Calculating annualized results

Hi,
I would like to know the best way to calculate annualized results for accounts in a financial statement cube(both P&L and Balance Sheet). The time dimension includes quarter to date and year to date members.
Any pointers towards the best possible approach will be helpful.
Thanks in advance!

Hello 991530,
I am not sure we understand each other, but when you select a year to date member from your time dimension you should see the P&L and BS annualized.
If not, you should aggregate the time dimension.

Philip

  • Percentage Calculation for result rows

    Hi
I have problem with percentage calculation on result rows. I have 2 KFs A and B, the result is calulated by setting 'calculate result rows as' to 'summation'.
But in KF 'C' (which is calculated as A/B*100 ),
Now the probles is the systen picks up original values of A and B for calculation of C in result rows.
i.e. system picks up values of result rows for A and B for
setting 'calculate result rows as' to 'nothing defined'.
Any ideas on how to fix this.
    Thanks

  • Plan costs calculation during results analysis of sales order

    Hi Experts,
I am in process of implementing sales order costing. I am facing a problem during result analysis with plan costs data.
We have a sales order for which production order is generated. Cost object is sales order.
Say, sales order cost estimate which is the plan costs --> is $ 1000 (which includes prod order COGM of $ 600) (So remaining sales and admin costs are $ 400)
Plan cost of production order is $ 550 (as per production order cost analysis report)
While calculating the result analysis for sales order, system is calculating the plan costs data as $ 1000 + $ 550 = $ 1550
As a result, I feel plan costs data during result analysis is over calculated.
I feel either plan costs should be $ 1000 (as it already includes COGM part)
    or
$ 950 which is (plan cost of production order $ 550 + sales and admin costs of $ 400)
Could some one explain me why result analysis shows plan costs data as $ 1500 and if I need to rectify how can I do so.
    Thanks,
    GAN

    Any suggestions please.

  • Two separate calculated columns - results show up only in one of them

    Hey,
I've recently run into some peculiar behaviour in OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence 11.1.1.7.0). I'm using three attribute colums (deliv. on time, ordered, backlog) to calculate a monthly service level. In addition I'm using a customer ID number to separate our customers into export and national customers. I've three calculated columns - Service Level Export, Service Level Total and Service Level National. I'm using a simple case-statement to distinguish between international and national customers (When custID between xxx and yyy then...). The total service level column doesn't have a case-if calculation, only a couple of simple mathematical operations and it works fine.
Now the problem is that the results show up only in one of those calculated columns containing case-if calculations - not both at the same time. Using a prompt in a pivot table I can verify that both columns get proper values but when I remove the prompt half of the values randomly disappear from these columns so that only one of the columns has a value for a specific month. The calculations in all three columns are identical - the only difference is that Serv. L. Exp. exludes a spesific CustID whereas the Serv. L. Nat. only includes that one CustID.
Example - both Serv. L. Exp and Serv. L. Nat should have values for every month, now only one of them gets values
Month          Serv. L. Exp.               Serv. L. Nat.               Total Serv. L.
    01                         15 %                                                       15 %
    02                         17 %                                                       17 %
    03                         13 %                                                       13 %
    04                                                          20 %                      20 %
    05                                                          22 %                      22 %
I've a few months of OBIEE experience under my belt so I'm not that experienced but usually I've been able to figure out what's wrong on my own. This time, however, this leaves me dumbfounded. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Silver

    Hi,
Serv.L.Nat is calculated 100 * INVOICED / (ORDERED + DELAYED). For National Service Level the case statement (including the calculations) is as follows (the inner CASE limits the Serv.L.Nat per cust to a range of 0 - 100 %):
    CASE WHEN "fact"."CustID" = 100001 THEN (
         CASE WHEN Serv.L.Nat > 100 THEN 100
         WHEN Serv.L.Nat < 0 THEN 0
WHEN Serv.L.Nat IS NULL THEN 0
         ELSE Serv.L.Nat
         END)
    END
For Export the sql is exactly like the one above, barring the reversed condition.
    Regards,
    Silver
PS. The above is a burst of pseudoSQL so don't mind the typos, the actual code is tested to work as intended... barring the fact that something's wrong with getting the values to appear.

