Can I install OEM windows
Hello if I wan't to install windows on my mac using bootcamp can I use the OEM version of windows. Thanks
Windows 7 and previous versions will not install on a external drive. It is one of the restrictions of windows. It must be installed to a internal hard drive or ssd, the drive must be internal to the computer. Actually connected directly to the main system board of the computer and not to any external type ports.
Windows 8 does have a feature/method for installing to a external drive but I have no idea how it is done.
Since you are looking at installing windows 7 you have to install that to the internal drive on the mac using boot camp assistant.
So you can't install it on a usb drive on a windows pc and then move it to your mac.

Can not install OEM Windows 7 64 bit on iMac 24"
I have a late 2006 iMac 24" white. I have installed Lion with Boot camp 4.0. I am attempting to install Windows 7 64 bit OEM. At Step 3 "Install Windows" of the Installation and Setup Guide the system does not start the Windows 7 installer. Please Help!
I found another thread about running Windows 7 64 Bit on systems other than in a list provided by Apple. I ran the suggested Terminal Command with the following result:
george-halls-imac:~ georgehall$ ioreg -l -p IODeviceTree | grep firmware-abi
| | "firmware-abi" = <"EFI32">
Does this mean that I can not run 64 Bit Windows 7 on my system? Do I need to upgrade the firmware? Can I change this parameter and get the system to boot the Windows 7 install disk?
My System is an iMac 24" white (late 2006), 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4 GB mem. NVIVIA GeForce 7600 GT

How can I install new windows on NB200-10z without a CD drive?
Hi,
I have a mini laptop "Toshiba nb200-10z" and it doesnt startup anymore.
I would like to do a recovery, but it also doesnt work.
I know there is a shortcut like press the 0 button when the laptop is starting up.
With this shortcut you can start the recovery to reset the software.
But when I press the 0 button it gives me an error.
So I think the recovery drive/partition is lost.
How can I install new windows on this minilaptop without a CD drive?I have found a much easier way to install Windows 7 from a USB Flash drive. Unlike other methods where you have to write complicated commands, this method can be completed even by those who have very little computer background.
The whole process takes only two steps, run UNetbootin, load the Windows 7 ISO file, and finally restart your computer.
Before you begin, you will require the following:
USB Flash Drive (4GB minimum)
Windows 7 ISO Image file
UNetbootin
Note: If UNetbootin doesnt work, try out the Microsofts official tool called Windows 7 USB/DVD Tool.
Now insert the USB drive, run UNetbootin, and select Disk Image as ISO. Browse your local drive for Windows 7 ISO that you downloaded and click Open. Now Select Type as USB and choose the drive. Once done, it will look like a bit similar to the screenshot shown below.
Click OK and it will begin extracting all installation files to the USB drive. The whole process will take some time (10-15 minutes), so have patience.
Once the installation is complete, reboot your computer. Now while your system is starting up press the appropriate button (usually F1, F2, F12, ESC, Backspace, or Escape) to bring up Bios Boot Menu.
Change the startup order to boot USB by default, usually you will have to press F6 to move the selected USB device on top. Once done, save changes and restart the system.

how can I install C:\WINDOWS\system32\regsvr32 Msxml3.dll for Nokia N70 on windows XP?
Run command:
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
Msxml3.dll is a Microsoft XML parser dynamic link library. It is
obviously needed by PC Suite, but wasn't registered as installed
by the system. Using the "regsvr32" command on the .dll registers the file.

if it could please how?Welcome to the forums !
Officially, Oracle has not certified any database software for Windows 7 as of today.
That does not prevent folks from trying to install :-) see Oracle 11g on Windows 7 as an example.
Use the search feature to find other threads.
Pl note that if you run into issues, you are on your own.

Can we install JDeveloper (Window NT/2000) on Windows 98..??
Can we install JDeveloper (Window NT/2000) on Windows 98?
If not, is there a version available for Windows 98?
ThanksYes, you can. Just insert the linux CD in the CD-ROM drive and when asked about the internal hard disk, be careful not to touch it. Also you should use GRUB or LILO to make the system dual bootable. You can go to http://www.tldp.org and look for the corresponding document.

