ICR - Process 002 - Business Area
Hi Ralph,
how can I reconcile for business area in ICR Process 002?
In the standard table (FBICRC002A), there is not present field Business Area.
Can yuo help me?
Thank you so much.
Best regards
GiampaoloHello Rafael,
Here is some information about the "Standard Setup" for ICR. Depending on your individual requirements you may have to vary these settings:
Field Movement
Create a new field movement using transaction GCF1.
Receiver Table FBICRC002T
Sender Table ACCHD
Receiver Field Sender Table Sender field
DOCDT ACCIT_GLX BLDAT
GSBER ACCIT_GLX GSBER
RACCT ACCIT_GLX ALTKT
RASSC ACCIT_GLX VBUND
REFNR ACCIT_GLX XBLNR
Note that this will result in the field XBLNR not being changeable any more. This is SL standard behaviour because this means that if you changed XBLNR in the original document you would not get an update of your SL copy of the document. If you want to be able to change XBLNR in the FI document you could leave sender field for REFNR blank and implement an exit populating the field with XBLNR when the document is first posted.
Posting Indicator
I recommend setting this to 3. You will have to build up the initial set of data at some point using GCU1N. And you also want new postings to be transferred.
Check independent of posting
NO! You should not set this indicator. This is only relevant if you set posting indicator to 2 and you have implemented e.g. validations.
Write line items
YES!!! You need line items as the basis for your reconciliation.
Required posting
NO! You should not set this flag.
Best regards,

NEW GL: Customer/Vendor Line items cannot be displayed per business area
Hello ECC 6.0 Masters!
We have implemented Standard Document Splitting by Business area(BUSA). See below scenario..
ENTRY VIEW
PK Account Segment Amount
01 Customer 100
50 Expense BUSA1 60-
50 Expense BUSA2 40-
GL VIEW
PK Account Segment Amount
01 CustomerReconAcct BUSA1 60
01 CustomerReconAcct BUSA1 40
50 Expense BUSA1 60-
50 Expense BUSA2 40-
However after implementation we discovered that because the Customer/Vendor BUSA is blank in entry view, we now cannot derive reports that are normally based on the BUSA of Customer/Vendor line item, which we used to be able to do prior to implementing NEW GL.
Some of them are below:
1. Debtor Ageing Analysis (Standard)
2. Customer/Vendor line items per BUSA (Standard)
3. Several other Sublegder based custom reports we have that neeed to be categorized by BUSA
My question now is..Is there a way to derive these Business Area information under Vendor and Customer account to produce our reports? Especially for the Ageing which is key to the business process of my client.
I hope somebody there has experienced this before. thanks!
AndrewHi
You will not get ageing reports based on BA after new gl migration. You need to bring the info from the new gl tables. one of the easiest ways is to get the info from the table FAGL_SPLINFO by passign BSEG-BELNR. For defining ageing reports in new gl use t code FKI3 and FDI3 for Vendors and Customers respectively.

GR/IR Automatic Clearing for Different Business areas items
Hello All,
we have different business areas, and some times we create a PO for all business areas and invoice it in a specific business area
in F.13 automatic clearing:
for GR/IR account
Documents with different business area cannot be cleared.
any idea to solve this issue is appreciated,Thanks for your reply,
I've tried such a solution with more parameters ( EBELN, XREF3 and EBELP)
but in F.13 :
- the document cannot be cleared when >>> selecting GR/IR account special process.
if we treat GR account as a normal GL account, I mean without selecting GR/IR account special process.
the document can be clear
i want to be able to clear the document with selecting GR/IR field ( is it possible )
and if it is not allowed, do we will face a problem by clearing GR account without selecting GR/IR parameter ??
Many Thanks -
Structuring a Business Area for Reporting Periods and Points in Time
Dear all,
I'm in the process of designing my first business area for discoverer.
The database is for people staying in accommodation over various periods.
(Anything from individual days to periods of 15 years!!)
The reports I'm producing fall into two categories:
(a) Reports on periods of time such as:
Accomodation days during a year broken down by Region
Trend of accommodation days per month during a two year period
(b) Reports on a particular point in time such as:
Number of people in accommodation on a particular day
I'm trying to work out how to structure the business area.
If I think about requirement (a), I'm inclined to create a view which
splits up periods into one month chunks (the smallest period I think I need).
By this I mean having a view which gives me a row for every month for which any period of accommodation is active. This makes reporting on a monthly basis fairly easy.
If I think about (b), I'm inclined to create a view which leaves the accommodation periods as single rows and then calculate a boolean field which indicates whether that accomodation is active on the date in question.
It seems that these two requirements need different structures in the business area. Maybe it's best to create two folders which draw on the two different views.
Any thought would be appreciated.
Regards
SuhadaHi,
As you would probably expect, it all depends on your requirement and the table design.
You can create a date hierarchy in Discoverer that contains the day, month, year levels and this will make it easy to create reports with totals aggregated at these levels.
However, if your table contains, for example, the start and end dates when people move in and out of accommodation, then you will need to have a period table so that you can report on the months between the start and end dates. The period table will list all past and future months and you can join this to your data to obtain totals for all the periods.
If you need to have reports that display zeros or nulls for periods where there is no data, then you will need to outer join your data with a period table.
The decision on whether to use views or folders and joins in the EUL depends on the complexity of your data model. If you need to join many tables together to produce a single report, then you should consider putting some or all the joins into database views.
Hope that helps,

