Hi, I am a newbie to Flash, i want to call ASP page (.aspx) on Flash button click Event.

I am surprised by the degree of no replies. I have solved this by using asp redirects such as:
Response.Redirect("test.aspx?UserName="&user)
My formulated solution contains a page with a manually built interactive report. I have a number of bind variables at the top of the reoprt where users can query the information they want based on desginated database columns for this particular report. Once they have the "manual" interactive report displaying what they want, they click a button where a asp script is called with parameters passed that calls a Java based Crystal Reports plugin with the called correspnding report displayed with passed parameters.
Works like a charm!
This solves our reporting needs without having to resort to Bi Publisher (much too expensive) and other third party applications that kinda indicate it can work with apex but provide limited help or best form for doing so.

To turn off authentication you must create and make current a No Login Authentication authentication scheme.
or change Page / Security / Authentication as "Page is Public"

Calling a page from a button url

Can you give me a hint how to call (branch to) a page from a button which is placed behind an item in a region. If I choose button to be a HTML button this should be possible. I think it's documented in User Guide Page 6-22. But description is not very informative. It's easy to do if the button is in a region position.

For buttons in region positions the branches can be associated with the button by picking the button from the "When Button Pressed" select list. For buttons displayed among the region items, you need to conditionally branch based on the request send by the button. Assuming you already created the button and a branch that takes you to the target page, edit the button, scroll down to "Button Request Value" and type in your request string, e.g. BUTTON_PRESSED. Then edit your branch, and make it conditionally based on a request "Request = Expression 1" and type in your request string BUTTON_PRESSED into the Expression 1 field.

Flash button in html page

Hello,
I have created button in flash and I want that each time I
press on the button, html page will open in frame name mainFrame in
my site the problem is the html page always open in new window.
As you can see in the code attach, I have two frames in my
page one called leftFrame and the flash button is in there, and the

Problem layering FLASH buttons over embedded VIMEO video

Hi all,
I am trying to layer my flash buttons over an embedded vimeo video, see the problem, rollover "The Boys" button: http://thehallbrothers.com/index3.html
I have set the vimeo video in a DIV called "stagereel" and the flash buttons in a DIV called "buttons1."
The z-index of "stagereel" is set to 0 and "buttons1" is set to 3, but nonetheless "buttons1" shows behind "stagereel."
Can anyone help?

Thanks for all your help Ned, but I found out the problem. When layering multiple FLASH files within the same HTML document the layer position of the FLASH elements is determined by the order of the HTML code – meaning, whatever FLASH file is last in the code will display in the topmost layer. So for my problem I just swapped the position of the Vimeo video with my flash buttons and bam the buttons play on top of the video. Hope this maybe helps others.

Flash calling asp problem

hi, I have got to send sth by ASP in Flash. I wrote some code

If you want to call the asp file from flash you should do it
like this

The code above is for calling email.asp, pass a variable
called emailAddress via POST and handling a response from the asp,
if you do not wish to receive a response from the asp just use
send() instead of sendAndLoad();

My page has a button that, when clicked, calls a Java function that sets a PageLegend and changes an image but then FireFox reloads the page switching everything back to original values. What's up?

This is happening with an ASP page. Not sure when it started, but the page used to work fine. The Java script is listed in the troubleshooting section. The button calls nextPic() which calls showPic(). After nextPic processes the page is reloaded.

Trying to call MM_showHideLayers on container HTML page from Flash

I'm designing a site that is mostly in Flash, but I would
like to show some content by changing the visibility of a layer on
the HTML page that contains the swf file. I have tried

Is there a better way to display large amounts of highly formatted,

resorting to a pop-up window? I really want it to look and feel
like it is all part of the same page, and I need more tags than I

Javascript call from a Flash button

I have 2 Panel Groups of 5 panels each and I made a Flash
button to controll them.
The following code works if the panels are both open but it
only works the first time.
Then the second time I get an error;
cpg is undefined
CODE:

This would need to work for both panelgroups even if only one
is open.
I tried using fscommand but not sure how to write it.

There are definitely ways of submitting the page and triggering a page process to run via JavaScript, but it would be good to better understand your requirements first before proposing a certain solution.

Calling the ASP page through a BSP application

We are in the process of implementing Digital signature for SRM cFolders.
BSP application : CFX_RFC_UI
Pages with flow logic : doc_de_download
The digitally signed files are uploaded to the cFolders.On click of a
particular file in cFolders, the 'ASP' page residing on the server in IIS
vertual directory i.e. 'verifyfile.asp' should get called.This ASP page has
the logic to verify the signed file.
The signed file resides on the file system in the same vertual directory.
As a result we want to post a message on the screen which
will be the output of the ASP page logic.
Please suggest the way to achieve this.
