Create Task List, I get the result "project is not released. hance cycle can not be created".
    If i click "check", there are three errors:
    Message from function module /TMWFLOW/CALC_SINGLE_TRACK: No source system
    (Message no. /TMWFLOW/TRACK_N103)
    No track for project DF_WART_01 with log. system A36/200
    (Message no. /TMWFLOW/CM_CHECK038)
    CTS projects in production systems for project DF_WART_01
    (Message no. /TMWFLOW/TASKLIST190)
    System change options are empty.
    In my authorized Change Requests - related documents (next document). i get "there are no actions in the Worklist"
    i´ve no idea where my fault is. I hope you can help me.
    Please suggest.
    Best Regards
    Daniel

    Now I have created a new maintenance project, I´ve configured everything, when I check it, I get two errors:
    No consolidation system found for A36-200 (project DF_SOLMAN1)
    Message no. /TMWFLOW/TRACK_N806
    No track for project DF_SOLMAN1 with log. system A36/200
    Message no. /TMWFLOW/CM_CHECK038
    I noticed that this thread is pretty old already but I bumped into similar error messages and in the end it was caused by a TMS route configuration that didn't match the configuration of the logical component that was in use.
    You can pretty easily verify this through SMSY. Navigate to your logical component there, select the line of the system assignment and click on Shipment Routes button. If you get an empty screen back, then your TMS transport route configuration doesn't match your logical component configuration.
    For example, you've got DEV 100 - DEV 200 - PRD 100 for a CHARM demo landscape. If your TMS transport route configuration matches this but your logical component has DEV 100 assigned as Quality Assurance, then your configuration check for CHARM will fail because there is a mismatch.
    When your configuration is correct, so both your TMS transport route as your Logical Component (system role assignment), then you should get a transport route configuration back (visible) after clicking Shipment Routes.

  • Solution Manager/Charm and Transport Dependency Check

    Hello Everyone,
    I apologize if this question has an obvious answer.  I have searched SDN and could not get a 100% answer.
    We are just now in the process of rolling out Charm/Solution Manager and I have noticed that it appears to not perform transport dependency checks.  For example, let's say I am working on object ABC and have completed my testing (ready for transport to production) and then another developer also starts development on object ABC.  When my change is moved to production, it will pick up the other developers modifications without giving a warning or an error that a dependency has been encountered between the two transport requests.
    Does Charm/Solution Manager offer the option of producing a warning should a transport depedency be identified?  If so, will someone explain (or point me to the appropriate documentation) how this can be set up?
    Best Regards,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
    ChaRM supports imports from DEV->QAS->PRD by transport by transport requests level not by transport request task level. So don't worry(i.e., You can't import only your change of object ABC to production. It allows to import your change and other user's change of object ABC together to production).
    This is how it works(if more than an user works on the same object):
    1. Requester creates a support message from satelitte system to report a problem.
    2. Service desk employee creates a change document because some changes need to be done on object ABC to correct that reported problem.
    3. Change Manager approves the change document. So a normal correction is created automatically.
    4. This normal correction is assigned to 2 developers(your scenario) like for an example DVPR1 and DVPR2.
    5. DVPR1 creates a transport request and does some changes on object ABC. So a transport task will be created for DVPR1 under that transport request automatically.
    6. When DVPR2 tries to do some changes on the same object ABC, a seperate transport task(not a transport request) will be created for DVPR2 under the same transport request because the object ABC is locked under the transport request. So DVPR2 can't create a separate transport request for the same object if any transport request is pending(not released).
    7. Now object ABC will have one transport request. That transport request will have 2 transport tasks(1 for DVPR1 and 1 for DVPR2).
    8. Each developer relases their transport task only(not transport request) once he/she completes his/her change on the object ABC.
    9. DVPR1 or DVPR2 will change the status of normal correction to "Development Completed".
    10. Now, IT operator or DVPR1 or DVPR2 can release the transport request. The transport request can be released only if all tasks are released under the same transport request.
    (In this example: DVPR1 completed his change and released his transport task. Next DVPR2 completed and released his transport task).
    11. Finally IT operator import the transport request to QAS and PRD.
    Hope you are clear now. Let me know if you have any doubts.

    Sanjai

  • Solution Manager SLA reporting

    I use SolMan to create different SLA reports - for different clients in
    one solution.
    The problem I'm facing is that the "General Settings for
    SL Report xx" data are not saved for the report chosen, but for all
    reports: the address, header and frontpage data saved as the last for
    report x overwrites the same data for other reports. Additionally some
    data even if can be entered there, are not fully displayed on the
    report - sometimes they are shorter on the report than in configuration.
    Is it possible to save the (for example) customer data for only one
    report, and the different data for the other report?