Can I install additional Windows Partition?
Hi,
I currently have a Mac Pro OS X 10.5.8 with a 500 GB HD (primary) with Boot Camp 2.1 with a 220 GB Windows Vista (32 bit) partition running on my system. Works great.
I just purchased an Western Digital Black Caviar 1 TB internal drive and I own an unused copy of Windows XP SP2.
Can I partition my new drive (secondary) with Bootcamp Assistant and create a Windows XP partition that I can boot up into as well as my Vista partition?
Please Help!
Thank you,
LeapstepmanSo are you technically saying that Boot camp doesn't allow the user to add more than one Windows installation? I know it doesn't allow more than one install per a volume. But I was hoping to split my 1 TB drive into 500 GB partitions and allocate one partition to OS X and the other to the new Windows XP install.
I found below info but it wasn't 100% clear to me if it is saying only one Windows partition per each volume or one Windows partition period.
===========================
From Boot Camp 2.0 FAQs:
I have more than one hard drive, can I install Microsoft Windows on any drive?
You can install only one Windows partition on any of your computer volumes. The Setup Assistant will allow you to partition drives, or to install Microsoft Windows on an entire drive if it does not contain Mac OS X.

Can't install OEM version of WinXP on the K7N2 Delta!??!?
I posted on amdmb.com's forums about how I cannot get WinXP to install on my hard drive connected to the k7n2 delta. Wonkanoby, a senior moderator on one of the boards here, and a visiotor on those boards at amdmb.com, stated that OEM versions won't work on this mainboard and you have to have a retail box windows version. Is this true? if so, this is complete crap! If MSI thinks I'm going to spend $150 bucks on a retail boxed version of Xp when I have a perfectly fine working copy right here, they are N U T S!!! This has got to be the most outrageous thing I've ever heard concerning mainboard issues. I hope MSI realizes they will either be working on a bios fix or they're paying me the restocking fee to send this board back to Newegg.

How to Install the OEM Version Windows XP Professional
Last updated: 6/18/02
Q. How Do You Install the Windows XP Pro OEM Version?
A. I install it on a new computer (or hard disk drive taken down to "bare metal") from the DOS prompt with a Windows 98 Startup floppy (http://duxcw.com/digest/Fromshop/software/windows/startup/startup.htm). Put a copy of smartdrv.exe on the Startup floppy. You should be able to find a copy on and existing Windows 9x/Me computer at C:windows. It is on the CD’s in D:win98. Boot to the floppy and use fdisk to partition the drive (the process the same as that at http://duxcw.com/digest/Howto/software/windows/upgrade/fdisk.htm. Format the C: drive. Do not install the system files. If you have more than one partition, they can be formatted during the Windows XP installation or with Windows XP after it is installed. Also, use fdisk to manually make C: active if there is more one partition. Load smartdrv.exe…
A:>smartdrv.exe
…and run D:i386winnt.exe, where D: is your CD-ROKM drive.
Do not delete or reformat C: with this method. Winnt.exe copies the install files to that partition. You can convert it to NTFS and that process is fast. It should also work if the i386 directory is copied to a scratch hard disk and the hard disk is connected to the secondary IDE interface.
OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer = a company that makes/markets computers (and parts), etc. which include parts made by other companies, and not the “original” manufacturer as OEM implies, just masquerading as one. Licenses of OEM versions of Windows, etc. software are sold to computer manufactures for installation on new computers. They are full versions of Windows, not upgrades. They are widely available on the "grey market" and Internet and cost considerably less than retail full versions. Just be careful not to purchase a pirated copy. -
Installing OEM Windows 8.1 on a new SSD
How do I install the OEM Windows 8.1 OS that shipped with my new desktop PC on a new SSD? I have created the HP recovery discs but I can not find instructions for using them to install Windows on a new drive. There are numerous posts about doing this on this forum but none with a consensus. It goes from 'it can't be done", "you need third party disc software" to "yes, it's easily done" followed by links to existing HP tutorials that don't actually address the procedure. The one that comes the closest is this one: HP PCs - Recovering your computer from a USB flash drive I scroll down to Desktop computer (Windows 8) and under that Recovery from a USB flash drive (Windows 8).Those instructions seem like they might work but I have Discs not a USB drive and I'm not permitted to make a second one.So my question is will the discs work the same way as the Flash drive? And my next question is, will these instructions work without resulting in a disk size error? The SSD is a Samsung 850 Pro 256GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD The PC shipped with a 2 TB Seagate Hard Drive. RAM: 12.0 GBHi: See if this works... 1. You have to change two settings in the BIOS in order to boot from a DVD. See the info at the link below for what settings to change. http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03659945 2. Put disk 1 in the dvd drive and restart the PC. Tap the esc key to get a menu options list. Select the F9 boot options menu from the list. Select the DVD drive and hit the enter key. Watch the screen for further instructions. Here are some problems that may occur based on specific circumstances... 1. If the SSD you bought is much smaller than the factory hard drive you removed, you may get an error that states in substance that the disks won't work on a smaller hard drive. 2. If you made any hardware changes to the PC such as changing the graphics card, the recovery disks may not work. This should not be applicable if you added memory or the fact that you just added a SSD (other than #1 above). If the recovery disks you made don't work, see if making a plain W8.1 installation disk by following the instructions from the link below allows you to install W8.1. Hopefully this media will work with the W8.1 OEM product key encrypted in your PC's BIOS. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

