Can't activate trial versionof Office 2013

I downloaded the trial version of Office professional plus 2013 in January - I couldn't install it as I didn't have a disc drive on my laptop.  I have now set it up on another laptop but I cant activate it - it is stating that the office product is
not associated with my Microsoft account. I have 2 days to activate it. How do you activate this trial version? Please give me an simple answer - I am a basic computer user!
Thanks
clarecan

Follow the standard process to install Office 2013 pro plus trail version, you will download the installation and product key for trial version, right?
What’s going on when you install it in your first machine?
After you install Office 2013 in second machine, have you typed the correct product key under the proper Microsoft account?
In any Office product, try to switch Microsoft account in File > Account and type the product key you’ve got.
If you still failed to activate Office, please re-apply the product key from the link below:

how can I activate macros in office power point 2008?
thanks in advance for your help.

As Office is not an Apple product, I strongly recommend asking in the Microsoft Office:Mac forums here:
    Office for Mac forums
Everyone there is a Mac user AND an Office user, something you can't say about Apple's forums. You will get the fastest help there and I think you will find the contributors more than helpful.
As I recall, macros were stripped From Office 2008, but you'll get the most definitie answer in the forums I linked for you.

  • Can't activate MS Project standard 2013

I buy copies of MS Office 2013 when required for new laptops and absolutely hate the on-line system for activation where my account just gives a list of products purchased with no install dates, no idea which computer they are installed on etc. Recently
I purchased a few copies of MS Project 2013 which is activated in the same way. On the first laptop this installed fine, but on a second laptop the activation just does not work. I can see two MS Project 2013 entries in my list of software and used the top
one assuming the most recent added software is at the top (although as mentioned, there are no dates to allow this to be determined). I have tried again and again and even tried both entries in case they are not listed in the correct order. No matter what
I do, it will not activate the software. The software itself just gives an error if you try to activate over the internet which I have noticed is the case for all new software that must be activated via your MS account. I have tried the phone activation and
it asks to press 1 if the software is installed on one computer or 2 if the software is installed on more than one computer! It is not installed on any computer and there is no option to press 0. The massive price of this software makes me particularly angry
when activation doesn't work. Is there any human at MS that can sort this mess out and if so what telephone do I need to call please (UK). Thanks so much for any help that you can give me.

    Martin,
I can understand your frustration. However, most of us who offer help here are not Microsoft employees.
My suggestion would be start by either calling the customer service (https://support.microsoft.com/gp/customer-service-phone-numbers/en-gb) or by ciontacting your local Microsoft Representative.

  • Can not reply email in Office 2013 when updating Server Pack 1

    Dear All,
My company using office 2013 Pro and Google Apps Email. We can use send/receive normally. But when I updated Office to Office 2013 to SP1, it happened one problem when I reply mail.
"The operation failed. The messaging interface have returned an unknown error, If the Problem persists, restart Outlook" that is a message I received from outlook. When I check update in control panel I see one package update for
Microsoft Outlook "Update for Microsoft Outlook 2013 (KB2863911) 32-Bit Edition". When I remove this update package it is normal. I don't know the reason why, everybody can help me to resolve this issue.
Note: It is Ok with Office 365, and other mail... excluded Gmail.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
Sorry for the delay. Do you mean the problem was fixed after you removed KB2863911? I haven't heard such issue when installing KB2863911.

  • How can I get back (Microsoft Office 2013), I recently deleted b/c Firefox questioned it?

I managed to get back my Microsoft Office 2013 in this pc by activating required program. After a restart, I was prompted by Firefox screen to resume previous settings or continue with the new one. I accidentally checked the wrong box and got me back to continue using my old program (2003 version).