    Hello,
    No there are not any daily reports for Alerts on Solution Manager.
    However there is a reporting functionality in Central Performance History Reporting in the Alert Monitor.
    The functions of the Central Performance History (CPH) include creating report definitions and reports. You can also call these functions from the Monitoring Attributes - Detail Data screen in the Alert Monitor. All reporting functions are available to you, and operation is simpler (especially for creating standard reports):

  • Solution manager EWA report frequency

    Hi all
    In Solution manager we have early watch alert configured for weekly basis. But we need to change it to monthly basis.
    In solution manager, when I execute solution_manager, and EWA reports I get reports for every one week. Where can i change this frequency?
    Thanks
    subbu

    Ok, I see...
    I also submit a monthly report. I created a Ms-Word template based on a real EWA report.
    I customized it for my own use.
    but all these steps are manual and it usually takes me about 30 minutes to generate the report by fetching proper information.
    so, go get the most important information from your EWA report such as disk usage, CPU usage, user count etc... and forget about the rest.

  • Solution manager charm configure

    hello everyone
    i want to configure the charM scope with our R3 and BW at  two  domain .
    R3 landscape
                        DEV(101sandbox,201-develop,301-customizing ,800unit testing)
                        QAS(800- testing)
                        PRD(800-prduct)
      tranport   from DEV TO QAS and delivery to PRD ,also you can export the object from  QAS to PRD for special .
    domain controller is PRD
    BW landscape BWD(client 100)--BWQ(client 880)BWP(client 880)
    domain controller is BWP
    if we use the charM for manager the change requst ,how we configure  in all system for prepare the charM like the stms configure .
    we notice our test system and prd system have same client number ,so it is ok for configure ?
    expect your help!
    thanks a lot!
    frank

    Hi,
    1 QAS client and PRD client can be the same(need not to be different).
    2. Make sure that the system landscape you mention under system landscape tab of SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN should match with TMS configuration of Solution Manager.(This is very important).
      You should create a maintenance project with system landscape DEV-201->QAS-200->PRD-200 using SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN. Repeat this step for BW also.
       You need to configure TMS of Solution Manager in Client 000 as follows:
        SLM->DEV-201->(Consolidation Route)QAS-200->(Delivery Route)PRD-200
        SLM->BW-100->(Consolidation Route)BW-880->(Delivery Route)BW-880
    No more document is required better than SPRO. Just follow this SPRO path to configure TMS:
    SPRO->SAP Solution Manager->Configuration->Scenario-Specific Settings->Change Management
    ->Change Request Management->Standard Configuration->Transport Management System(Read IMG activity of each step).
    Let me know if you have aby issues.

  • Updating Solution Manager - Charm Non-regression Tests

    Dear Gurus,
    we plan to update Solution Manager from SP18 to SP25.
    One of our concerns is related to Charm. Actually, due to code changes in the Charm workflow, we'd like to ensure there won't be any regression. what would you suggest?
    1) Adding additional mandants to the sandbox system (one for every system in the transport route)
    2) Creating virtual systems in TMS
    Sincerly,
    Ludovic

    I will try to clarify the issue.
    As regression test, we would like to simulate a Charm workflow within the sandbox environment. The original Workflow is based on validation steps accross DEV - INT - QUA - PPD - PRD.
    Question is : can I define virtual systems in TDM/CHARM like I would do to bypass a system during transports in order to simulate our complete landscape?
    Kind Regards,
    Ludovic

  • Solution Manager CHARM Implementation

    Our company has implemented SAP in the year 2000.  Now we are trying to implement Solution Manager and do CHARM configuration.
    The difficulty what we are facing is the system is taking all the transports which have already done right from the year 2000.
    Is ther any way by which we can restrict the system not to take those CR's into consideration...

  • Email Solution manager task report session

    Good day,
    I am currently tasked with generating task session reports from solution manager. Systems I am reporting on are ECC 6.0, BI, CRM & PI. I can generate reports fine, however I would like to setup solution manager to send these task session report to a list recepient vial email directly from solution manager. It should be like EWA reports send via email in this case I want to send task session report after I have completed the checks.
    1) Is it possible to setup solution manager to do that?
    2) I want to be able to highlight all issues that I have picked like how EWA highlights its alerts.

