Business Configuration in ByD

Hi, experts,
     Business Adaptation Catalog (BAC)
     Business Configuration Content(BCC)
     Business Configuration Object(BCO)
     Business Configuration Set
     Business Topic and Business Options
     When to use standard BCOs and When to use custom BCOs and Why?
     All about the business configuration.
     It is still hard for me to use them efficiently because I do not understand the relationship among them and how to use them.
     Please enlighten me about the Business Configuration Feature in ByD.
     Please provide some simple use case that can help me understand the business configuration more logically.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Fred.
PS. Please think of me as someone who don't know nothing about Business Configuration in ByD.

Hi Elsen,
If you are trying to run B1I and B1iS, they are incompatable on the same machione. That said, I am not clear what type of scenario you are attempting? If the incoming data is in the form of a SBO Object, you can confirm that the action happened on the sending system, also do the same for the reverse on the receiver system.
If the sender system completed the task, then you have setup the inbound criteria or SLD incorrectly therefore not triggering B1i.
I hope this helps you,
Mike

  • Business Configuration - Task to Set Default Logistics Area

    Hello!
    I created a customer-specific solution with a BO Extension. The BO Extension includes a field logisticsArea and that field should have a default value, that is defined by the user.
    The difficult part ist, that the user should be able to set a default logistics area. We thought about making a task in the business configuration, where the user has to define the default value for the implementation project.
    Is this possible? How would you provide default value setting?
    Kind regards,
    Christine Toblier

    Hi, thank you for your answer!
    Maybe the label identification is missunderstanding. This is the key value of the code list data type. The second column should be the Default logistic area. I defined the input field of this column as an OVS.
    The problem is that i cannot enter a new value for the key and so a cannot create new default values. In the UI the Input field for the Key is defined to be of type "Input Field". But it is displayed as drop down list. Just want to have a Input field, where i can enter 01 or 02.
    I dropped the user column, because i thought it is not relevant for this use case. Can you please explain, why I need to have a user specific setting? Is it possible to have just one default logistic area for every user?
    Kind regards,
    Christine Toblier

  • Business configuration view - not assigned

    I am currently working on one extension field where users could change dropdown values.
    Currently what I have is business configuration object, business configuration set and business configuration view. Then dropdown field type is this business configuration object and everything works. Problem comes, when I want to edit those values. I assign business configuration view of that object to ImplementationProjects Work center view (I saw example in tutorial of SAP – documentation). But then in Business configuration work center and implementation projects when I click my scoping question and option I receive this strange error (see screenshot) (although the activity is in project)
    Do you have any solution for this?
    Or what is your way of implementing dropdowns that can be edited?
    Have been strugling with this thing for 2 weeks now, any kind of advice or help I would really appreciate.

    Barry,
    You should ideally have assigned Business systems in ur QA landscape to 1 group & Business systems in your dev landscape to another group. Also , hope you have created transport targets for all ur Business systems in dev environment.In ur QA SLD , you should have two entries for each business system , something like
    DEV-BS-1 -> transport target -> QA-BS-1
    QA-BS-1 -> transport source -> DEV-BS-1
    Thanks

  • Business Configuration Set

    Can anyone provide me details on Business Configuration Sets? What is its use in SAP FICO?  What is its significance? What points should be keep in mind while activating BCS

    Hi Divya,
    In SAP R/3,  a Business Configuration Set (BC Set) is a management tool that allows the user to record, save, and share customized settings. By creating a BC Set, the user is provided with a snapshot of the customized settings of a system that can be used later on as a template; SAP also provides pre-packaged BC sets designed for specific industries and applications.
    The importance of  BC Sets is that they are useful because they provide continuity and prevent project team members from overwriting each other's settings.
    Please refer to the link below for more info on BC sets

  • Business Configuration sets

    Hi,
      Could anyone please tell me what are the disadvantages of using BC sets?reply soon.
    Thanks,

    Hi
    The major disadvantage of BC sets is that you cannot configure the business process of the client rather the client ought to adapt the process that is set.
    As BC sets are pre configured they have particular process mapped and it is to be followed.
    Though this process can be changed this is normally not advisable.