Can I install "just" windows XP on my mac mini? no bootcamp. no parallels
Hi,
The question is can I (and how can I) install only the windows xp home or professional OS on a mac mini 1.5 core solo (i.e., turning it into a windows only machine). I want to be cIear that I don't want to duel-boot (i.e., boot camp) or use a VM (ie., parallels), but just a regular x86 computer that is running (sigh with me) Windows.
I imagine that if I do a clean and proper format of the mac mini, start it up and insert the Windows disk, everything will work.
Another question I have is, after 2 years, will I be able to put OS X back on? (Let's assume I have backed up all my files on an external drive.)
Mac miniHi Matthew!
Boot Camp will be the closest you'll come to your goal. A Mac is afterall intended to run Mac OS software first and foremost and Windows is only a secondary OS. But it is possible to boot into Windows after using Boot Camp to get it installed and then delete the Mac partition. You can always reinstall the Mac OS later.
Or you can still use Boot Camp to get Windows installed and just never boot back into Mac OS X (leaving it on its own partition). But why have Apple hardware just to do that? You'd be better off selling your Mac Mini and purchasing an Intel machine that will run Windows natively.
Hope this helps! bill

Can not install a Windows ISO in Boot Camp
I created a partition for Boot Camp and I am ready to install Windows. Downloaded a trial Windows 7 ISO from MS and copied to a flash drive. Boot Camp does not recognize the ISO and is looking for an installation disk. How can I Install the downloaded ISO?
Hi NCMau,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you are trying to install Windows using Bootcamp on your Apple computer. I understand you are using a trial version of Windows as well. To install Windows via Bootcamp on your Apple computer, Windows must be the full version. Please refer to the attached article for further information.
Mac Basics: Using Windows on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support
Requirements
To use Boot Camp, you need:
An Intel-based Mac with a built-in keyboard, external USB keyboard, or an Apple supplied wireless keyboard, and a built-in trackpad, USB mouse, USB trackpad, or Apple supplied wireless mouse or trackpad.
Mac OS X v10.5 or later.
The latest firmware updates available for your Mac.
Boot Camp Assistant, which is located in /Applications/Utilities/ . You can also open Launchpad and type Boot Camp Assistant in the search field.
A DVD or downloaded (ISO) "full version" of Windows installation media. Boot Camp does not include Windows.
For additional requirements, see Boot Camp: System requirements for Microsoft Windows

Showing 0 value in vertical bar chart
Hi, is it possible to show the 0 value in a bar chart using Show data labels "Always"? By default it is suppressed. Zero is a success value in quality reporting and my clients want it to be visible, so they do not confuse it with "no data delivered".
