  • [Solved] Login freezing with busy mouse cursor and black screen.

After installing some recent updates I have suddenly found a problem when starting the login manager for Cinnamon.
After booting I am greeted with a black screen and a "busy" mouse cursor - like a stopwatch. I can't ctrl-alt-backspace to restart X.
What fixes it is - if I ctrl-alt-F2 to a new console and kill -9 the Xorg process. This causes X to restart normally. I have to do this every time now
I don't know if this is systemd related or what, but it only seemed to happen after the updates below.

    WOW! That did it
Could you explain what happened or why this fixed it please?
    Thanks for your help.
I don't know the details to be honest, but the title of your post basically describes my situation with GDM when I used accountsservice >0.6.25, so I figured it was worth a shot, since the symptoms were the same.
Also, Cinnamon depends on accountsservice if I'm not mistaken, so it didn't seem unreasonable that the update broke Cinnamon too.
I'm glad it works now. Let's hope a updated, working version of accountsservice is released soon.

  • Business Area display in Tcode FAGLB03

    Dear Friends,
We have ECC6 upgraded from April 2011. In FS10N we have business area tab appearing whereas when we use FAGLB03 the same is not appearing either as selection or when executing a G/L. Can this be resolved by applying the support package in Note 970096. By applying this support packs would result in some other adverse impact. The new G/L has been implemented.
    Regards,
    Ramkumar B

    Hi
FAGLB03 displays the balances for a GL and it add further characteristics, you can have Business Area displayed.
If however, your user needs to have the business area from the start, than the BADI specified in 1034354 can be used to display Business Area wise details from start

  • Regarding New Business Object display.

    Hi All,
I have defined a new Business Object for Account. BO is working fine.
I am sending a work item to approver for his approval, where i bind this BO to work item task, Now ideally he should see this as "Associated Business Object" in the work item on UI, but it is not coming over there. I checked in the work item log, BO contains values.
In other workflows like opportunity and all, where i delegated the standard BOs, same kind of binding is there and "Associated Business Object" is coming over there.
Now i wanna know that can we display user defined BO in the "Associated Business Object" or not ?
If yes, then where can be the issue with my workflow, is there any other procedure to be follow.
    Regards,
    Raman.

yes, we can display that. Some UI configuration needs to be changed for that.

  • Business Graphics : Display values for simple series ?

    Hi ,
I have a some 5 simple series per category.. I am using a column chart . I would like to display the numerical values on top of each of the columns, ? How can i do it ?
And is there any proper documentation on Business Graphics UI element other than the help.sap and weblogs on the sametopic ?
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi ,
Thanks for the answer.. By trial and error I had figured out the values.. but am stuck in another problem..
I have two points created in the chart designer.. each one has its own color.. Now am using this to change the color of a single series .. depending on some value.. point 1 or point 2 will be selected..
In this scenario ,my legend still shows me the old ones i.e just an yellow icon..
If i add more info and captions.. for points.. I get .. the proper legend.. But the default legend set also exists. Any ideas on how to remove this .. or
to display the proper legend in some other way..

  • Business Content Display Problem in SAP BW 3.5

    Hi BW Gurus,
We are facing some tricky problem in BW 3.5
    Details are below.
    PI_BASIS     2004_1_640     0006     SAPKIPYI66
    SAP_BW              350                     0009     SAPKW35009
    BI_CONT              353                     0005     SAPKIBIFP5
in RSA1 Trcode am not able to see Business Content tab at all,but when i click on Transport Connection tab then i could see Business Content tab but NO objects are displayed in left Frame like InfoProviders by InfoAreas ,InfoObjects by Applicaton Component ,and even when i use the RSORBCT Tcode also the same sort of display.
Has anyone faced this problem earlier and solved if YES pls help in this regard as it is very urgent for me.
    Regards,
    BRB