  • Calculation of Results in BEx Report.

I want to use weighted average method between two keyfigure.
for example consider the following secnario.
            CH Kf1 Kf2
            A  10   5
            B   6   4
            C   3   2
    <b>Result     19   4.21</b>
    how 4.21 is ((105)+(64)+(3*2))/total of Kf1(ie 19)
                ( A value(Kf1Kf2)+ B value (Kf1Kf2) + C              Value (Kf1*Kf2))/total value (Kf1) = 4.21
is it possible to achieve the above result for Kf2.
    With regards,
    Hari

    Hi Dinesh & Kumar,
    Thanks for our immediate response..
I tried with Calculated key figure it is not working and also   macros does not work, because it is a drilldown report , the result cells in report is not fixed, it will vary depending upon the selection parameter.
Is there is any other solution in query designer to achieve the above result..
    With regards,
    Hari

  • Calculations - weird results with add blend

When using the calculations command to blend two channels with the ADD blend mode I am getting strange results when using a negative offset with a 16 bit image. The preview behaves as expected with the image darkening but when I press OK the light areas become dark and vice versa. Looking at Levels all pixels are either sent to 0 or 255.
8 bit images perform as I would expected.
Has anyone else noticed this behaviour ?

I am not sure why you have used addNode method on same parentNode two times (line by line) because you already have added node in first line and now you have to save it. May be this is causing issue.
    parentNode = parentNode.addNode("orignal", "nt:file");
    parentNode.addNode("orignal", "nt:file");
let me know if it does not help you.

  • Sum calculated data results from three queries in another query

    Hello,
I would like to read calculated data from three different queries and sum them in another query.  Is it possible to do it, please?

    Hi there,
We have done this in Excel with a debtors report. I have five queries, each on a different sheet in a workbook. I have their total line appearing at the top of the results area.
Then I have an Excel worksheet with Excel formulas to bring through the totals on the other reports.
    i.e.   +Sheet1!C30      + Sheet2!C35     + Sheet3!D40    = Result
    Hope this helps,
    Regards

  • Bex Analyzer Calculation of Results

    Hello,
I have created a query using Bex Analyzer. In the query I am also <b>using a formula to calculate forecast accuracy.</b> When I execute the query the <b>formula works fine in the rows.</b>
The <b>problem is the (yellow) overall result row</b>. Here the result is not correct because it is supposed to be calculated differently. In the query properties the settings for "Calculate result as.." are limited and do not serve my purpose.
<b>Is there a way (workaround) to calculate the result in the overall result row differently, maybe using VBA (does anyone have sample code in this case) or is there any other option?</b>
Thank you very much for your help.
    Christian

    Hi Heike,
First of all thank you very much.
When I use "leaf(xyz)yourformulaforsinglevalues + not leaf(xyz) yourforumulaforresultrows" what should I include in the brackets where you mention (xyz)?
Does this "leaf-function" work for all drilldown levels, meaning I define the formula using the formula editor, execute the query and make a drilldown according to another characteristic and have the correct result for the single values and the result rows at that level of detail too.
Thank you very much for your help again. I really appreciate that.

  • Resultant calculation but result not same

I found one issue when I calculate the Resulatnt from head x, y, z acceleration data when I process the crash test data.
one computer XP system the result channel name  is : ResultantXYZ,
one conputer Win7 system the result channel name is : Res_from_XYZ
Who know why I have the different result channel name?

    Hi woshiyun,
That looks like a difference based on the DIAdem version.  We harmonized the standard resultant channel names many years back so that they would be the same regardless of whether they were created with an English operating system or a German operating system.  You can branch your code based on the ProgramRevision variable.

    Hello Experts,
The  payroll results for the month of April are getting displayed under the column of month May  and  payroll results for the month of May are getting displayed under the column of Month June.

