If you have a Creative Cloud subscription and want to learn more about Business Catalyst, read on.
    What is Business Catalyst?
Business Catalyst is a web hosting platform that lets web designers  host, build, and sell websites to clients. A Creative Cloud membership includes free hosting on Business Catalyst for five sites. You must  install and use Muse or Dreamweaver CS6 to publish your free sites.
Where does Muse and Dreamweaver CS6 fit in?
You use Muse or Dreamweaver to create and update websites. You use Business Catalyst to host them.
For more info and tutorials on using Muse or Dreamweaver with Business Catalyst, see the following articles:

  • Web Viewer-only renditions for Creative Cloud Subscribers using v26

Hi does anyone know if it is possible, or will be possible to create Web Viewer-only renditions if you are a Creative Cloud / Single edition DPS user using the latest v26 build?
Most articles don't clairify which membership option their instructions pertain to. -Thanks!

Creative Cloud / Single Edition customers don't have access to the web viewer at all, so the web viewer only rendition feature isn't applicable.

  • Amazing 40% annual price increase for Creative Cloud

Well, Adobe is off to monopoly pricing.
I got an offer to suspiciously save in the new year. I could save "$30 a month".
This was off the new price for Creative cloud: Raised to $69.99 per month for this new year!
That is _$20_ more than the previous year, regular prices both.
It's slightly better if you do the bait and switch for previous customers.
However, 40% increase in only the second year of this CC program is an amazing display of offshore-orientated management.
Completely unfair, and in a special way idiotic, don;t you think?

Looks like the "for teams" plan is pretty terrible then. If it costs more than the individual license plan paid monthly, that sucks.
I'm not sure what kind of programs you are looking at on the mac as alternatives to adobe, but I know I am very concerned about the next couple of years when pricing doesn't look like it will expand to include sensible solutions for small businesses and small business contractors.
There does appear to be a very 'now-centric' thinking on the CC pricing that simply does not mesh with the thinking of users. It might be justifiable for some big businesses where financial decisions are made by people with budgets and little knowledge of how Adobe Anything works, but in circumstances where the paying decisions are made by the types of people who have spent countless hours studying and learning and in many cases planning for the future with the creation of a business, it's quite plainly a bad financial proposition.
The payment plan for Photoshop and LR are pretty good at $9.99/month, but the primary attraction there is for PS hobbyists and stay-at-home mom's wanting to learn something useful.
There's no real option there for serious professionals either using a basic 2D suite (PS + AI + maybe one other) or a more advanced suite (like Production Premium).
The logic of drawing customers in to CS6 packages that were well priced and well suited to people who could afford to upgrade every couple of versions and then locking the door on them is bizarre.

  • What solutions are there for Adobe Cloud subscribers/designers who are using/have been using Adobe s

What solutions are there for Adobe Cloud subscribers/designers who are using/have been using Adobe software but have run into system requirement inadequacies etc. . . Basically, I have a new mac and CS6 runs fine. But my old macbook can only run CS5.5. Because I'm a subscriber my Adobe CS5.5  updated automatically. What happens when one day a year or two from now (or sooner) my MAC won't support the latest version of my CS subscription? Is there a way for cloud subscribers to subscribe to a legacy or an older version of CS?

    Hi Wildeboer420,
Its my understanding that previous versions will still be acessible for users going forward, I copied the following from the FAQ
I am a Creative Cloud member using the CS6 applications included in my membership. Will I lose access to CS6 when CS7 becomes available in Creative Cloud?
No, if you have downloaded and installed the CS6 versions of the applications, you will continue to have access to them without interruption as long as your membership remains active. When the CS7 versions become available, you will have up to a year to download and install them and they will run on your machine along with CS6 versions.
    Hope that helps,
    -Dave

  • A few questions before I buy a new iMac/Mac mini and sign up for Creative Cloud.