#1. Check your SAP GUI version.
#2. I recently had what MIGHT be a similar problem. In using BEx WAD, my screen did not correctly display some of the components. The cause was a file that held status information on my screen properties, a file that had become corrupted. To solve the problem, all I had to do was log off all SAP components, then delete all files in the directory c:\documents and settings\[userid]\Local Settings\Temp.
Worked for me. If it works for you, email me an ice-cream cone!
    Good Luck,
    Doug

  • How to use one keyboard, mouse and display for two PC's?

hey guys, right now i'm using a mac mini and also another Windows PC tower. whenever i want to switch between them i need to re-plug in my headphones/keyboard/mouse/display and this is getting annoying. i've been using a usb hub for the mouse and keyboard so it's not as difficult to setup. is there anything out there that'll allow me to switch between them more easily?
    what are my options?
    thank you

If both are on your intranet, try Synergy.
I personally use the Wormhole.  You can drag between desktops.

  • Click to run causes mouse to be busy all of the time

My mouse icon is always busy and the reason is the click 2 run service. Click 2 run has the highest CPU use according to the task manager.
When I disable the click to run service using msconfig, I no longer get the spinning mouse and high CPU use and no Office programs will open as a result. Re-enabling the service returns to the state of high CPU use, busy mouse and working Office programs.
I can live with the high CPU but how do I stop the mouse from being busy. It is really annoying.
I am using Office 2013 on Win 8.1.

It happened from the moment I installed Office. I do not use OneDrive and syncing is paused. There are no pending uploads.
I do not have a fix but I do have a workaround. I followed the steps given in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2813190 and that does stop the spinning wheel and the lowers the CPU. Unfortunately, the install never really gets past 79% complete (although
the installer says it is done) and so the workaround has to be applied after every reboot and stays stuck at 79%.

  • Mouse pointer display

I'm recording an application demo, and having trouble getting
the mouse movements to appear "natural." For example, say that my
project contains 4 slides, each 10 seconds long:
    * On Slide 1 (Window #1), the mouse moves to point A and
clicks to select the item at that location
    * On Slide 2 (Window #1), the selected item is highlighted
and the mouse remains at point A ("Align to Previous")
    * On Slide 3 (Window #1), the mouse moves to point B; mouse
motion begins at 9.0 seconds and lasts 1.0 seconds, so the mouse
movement is at the end of this slide; the mouse clicks to select an
item that will appear on Slide 4
    * On Slide 4 (Window #2), the selected item is highlighted
and the mouse remains at point B
During movie preview, when Slide 3 appears the mouse displays
immediately at point B. This doesn't seem right to me--it's way too
soon. Shouldn't the mouse remain at point A when Slide 3 appears,
and 9 seconds later begin its 1-second travel to point B?
    Thanks,
    Bill

I've seen comments on this forum about the recommended number
of slides, but so far <fingers crossed> I haven't encountered
problems. When it takes 4 to 8 slides just to get the logon
sequence (User Name, Password, click "Login" button) to look
natural, keeping the demo project to less than 65 slides is not
    practical. My current project is the second demo in this series;
the first project has 147 slides, most with audio and cursor, some
with highlight boxes. I even recorded at a larger image size than I
needed, and after final editing I reduced the project size to
800x600, and thankfully it seems to be fine.
    = = = = =
Now to this "misplaced cursor" issue: I have created a
6-slide project that demonstrates the problem. I did this by
deleting slides 1-19 and 26-203 of my project, then saving the test
project with a new name (A_Test.cp). I added a few text captions
and replaced the audio on each slide. On Slide 4, which is 20
seconds long, you can clearly see that the cursor jumps immediately
to its final location, though the mouse is set to "Display for 0.5
seconds" and "Appear after 19.5 seconds."
Unfortunately, the .cp file for this project is about 92 MB
in size! I discovered that the library for this A_Test project
contains all the audio and background images from the original
203-slide project. How can I remove everything except the items
that "belong" to the remaining 6 slides, so that A_Test.cp will be
only as big as necessary for this 6-slide project?
    Thanks again,
    Bill

