Bulk export External Activities?

Hello,
I'm using the rest api to create activities for unsubscribe.(we have some form hosted on our site and some in eloqua, I'm trying to handle an opt out on my site then make sure if i have a contact in EQ for the email that i opt them out in EQ as well. ) I can see the external activity has been added to the contact in eloqua's system. I'm now trying to use the bulk export to pull a list of Unsubscribe activities but my external activities never show up in the results.

Hi Jonas,
Activities can be exported but external activities are not exposed via the API right now. They will be eventually.
We have customers who are generating external activities and are able to export the activity information by using our External Activity Generator App (External Activity Generator). Essentially they store external activity data in a custom object which is then used to generate external activities in Eloqua. This way they have a table of exportable data that they can get to anytime. Some also use our Custom Object Exporters to export these external activities to a database. (Database – Bulk Eloqua Custom Objects Exporter )

Release of External Activities - Error

Hi all,
I am trying to release few external activities for which Info Rec field is present. I have entered all the external purchasing parameters for the external activity like Vendor, Purchasing Group, Material Group, Info Rec but it is giving me the error while releasing the external activities:
"Procurement w/o material from vendor with plant assignment not defined".
Then when i click on tick button again i get one message stating "Purchase Requisition cannot be generated for this activity"
My requirement is that when i release this external activities, it should generate a purchase requisition. I have set the Purchase Req. field to "After Release" as well but still it is not working.
Can anyone please help me with this. Hope to hear from you all.

You are right. But my requirement was when you enter Info Rec purchasing data like Vendor, Material group is copied into your external activity. Then you set the Purchase Req field to "After Release" and when you release the external activity, a Purchase Requistion is generated.
But when i do this i get the error as i described before. I tried doing what you said and that works. I have one more question for you. Do you know what the system status "EOPD" (External Operation Partially Delivered) means. What is the significance of this status and when do you get it?

Bulk Export Package Spec and Body as single file

Is there a way to bulk export the package spec and body into a single file, you can export spec and body if you choose each individual proc/package but if you just choose the spec/body individually from the connection - > packages list it only exports that part of the code. If not i will raise as an enhancement.

Have tried that and you can sort of do it however you still have to choose/select the spec/body individually so twice the overhead selescting them.

External Activities Currency carried to purchaser order

hello all
appoligies if this is the wrong area
we use external activities to create requisitions / purchase orders
we pay the vendors in multiple currencys
however the purchase order takes the currency of the vendor master record which i understand the reasons for
i wish to make the purchase order take the currency of the external activity / requisition

i see what your saying but when i am converting the requisition (which has the desired currancy) to a purchase order it is converting it to the vendor currency

Purchase order                   -EUR (vendor currancy)
i want the currencey to remain as the requisition which could be different every time

App to capture high quality video; clip; bulk export high quality?

Our students capture long videos in a high quality format (.DV), then often want to define clips within the movie, and hand them off to Compressor for compression. Unfortunatly, with the changes in Final Cut Pro X, we can find no viable way of doing that, and we've searched for hours in the app and online. The closet we found was to export stems out of the FCPX timeline using Roles:

For simply wanting to define multple clips (no combining of clips involved), this is rather tedious, but moreso, when we use this technique, indeed only the video and audio of the clips we hand off to Compressor is seen and heard, but we end up with video black on both sides of the clip, which greatly lengthens the processing time, not to mention that we then need to trim the dead air afterwards.
We tried using iMovie 11, but unlike one or more previous versions, it is no longer possible to export multiple clips.
We've downloaded Adobe Premiere, and will be testing this.
Is there an OS X app that can capture high quality (.DV?) video/audio, make clips, then bulk export to .DV on disk, that doesn't cost over $500?

I was choppy at my explanation, so let me go a little further. Maybe I do just use a DVD player to play this - but, let me explain further - maybe I'm not doing something right in creating the DVD.
I 'shared' from iMovie to iDvd - and burnt right to a DVD. Again, the movie was shaky on the computer. We played it on a DVD player, still a little shaky.. but not near as noticable - it looked pretty good. BUT - this is when the dvd stopped. I hit play, and it picked up right where it left off. I also was skipping through chapters, and it stopped all of the sudden. I had to go back to the main menu to start over. This was all done on a dvd player. Eventually, we played the rest of the video and it went ok. But, something tells me there might be a glitch in the DVD I created.... ?
Someone mentioned they had problems when exporting/burning right to dvd from iMovieHD. They said they exported out, then dragged the file into iDVD.. is that an option - if so, how would I go about doing that?

How to create and register custom views for Bulk Export

In the FAQ of "Understanding Bulk Export" chapter, it says "You can define your own view object for export. However, before you can use your view object for export, you must register
and enable it as an export object in the Setup and Maintenance, Manage Export Objects task."
Task "Manage Export Objects" does not have a create or edit option. Do I have to use a particular rol to activate this options?

As you state this is likely related to the permissions you have. Have you confirmed that you have the necessary roles mentioned in the documentation ? I think you would need at least "Application Implementation Consultant" and potentially others from the list also depending on the objects accessed.

Export external links and store them through the package function

Is possibile to export external links (like www.xxxxxxxxx.com) like images, fonts, source files in general trough package function.
Or are there other ways to do it? We need to collect all links that we inserted in our application.