Sounds that Firefox had crashed or otherwise wasn't closed correctly the previous time.
Any choice made there should not have effect on other programs.<br />
If you didn't restore the windows from the previous session, but started a new session then the tabs from the previous session are most likely lost if you have started Firefox more than once and a new sessionstore.bak file has been created.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/restore-previous-session
If you didn't succeed to finish the registration of a new program then you could try to repeat that action in the MS Office program.
Best would be to make sure that Firefox is already running and if possible then copy the link and paste it in the Firefox location bar manually to prevent this issue from happening again.

  • Can't activate trial version of InDesign

When I launch the trial version of InDesign CS6, it prompts me to login to the Adobe web site.  It keeps telling me that I do not have an internet connection or my clock is set incorrectly.  Neither are true.  I have an ethernet connection and m y clock is fine.  Help!

Hemenway I would recommend trying the steps listed in Sign in or activation errors | CS6, CS5.5 Subscriptions, CS6 Perpetual - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html.  It maybe due to an entry in your host file.

  • Running Excel VBA code developed in Office 2010 under office 2013

I have developed a large application successfully under Excel 2010 and I have a 30 day trial of office 2013. My applications will not run. However if I take a piece of code from the application and open a new spreadsheet under 2013 and place it in a sub
and then run it ...works fine. So code that runs perfectly in an office 2010 environment will not run in the 2013 environment. I have changed the macro security settings to the most liberal and set the "trust VBA object model" option...still won't
work. I know its not the code because I can insert it in a new sheet and run it. PLEASE HELP

    Hello Roderick,
It is not clear whether the code is working or not...+

    I see the following statements:
    > and then run it ...works fine
and then you wrote the opposite:
    > will not run in the 2013 environment
Can you run the code under the debugger? Does it work in Office 2013?

    Event ID 11327

    Event ID 1023:
Product: Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 - Update 'Update for Microsoft Office 2013 (KB2956177) 32-Bit Edition' could not be installed. Error code 1603
Error within Software Center: The software change returned error code 0x80070643.
These errors only occur while updating through SCCM 2012 R2 automatic software updates. I can download the update directly from the Microsoft site and install without any errors. I am a new to SCCM, but was able to push out updates for Windows 7 and Office
2010 without errors. After further testing I found that editing the Office 2013 install with the customization tool would allow the update to run. My MSP file custom install has "Remove Files" set to delete links on a mapped network drive (V:\).
I am not sure how Office 2013 updates through SCCM (only) would care about a custom install portion that should be unrelated.
I plan to exclude the V drive file removals from the custom install and just do it from a script. However, I am not sure what to do about updating the machines which currently have 2013 installed and constantly error while updating through SCCM.

you are getting into different things here. Creating the ADR and runs every-time ? Microsoft do not release patches everyday and there is no point running the ADR everytime.coming to the question , how did you create and update the MSP for the Office Update
file ? using ADR ,for deploying the updates, you will not have facility to control the command line options . for the drive letter issue (Product:
Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 -- Error 1327), you can refer
http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/327763. you can try installing the MS office 2013 on a PC without any drive mappings and try the update. I suppose the issue could be with the drive mapping something related.

  • Choosing Office 2013 volume licensing plan ... or going retail ... or subscription ... or hunting for 2010 ... what a headache ...

Our company currently runs an office software equivalent comparable to Office 2003 level. I was researching options (licensing!) for stepping up our office to real Microsoft Office product ... and got stuck with that idea ... totally confused at this point.
Am I missing something or the cheapest SMB volume licensing option for MS Office 2013 (Standard, no Access component) is like twice as expensive as the retail equivalent? Why is that so? It makes no sense to me at all.
I can find retail box of Office 2013 Home and Business for around $190 while the cheapest Open License for similar equivalent seems to be priced at $369 (what!?) ... and that is even without Software Assurance?
Makes it kinda hard to convince management about benefits of VL program over retail ... especially since we are not a Volume Licensed customer (yet) and this purchase *might* make it worth becoming one (does it?).
On top of that I can't even make decision if we should really go with Office 2013 after reading about live/online account requirement for activation, and here a question how does it work in volume licensing version? I assume it will be a great pain with
installs from retail media and activation, but VL should have some tools or workarounds for that, no? I read that Office 2010 didn't have such problems and am sad I didn't push towards it when it was still available on retail market.
Maybe we should go with 2013 subscription for first year and see how that works for us ...
One thing for sure, I've been digging around this subject for weeks and my headache doesn't want to go away.
    Open to suggestions.

