Business Catalyst Help | Defining InContext Editing editable regions using any code editor

This is what I meant by shape.
Normally, I drag out a rectangle with Muse,then set it's background fill so that it can turn in to a object which I can change the states for the button. I published my site with several this kind of links and I want to change it whenever possible in the in broswer editing. However, at first, when go to in browser editing, this object is completely not editable. After I added in the attributes of the Editable Regions,
<div ice:editable="*"></div> I get an full editable functions.
For example in my site, I have a rectangle with an image background to it,with an external link. And after I added the
ice:editable="*" in the div tag,I got to edit my so called "button".
Keep in mind that this had a link to it.
After I click edit, a full control showed up, so I try to select the phot and insert link ,hoping that it could add a link to the photo.
However, after I specifiy the adress, the photo is gone and a text link is left behind. I can still add back in the photo but I just can't make it a linked photo.
And what's eventually left behind isn't the linked photo, but a linked text.
The main question I'm wondering is that if I'm able to change the link of a image through in broswer editing,or the link of a regular shape like a rectangle, so that I can always update the link of the objects through buisness catalyst and when user clicking the photo/shape, they can be brought to an adress.
But it seems like I only can change the link for a text.

As long as the page is not a template, all these neat new edit-features of Dreamweaver work without problems. But as soon as I create a template and define an editable region with the Business Catalyst Tag {tag_pagecontent}, the content put inside this regions is no longer editable in Live-View. Is this a bug or has it just been forgotten to implement?

Business Catalyst Help | Send an email campaign

If you are using links in your email campaigns to populate web forms on your site then you should be using the URL module (ie - ) in conjunction with link parameters. So-- if you have a link in your campaign to "get in touch with us" then the link should be similar to: http://yoursite.com/get-in-touch/?name=Joe Shmo&email=[email protected]
You can use campaign tags to render names and email address into your links like above. THEN, on your BC site you can use the URL module to read any parameters in the url. So, if your form is at /get-in-touch on your site, you can pull the name that is passed into the url as a parameter from our email link and it can be a value of a form field.
Or, for email:
Your form fields might have different names but you can us the URL Module in the value of the form field to have it autopopulate.
For your tell-a-friend emails you can edit that email layout by going logging into your BC admin panel and going to Site Manager > System Emails > Tell A Friend
You should see the tags and which should output the right name and link to that item that they are being told about. Make sure those tags are in your Tell-A-Friend email.

What 'redeem code' are you expecting, and why do you think that you need one ? iTunes gift cards are country-specific (they can only be redeemed/used in the country in which they were issued), if they aren't available in your country then you won't be able to get one. You shouldn't need a gift code in order to update an app.

Muse, Business Catalyst, and client text editing
Can Muse websites have client text editability if published and hosted with business catalyst?
Talk about making apple pie complicated. I explored the idea of using ICE features within Muse pages. As it turns out, I discovered a lot of things.
1. It could be done.
2. It will get wiped out if you update the page in Muse when the page is republished.
So I tried the following (going around my elbow to get to my rear side.)
1. Created my page (PG 1).
2. Created a second Muse page (PG2). This contained the my ICE DIV and content holder.
3. On PG 1, I did my page layout and then embedded in the center of the page an iFrame html code which pulled through PG 2.
4. Now, when I make updates to the PG 1, the client-allowed section was not effected. To update the PG 2 text using ICE you opened it through BC Insite Editing.
The only drawback is the ICE editable text inside the iFrame must stay inside the iframe's opening dimensions you set (otherwise you have to increase it to fit the content or turn on the scrolling feature.)
5. I wasn't sure, so I uploaded the ICE js folder to my BC hosted site and then linked PG 2 through the header scripts placement.
Tested it and it worked. I was able to use the Edit and the Repeat Section function using the Insite Editor. I did not turn on the "enable online content editing" button as described.
Like I said... complicated apple pie... but it gets the job done. Allows me to update PG without losing my client's edits. -

Ok, I can't seem to find a straight answer for this question anywhere online without something else I find contradicting it.
PLEASE can someone tell me if my clients can edit text and images on Muse sites within Business catalyst, admin?
Ido not care if it does not revert the changes to the muse application on my mac. I just want my clients to be able to maintain there text and images without contacting me.
If and when the design needs to be changed on the original muse file, I will simply update the Muse file to correspond with the site online then make the further changes after that.
I REALLY want to use Muse to create websites for my clients but if they can't update image/text content remotely then It's not going to work for me and 90% of freelance designers.
Please can someone clear this up for me.

Hi Kevin,
I assume that you have created your site through Muse. In this case, by default, File Manager is disabled to prevent the risk of accidental content overwrites since there is no roundtrip between Muse and the online editor.
If you wish to enable the File Manager, edit your account settings (by clicking on your name on the top right corner and selecting My Details) and check the Enable online content editing box.
This will enable several options into your menu, including the file manager.

Hi Sarah,
I have checked the site under your account. It appears you're a Creative Cloud user and you have published the site using Adobe Muse application.
The online content editing is disabled by default for sites published through Muse to BC and hence the Pages tab doesn't appear for you under Site Manager.
However, you can always enable the Online Content editing feature by logging into the site admin -> going to the My Details section (by hovering over your name at the top right) and enable the option as indicated in the screenshot below.
Please refer to the following post for a reason as to why the option is incompatible with Muse.

To answer your second query, the reason why the Modules aren't available in your site is because the site is under webBasics plan that does not contain the Events and News modules. The 5 free BC sites that you receive with Creative Cloud subscription are webBasics. However, you can always login to your Partner portal here - http://www.businesscatalyst.com/Admin/Index.aspx?to=PartnerPortal and create any number of trial sites with a higher plan that you may later choose to upgrade to a paid version.

I can not figure out how to edit the blog layout. I would like the layout to have several columns and fonts that match the rest of the site. I tried importing the site into DW, but I couldn't locate the modulestylesheet. I thought it would be much simpler to edit the main layout of the blog, but it has become very frustrating.

Installing Messaging Server 5.2. I thought there was an residues of iPlanet DS 5.1 or something and tried to get past this by installing on clean workstation. No help on that. All install options are default. I have also tried with the values i would
