  • HT1386 I have an older iPhone (3gs) and need to upgrade to a newer phone (4S).  I need to get my NOTES, CALENDAR, CONTACTS, PICTURES, etc backed up on iTunes so I can get that data loaded onto the new phone.  But not sure how to do that.

I'm assuming it's trying to tell me I have an older iTunes Library, but don't know that.  Geez, maybe people over 60 shouldn't have iPhones, iTunes just bafles me.

  • Two customer service reps cannot be wrong? or can they!!!

    I ordered triple play last year as i was getting a better price if I included the TV, I never connected the DVR or TV service as I like my DirecTV NFL package.
    After one year, I noticed that Verizon was charging me 20 dollars for the DVR so I called the customer service and asked If I can just downgrade my service to double play, I was told yes and that price will go down by 25 dollars to around 63 dollars a month.
    I returned my equipment to the local Verizon store, after a week I started getting voice mail messages during day time to my home number that my TV service will get cancelled if I do not call them back, no extension number was provided.
    I called the general customer service number and they said they understand I want to cancel my TV service due to cost of DVR.
    I asked to confirm what my cost will be for double play from now, I was clearly told 63 dollars and some cents.
    One week later I get a bill for more than 100 dollars????
    I have put an order with comcast to provide me services starting next billing cycle, should not be hard to port my number.
    I do not beleive I am upset just because I was charged more but more importantly about being lied to by two of your customer service reps. Is this a coincidence or is it a culture in your company ???

    No.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

  • Customer service problems. Anyone at HP I can talk to?

    I'm having a horrible customer service experience with HP with regards to a repair to my brand-new Pavillion PC. The problem has been ongoing for a month, and I'm never able to get a straight answer our of the customer support reps as to when the unit will be shipped back to me.
    Is there anyone at HP I can talk to outside of the front-line customer service center to try and resolve this? 

    Tech_Rain - thanks for taking the time to reply to my post, I'm sure the hell I've been through with HP is hardly your fault, but frankly, your reply is indicative of the appalling customer service I've encountered with HP. Your post is hardly timely (over a month since I made my post), nor at all helpful.
    I ended up calling tech support on a daily basis in order to try and expedite the process, and was given conflicting, incorrect information, and straight out lied to. Nobody seemed to have any clue as to when I could expect my computer to be fixed - a brand new computer which HP had delivered to me in a defective condition. After a comedy of errors involving misplaced warranty statuses, empty boxes being shipped to me, and general incompetence from tech support representatives, my case was transferred to a case manager.
    This failed to improve matters. After the new expedited date for my repair came and went without the repair center ever updating my ticket, I was offered a replacement PC. The date when my PC was due to ship then came and went, another call to the case manager (who had again failed to call me with an update by the promised date), and I ask for my money back. Eventually, I receive a check. 
    Numerous HP representatives promised to call me back with updates on status. Never once did that happen. HP failed to deliver a working PC, failed to log a repair ticket until I called back a second time, failed to deliver a return box until I called back, failed to provide me with promised status updates, failed to expedite the repair as promised, failed to deliver on promised repair dates, and failed to ship a replacement computer by the promised date. 
    I took my check, spent it on components at newegg.com, and built my new computer myself - a process that took less time than it took HP to ship me my original defective computer.
    All in all, a total failure on the part of HP to serve their customer. I will never buy another product from HP again.

    I had been waiting, went to check on other stuff while periodically checking back on the computer, then was told that it too ME too long to get back to them. The last line from Abhinav came through AS I was typing my response.
    Furthermore, I have never contacted adobe before, I am a new customer.The third line really confused me, "We have not heard from you in some time." Hence my initial response that I have never contacted them, why would Abhinav have expected me to have been heard from ever?
    I realized when the second post regarding my lack of rapidity responding that Abhinav apparently expected that my response time would be light years faster than Adobe's.
    I know that Adobe has representatives on this forum. I hope this example can be used in some type of training that allows people, who have been waiting for a while, a goodly amount of time to respond. Perhaps I am distracted by the forums or have gone to clean some dishes...poor show.