    Hello Everyone,
I am looking to purchase a new Apple computer and sign up for Creative Cloud within the next week and I have a few questions that should be answered before I proceed.
My wife and I own a business and we will be using the CS6 apps to create brochures, Constant Contact mailings, product package inserts, edit product photography for print and web use, and short HD how-to videos. We are not graphics professionals or power users and wont be doing anything too complicated.
Any help and answers will be greatly appreciated.
I will start with the hardware questions first:
I am trying to decide between the iMac and the Mac mini.
The iMac is a 2.7Ghz Quad-core Intel core i5 and comes with 4GB of memory that is expandable to 16GB, which I will do for sure. It comes with a Radeon HD 6770M graphics card with 512MB of GDDR5 memory(not upgradable), and a 1TB HDD that runs at 7200RPM. This unit meets the specs required.
The 2.5Ghz Mac Mini comes with 4GB of memory that is expandable to 8GB, I will also do this. It has a Radeon HD 6630M graphics card with 256MB of GDDR5 memory(not upgradable), and a 500GB HDD that runs at 5400RPM. This unit meets all the spec(I think) except for the speed of the HDD.
Question: Will the mini run the software without too much of an issue considering the speed of the HDD?
Question: Will the iMac run the software significantly better to justify the price difference?
I already have 1 mini(purchased 4 months ago, with the same specs listed above) and will be purchasing a second computer for my wifes desk. If the mini will run CS6 fine, that is great and we can save a few bucks. If my mini will not run CS6 well, I will get the iMac for her desk as she will be doing the bulk of the work in that regard anyway.
Now a couple of software questions.
After reading hundreds of reviews and forum posts over the last few days I have seen many people having this or that issue. It seems to me that most of the issues are because of upgrades from Lion to Mountian Lion after installing CS6 first or trying to open CS3,4,5 files in CS6.
If you want to know what issues have me concerned take a look at just this one forum:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2012/07/adobe-cs-apps-mountain-lion-no-known-issues.html
Similar issues are discussed in the Apple forums as well as many other places around the web.
I am not a computer professional but I know enough to maintain my systems and keep them running smoothly.
We do not have any Adobe software installed on my mini and will not be opening any files from previous versions of Adobe product in the new CS6 software. These will be a clean installs on pristine systems running fully updated Mountian Lion OS's on both machines and creating new files from scratch.
Question: Should I be expecting any issues like the ones I have read in the forums and blogs or are these just the normal things that happen when upgrading to new software with multiple hardware configurations?
My feeling is that we will not be having too much of a problem due to the clean installs and no files from previous versions.
Next up, the Creative Cloud(CC) FAQ states that you can install on 2 machines but can't open stuff at the same time.
Question: Does this mean we can't be using any CS6 apps at the same time or just not using the same app at the same time?
Example: PS and PS on both machines at same time = No, PS on one and Dreamweaver on the other at the same time=Yes?
The CC FAQ page says Adobe will add Lightroom 4 later in 2012 while the main CC page lists it as available now.
    Question: Which is true?
My mini is registered to me, with my name, iTunes account, Apple ID etc.
Question: Do I need to do the initial set-up of the new machine with all my information to ensure the CS6 suite works on both machines? Do the computers need to be registered(as far as Apple configuration is concerned) to same person for them to work on one CC account or can I install CS6 on any 2 machines regardless of how they were initially set-up?
This may seem like a silly question but I want to avoid any problems before they happen.
Well, those are all of my questions at the moment. To anyone who made it this far in my looooong post, Thank You so much for your time. I appreciate your expertise and knowledge and hope that you can help me make this decision.
    Cheers,
    Alex Bogdan

