Campaign Reports

Hi,
I am checking out the Campaign Reporting  functionality.
I need to understand how the 'clicks', 'opens' and 'bounces' data is collected and what needs to be set up for this to be tested and demonstrated on a local PC set-up ( if possible )
I assume that Clicks should collect data where Users click on links set up in the mail
On opening a Campaign e-mail in the mailroot\Pickup directory I note that the URL for a Link I configured appears to be wrongly constructed and appears as:
http://localhost/common/controls/link.ashx?.......
instead of what I think it should be
http:..localhost/<WebtoolsInstanceName>/common/controls/link.ashx?......
have I got something wrong in the set-up
Can opens and bounces be simulated as well ?

In a local environment you are definitely correct the Config Messaging Website needs to be populated with the URL for my local testing :
I entered http://localhost/<InstanceName>
and Now I can see Clicks and Opens data for the campaign - great!
a) Where is the detail of the clicks and opens stored in the Webtools database ?
b) I think it  makes sense given the above setting that I can only detect clicks and Opens on the same LOCAL machine
c) I'd have thought that this URL field should also be populated in a live environment otherwise I can't see this functionality working.
now on to Bounces....
As I am only using a local SMTP server ( which I understand can only deliver mail ) do you think that bounces cannot be tested or have I more settings to make in the Messaging drop down for this to work?

    Hi,
    Is it possible to send e-mail campaigns through Webmail, but still obtain e-mail campaign reports through Business Catalyst?
    I have some e-mail lists that I can only access through webmail, but require the reporting features that Business Catalyst provides.

    Hi Manatee2013,
    It's not possible to use your webmail account for mass mail-outs. This is against our email provider's policy and you may risk having your email account temporarily disabled. Please only use the email marketing campaign within the admin console of your site for this specific feature.
    Note that within webmail you can export your address book. However you'd need to then modify the format of the exported file if you then wish to re-import this list onto your site as a mailing list.

    which can give me following details :

    No of mails delivered.
    No of mails solicited.
    No of duplicate mails.
    No of bounced mails.
    Can you tell me some datasource or even CRM database table where I can get above fields. Is this kind of data is available in CRM server.

    We can get all the Email related information in 0CRM_ERMS_ITEMS data source.

  • Simple Email Campaign - Extracting reports

    Hi everyone,
    I have a simple email campaign running (still active) and I am wondering how you can export the clicks, opens of this campaign. I can't see it in Insights as a campaign and there's nothing in the settings apart from campaign audit, entry and exit lists.

    That's actually a very good point to make. Here's why I think it might not be working. Originally, that "Create a Simple Campaign" option did not exist. That came about during a release at some point last year. Prior that point, the only "Campaign" option was the Campaign Canvas (Create or Open) and the Campaign reporting was setup to be very literal because there are also automation programs in the Program Builder.
    So, to make a long story short, it sounds as though Eloqua, for reporting purposes is defying their own literary definition here by treating a "Simple Campaign" identical to the old email send option from the email builder. This being the case, I would recommend that for the time being, you use the Email Analysis reports in Insight to look at the clicks/opens/etc of the campaign. However, it is probably a good idea to bring it up to your Eloqua rep because now that they have expanded the definition of what a "Campaign" is they should be more clear in Insights.

  • How to create a report of email subscribers

    This seems like a simple thing, but I've searched the forums and tried a few things in admin but can't work this out!
    I have a very simple online form on my website with 'name' and 'email' - it is a newsletter subscribe box. I would like to provide a simple way for my clients to login to their admin and export this list of all subscribers but I am stuck. 
    I have tried in the REPORTS - CUSTOM REPORTS section - but the subscribe form does not show anywhere in the filter criteria so I can not pinpoint this form data on its own (the report I generated brings in the customers for ALL forms using the 'name' and 'email address' fields as I have 3 different forms on the website and ofcourse each form has these two fields)
    I have also tried in: CRM - CASES - then filter by the 'subscribe form' - which is nearly what we need, it is a list of everyone who has used the form which is great, but it does not show their email address only the name and creation date, and if you export it as a spreadsheet it only shows this info.
    We are after a simple spreadsheet or export file that just shows their name and email address.

