Building Reports from Multiple Schemas

Hi,
I have a DB which contains 15 different schema. They contain the same tables and tables structure , with the data between different schemas being different. The user wants the same report to show data of each instance. I do not want to build 15 physical/bmm Models . Is there anyway this can be done? Please let me know the different options.

Hi
You can build this as 15 Logical table sources and specify as Fragmentation source. Use a logical column to specify condition and combine sources which would work for you. Let us know result.

  • Report from multiple subject areas

    Hi,
I need to create a report from multiple subject areas. I am not sure whether it;s possible in OBIEE answers.
Is there any other tool from OBIEE suite where I can design it?
    Thanks

Yes, i can see datatype and number of columns is same in both queries.
i have challanges to copy message but Error message seems to general. Error says (near to FROM) and I checked there are three FROM in query and all seems to be ok
Query is something like as below
    select SA1.col1 saw_0,
    SA1.col2 saw_1,
    SA2.col1 saw_2,
    SA2.col2 saw_3,
    FROM
    (select col1 saw_0, col2 saw_1 from "subject area1") SA1
    FULL OUTER JOIN
    (select col1 saw_0, col2 saw_1 from "subject area2") SA2
    ON SA1.col1 = SA2.col1
I can't see any issue in the query...please comment.

  • OBIEE report from multiple facts at different levels

Currently we need to develop a report with columns from 3 different facts surrounded with conformed and non conformed dimensions at different levels.
After setting the hierarchial levels and putting the facts into single logical table with different sources OBIEE is generating 2 different queries and does a full outer join.
I would like to know how we can do a left outer join instead of full outer join between the 2 queries based on a common column?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Vinod,
The scenario provided in the link above doesnt match to my issue.
We need to develop a report from multiple fact tables at different levels with conformed & non conformed dimension columns.
    I have 7 dimensions D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6 and D7 & two fact F1 and F2 tables.
F1 is tied to dimensions D1,D2,D3,D4,d5
    F2 is tied to dimensions D3,D4,D5, D6 and D7.
    In my report I have columns from D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6, D7, F1 and F2.
So OBIEE generates 2 queries with columns from D1,D2,D3,D4,d5 & F1 measure and another query with D3,D4,D5, D6, D7 and F2 measure.
and then does a cross fact join out of box between 2 queries.
But I need to do a left outer join between the 2 queries on a common column instead of cross fact join. I would like to know how we can achive this.
    Thanks.

  • Build Reports from XML output from Reports

    Hi,
I was just wondering if it is possible to build reports from output in XML format, originally generated by Oracle Reports.
The XML output produced by Reports is stored in a database for further processing.
    TIA
    Hien

    Hi Hien
If I have understood this right, you need to create report in XML format from an XML Report Definition File. From the Builder, Generate to File from the File menu and choose XML format for the output.
Remember that XML output from Reports is Data driven and faithfully reproduces the Data Model. It is NOT layout driven.

  • Building index from multiple master and child relationship tables

    Hello,
    My question is:
Is it possible to create the index for master and child tables?
If yes, can you please point me out to any links or give me an example.
Actually i just followed this below link to create the index using multiple tables
Building index from multiple tables for text search
I am able to create the index using above link, but problem accured , when i search for one master data column value then it is returning many rows with same master data for each child row.
    for example
    SELECT
    a.conc_program_name,
    a.conc_program_desc,
    b.param_name
    FROM a_master a, b_child b
    WHERE b.report_dtls_id = a.report_id
    AND CONTAINS (a.dummy, 'PAY') > 0
    Which retruns
    PAY Master A
    PAY Master B
    PAY Master C
Please let me know is there any way i can restrict this to single row with concatination of child data like
    PAY Master A B C
Another doubt is ,i have the column value like p_consolidation_set_id,when i give this in CONTAINS (a.dummy, 'p_consolidation_set_id') > 0 ,then not able to get the any results.
please let me what shall i do for this issue.
    Thanks

There are various ways to concatenate the values. One nice generic solution is to use Tom Kyte's stragg function:
    http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/ask/f?p=4950:8:::::F4950_P8_DISPLAYID:2196162600402
If p_consolidation_set_id is a variable name, not a value, then do not put quotes around it.