PM - Comparisson of internal and external activities - performance

Dear All:
Our custumer wants to compare the performance of internal team's activities with those done by external teams.
External are normally used with service, (DIEN) material. But I can't use DIEN materials for internal activities, those are controlled normally with work centers.
Does somebody knows how can we solve the customer's problem ??

tks for the reply. We got the point now... I gave this solution to the customer, bur the problem is that they use DIEN materials for external services and work centers for internal and they want to compare both. I told that the possibilities were:
1) Use internal and external work centers, as you said
2) Use service packs, changing the control key for those external so we can use both internal and external services. For this they shoul to confirm acitivities sheets
3) Perhaps use a contract with the company as a supplier (I don't know how to deal with the costs) and use internal as "external" services. But they reply saying that even with one contract with 0,01 cost, they whould have taxes at the end of month.
They want to use DIEN material for both cases. Is that possible ? In my understanding, it's impossible.

2. Can someone give me an example business scenario where we use Primary cost activity? I understand that Planned cost will be updated as soon as i add value to thr Primary cost element defined, but how will actuals flow for this activity??

External Activity is created for service which is unplanned.
Whereas Service activity is created for Planned Service.These services are plannned already and used repetatively.while creating activtiy services are adopted from the service master same like material master.
You can get know the difference when you create both the activities itself.

General Costs activity are used mostly for Administrative purposes. Example would be travel costs incurred for site visit for Project.

Bulk Export of XMP data

I am working with 1,000,000 PDFs totaling about 1.5 Tb. The files were created elsewhere but the XMP data is useful. Is there anyway to extract the XMP data en masse? All I can think of is a script to open each file and export the metadata. Given that it can take several seconds to open a PDF, this option is not viable.
I am new to Adobe; if this information is readily available somewhere please point me to it and accept my apologies for an extraneous post.

Even though it is technically possible to export a file's metadata, I would strongly advice against trying to do it in Acrobat on such a large amount of files. From my experience, Acrobat's batch processing capabilites (especially the later versions) are ill-suited for working with large amounts of files, or with very complex scripts. One of the reasons for that is that it loads and presents (and then closes) each file it opens, which is a huge memory hog, instead of processing them silently in the background.
I would suggest creating an external tool to do this, so you're not dependent on Acrobat. I have some ideas on how this can be achieved... If you're interested, contact me privately and we could discuss it further.

NFS export external USB device fails

I am trying to NFS export a FAT32 formatted external USB device, which fails with the error:
/sbin/nfsd: Can't export /Volumes/<external>: Operation not supported (45)
I am able to export internal/HFS drives, which have the "Owners Enabled: Yes" attribute, and therefore assume I need to set the flag accordingly on my external drive.
Despite the fact that the device has been assigned a uuid (it appears to be in place in .fseventsd and running 'repair disk' echos it in syslog), I get this error when running vsdbutil:
vsdbutil: Couldn't update volume information for '/Volumes/<external>/': Invalid argument
vsdbutil: no valid volume UUID found on '/Volumes/<external>/': Invalid argument
And diskutil returns this:
Permissions are not enabled on the disk (-9973)
I attempted to add the uuid to /var/db/volinfo.database in order to set the permissions there, to no effect.
I don't believe that I am the only person who has attempted this, but I can find no evidence to the contrary. Thank you.

NFS exporting requires specific NFS serving support from the file system.
Unfortunately, the "msdos" file system implementation doesn't currently
support NFS exporting.
If you'd like that support added, I would strongly encourage filing a
bug report/enhancement request with Apple:

How to bulk export multiple PDF portfolios into folders based on the name of the original porfolio?

Hello!
I have a set of 166 PDF Portfolios. I would like to export the contents into folders named after their parent PDF portfolio names. Does anybody have an idea if there is an automated process to do this? I have no idea where to being.
The internet does not appear to have dealt with this situation before. PDF portfolios are pretty much the Devil.
I am running in a windows 7 environment with an I7 process and 32GB of RAM.

This is not something that you can set in the code I provided. There's an app-wide setting that can be set (in principle) using code, but it's not a good idea to change it, because it applies to other documents as well.
And regarding JS and CodeAcademy: It's always a good idea to try to learn more, but keep in mind that Acrobat JS is quite a niche thing, quite different from the kind of JS that is used in web-pages. You can find more information about it here:

Exporting External JARs on WAS from Webdynpro

Hello everybody,
I have posted same topic earlier also. But i can't any solution for that. Bharadwaj has suggested to make Library project and add all JARs in it and deploy on WAS. But in Library projects, we can only add JARs of Exsisting projects only.
So, what could be other options for that?

Sorry for a very very late reply. I think it is a limitation (or probably a bug ) . What i do usually is ,add it to some other project's lib folder and then take the jar from there. Since it is added as a seperate copy in ur .sda file it wont be problem after deploying. No reference exists.
Its just that u wil have a problem while adding it design time..
Its a round about way to take a jar.But it works.
And about ur question.. i doubt if u can really find the jar in the bin folder directly.. (If we add a external jar to project i cant find any jar in the project folder. I searched the .ear file but i am not able to find it. Just check if u can find it )
