Can't Connect on localhost on new install of CM 13

Just installed CM 13 to try. Install went fine but when i run, it can't connect to localhost. I have tried replacing localhost with the computer name. Thinking it could be the port but i'm not sure how to change. Also thought it could be firewall. I'm using windows firewall. Computer is XP.
thanks

Open task manager and bring up the processes tab.
Look for 'ExpService.exe'
Is the memory usage around 350-380k?
If not, I would check the log files (expconsole.log or server.log) for any port conflict messages.
To rule out the firewall, just turn it off and restart the CM service.

  • Can't connect to sshd on new install

Background: I just did a fresh install of Solaris 10 downloaded straight from sun.com. It's a sol10 sparc distro on an older e420r (UltraSPARC II's).
The install went fine. In fact, it was easier to get everything up and running installing from scratch then the 2 servers we ordered with Sol10 preinstalled.
I have one problem though. I cannot SSH into the machine. I cannot even SSH into the machine from itself (ssh localhost). No matter where I'm coming from, I get:
Connection closed by ###.###.###.###I've checked the service, and it's running fine. I've tried restarting it numerous times, and nothing. Here's the service info:

Am I missing something? Is there something like hosts.deny/host.allow (there are no hosts.allow/deny in /etc/) that I don't know about (I'm pretty green with Solaris)?

I see your error message but I'm not sure where
that's comming from. Is it comming from ssh the
client? Or is this a server error from some debug
    log?
If after you try all the other tips and it is still
not working, then disable sshd on the problem host.
Manually run ssh daemon in debug mode in the
    foreground.
    Then on another host
    ssh -v -v -v toproblemhost
Then post the full screen outputs, from both the
    client and the daemon.
    Cheers,
~~saI'm not sure how to run sshd in debug mode. I looked at the manifest for the service, and the program which runs the start/stop for sshd seems to only have a start and stop option. Anyway, here's the output from the client:

I would like to transfer the music that is already on my iPod touch to a new computer.  At present, my iPod touch is not recognised on the new computer.
It doesn't quite work that way. Transfer your music from the old computer to the new one. Then, sync the iPod.

  • Variable Manager can't connect to localhost

    Hi all,
I'm runnin LabView 8.5 and am replacing an old computer. I've installed LabView on my new pc and done all the device drivers, but when I go into variable manager there is a cross next to Local System and when I click new process it gives an error saying it cannot connect to localhost...
I tried restarting the NI services in services.msc as suggested elsewhere on this forum, but no luck...
    Any thoughts?

Is it possible that some firewall is active on the PC which prevents communication on that port?

  • Can't connect to Time Machine after installing Mavericks.

Both green lights on in Airport Utility but can't connect - says check IP address or contact administrator (I am the administrator), have done a hard rest and shut down but still unable to connect. Have shut down the Mac - restarted and still back up failed. Green light on the Time Maching (not flashing), green light on internet, internet via Wifi and working fine - good signal - no interruptions or drop-outs, just can't get the computer to connect to the time machine - even thought it appears to be OK in Aprpirt Utility? I'm stuck.
    Can anyone help me?

I am having a similar problem - when I updated to Mavericks the install seemed to go OK until the last minute, then it literally hung for hours. I decided to re-boot the computer.  From there, it seemed like the Mavericks install was a "clean" install, and it was like setting up a brand new computer.  All of my programs were kept, but it lost all of my files from finder, as well as all my e-mails, etc.  When I tried to backup from Time Machine, none of the buttons seem to work, and I can't get it to work.  Also, before the install my 500 GB Time Machine drive was showing almost full, now it shows about 300 MB full.  I also tried to migrate the files from the Time Machine drive to the iMac, still with no luck.
Good thing I had migrated my iTunes and photos to other external drives, and I was able get those back. Losing 500 MB of photos probably would have given me a heart attack.
    Any suggestions?

  • After updating to 10.8.1 i can not connect to wifi   no hardware installed , it says

When I installed the update to 10.8.1 there comes a message that there was a problem by installing.
Now i can not connect to a wifi network, when i click on the wifi at the bottom
    No hardware is installed
Why is there no hardware installed?
    Under 10.7 all was fine

I have MacBook unibody late 2008 with OS X Mountain Lion on board. Wifi stopped working suddenly and I spent about four terrible hours to solve a problem.
Actually, none of mentioned and googled advices helped me out to solve this issue with 'WiFi: No Hardware installed'.
Except one thing: using the wifi kext from the Snow Leopard. You may use utility and kext from here: http://rys.sommefeldt.com/2011/09/04/osx-lion-wifi.html
    I hope, this can help.