    You can create a custom report with Double Opt-In Status checked for your site's CRM database and it will generate a report which will include the list.
    If you want to generate the report for specific form then repeat the same step and select the form from "Custom CRM Form Filter" which will include customers list who has used the form.( it should be standard form )
    Rest if you are looking for customers subscribed for any specific campaign , then email campaign reports includes all the information.

  • Email Campaigns

    Hey Guys ... I have a client that wants to use campaigns and he had 2 questions I didn't have the answer to.
    1) How do the campaign reports that show campaign clicks, opens and bounces work? Is that automatically built into the emails or is there something extra I need to add or is there something I need to configure on the server. I've sent some test campaigns to myself by they never update the statistics.
    2) When a campaign is sent to a existing BP (user), is there an activity generated for that BP or some other flag? The client would like to see how many campaigns a customer has been sent and when. I assume the data is available in the database that links users to lists and lists to campaigns but if a user is removed from a list, that will remove him for any record of having being sent a campaign email.

    1) Clicks: Links are rewritten on the send to track all information through the WebTools system before sending the customer on to where they want to go.
    Opens: These are not always effective especially these days, there is a transparent 1x1 pixel that gets placed on the message sent that needs to be viewed and when that happens information is sent back to the WebTools system.
    Bounces: You need to have a POP3 account set up to receive all the bounced messages back to, that email box is then scanned and filed into the appropiate accounts and reports.
    2) A record is put into the ContactLog table with a LogType="email" if successfull or a LogType="error" if not successful, it will be xref'ed by CampaignID, UserID or ProspectID, and EmailAddress there is no xref to ContactList so removing from a list will not remove Log Entries. There is a UI to view this info under Logs on the User Screen.

  • Campaigns run in multiple countries

    My company runs many marketing campaigns in many different countries. I would like to be able to place a Country field (with picklist) or an Address block on the Campaign record page and then be able to select that to display, use as a filter in a list of campaigns or campaign reports. Can anyone give me an idea how this might be possible?
    I find that the Campaign field setup and page layouts do not give this as an option. I could add a new "Country" field and make my own picklist but feel there is surely a better way than resorting to that.
    Currently we try to put the country name in the Campaign Name but this is not always applicable.

    Thanks for the info, Arnold, but user country or region won't work for us, unfortunately. The campaigns are worldwide but set up, owned and run by users in only two countries. As we don't use Books of Business, this is not an option either.
    Perhaps I should put up an enhancement request to allow for the use of the CRMOD Country field for the "home" of the Campaign. Currently, there is no option for this unless I create a field, set as a picklist, and create the whole picklist from scratch.
    Ideally, a Campaign Address Block would be good as this would provide an area to enter the exhibition hall address for, say, a tradeshow as well, or the location etc for a magazine office if it was an advert. Might have a look at the possibility of an additional segment on the Campaign page to see if I can add an address block ..... ?

  • Since Adobe Connect 9 hosted release missing filter date field in registration report tab

    Prior to the new version we use to do the below steps and get a Filter Reports option.  Now that option is missing.  Is there another way to pull this report?  Is this a bug and can be resolved?  Am I missing something?
    -Event Management
    -Shared Events
    -PREP Master 2011 1.0 (Name of our Main Folder)
    -Click on PREP Master (Cty.) 2011 1.0 (Name of on demand stored in main folder)
    --Reports
    -Filter Reports
    -Change Time, Later Time-One day behind time frame 12:00am start to 12:00am finished (Missing Date Filter)
    (Date should have remained the same from Training report, no need to filter date)
    -By Registrants (Attendance Report)(Missing Option/Replaced by Campaign Report)
    -Download Report Data
    If you go to the By Answers Tab you get the Filter Reports link.  If you go to pull Training reports you get the filter link.  But going to Event Management, locating the event, and then trying to pull a report on Registration does NOT give you filter reports like it use to.  We need this.

