Caller ID over DSL

Does anyone know of a program that will display caller id on my imac

DSL does not carry the analog caller ID information. Your filters remove it. It's in the bottom 3 or 4 KHz of the band, between the first and second rings. Your DSL modem does not recognize it.
You need a separate device on the unfiltered side of the phone/DSL network, and some special software usually supplied with the hardware.
Some phone modems have caller ID options.

  • WYSE terminal over DSL IPSEC IOS VPN

    I am having a problem establishing a connection over my WAN via a WYSE terminal to a Citrix server. We have PC's that can connect using the ICA client without any problems but the Wyse terminals fail and don't even display an image on the screen.
    I have experienced problems with the 877 IPSEC VPN's over DSL before and had issues relating to MTU from PC's but this is the first occurance where the PC's are working but the Wyse terminals fail.
    Has anyone experienced this before?
    Thank you!

    This setup applies to a specific case where the router, without enabling split tunneling, and Mobile users (Cisco VPN Client) can access the Internet via the central site router. In order to achieve this, configure the policy map in the router to point all the VPN traffic (Cisco VPN Client) to a loopback interface. This allows the Internet traffic to be port address translated (PATed) to the outside world.

  • Call XI over plain-http without calling a receirver system

    Hi,
    I´m trying to call XI over http only to cheque whether xi is still alive. So I dont need a system to call. Anybody knows how?
    Thanks in advance,
    Frank

    Hi Frank,
    Create a scenario in XI, for an HTTP sender (that means no Sender Agreement).
    Create a HTTP client, which uses a xmlhttp object from msxml2 API. Use the .send() method to send a payload.
    You can see the response in your front-end itself.
    You can use other APIs also for this.
    A SOAP client is also available in sdn, so that you can create a SOAP scenario, and test connectivity through that.

  • Tcp mss adjust calculation for GRE tunnel over DSL line

    hi guys,
    need your advice on this one, as i search on cisco.com and netpro but unable to find the exact info that i required.
    First, can anyone confirm the following calculation to find out MSS size.
    Mss size = MTU size - encapsulation size - tcp header size
    So for normal case;
    MSS = 1500 - 48 (48 is the tcp/ip header)
    so MSS = 1452
    Thus in my case GRE tunnel over DSL connection;
    MSS = 1492 - 24 - 48 (24 is the GRE encap; 48 is the tcp/ip header)
    MSS = 1420
    is this correct?
    Secondly, where should the ip tcp mss-adjust to be implemented. Is it at the Dialer(DSL) interface or at Tunnel interface?

    I don't use the math (it doesn't work for me probably b/c I miss something). Here's how I do it-

    1470 works and has a little bit of extra room. The tcp mss-adjust should be done on the LAN interface.

  • Performance Issue with calling setTextFormat() over and over... Need to temporarilly disable redraws?

    Hello all,
    I am running some code which lets me highlight text bits of text found with regular expression.
    The code I have works fine
    the problem that I am having is that I need to call setTextFormat() over and over again (possibly > 1000 times), and it becomes very slow (possibly because its redrawing over and over).
    When commenting out the line with setTextFormat(), it runs brilliantly fast.
    Is there a way to disable redraws of the textField while I make the changes to the text format, then redraw it manually?
    Any help appreciated!
    The code is:
    // Find the first result
    var pResult:Object = pRegexHighlight.regexp.exec(str);
    while(pResult != null)
        // Highlight the match
        var pTextFormat:TextFormat = new TextFormat();    pTextFormat.color = 0xff0000;
        textField.setTextFormat(pTextFormat, pResult.index, pResult.index + pResult[0].length);
        // Get the next match
        pResult = pRegexHighlight.regexp.exec(str);

    I think you should use a TextArea, and parse the text property. After parsing and adding <font color="#0000FF"></font>, set the result in the htmlText property (but retain the original text in the text property). That way you render once.
    If you don't lie the TextArea border and focus outline set thickness of them to 0.