    Hi
    the task "early watch alert for solution manager" created automatically when did you perform the task "refreh session" or "Maintenance Package"
    please create the  relevant task, via : SDCCN -> Task -> Create ->Request session data ->Periodic -> Earlywatch Alert -> Continue.
    'Schedule' the start date of the first session  and - Task -- create Click on 'Refresh sessions' - Press 'Enter' - Select 'Now', to schedule the job 'immediately. once you create the relevant tasks you go by,  in the Menu -  Goto -> start - to activate the Earlywatch alert session Now, you can check the finished EWA task in 'done' tab.
    Login to Solution Manager, goto trx. DSWP --> Select your solution, Solution Monitoring - Earlywatch alert -  Click on Earlywatch alert --> start service processing --> Press 'OK' to start the background job - click 'Refresh'
    Now, you can see the 'Early watch alert' in the green colour .

  • Solution Manager ChaRM Issues when Upgrading Satellite System

    When upgrading a satellite system that is connected to Solution Manager's Change Request Management, is there anything that we need to be aware of?
    Will Change Documents still be able to go to completion (Production status) if we modify the landscape from the time the Change Document is In Development to the time it is moved to Production?
    1. Normal Correction (In Development)     Development (ECC 5.0) -> Quality (ECC 5.0) -> Production (ECC 5.0)
    2. Landscape is changed to                    Development (ECC 6.0) -> Quality (ECC 6.0) -> Production (ECC 5.0)
    3. Normal Correction moved to To Be Tested -> Consolidated -> Production
    Will the Normal Correction be in error because the landscape changed for the iBASE?
    Are there any other lessons learned that anyone has experienced with Change Request Management or Implementation during and after an upgrade?
    Thank You,

    Thanks Subhashini!
    We had issues updating the Task List in the past. After we update the landscape and refresh the project and update the Task List, do you foresee any other problems?
    Are there any additional items we should look out for? For example, we understand it is a requirement to release all transports prior to beginning the upgrade. However, since the release of the transport locks the change into the cycle for the next production move, this will present a problem if the change is not yet ready to be moved into Production. Do you have any further insight to any additional issues such as this?
    Thanks again!

    Thank you.

    Hi Gabriel Morleg,
    Seems that you had some problem during the creation of table SAPUSER.
    In order to fix the table, you will need to perform some activities directly on the database. Use SQLPlus. For the next instructions I will assume your system is called ABC and the DBSchema is called SR3.
    from the operating system, start sqlplus:
    sqlplus / as sysdba
    check step 1:
    > select count(1) from dba_users where username='OPS$ABCADM';
    If the above command returns nothing, then:
    > create user "OPS$ABCADM" default tablespace PSAPSR3USR temporary tablespace psaptemp identified externally;
    > grant connect, resource, sapdba to "OPS$ABCADM";
    check step 2:
    > select owner from dba_tables where table_name = 'SAPUSER';
    if the above command returns nothing, then:
    > create table "OPS$ABCADM".SAPUSER (USERID VARCHAR2(256), PASSWD VARCHAR2(256));
    check step 3:
    >select * from  "OPS$ABCADM".SAPUSER ;
    if the above command returns nothing, then:
    > insert into  "OPS$ABCADM".SAPUSER  values ('SAPSR3', 'manager');
    > alter user sapsr3 identified by manager;
    if the command of step 3 returns content and you want to redefine, then:
    > truncate table "OPS$ABCADM".SAPUSER;
    > insert into  "OPS$ABCADM".SAPUSER  values ('SAPSR3', 'manager');
    check step 4:
    > select count(*) from dba_users where username = 'OPS$ORAABC';
    if the command above returns nothing, then:
    > create user "OPS$ORAABC" default tablespace PSAPSR3USR temporary tablespace psaptemp identified externally;
    > grant connect, resource,sapdba to "OPS$ORAABC";
    check step 5:
    > select owner from dba_tables where table_name = 'SAPUSER';
    If the command above returns nothing, then:
    > create table "OPS$ORAABC".SAPUSER (USERID VARCHAR2(256), PASSWD VARCHAR2(256));
    check step 6:
    > select * from  "OPS$ORAABC".SAPUSER ;
    if the command above returns nothing, then:
    > insert into  "OPS$ORAABC".SAPUSER  values ('SAPSR3','manager');
    if the command os step 6 returns content and you want to redefine them:
    > truncate table "OPS$ORAABC".SAPUSER;
    > insert into  "OPS$ORAABC".SAPUSER  values ('SAPSR3', 'manager');
    This should be enough to overcome the ORA 1403 error.