    I  am sorry you feel that way. But I have run into many times people I couldn't understand people on the other end of the phone.
    I admit I am not  perfect. Far from it. English and Grammar was not my strong suite in school.  I was more into Electronics, Woodworking, Algebra, & Trig. In English I was barely average. I grew up during a time, where only women and students destined to go to a Major College/ University took typing.
    So excuse my hunt & peck typing.
    And although I live in a small town I run into all languages, we have Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Mexican (or Spanish Speaking), German/Austrian, Polish, Indians (from India), Sieks, Jewish People, Blacks, etc. I have no problem with the accents. What accents I do have any problem with are usually Indian/Sieks. And only if they have just arrived. If I happen to run into any that have been a few years I have no trouble.
    Typically the Indian/Sieks  own/run convenience stores, hotel/motels. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Mexican, Polish, usually either work for or own Restaurants, The Jewish people usually own clothing businesses , The German/Austrian usually in various types of Service businesses.  They all work hard.
    I still say anyone manning phones should be required to be trained in the language they are supposed serve, and be required take Diction classes.
    You may have been lucky and never got hold of someone, you can't understand on the phone. But I have on too many occasions.
    Sorry if I come off as Biased, or raciest. I am neither.

  • Nightmare Customer Service Verizon - DAD cannot connect phone line after fiber installation

    Similar to other complaints I have seen online yet Verizon customer service reps deny they have ever heard of the problem.  After FIOS installation my ADT system stopped communicating.
    We had Verizon FIOS triple play installed last August (2012) after a summer long marketing campaign by Verizon.  Several trips to get it.   A dropped phone number transfer order and Verizon tried to issue me a new phone number ... that took several attempts to fix. 
    Sept 2012 Our ADT service calls us to inform us our monitored alarm system stopped communicating  since Aug ... I call ADT  -they say it was Verizons fault, but could come out and fix it for a fee.  It took months to getr back to Verizon
    I first spent almost an hour online last night with a Verizon rep who claimed it was not Verizon's fault - Claiming that all the tech had to do was deliver a phone signal to one jack.  I called Verizon customer service and wasted time with that rep also.  I asked hat a supervisor call and the rep could not confirm that a supervisor would even get back to me.

    Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases".
    There you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions.

  • I have made 3 separate appleid accounts and none of them give the option of not adding a credit card! I can't get anything free apps on my phone and when I called apple they said it would cost 300 dollars for them to tell me how to fix it!!! Help!!!!!!!!

  • HT1349 I have podcasts on my iphone that are not showing up in iTunes. I can't get the delete arrow on the phone and can't delete from iTunes. Any ideas?

    I would like to delete a number of podcasts from my iPhone. They do not show up in iTunes and when I pull the arrow on the phone it does not give me a delete option. I am using a Windows 7 PC. Recently I had to restore my computer, when I first reconnected my iPhone I thought it might sync it and wipe out everything on my iPhone, but it didn't do that. The only thing that seems messed up is the podcasts.  I do have an app called Bookmark that I use to listen to books and podcasts. Thanks for any ideas.

    The call simply did not go through.  It happens with cell phones.

  • How do I get customer service using email rather than phone in Thailand

    I have not received an order acknowledgement from my ipad 2 purchase made over the internet (Thailand) on May 6. The money has been taken from checking account already. On the "We keep you informed" support page it says I should have received the email in 24 hours. It's been 3 business days. Are other people experiencing the same?

    1st of all, by activating the "new" phone, you are agreeing to the ToS and "giving your ok".
    Next, when you renewed 2 yrs ago, you signed a contract in which you had 30 days to return the phone in exchange for a "new" one. After this 30 day period, you "agreed" to refurbished replacements by signing the original contract and activating your original phone, thus agreeing to the ToS. YOU were not willing to adhere to the contract and ToS which you had previously agreed to, but you now want Verizon to follow those terms that you have already backed out on?