  • Can't Connect Via Ethernet on new MacBook Pro

    Hello,
I'm running into a frustrating problem and hoping someone can help.
I have a new MacBook Pro that won't connect via Ethernet. My old computer (Powerbook G4) with the same settings works flawlessly.
Details: under Network Settings I have Automatic/Using DHCP. When I click on Assist Me>Diagnostics, I get green lights all the way down (Built-In Ethernet, Network Settings, ISP, Internet, Server). The Diagnostics tool therefore proudly announces that my Internet connection is working correctly.
When I open Safari, however, it won't open any page. Using Ping I also get no responses.
When I plug the exact same ethernet cable into my Powerbook G4, everything works flawlessly. The only difference is that the IP address ends in .25 instead of .30 (I assume that's from the router assigning different IP addresses to the two computers.)
On another forum i read about someone having a problem with a long/lossy ethernet cable, but I just took my computer to the router and tried with a 2-foot ethernet cable. Same situation.
    Help!
    Thanks

i rebooted the firewall and it worked.

  • [Help] Can't Connect to LocalHost

Hi, I am in need of some help here, and would be really grateful if you can help to solve my problem.
I changed some of my settings on System Preferences > Networking, changed the DHCP to manual and inserting my own values, and inserted my own DNS Servers.
I changed them back to exactly what it looked like before after a while, and rebooted my Mac, restarted my wireless modem, and reconnected to my network.

Now, I cannot access localhost/127.0.0.1 on my Safari, it was working before I edited the settings. I am getting +"Safari can’t open the page “http://localhost/” because Safari can’t connect to the server “localhost”."
I hope that anyone to be kind and help to solve my problem although there are no returns, you would have done a good deed. Thank you.

Best thing to edit those files is [TextWrangler|http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler>. It will allow you to open files in hidden locations and to authenticate the changes. From TextWrangler's Open Hidden… command, follow the path to the httpd.conf file. Another way to get to the file is use the Finder>Go>Go to Folder command and type /etc/apache2/.
You can turn on line numbers in TextWrangler using the dropdown in the toolbar that looks like a letter T with a light switch.
Scroll down to line 167 and make sure it looks like thisDocumentRoot "/Library/WebServer/Documents"And, make sure that directory exists.

  • Can't sync from server on new install

so i probably should have read more into this firefox sync thing....instead of trying to save a bookmark file anywhere when migrating to a fresh new install of linux, i just figured i would set up this sync account (had never used it before today), let it upload to the mozilla servers, and assume i could just load it all back up on my new install.
well here i am, now realizing that i needed a recovery key before i deleted my old install/partition.
when i try to to get a recovery key after entering my login info, it says that any previous data on the server will be erased if i am to get a new recovery key...am i hooped for trying to get all my bookmarks & logins/passwords that i thought i had securely added to the mozilla server earlier today?

The Recovery Key is used to encrypt your data as it is uploaded to the Sync server, and to decrypt your data as it is downloaded onto your devices. Without that "key" your data is useless.
The new version of Sync which is being developed for Firefox 29 does away with the Recovery Key.

  • Acrobat 11 can't find internet to validate new install. All other apps in my Win 8.1 x64 pc work perfectly. Where is the trouble?

The trouble started with Acrobat 8 Pro. It indicated needing an e-license extension and would not connect to the internet. So I uninstalled and purchased Acrobat 11. Now it also will not find the Internet to validate the install. Why?
In the process of this question I called Adobe Support and they instructed me to look into the Windows\system 32\drivers\etc folder. There is a file called 'hosts' that holds the key to the error. You must change the attributes of this file from Read Only and uncheck that box, close the file attributes dialog. Now you can open the file with Notepad and you should see a string of numbers followed with a comment about Adobe.com. After each number string and before the words that follow ADD the # symbol followed by a space. Save the file. It should overwrite the original. You might want to open the file once again just to be sure that the changes you made are in place. Now you can start Acrobat and the licensing/activation process will continue as it should. I have to guess that this whole problem stems from the Windows upgrade from 8 to 8.1. I've had many issues with other programs giving me mixed to frustrating results. I've found a work around for all of them so far but what a pain Microsoft is this time.
The Adobe Support people were superb in their help. Very patient and able to direct me to the fix. It helps that I have a bit of computer knowledge so I was able to discover the attribute problem when I could not initially write a new file after my changes.
Once again Adobe proves to be mighty in their product support.

honestly on a Windows I do not know how, there are programs that you can download that will tell you, and there are unix scripts that can tell you. to find out how, you might want to talk to somebody who owns a windows and is proficient in using it.

Have to checked to make sure you can connect to the servers IP (ping) and also if there is no firewall blocking the ports?