  • Formula Calculation while  result recording

While result recording for any Characteristic, the system should calculate some formula to accept or Reject the characteristic.
Eg. Let me take the characteristic as Carbon.
    Upper limit     0.100
    Lower limit     0.000
    My sample size is 3
While result recording I entered the value as
    1  0.055
    2  0.059
    3  0.062
System should calculate the below formulas & the values are in between the tolerance then that should accept or reject the characteristic
    X+ H*R
    X-H*R
    Where
X  - Mean value of the Sample
    R – Range (Minimum – Maximum)
H- this is the Standard value given by the customer and it should calculate according to following sample size n
Here Same please size is 3 So the value of H is 1.300
    Samle(n)     (h)
    2     6.360
    3     1.300
    4     0.720
    5     0.510
    6     0.400
    7     0.330
    Now the X+ H*R = 0.068
    & X-H*R  = 0.050
So the values are between the tolerance limits. So the system should propose to accept the characteristic Carbon

  • Calculation of result

    Hi expert's.
In Bex analyzer after executing the query (in excel sheet)
in the context menu we will get All characteristic---->
    Normalize.
what is the purpose of it.

    Hi,
To add to Ravi's explanation of the computation.
In the current normalisation the result what we are seeing is based on data what is actually on the screen when you execute the normalisation function.
But assume that there was one more record which had been filtered out as below
    cost Center Amount
    4            500
and if you normalize on the overall result instead of the result then the results would be
    cost Center Amount
    1            16 %  (that is (400/2500)*100)
    2            40 %
    3            24 %
which would not total to 100 % as in the earlier post.
That would be the difference between Normalise on result and normalise on overall result.
    hope it helps
    Cheers
    Anurag

  • Powerpivot calculation consistently results in #ERROR when using the following syntax =RELATED(Supertab[Profit loss])

Problem has arisen in Powerpivot and I have been religiously following the processes shown on numerous excel forum videos
I cannot see any difference between the syntax I submit and that submitted in the examples, yet I get errors all the time. Have I missed a step somewhere in the set up of PowerPivot. Give me a hint as I am going quietly bananas here.

    Hi dfothers,
Assuming that you've correctly defined a relationship between the two tables and that Supertab[Profit loss] is on the 'many' side of the one-to-many relationship (this is the most likely scenario that you'd get an error with the formula you provided) you'll
need to apply an aggregation function to successfully pull the column into the table on the 'one' side of the relationship.
You could do this with the RELATEDTABLE function...
    =SUMX(RELATEDTABLE(Supertab), Supertab[Profit loss])
    ...or with the CALCULATE function...
    =CALCULATE(SUM(Supertab[Profit loss]))
If the relationship is in fact a one-to-one then one of the tables will still be on the 'many' side but you could use something similar to the following to return a non-aggregated value:
    =CALCULATE(FIRSTNONBLANK(Supertab[Profit loss],1 ))

    Michael

  • BEx report -two different calculations for a result for one key figure how?

    All,
Maybe someone could help me with the following, we have a requirement to setup for one key figure two calculations for result rows. One result (average) for one level, and on a higher level -grand total have a (sum), as for our business it makes sense to do it this way. We have setup average for this KF, we get correct results (see below values 7,5 & 6,5) however for the grand total (across multiple products) so for one level up we need to have a different calculation. How could we achieve this?
    Here is an example:
    location     product          inventory
    AAAA     11111          5
    AAAA     11111          5
    AAAA     11111          10
    AAAA     11111          10
    AAAA     Result          7,5      ---> average
    AAAA     22222          5
    AAAA     22222          6
    AAAA     22222          7
    AAAA     22222          8
    AAAA     Result          6,5       -
    > average
AAAA     Result (across products)          14      ---> here I want to have a sum of averages

This could be achieve only IF you upload a hierarchy for product inventory with different levels, wherein each level show subtotals and finally grand total will be shown at the end of the results.