  • Campaigns "Send One Off" Button

    I have a slight issue with Campaigns in with  WT2007 and the SendOneOff Button.
    In Campaigns there is a Button and text field that allows you to send a single Email recipient a copy of the campaign.  "Send One Copy To:" is the label as it's called.
    When I hit the button it just brings me back to the same page, and the Email never gets sent.   It does nothing.  Does anyone else have this issue?
    Sending campaigns works for me in general.   If I assign a Contact List to the Campaign and send it out it works without a hitch.
    The nice feature about the SendOneOff Button is that it allows you to send the campaign out without tagging it as sent.

    Also noticed under Campaign Report that the SendStart/SendEnd are not showing in Military time, or the AM/PM.  I sent one out at 07:04:25PM and it's showing the following:
    Send Start 2008-May-09 07:04:25
    Send End 2008-May-09 07:04:25
    The same goes for the colDate column on the Report Detail.  (Sends, Clicks, Opens, Bounces)
    Not a biggie, but it could be slightly misleading...

  • Campaign e-mails not being sent

    Hi,
    I am having a problem sending out e-mails from a Contacts List. The campaign report shows that all e-mails have been sent eg 5 when there are 5 contacts in the list. However the e-mails are not actually delivered. Strangely when I send a one off e-mail using the Send one copy to: function the e-mail is delivered. Are these methods using different services?
    We are on SP1 Patch 1 and SAP B1 2007A patch 46
    Can anyone help?

    We do have almost similar problem. This is on SQL 2008.
    when sending a Marketing Campaign with contact list type Emailing List, the emails in the log file
    of the campaign show as sent, but in reality no emails are received.
    We have configuted the SMTP(from Config Settings), the port is open. We used different email servers
    for a test, and none of them were able to solve the issue. All setup has been done according to
    documentation. The DSN is configured as well.
    As soon as we send the campaign, the email posts as send, the number of emails on the top of the
    Campaign Screen on the Assign tab shows one email, and on the bottom is the time and date stamp of
    sent emails. However, the Campaign REPORT shows no Sent messages and we have not received an email.
    The client is using Microsoft Exchange with an outside provider.
    Can someone helpout. We tried all the necessary steps can anyone help out on this issue.

    Thanks Mario, what is missing from the post and this notification is a fundamental pieces of information "TIMES". This is not just your info but also the release by Jackson Palmer on the blog - totally missed there also
    We need to be notified of the sceduled timing of this release not just a vague date which is not specific globally
    25th but we are global - what time specifically 0100am PST is very different to 1030pm PST , the latter being 26th in AU
    Why - because campaigns scheduled for around this time can be impacted, and also if the sites go offile during the maintenance window campaigns can be a wasted exercise.
    Previously mid week schedules have been a matter of heated discussion, yet the support guys say that schedule ahas not been decided upon
    Not planning is planning to fail, and we have witnessed that all to ofetn in the past. BC unfortunately has a history of failing to plan and inform, and this does little to activate confidence in the community.
    I have discussed with Dragos on numerous occassion how the missing ingridents at BC like communication, UX, planning and most importantly understanding from the customer perspective (rather than backroom coders).
    eg at 645am 26th of Sept 2012 we have a email campaign scheduled ( and can be rescheduled ), the issue I see is without your maintenance window timings being published in a timely manner how can we tell if we move to a sooner or later timing. You have to agree it is disasterious marketing to blast out a campaign and find systems down when customers open newsletter offers and want to shop then.
    If the time schedule is listed somewhere else even more shame that it is overlooked as an inclusion here plus that Chat team are not informed and kept up to date and the blog is just fluff sales and chest beating. That is not support of partners regargless of paid or free status.
    To much time is wasted with this sort of unthinking about unpublished / incomplete notifications, Live chat guy wasted > 15 min of his and my time becuase they don't know either, how many others are being inconvenienced by fialing to plan and notify information to  act upon, this communication in the blog is good info but by itself useless and creates more doubt and lack or faith. Just look at the "hope in the comments"