    anybody, any insights?
Pls, also note that I run a one person IT department for this company, so all the dirty work (installs) will be done by me, hence my question. I can do deployments via GPO, but would like to know about activation gotchas (MS live accounts) for Office 2013,
is that true for retail licenses?
As per Volume Licensing, am I looking right and cheapest 1 computer Office 2013 open license stands for like $369? why is i so expensive in volume licensing plans? I doubt our management approves it this way ... which probably means retail licensing for
me and a great headache with activations over a sneaker net ... times 30 ...

  • Affects when migrating from Office 2013 to Office 365

I currently have office 2013, with two email addresses being used in Outlook.  I need to download Office 365 which I have already purchased.   Will this have any affect on my two Outlook email addresses, and all the emails that are there?

    Hi,
The activation and licensing are different between the Office 2013 and Office 365. We can't just
switch activated Office 2013 to Office 365. We can only uninstall Office 2013 and then install Office 365. In theory, we won't lose any emails in the email accounts configured in Office 2013. Just in case, we can back up your Outlook data files
of the two email accounts and then conduct the migration. To back up the data files, please refer:

  • Default appv Office 2013 package fail

I created office 2013 package with ODT.
Before tweaking  the package I decided just to see if default configuration will work. So I didn't exclude any product from the package and want to see the result of Office language. I found the info that Office will take the OS language by default
and I distribute it to test Windows 7 French.
For a test I copied the AppVPackages folder created by ODT containging .appv to Content share and Published the package to computer group containing 2 test computers.
I get this error in eventvwr on client machine:
Package {d24c3bdd-8fad-44d3-998c-933f8f053682} version {047f1eb5-96e8-416b-9231-31f7030afd6c} failed configuration in folder 'C:\ProgramData\App-V\D24C3BDD-8FAD-44D3-998C-933F8F053682\047F1EB5-96E8-416B-9231-31F7030AFD6C' with error 0x79100710-0xD.
Do I have to change something in ProPlus_x86_DeploymaneConfig.xml prior publishing?
I renamed AppvPackages folder containing .appv and xml files more distinguished name on Content share. Could it be the reason of error?

No, you should not require to change anything in the Deployment Configuration XML file.
Can you get a sequenced Office 2013 to work in any scenario e.g. on an English language machine for example?

  • Office 2013 MRU Migiration

    Hi,
We are about to roll out Office 2013 to our 400 odd user, I'm trying to get the MRU to migrate across from offcie 2010, however it doesn't migrate from the default install or our customized transform file.
i have found it does migrate the reg keys for them, from the office 2010 to office 2013 child(see below)
    HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\File MRU
However Office 2013 does not read this location when logged in as a domain user it reads the File MRU from
    HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\User MRU\AD_*Hash*\File MRU
I have created a script that can migrate the settings after office 2013 has opened a word document but will be extremely tedious for our 400 users
Is there a way to re-point office 2013 to look a the first Reg key location for its file MRU?
or what is the sha512 hash generated from so we can run a script at the end of installation to copy the keys into the correct location.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Office 2013 introduced Sign in feature, whenever a new account is signed in through the Office 2013 interface, a new
LiveId_xxx or AD_xxx subkey is created.
This is kind of by design in Office 2013, I'm afraid we cannot "re-point office 2013 to look a the first Reg key location for its file MRU".
For you case, probably you can create a script which can be triggered whenever a new account is signed in, to detect the
AD_xxx subkey, then copy the keys into the correct location.
I'm not sure if this is possible as I'm personally not familiar with script. If you need help on this, you can post in the forum of
    Script Center.
    Thanks for your understanding.