  • Migrate E-Business configuration to Exadata

    My site is currently implementing E-Business 12.1.3 on Exalogic and Exadata. Due to Exa hardware availability, we have had to commence development on RHEL (app) / AIX (db).
    I have now installed E-Business on Exalogic / Exadata as per the MAA whitepaper and I am ready to migrate our database data from AIX to Exadata.
    I have looked at MOS 1133355.1 for options on doing this and have determined that datapump seems to be the way to go (MOS ID 741818.1).
    Not being very experienced with Exadata, I was looking for confirmation that this is the best approach and whether or not there was anything extra I need to consider.

  • New business configuration with DBM action control

    Hi,
    We want to update certain additional information for order and split after billing. DBM blocks data updation in DBM order after billing creation and order close.
    How we can achieve same?

    Hi,
    i think you have to ensure that the order does not get closed action/status ORD_CLOSE.

  • Business Configuration Set: Consistency Check

    Dear experts,
    I installed compliance calibrator successfully in our dev box.  I'm trying to instruct the BASIS guy to install it on the QA box, and he has received an error while installing the RTA.
    While activating the BC sets, he received the following errors:
    - /VIRSA/ZAUTHT - Checked activation of data for object /VIRSA/ZAUTHT not allowed for techn. resons
    - /VIRSA/ZAUTHT - Data records for object /VIRSA/ZAUTHT cannot be locked, for technical reasons
    - /VIRSA/ZAUTH - Checked activation of data for object /VIRSA/ZAUTH not allowed for techn. resons
    - /VIRSA/ZAUTH - Data records for object /VIRSA/ZAUTH cannot be locked, for technical reasons
    - /VIRSA/CCAUTH_52 - User Language D (German) is not in BC Set /VIRA/CCAUTH_52
    Do you know why we'd see this in our QA box, and not in our DEV box?
    Thanks,
    Santosh

    Have them check if the system is open (SCC4) and if the System Change Option (SE06) is set to "modifiable" for VIRSA or VIRSANH.

  • Controlling the default language for new business users

    Hi everyone,
    If this has been answered elsewhere, my apologies for asking again.
    My company is currently in the initial implementation of ByDesign (1405). I just migrated our employees into ByD using the migration tool. This went fine, and also created (inactive) Business Users for each employee.
    One small issue I have, is that for each Business User created, ByD picked a "Default Language" based on the country where the user's organization unit is based (so Dutch for users assigned to an entity in the Netherlands, Danish for users assigned to a unit in Denmark, etc...).
    This despite the fact that the only language we have configured in ByD during scoping is English. In fact, when you edit the default language on the business user record, the drop down only offers English as a choice.
    Since this is our test environment, this is not a big deal, but I would like to prevent this once I migrate user to our production environment.
    So: how do I make sure that the Default Language on each Business User created when creating an Employee is English? (I would rather not have to fix this manually for a large number of users).
    Thanks!
    Eelco

    It applies to selected text. It is part of the text's style.
    So if you want a document to be by default a particular language, make a template in which all the text and all the styles in the styles drawer are set to what you want.

  • Configurable Code-list not Extendable in Fine-Tuning.

    Hi
    I am facing some problems while changing the values in Code-list while using fine tuning process in Configuration. I have created three code-lists and then being added to configuration using BAC.
    In this BAC I have created one business Topic and three separate business options. Each business option is linked with each bcc (business Configuration Set).
    Now when I go to and “Edit project scope” I am able to get the code list on my UI using extension fields and values are there too. But the problem I am facing is that in “Open Activity list” when I open the Business Options NOT all the options are opening properly.
    Although I have got some of them opening fine and let me make changes while others are showing errors.
    Any Advice Please.
    Many thanks in Advance.
    Regards
    Asad

    Yes i have regenerated now and still the same problem is there.
    Yes the flag has been selected in the BC SET.
    in Fine tuning there is slight difference in BOTH BC views.
    One with normal behavior only shows the code in code list while the one with Issues/Problems is showing code & Description in same CODE column while some Times it does show only code though??
    Any guess here?

