Calling SAPSCRIPT from CLASS-METHOD?

Is it possible to call SAPSCRIPT from a class-method?
I have no idea how to use variables - there are no global variables in classes.
thx

Hi,
The super reference can only be used in redefined methods to call superclass implementation . So probably what you can do is use upcasting and access the required superclass implementation. I can think of only this way...;-)
Ex data lr_super type ref to cl_superclass
lr_super = lr_subclass.
lr_super->method().

  • Calling the super class method from the subclass

    Hi all,
    I have a question about inheritence and redefinition of methods. Is it possible to call the superclass implementation of a method which is redefined in the subclass in another method of the subclass?There are possbilities like creation of an explicit super class instance or delegating the super class method implementation to another method which is also protected etc. What i mean is, is there a direct way of calling it?We have ,me,   as the reference for the instance we have(which is the subclass instance in this case), is there also a way of pointing the superclass implementation(with super we can reference in the subclass redefinition, my question is if we have such a parameter in other methods of the subclass too)
    Thanks in advance

  • Call variable from outside method

    I have a method for a listSelectionListener with a variable in it called "results", I want to be able to get the information from this variable outside of this method. In my main class alled "gifts" I have a TextArea and I want "results" to be displayed in it but I can't get results into it because it's in a seperate method. Anyone know how I can do this?
    Heres some relevant code:
    public Gifts()
              super( "Spiritual Gift Database" );
              try
                   Class.forName(JDBC_DRIVER);
                   conn = DriverManager.getConnection(DATABASE_URL);
                   stat = conn.createStatement();
                   ResultSet rs = stat.executeQuery("SELECT heading1 FROM demo");
                   Vector vector1 = new Vector();
                   while(rs.next()) vector1.add(rs.getObject(1));
                   container = getContentPane();
               container.setLayout( new FlowLayout() );
                   nameListPanel = new JPanel();
                   statListPanel = new JPanel();
                   buttonPanel = new JPanel();
               nameList = new JList(vector1);
               nameList.setVisibleRowCount( 9 );
                   nameList.setPrototypeCellValue("XXXXXXXXXXXX");
                   nameList.addListSelectionListener(
                        new ListSelectionListener()
                             public void valueChanged(ListSelectionEvent event)
                                  try
                                       ResultSet resultSet = stat.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM demo");
                                       StringBuffer results = new StringBuffer();
                                       ResultSetMetaData metaData = resultSet.getMetaData();
                                       int numberOfColumns = metaData.getColumnCount();
                                       for(int i = 1; i<=numberOfColumns; i++)
                                       results.append(metaData.getColumnName(i) + "\t");
                                       results.append("\n");
                                       while (resultSet.next())
                                            for(int i = 1; i<= numberOfColumns; i++)
                                            results.append(resultSet.getObject(i) + "\t");
                                            results.append("\n");
                                  catch(SQLException sqlException)
                                       JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,sqlException.getMessage(),
                                       "Database Error", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
                                       System.exit(1);
                   statList = new JTextArea(results.toString());
                   add = new JButton("Add Entry");

    Declare you variable at the class level instead of the function level, then you can see if from any method in the class.

  • Problem with calling dispose() from static method

    I have one class, where I have this:
    EditorWindow.disposeWindow();and class EditorWindow, where I have static method
    protected static void disposeWindow() {
        dispose();
    }But, dispose() cant be called from static method. Is there any way to hide or close the EditorWindow window?

    kaneeec wrote:
    I dont have references of these windows, because it would be too difficult. They are created just by new Window().setVisible(true);It's not difficult:
    Window w = new Window();
    w.setVisible(true);Now you have a reference (w) to your window that you can later call dispose() on.
    w.dispose();dispose() isn't a static method, so you have no choice but to call it on a specific instance.

  • Access arrayobject from class method

    Hi,
    Can anyone tell me how to access the variables in an object array from a static method of the same class?
    In another class i create a object array
    MyClass[][] myObjectArray = new MyClass[3][3]
    In MyClass there is a declaration:
    public int myInt = 1
    and a class method:
    public static myMethod(){
    int intVar = "this is where i would like to read the value of myInt for each object, something like myObjectArray[0][0].myInt + myObjectArray[1][2].myInt, but it does not work"
    I guess something with "this" or "super", but dont know how.
    Thanks,
    /Thomas

    It should obviously be impossible to access any Instance
    in a class-method.
    You could pass it as an parameter though:
    public static void myMethod(MyClass[][] myCl)

  • What is the syntax for calling function from class file by jsp

    does anyone here knows what is the syntax of how to call a function from java class file by javascript code or any way to call it?
    and where should i put the calling function code? because the function is called depend on the user click.
    for example
    <%=pc.functionName(a,b)%>
    for the variable a and b, how can i get the value from html textbox and put it in a and b...
    urgent needed...
    thx