    Please be aware that in patch 11 the requirement that a delivery have a tracking number associated with it was lifted per multiple customer requests. Meaning, all deliveries that synch to web tools from B1 will trigger the messaging service to send a delivery notification if so enabled.
    So, if you have deliveries in B1 that have no tracking number on them, when they synch to Web tools they will send the delivery confirmation email. Basically any delivery that exists in Web tools that does not have a tracking number has never been sent, and after patch 11 will be sent, so you may end up sending delivery confirmations to your customers for orders that were placed years ago.
    Obviously this is not good. What you can do is use a local smtp server, which is recommended anyways, and monitor the pickup folder for emails that would be sent out. Pause the local smtp server BEFORE you upgrade to patch 11, watch the pickup directory and manually delete any emails that you don't want to go out.
    As there may be a large number of emails that you do not wish delivered, you may wish to perform a search on that folder for files containing the text of the undesired emails, such as "Your order has been shipped". Move those emails to a seperate folder, then search for any emails that do not contain the current date, or the dates that you know delivery notifications have not been sent for. A great tool for this is Total Commander, and it's free.
    There is also a switch in the Admin - config settings - messaging page that you can use to disable the sending of shipment notifications entirely. But make sure you restart the messaging service after you change this setting as the old setting might be cached in the service.

  • WebTools 2007 - Messaging Set Up

    Hello everyone,
    Are there any instructions to setting up messaging in WebTools 2007?  I am using patch 4, but cannot find any documentation out there to set this up.  If someone could please point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Fristen,
    I just been working through this and finally have most of it working.  The key for me for outbound emails was to use the local SMTP server instead of trying to send straight out to an external smtp server.   If you haven't done this I'd suggest:
    1. admin/common/webconfig/webconfigs.aspx  - Messaging options
        - Make sure you have C:\Inetpub\mailroot\Pickup (or relevant path for your local SMTP server pickup dir).
        - Make sure you have no value in the SMTP server host field (so it uses the local pickup dir)
        - Make sure you have any options tcked you need for sending emails (campaigns, orders, deliveries etc).
    2. In IIS, for the SMTP server properties, go to the Delivery tab (windows server 2003) and choose advanced.  You need to
       set the smart host value to the external SMTP server.
    3.  To test from here, firstly stop your local SMTP server and run your scenario.  WebTools should generate the outbound
        emails and leave them in the Pickup directory.  Open one and check the content is as expected.
    4.  Restart your SMTP server and it should send out the pending emails.  If that works, but they never arrive you may have
        spam filtering or something else outside of webtools intercepting them.
    The only loggin I know of is under Program File\SAP\SAP Business One Web Tools\Installer\logs.  The current.log is an XML log capturing the high level steps of messaging.  It will only tell you which phases of messaging it's going through though - I don't believe there's any way to enable low level loging.
    Good luck with it.  I have all the above working fine, but have not been able to get processing of bounce emails working - which is needed for campaign reporting.  If you get that working I'd love to hear that!

  • Obiee 11g - Formula between fixed date and variable date

    Need some advice please, I’m trying to modify a campaign report for Marketing so we can track over different periods of time. For example
    Start Date +7 days (all volume within this period)
    Start Date +28 days ( all Volume within this period)
    And so on and so on….
    BUT I’m struggling to use a formula that will do this. The start date for a campaign will always be different hence why we want capture everything between Start Date + (what ever number of days are set). In the report we have a start date, campaign name and number converted to application (Measure). Any help here would be brilliant lol. At the moment when we go into the report, it gives us the measure count to date. We just want to split it down over different periods basically.

    I assume we are talking about PCR for payroll. In this case look at documentation for operation NUM:

         Date types are taken from table T548Y.
    Your operation would look like:
      NUM=Faaesb
          F          Fixed indicator for deadline calculation

                        calculated; if the date type is not 'nn,'
                        the second position is left blank.
             e          Unit, in which the duration is calculated:
                        T = days
                        W = week
    s         End date of period to be calculated:
              (blank)  End of current payroll period
              J        End of current calendar year
              A        Start of current calendar year
              B        Start of WPBP period
             No other specifications are possible.
    So it depends on what kind of fixed date you need.