Error in VL02N: Business Area 701 does not exist
Hi experts,
There's an error that occurs while trying to post a delivery in VL02N, a display log is opened with the message "Business Area X does not exist", the Business Area "1701" is already created, nevertheless, when I try to post the delivery I cheked the Business Area in the Financial Processing tab and it appears as "701" instead of "1701".
I hope any of you can help me.
Thanks in advance
Eloy Venegashi,
For the Sales Area, check the rule for determining the Bzness Area(S&D>Basic Functions>Account Assgmnt/Costing>Business Area Account Assignment>...) and make sure ur bzness area '1701' is assigned to the sales area/or any combination that you've defined in the rule.
Let us know, if this helps?
Reward, if helpful.

Dhanush.S.THi Dhanush,
Configure the SAP Business Area
The functions of business area is to create balance sheets and profit and loss statement below the company code level. It functionality can be duplicated using Profit center accouting.
OX03 - Creation of new Business Area
New Business Areas can be created anytime in the Enterprise structure in the IMG. However, in the year of creation, no comparison can be done with the previous year data as the Business Area did not exist in the previous year and there are no postings in the previous year.
After create the new Business Areas, new G/L accounts should be created for :-
Sales
Cost of Sales
External Process Cost
Consumption
Material Change
Purchase
Cost of Difference for Production
Factory Output for Production Order
Next create a default account assignment to maintained the link for cost center and business area.
Transaction OKB9
Enter the Company Code and Cost Element
Cocd Cost elem. Acct assignment detail
Enter the details as per business area/valuation area
BA Cost ctr
Guess the above helps.

CAN NOT IMPORT BUSINESS AREA AS IT SAYS - JOINS NOT FOUND WHERE REQUIRED
We have recently migrated from Disco 4.1.48.08 to 10.1.2
Everything looks ok - we are able to look at existing workbooks and business areas. And we can export business areas successfully.
However
When we try to import some business areas it returns - JOINS NOT FOUND WHERE REQUIRED and fails. This is now causing a problem with how we promote from our test/uat and prod environments.
any ideas ?Here's some information from Support that helped me...
Discoverer has many options on exporting and importing objects. Entire End User Layers, Entire Business Areas or only selected objects could be exported. To simplify the process of exporting and importing Business Areas, it is suggested that the export and import process should be done with entire Business Areas. The reason why it is not recommended that selected objects are exported and imported as a norm is to simplify maintenance.
It is still possible to export and import selected objects, but a knowledgeable Administrator is recommended to head the procedure. The process could get
very complex and difficult to manage.
Some Additional Notes:
- Join conditions are exported, but are not indicated as an object. Join conditions are only exported ** if ** the joining folders are exported.
- If the ‘refresh’ option is performed in Discoverer Administrator on an object and the underlying object on the database is not available, the object is dropped from the EUL. It is of utmost importance that the objects exist on the underlying database before the ‘refresh’ option is executed.
- Functions and Workbooks are not exported when exporting an entire Business Area. Functions and Workbooks have to be exported separately.
The first bullet is what was giving me this error "JOINS NOT FOUND WHERE REQUIRED". I was unable to do a full export - another unrelated error, so I came up with an alternate solution. I created a new BA that only contained the standard folders that my two custom BA's referenced - by JOINS and inclusion in my complex folders. I exported all 3 and they imported into the new instance with no issue.