  • Useful Code of the Day:  Splash Screen & Busy Application

So you are making an Swing application. So what are two common things to do in it?
    1) Display a splash screen.
    2) Block user input when busy.
Enter AppFrame! It's a JFrame subclass which has a glass pane overlay option to block input (setBusy()). While "busy", it displays the system wait cursor.
It also supports display of a splash screen. There's a default splash screen if you don't provide a component to be the splash screen, and an initializer runner which takes a Runnable object. The Runnable object can then modify the splash screen component, for example to update a progress bar or text. See the main method for example usage.
It also has a method to center a component on another component (useful for dialogs) or center the component on the screen.
NOTE on setBusy: I do recall issues with the setBusy option to block input. I recall it having a problem on some Unix systems, but I can't remember the details offhand (sorry).

  • ITunes stays busy for up to five minutes after starting

Okay, Windows 7 Pro, iTunes 10.3.1.55.  iPod Touch available via wireless.  Nothing from Apple is in my startup list.
When I start my computer, iTunes may or may not start up automatically.  When it does start up, most of the time it displays a busy mouse arrow for up to five minutes.  I can do nothing with iTunes until it finishes its "routine".  I can't even terminate it except with Task Manager.
I've gone through the options and tried to turn off anything that would cause this, such as synching with the iPod.  I keep hoping with each new release that Apple will solve my problem so I can use iTunes when it starts up.
    Help!  This is really annoying!

  • Business Graphics and Adobe Interactive Form

    Hi Friends,
I generated charts in webdynpro using business graphics.
Now, I need put this charts into a Adobe Form using Interactive Form Component. Is that possible? How can I do this?
    Thanks,
    Cristian

    Hi Cristian Teles,
YOu can use the Business graphics even in Adobe forms. In the Adobe Designer you can find the various graphical UI elements. Please go through them.
    Structure of the Chart Designer
The Chart Designer is divided into three areas:
    ·        The graphics preview
The area on the left-hand side in which the business graphic is displayed. This area is used to display a preview of the Customizing settings. Changes to these settings are displayed immediately in the graphics preview, which lets you implement necessary changes in the business graphic display instantly.
    ·        Overview of graphical elements
The area in the upper-right side that contains the list of graphical elements. For a detailed description and list of all graphical elements, see SAP NetWeaver ® Application Platform (SAP Web Application Server) ® ABAP Technology ® UI Technology ® Frontend Services.
Each graphical element, in turn, has one or more properties. To change a property, select a chart element either from the chart window or by name in the chart element window. The properties of the chart element are then displayed, and you can edit and change the values of the properties.
    ·        The property list
The properties are listed in the area below the graphical elements. To change a property, select a graphical element either with the mouse in the graphics preview or from the overview of graphical elements. The properties of the graphical element are then displayed. You can change the values of these properties.

  • How do I display search results in a new window?

Our current search feature (http://mainedreamvacation.businesscatalyst.com/business-search) displays the search results in the same page. When someone clicks to see the details page, the goes "back" the browser displays an alert asking the user if they want to re-submit the form.
Is there a way for the search results to display in a new window? My hope is that by loading results into a new window, a user could click to see the detail, then return without the alert message.
I'm open to simply suppressing the alert message, but I don't think that's possible.
I should point out that this is NOT a site search. Also, I have tried  {module_webappsresults,,_blank} without success.
    Thanks!

    Hi Tim,
The approach would be similar to customizing this for normal site search.
You'll need to locate the page where you inserted the web app search access the html and locate the pageID in the form action.  Use the same method found in the site search to apply the specific page.
    - http://helpx.adobe.com/business-catalyst/partner/add-search-form.html> Point to the results page
**Ensure you please the {module_webappsresults} on the custom page to have the content display as well.
    Kind regards,
    -Sidney