    Alex,
I'll try and answer your questions as best I can.
    Qn 1 Which Mac.
Ans:- As I understand it both units will run Adobe CS6.
Which one really depends on what you wand from CS6. If you are looking for high end demand and performance, then I would go for the IMac
Your Specs for the Imac are right. However if you buy your IMac straight from Apple there are even higher specs.
              You can get:-
3.4 GHz i7 processor rather than the i5
2GB video card as opposed to a 1Gb video card.
Of course such a model will cost you more.
In the end it is needs compared with money to spend. That is only a decision you cam make.
Q2:- Will the higher cost for the Imac justify copst.
Ans:- Again it depends on what demands you intend to make on the hardware and software.
But I note you have a business and if that businees expects to high demand and high speedy performance then I suspect the Imac would be more able to provide your needs.
Again only you will know the answer to that.
    Q3:- Questions about CS6 reliability
Ans:- I have been with Adobe for way over 10 years.
Speaking, only for myself, it is the most reliable software on the market.
It is true that if you look down this form, like any other and I am thinking about the Apple discussions forum, you will find numerous instances of problems.
Again this is only my opinion, but although all these problems are real for the individuals:-
First it is not clear why they have the problem e.g. what have they done or not done.
Second, they are in the minority of the total users using the hardware / software.
The only problem I am aware of with CS6 is Acrobat X. I understand it has been sorted Adobe, however it cost me so much work I have removed it from my system and reverted to Acrobat 9
So what I am saying is that there are only two comapnies I rely 100% on: They are Adobe and Apple.
So if you are happy with my opinion I would not worry about Adobe CS6
    Qn 4:- CS6 0n 2 machines.
Ans:- Yes you will not be able to run the same program similtaneosly.
I believe, if it is important that you do run the same program together, that you can acquire a further licience from Adobe to do that.
You would need to contact Adobe about that.
    Qn 5:- Lightroom 4
Ans:- Lightroom is now available as part of Creative Cloud.
Qn 6:- Set up for individual machines
Ans:- I do not believe you do. Once you have set up your Creative Cloud account you go to the apps site and download the apps for each machine.
Each machine downloads the apps and your machine and the apps are registered by Adobe.
Here is something that you may want to know:-
Because I was so unhappy loosing all the Acrobat data with Acrobat X I ended up deleting Acrobat X
However as far as Creative Cloud is concered Acrobat X is still on my machine.
It is not a problem for me because I am happy with Acrobat 9, it fullfils my needs and has not crashed and lost me all my bookmarks.
              However here is the point:-
Adobe, when there was a problem with Acrobat X requested that no-one deletes the application.
Though I do not know for certain I believe registration of the apps you have with Creative Cloud are registered with Creative Cloud in their database. Therefore were you to delete an app, it will still be registered with Creative Cloud and you will not be able to download a further copy even though the app is no longer on your    machine.
Therefore it maybe not a good idea to delete an app when you no longer have a use for it. If you want it back I suspect you will have to contact Adobe Support
    Personal Comment:-
It is true many unfortunately have had all sorts of problems, including me with Acrobat X.
That said, Creative Cloud in my view has been a major advance in how Adobe delivers software. I have no regrets with signing up to Creative Cloud and I expect to remain with it.
Hope all of that goes some way to answering your questions.

  • Business Catalyst and Creative Cloud - I'm completely lost - help!

Okay, I am a Creative Cloud subscriber. It is my understanding that I can host five websites with Business Catalyst. However, I did not design my site using either Dreamweaver or Muse and so I just want to ftp my files into one of my sites. But I can't figure out how to access a control panel for Business Catalyst through Creative Cloud (the cloud control panel just keeps telling me to download Dreamweaver and Muse). I tried access it without the cloud, through Business Catalysts website directly, but all it would do is sign me up for a trial version as my Adobe login did not work for Business Catalyst. This whole system is completely confusing to me - I feel like Alice tumbling down the rabbit hole.
What am I missing? Is there a panel that I can access through the Cloud that will allow me to ftp my files into one of my sites? Or, if I go to Business Catalyst directly is there a way to link it back to my Creative Cloud panel? How do I set up the 5 sites I get with being a Cloud member if I'm not using Dreamweaver or Muse?
Any information or point in the right direction would be helpful!
    Thanks,
    Deona

  • Business Catalyst and Creative Cloud not Working

I have a $2000 Premiere Business Catalyst Partner account.  I set up my BC account and my Adobe ID years ago under different e-mails.  When I tried to integrate my BC and Adobe Creative Cloud e-mails I got an error saying that I have to create a new Adobe ID.
I created a new ID.  Now with Dreamweaver I'm getting the following error that I don't have a Partner Account!!!  I do have a partner account, it's just under a different e-mail.  Am I to stomach the fact that I will not be ablt to use my BC account on Creative Cloud simply because they are under 2 different e-mails?  I've been waiting to use BC and Creative Cloud for months, what a dissapointment.  This takes all the appeal out of Dreamweaver, Muse, and more, if I can't use Business Catalyst with Creative Cloud.  Please help....

I stumbled upon the solution. In addition to downloading Creative Cloud, I needed to go back to the website and  download trials for the programs I want to use--Photoshop and Lightroom. Once I did that, I was in business. Would save trouble if that was made clear on the download site.

  • In what ways will Creative Cloud subscribers benefit from Adobe's purchase of Fotolia?

I read an article linked below on Adobe's purchase of Fotolia and initially was excited.  But as I continued reading, I found that Fotolia is not planned to be a free service to Adobe Creative Cloud subscribers. Subscriber will have to pay for images and video just as they would with any other stock image/video service.  My question is, as an Adobe Creative Cloud user, why would I cancel my current stock image/video service and decide to use Fotolia?
Thank you for taking the time to address my concern.
Adobe to Acquire Fotolia: Adds Stock Content Marketplace to Creative Cloud

I would guess that maybe there will be integration between CC’s new Library function and Fotolia’s systems, perhaps Adobe wants to use their content management to actually host CC’s library content or maybe they just want Fotolia images to show up in the CC Library area.  Or maybe there won’t be any integration and they are just diversifying their revenue stream.