Business Area (GSBER) control in Automatic Payment Program
Hi everyone,
I'm implementing a payment process in a company in which I have to different Business Areas and Payments are processed separately but both use transaction F110.
How can I restrict a Business Area to create a proposal just with documents of its own and not with documents of the other Business Area?
Authorization Objects are the only solution? Which?
Thanks!Thanks Gaurav
That may be an option but still depends on the user. If he forgets to settle de Business Area as an additional selection he may pay invoices of the other Business Area.
Is there any way to default those Additional Values for certain users?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks again -
Business Area field should not get translate while doing allocations in co
Dear All,
In ecc 6.0 when we will be allocating expenses through assessment and Distribution the system credits sender cost center and debits receiver cost center, the same will be applicable for Business Area also.
But my client is having plant =business area for which they are making financial statements business area wise.
The client wants its business area not to get affected by above allocations ,Is there any method of restricting costs to remain in same business area and not getting translated to another business area.
Example : cost center profit center business area
expenses 1011 1001 101
allocation from cctr to cctr 1012 which is having pctr 1002 and business area 102
expenses 1012 1002 102
So my requirement is the system should not update business area 102
Thanks and regards
vijayHi Vijay,
Profit Center is derived basing on Assignments. If you have assigned a Profit Center in the Cost Center Master
Data, obviously for whatever the postings that take place in that Cost Center, will be posted to Profit Center also
(Statistical).
In your case, Cost Center 1011 and 1012 have been assigned to different Profit Centers 1001 and 1002. So,
conceptually what the system is doing is correct.
You want to restrict the postings to happen to Business Areas. I suggest you, this is not problem of
stopping/restricting the transaction postings but You have to restructre your Cost Centers and Profit Centers.
It's rather a Business Process / Structure change required than technical requirement in the system by restricting
the postings.
Pls revert back for further discussion...

Business area is not being specified in cost center master.
Hello Professional friends,
When i specify Business area in existing cost center master data, it appears an error massage - "Field change Business Area is not possible (transaction data already exists)"
I tried to change the validity by analysis Period, when i do this, it appears anothe error " No further processing (contact your system administrator)"
Its user critical requirement that he want to specify business for all new and existing cost center.
there is no problem with new cost center.
Waiting for valuable suggestion.Hello,
The rule is that if you make any actual or planned date within the current year, you cannot make any changes to any of the organizational units within the cost center master.
From the next year, you can remove / change the business are within the cost center master, provided:
You have to change the validity period of the cost center master by doing:
Go to KS02
Edit ==> Analysis Period
put your cursor on the valid from e.g. 01.01.1900 and click F5 (the line gets selected and become blue)
Click on Other Analysis period and then change the analysis period. The new analysis period must be starting with the first date of the next fiscal year.
Now change or remove the business area.
For this year, surely you cannot change the business area, since there postings.
Do not try to write any ABAP program to change the standard in order avoid the business area change error, it would end up data inconsistencies.
Thanks,

Automatic Business Area Derivation Rule for Vendor Line Item in MIRO
Hello Experts,
We trying to use Business Area concept for our client.
I have completed all configuration setting for the business are derivation like
1. Creation of Business Area
2. Assign Business area to Plant / Division (OMJ7)
3. Business area determination from sales area (TVTA)
4. Business Area by Sales Area
5. Checked Field Status Group for Customer and Vendor Reconciliation Account
It is working for for compelete sales process and in Procurement cylce it is picking business for MIGO transaction both the line items.
But
In MIRO (Purchase invoice posting) it is automatically taking Business area to the GR/IR line item and it not taking Business area for the vendor line item (automatically)
I comes know that there is a business area derivation rule for this to happen automatically.
Can you please propose the soulution for the automatic derivation of business in MIRO for vendor line item.
Regards,
ChalapathiHi,
I do mot think there is a BA derivation rule for MIRO.
The best you can do is:
1. Use a user exit or enhancement point for deriving the BA from the GR/IR line and populate that in the vendor line
or
2. You make BA as a mandatory field in the field status group for the vendor reconciliation account. This will then force the user update the BA. We use this option. This is so because at times, the vendor item may need a different business area than the GR/IR line.
Cheers.