  • How to create a report from multiple dynamic XMLs

    Hi,
I'm trying to build a consolidated report that gets data from multiple XML files and each XML file is different. Although the presentation of the data will be similar, the contents of the XMLs will vary and the number of XMLs to merge will also vary.
What I would like to understand is the following:
    * Is it possible to generate a report template based on dynamic columns where the column names, their format and number is different for each business object?
    * Is it required to generate an XML with the entire data or can the template read information from different XML files? and if so how it can be done. Please notice that the formatting of each XML may be different.
    * Is it possible to use the services to generate the reports directly? Something around these lines was mentioned in one of the sessions but it was also mentioned that it's still WIP.
I've been using the standalone version and although I can get the desired result, I couldn't merge data from multiple XMLs.
Is the new BIP version available, or an enterprise version that I can use?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Rich,
Even i had a similar kind of problem. I wanted to fetch data from BI through the XMLA Connector which are created in Query Designer and then i wanted to fetch these fields and rearrange them and put it in a report format by colouring certain fields. Can the same can be done in WebDynpro.

  • Building report from PL/SQL cursor

    Hello,
is there any way to build APEX report using just PL/SQL cursor?
I don't have grant to SELECT from views or tables, but I can use some functions returning row types and cursors. I know I can use them to build table from scratch with htp.p etc., but it’s not very nice. I want to do it using APEX reporting with filtering and pagination functionality.
    Is it possible?
    Regards,

Apologies for the delay, I was out of the office.
Below is a package serving as the basis for creating a view based on a pipelined function. The package is just a skeleton and will not compile in its current form, you will need to go through it filling in the blanks as described by the comments.
If you want some control over what rows are returned by the view from a larger result set, use the set_parameters function in the WHERE clause, E.G.:
    select * from really_big_complicated_slow_view where 1 = view_pkg.set_parameters(something_that_reduces_the_view_result_set_size);
    Or, a more concrete example:
    select result_text from view_to_convert_to_csv where 1 = view_pkg.set_parameters(pi_table => 'my_table', pi_where = 'whatever');
In the spirit of full disclosure, I got the idea for using the "set_parameters" function in the view WHERE clause from a post or blog somewhere a couple of years ago but have lost track of who actually deserves the credit for the good idea.

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to build a report in BI Publisher.
The report has three section each having their own data source.
When i try to create report in BI Publisher it allows me to associate one data model per report.

  • BAM report from multiple systems...

Hi guys, just wanted to know if we can actually get the data from multiple systems and then generate a BAM report on those data??.Is it possible? and if so then can anyone show me the way.
    many thanks,
    Rajesh.

One option is create external data sources, though Oracle recommends that you only use these for data that does not change very much (since it does not go through the ADC, instead must be continually polled). http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E25054_01/dev.1111/e10224/bam_extl_data_sources.htm#CIHJFDAG
Another option is to create a simple BPEL composite that picks up the data from the various systems and sends it to BAM. In general, BAM is more efficient when data is sent to it, not when it has to get the data. (there are also other options including JMS, etc.)

    Hi Bhavesh Panchal  ,
You have to create another internal table with fields which you would like to display in the ALV output.
once you fetch the data from different tables into respective internal tables.  loop those internal tables and insert the field values to internal table which you want to display in ALV output.
Create  field catalog for the internal table created for  ALV  output.
    Hope it shall be useful.

  • SQL Report From Another  Schema

Is there anyway to select a table from another schema?I have a default schema for my application but i want each user to use their own schema.
I'm looking for something like #OWNER#.table_name but replacing #OWNER# with the name of another schema in the workspace.
    Kind Regards,
    BgUrsea
    APEX 4.0 10g XE

    Hello BgUrsea,
you could achieve this by granting the needed privileges (e.g. select, insert, update, delete) on each table in the #OWNER#-schema to your applications parsing schema.
If you can't use a direct mapping (e.g., you can't assign the schema name of a user as usernames for his application user), you probably need a mapping table in your parsing schema. Define an application item (e.g. "F_OWNER") and create a application computation that executes "On New Instance" and does something like
    SELECT schema
      FROM mapping_table
WHERE owner=v('APP_USER');If you aren't sure you always have a mapping, you might think about an application process that not only computes the value but also handles the action to be performed in case there is no mapping for a user.
But I suppose it could be easier to have a copy of you application for each user and assign the appropriate schema to each copy. That way, you don't need the mapping, you don't need to care about always using the #OWNER# when developing your application, and of course, no user can (not even accidently) access another users (or your default) schema.