  • Touch Apps for Creative Cloud Users

I recently took a survey for Adobe and in that survey there was a question asking if I knew that Touch apps were available to Creative Cloud subscribers as part of our membership.  Maybe I misread, because this definitely doesn't seem to be the case.  If not, I think it's a bit ridiculous that people willing to pay such a high monthly cost would be asked to fork up an extra $10 for a mobile version of the software that seems included in the Creative Suite.

The Touch Apps are not included with any of the Suites or Master Collection.
If you purchase three of the Touch Apps and have an annual Creative Cloud membership you will receive on free month of membership.

  • How will the scheduled changes in DPS affect Creative Cloud Subscribers effective May 01, 2015?

I would think that with Adobe's public announcement to retire DPS SE, the company would have the courtesy to inform its Creative Cloud subscribers, who seemingly will be affected, of the impact the change will have on them. I am calling on Adobe to address its customers concerns without further delay.

Here are two threads to look at:
The end of DPS Single Edition
What is going on with DPS?
Single Edition, SE, apps are available to CC members until 1 May 2015. These apps will remain on the App store but will be unable to be updated after 1 May 2015. That means they will not run on any new version of iOS.
There is now one DPS license. Pricing is done on a per client basis. Click the request for consultation link in Digital Publishing Suite Help | DPS pricing options to receive a price estimate for your projects.
The alternatives to using DPS are using a competing product (outlined in the threads above), using a tool such as PhoneGap (html5, css, javascript hybrid app) or Appcelerator Titanium (native development), learn/hire/contract a developer for native development, and fixed-layout epub.
Others have suggested partnering with someone who was a top tier license to continue to keep your apps current.

  • OT: Adobe is considering new pricing models for Creative Cloud

Adobe is considering new pricing models for Creative Cloud. Please excuse me if someone posted this already.
    http://photorumors.com/2013/06/16/adobe-is-considering-new-pricing-models-for-creative-clo ud/#ixzz2WRiE1dLX

Next year they will bring back perpetual license for customers prepared to pay over the top prices.  Microsoft has done it so Adobe and others will just copy them.  Who said there is morality in business?

  • I'm in the trial period for Creative Cloud - I have about 19 days to go on Photoshop CC on my iMac.  Can I use the same CC trial on a second machine?  Specifically on a Windows 7 machine?

I'm in the trial period for Creative Cloud - I have about 19 days to go on Photoshop CC on my iMac.  Can I use the same CC trial on a second machine?  Specifically on a Windows 7 machine?

Nothing personal to you or Rajshee, but this is exactly why I absolutely despise these "community forums" (not just Adobe but any company).  I called the Tech Support phone line today after digging and digging for a phone number, and they told me the exact opposite, and they did it a lot faster than it was possible to get a forum response.  (That's really not personal, because you can't control that, but it's a fact.)
Their answer: As long as I'm signed in with the same ID, I can try, say, Photoshop CC on my iMac at home and also try Acrobat Pro CC on my Windows 7 machine at work.  Same account, same login, one trial.
This makes complete sense to me as I'm financially on the hook (potentially) for the same package.  If I give away my login to someone else, which I wouldn't do, I'm still on the hook.  This is why the cloud approach to software is such genius and I applaud it.
BTW, 99% of the "community forum" wrong answers come on Microsoft sites, so don't feel bad.

  • Really aggressive marketing campaign for creative cloud

today my Lightroom informed me that there is an update, and asked me if I would like to download the update. I answered "yes" and was taken to the Adobe website. But, instead of being taken to the Adobe Lightroom download page as has happened with all of the previous updates, this time I was taken to a page about creative cloud. I don't want creative cloud. I only want to update my desktop version. So I tried clicking on the way for the desktop version, which is hidden away down in the bottom right corner of the screen. And that takes me to create a cloud. So I tried going to downloads for Lightroom. And I get taken to creative cloud.
I eventually had to call up Adobe on the phone in order to be able to update my desktop version of Lightroom. I let the agent I spoke with know it was very annoying to be subject to this obviously aggressive marketing campaign for creative cloud. When we were done with the call I thanked him for helping me do on the phone what I couldn't do on the website.  I also let him know that  it seems like Adobe is trying very hard to steer people to be creative cloud option and away from the desktop option.  I also let him know that if Adobe ever does away with the desktop version and the creative cloud version is the only alternative I am gone as a customer. I will use Apple photos or some other product. I will not be forced into a subscription-based service against my will.