  • Access restriction for business objects in same solution

    Hi All,
    Requirement: I have one single solution with 4 modules. 1 module is common and other 3 are industry specific. When i roll it out to a customer, i what restrictions on Business Objects. So that i can roll out single or combination of modules as per requirement.
    Hence the configuration requirement would be  as follows:
       We need one core configuration for the entire solution which will have the Common Scope part included in it.
       We need industry wise configuration ( could be business configuration )
       Script level screen restriction.
    We tried creating a BAC element with Business Topic and Business Options and tried to link BO's to it.  But we are finding a problem with this solution, even a user will be able to change the configuration and get access to a module which he didn't pay for.
    Regards,
    Rudhra Udayakumar
    [email protected]

    Hello Rudhra,
    If the switches are in the BC every user with access to the BC can switch the modules on and off.
    As we do not support the interaction / referenceing between different solutions (at least not in the near future ) you need to put all you need in one solution.
    I understand that you want to make a reuse of the Common module somehow.
    My suggestion would be
    Develop the Common in a Solution Template
    Develop each industry specific in an own solution
    (Re-)Deploy the Common Solution Template to each of the industry specific solutions
    You can then sell the industry specific solution one by one and have only one development source for the Common module.

  • OSS note 1480794 for  the "Steps to Create endpoints using a "Business Conf

    Hi All,
    I am nearly complete with the Duet Setup Wizzard but I do still have a few red lights on my check tool.
    My main problem is:
    When I follow the instructions in OSS note 1480794 for  the "Steps to Create endpoints using a "Business Configuration Scenario" XML:"
    When I press activate I get the below errors:

    Hope you can advise.

    Hi Sameh,
    do you want to go live with the full scope of Starter Service , or do you just needs part of it?
    With the steps outlined in the blog everything is 100% supported (this is not a hack, but just another way to configure Starter Services).
    However, not all the functionality of the Starter Services will work (e.g. like the Updating / Creation of a new contact). But if you do not need that you are perfectly fine.
    I remember that with EhP4 you need to be on SP06 of ECC-SE. Maybe this is also the reason in your case why the service is not available.

    Holger.

  • XML Input - Business Config. Object

    Hello everyone,
    I'm having some problems using XML input files to create instances of my custom B.O.
    Here is the code for my B.O.:
    businessobject SkillBO {
            [Label ("Skill ID")][AlternativeKey]element ID:ID;
      [Label ("Contact ID")] element contactID:BusinessPartnerInternalID;
      [Label ("Primary Skill")]element mainSkill:MAINSKILLSBCOCode;
      [Label ("Secundary Skill")]element subSkill:SUBSKILLSBCOCode;
      [Label ("Skill Level")] element level:SkillLevelCode;
      element nextAvaibleID:IntegerValue;
      association ToBusinessPartner to BusinessPartner;
    As you can see the "mainSkill" and "subSkill" elements are of a codelist datatype. This codelist is generated by a Business Configuration Object.
    I also created Business Configuration Sets to provide values for these elements.
    I don't know what values to put in my Excel-file for these elements. I've tried the code, the actual value, etc. ...
    But every time I try to upload it (after converting the Excel to XML of course) nothing happens.
    For some reason I can't attach the XML, XLS or XSD...
    If you need more information, feel free to ask.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Glenn

    Here are some screenshot of my main -and sub skill BCC:
    What should I put in the "value"' field in my excel? The ID or the actual value? (1 or ERP)