    Don't know. Ask Plantronics. If they did it right, it should work. If it works on the low end stock stereo in my Kia, I'd think Plantronics would be able to figure it out.

    Wow. I have not seen that question nor a discussion. I agree with James. I don't think it will, and if the power drain is different, maybe it'll be less and not more.
    With a 10 hour battery, you have plenty of time to test it and see. If the battery depletes fast, just go back to the other way.
    If you do try it, let us know what you discover.
    Thanks ! !

  • Is it possible that Exchange UM could be configure with two call managers over the same sip?

    Hi,
    I have Cisco call manager 8.2 integrated with Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Unified Messaging.
    Call manager has primary and secondary server. I created a sip trunk and linked primary CUCM with Exchange. Users can leave and get voice mails.
    Problem: In case that primary server is down (WAN is down) the users registered on secondary server but they cannot contact to Exchange Unified Messaging.
    I added  new UM Dial Plan with the same pilot and associated it to the secondary CUCM server. UM answered but do not recognize the extension number "is not a valid mailbox extension".
    Is it possible that Exchange UM could be configure with two call managers over the same sip, the same pilot number, different associated UM servers and get access to the same voice mail boxes?
    If not:
    Does exist a way to configure Exchange UM that will work if one CUCM server is down?
    Thank you,
    Peter

  • HT201274 My new iPad (2) had a message that the iOS called Voice Over was running, everything locked up then went black and now it will not power up. I have plugged it into a power supply & still won't work. Any ideas?

    My iPad2 has a message that iOS called Voice Over was running, tap three times to turn off. Nothing will respond, it finally turned black and now iPad won't turn on at all. Any ideas?

    Thanks so much but none of that helped.  It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive.  I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!
    Thank you for your help and replying to this.  Guess I made my own issue!

  • DMM - DMP connectivity over DSL network

    Dear All,
    I would like to know whether it is possible to connect DMM - DMP over DSL Network.
    -     I have DMM with private IP 192.168.1.100 have static net public IP 58.177.200.xx
    -     I have DMP with private IP 192.168.xx.xx connect under ADSL network with Dynamic IP address.
    I check NAT enable on DMPDM but It ask me to enter ADSL public IP. When DSL line down and reconnect IP is change.
    What Should I do?
    Thank you very much
    Sukitti

    Hi Sukitti,
    I'm afraid this will never work. As you already saw, you can use the DMP with NAT, but the public IP needs to be fixed.
    Your best approach would be to contact your ADSL service provider and request a fixed IP for that connection. Most of providers give this option for a small extra amount

    My question was if there is a solution -or not- that faces this kind of issues.It is not clear if you are talking about Sun Solaris or x86 Solaris.
    I don't know if it makes any difference, but it might.
    Maybe your question is: why this guy wants to do something like this?No. I am not concerned with that.
    Just trying to help you ask the right questions.
    And maybe you will find the answers yourself once you have the right questions.
    I'm integrating some biometric solutions on Sun Access Manager. But the biometrics vendor only provides windows ocx's and DLL's. And Access Manager is running in a Solaris box.
    I want to know if I can do something by myself or just tell the biometrics vendor that they must provide a Java solution.
    I have been trying to find something on the web, but I asked this forum because maybe someone has tried to do something similar.The suggestion by jschell is probably your most promising option.
    Integrating the .dll files with Java on a Windows box
    and communicating between Access Manager / Java on the Solaris box and your Java code on the Windows box
    (possibly using RMI).

  • How much data does a call use over 3G?

    Does anyone know how much data a call uses when using 3G?
    For example if I made a 10min call over 3G is there an easy way to estimate how much data it would use?

    I'd check my balance, make a call, then check the balance again. That should give a fair indication.
    I'm a light user and find Tesco's SIM-only deal (500mins, 500MB, 500texts) is way more than adequate for my basic mobile needs for a tenner a month. Worth considering.