    Jsp's are executed before the Html forms are created and loaded. Dont try to use a java code function calling on a javascript click. You'll have to explicitly redirect it into a servlet where in you can call the function you want.
    Well! another way could be using AJAX. That seems to be powerfull enough and it might also serve your purpose.
    Hope this helps

  • Need to Call the Parent Class Method

    Hi..
    Please go thru the following code.
    class Parent {
         Parent() {
              System.out.println("In Parent Constructor");
         void set() {
              System.out.println("In Parent set method");
    class Child extends Parent {
         Child() {
              System.out.println("In Child Constructor");
         void set() {
              super.set();
              System.out.println("In Child set method");
    class SetTrial {
         public static void main(String args[])
              Child aChild = new Child();
              Parent theImpl = (Parent)aChild;
              theImpl.set();
    I want to know, is there any way by which we can get the Parent Set method to be executed, when we invoke it in main.
    In the main, I should be able to decide which Set to invoke based on certain conditions.
    TIA..
    Basu.

    Since you seem to have an aversion to using the child class decide whether to call just the parent's set function, I think I would do it like this:
    class Parent{
      Parent() {
         System.out.println("In Parent Constructor\n");
      void set(ConditionClass C) {
        System.out.println ("In Parent set method\n");
    class Child extends Parent {
      Child() {
        System.out.println("In Child Constructor");
      void set(ConditionClass C) {
        super.set();
        if (C.CallChildSet()) {
          System.out.println("In Child set method");
    class SetTrial {
         public static void main(String args[])
              Child aChild = new Child();
              Parent theImpl = (Parent)aChild;
                    ConditionClass C = new ConditionClass()
              theImpl.set(C);
    }In any case I would decide in the child's set to call the parent's set or not.

  • How to call function module/ class method of another system.

    Suppose now i am working in System A. And i need to check the system Status of System B, System C, System D....
    my design is to provide an interface. and each system realize the interface individually.now my question is how cani call the interface, because they are in different systems.
    of course i know about the host name, port and logon information over these systems.
    who can give my some suggestions or other solutions.
    thanks in advance.
    Johnney.

    Hello,
    If u want to call a FM of the other system then that FM should be a RFC enable on one.
    <b>CALL FUNCTION func DESTINATION dest.</b>
    Effect
    Executes the function module from an external source (as a Remote Function Call or RFC); dest can be a literal or a variable.
    Depending on the specified destination, the function module is executed in another R/3 or R/2 System. Externally callable function modules must be flagged as such in the Function Builder (of the target system).
    Since each destination defines its own program context, further calls to the same or different function modules with the same destination can access the local memory (global data) of these function modules.
    To maintain existing destinations, choose Tools -> Administration, Administration -> Network -> RFC destinations
    Note
    Under certain circumstances, an RFC may trigger a database commit. For this reason, RFCs must not be used between pairs of SQL statements that open and close a database cursor (such as SELECT... ENDSELECT).

  • How do I call an Application Module method from a EntityImpl class?

    Guys and Gals,
    Using Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.3.0.
    I've got a price update form, that when submitted, takes the part numbers and prices in the form and updates the corresponding Parts' price in the Parts table. Anytime this Parts view object's ReplacementPrice attribute is changed, an application module method needs to be called which updates a whole slew of related view objects. I know you can modify view objects via associations (How do I call an Application Module method from a ViewObjectImpl class? but that's not what I'm trying to do. These AppModuleImpl methods are the hub for all price updates, as many different operations may affect related pricing (base price lists, price buckets, etc) and hence, call the updatePartPricing(key) method.
    For some reason, the below code does not call / run / activate the application module's method. The AppModuleDataControl exists and recordPartHistory(key) is registered and public. At runtime, the am.<method> code is simply ignored, and as a weird side-effect, I cannot navigate out of my current page flow.
      public void setReplacementPrice(Number value)
        setAttributeInternal(REPLACEMENTPRICE, value);
        AppModuleImpl am = (AppModuleImpl)this.getDBTransaction().findApplicationModule("AppModuleDataControl");
        Key key = new Key(new Object[]
            { getPartNumber() });
        am.recordPartHistory(key);  // AppModuleImpl method which records pricing history
        am.updatePartPricing(key); // AppModuleImpl method which updates a whole slew of related pricing tables
      }Any ideas?

    Thanks Timo.
    Turns out the code provided was correct, but the AppModuleImpl method being called was not. A dependent ViewObject wasn't returning the row I was expecting. I then tried to perform some operations on that row, which in turn ... just stopped everything, but didn't give me an error.
    It was the lack of the error that threw me off. I had never messed with calling an AppModuleImpl method from the EntityImpl so I assumed that's what was messing up.
    You are correct. It is available from the ViewRow, but I thought it better to put it in the EntityImpl. This method will be called every time the replacement cost is modified. If I didn't put it in the EntityImpl, I'd have to remember to call it every time a replacement cost changed.
