Can't deploy to Oracle 8i

I was trying to deploy an ApplicationModule (remoteable) as EJB to JServer using JDeveloper's wizards. During deployment I receive the following error message :
Generating EJBHome and EJBObject on the server...done
Publishing EJBHome...::: org.omg.CORBA.NO_PERMISSION
::: org.omg.CORBA.NO_PERMISSION
Cannot create directory: No permission
Unfortunately I don't know how to solve this problem. Can anybody tell me how to gain permission or where to find more informantion about deploying ApplicationModules as EJB to JServer ?
PS: I work with JDeveloper 3.1 and Oracle 8i ver 8.1.6

I found the solution by reading the JServer FAQs. There are two possible sources that release an CORBA.NO_PERMISSION error :
(1)If you get an "org.omg.CORBA.NO_PERMISSION" while deploying an EJB, it means that you are trying to publish an EJB to a part of the namespace you do not have access to.
Typically, people will use the /test area of the namespace while developing code. If you are using somewhere else, make sure that the permissions are set correctly. For further information on this, see pages 6-17 to 6-19 in the EJB/CORBA guide.
(2) You are crashing out of the install program with an memory access violation.
The second source is what cause my problems. And all I had to do was to reboot and try it again.

    I don't believe that Forms will be certified on WLS until 11g based on a ppt I saw at Oracle Open World. However, you'll need to get confirmation on that from someone with Forms knowledge. Their forum is here:

  • Can I deploy ADF outside IAS & Oracle RDBMS ?

    Hi all,
    We are exploring JDev 10g to be our standard J2EE IDE.
    But I am wondering whether ADF can be deployed outside IAS (e.g : Tomcat, JBoss) ? for production ?
    Also what If ADF on SQL Server 2000 as backends ?
    We need to make sure about this because we are not dedicated to Oracle RDBMS and IAS. We just look for an best J2EE IDE to speed up development.
    Thank you for any help,
    Krist

    Yes both are possible.
    In the JDeveloper tools menu the ADF Runtime installer has options to be installed on JBoss and Tomcat and Weblogic with a single click.
    We also know of people using other application servers.
    ADF is also database independent - for example in the how-to section of JDeveloper on OTN you'll find instructions for using ADF BC with MySQL.
    Toplink (another ADF persistence option) can also work with multiple databases.

  • Livecycle can it be deployed in Oracle iPlanet Web Server

    Hi,
    Can we deploy livecycle in Oracle iPlanet Web Server ?
    looking for an early reply
    thanks

    As long as the application server that LCDS is deployed in is supported, it doesn't  matter which webserver is being used.

  • Can you deploy Oracle Business Rules to the other App servers

    Can you deploy Oracle Business Rules to the other App servers such as Websphere and Jboss

    Yes. Please see the Appendix C in the documentation at:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/web.1013/b28965.pdf
    For WebSphere, updated instructions will be released soon that allow all RuleAuthor features to be used.

  • Urgent,Can i deploy Forms6i application on Oracle 9i AS R2 ?

    I installed Oracle9i infrastrucure Release 2, Bussiness Intelligance and Forms in another home on the same machine.
    Can i deploy my appliction made by forms 6i using this release or i must migrate it to Forms9i DS firstly ?

    Yasser,
    We had to recompile our 6i forms with 9ids to have them work under 9ias rel2. That was all that was required (assuming your forms and reports directory structure remains the same - if not, you will have to change path statements in your forms before the recompile).

  • How can I access the oracle/sql server jdbc driver class files from my cust

    I have a war file in which I have custom DataSource i.e mypackage.Datasource class. Its basically the need of my application. In this class we connect to datasource and link some of our programming artifacts .
    I have deployed the oracle jdbc driver and deploy my application as ear with datasources.xml in the meta inf file. Inspite of that my code fails to load the jdbc driver classes.
    Here is the extract of the code :
            Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver").newInstance();
             String url = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@dataserver:1521:orcl";
            Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url, "weblims3", "labware");
            if(conn != null){
              out.println("the connection to the database have been achieved");
            out.println("conn object achived= " + conn);
    Class.forname fails in this case. I can see the ojdbc5.jar the driver jar in usr\sap\CE1\J00\j2ee\cluster\bin\ext\ojdbc5  . I even put the ojdbc.jar in web-inf/lib and application lib but does not help at all. Hope I have explained my problem clearly.
    I deployed the jdbc driver in the name of ojdbc5 .
    I am stuck here. It will be great help if anyone can help me in this. Thanks in advance.

    Bent,
    You can access the database from your Java portlet, just like from any other Java/JSP environment. Yes, you can use JDBC, as well as BC4J.
    The Discussion Forum portlet was built using BC4J, take a look at it's source to see how it was done.
    Also, check out Re: BC4J Java portlet anyone?, it contains a lot of useful information too.

    I had tried using -Xms / -Xmx options (upto 1 GB).
    The trace of exception gets delayed (from being displayed on the console) as the memory size is increased; but after sometime it starts getting displayed on the console.
    Even though this exception is displayed on the console, the Timer Bean continues to execute upto sometime before it finally crashes!
    If anyone has encountered such problem; would appreciate if you could share the solution.
    Regards, Vidyadhar

    Hi guys, I have the same problem. I have an application EAR file with two modules (EJB and WAR starting in this order). The application can schedule a process via EJB timer. In this case restarting the server I receive the error above. If I change the modules start order --> WAR - EJB the server start correctly, but the application scheduler fails (the persistency is not working) with this error:

  • Can not deploy a report using JDBC connection on CR2008 Server

    Hi Group,
    I have a report created with JDBC connection. When I tried to add it to CR2008 server, it gives an error - "An unexpected error has occurred ". Basically I want to add a report to a public folder via CMC. I am using adminstrator account.
    Then I thought I need to add JDBC driver into CR2008 server. so I put oracle jdbc jar into CR2008 server classpath and add JDBC connection info into CRConfig.xml. but I still got the same error.
    I also tried:
    - Change the report to use native Oracle driver rather than JDBC. The deployment succeeded (but this is not what I want)
    - Add a data source connection via Business View Manager, but no luck.
    I know how to use/change jdbc connection with programtic way, but I just want to know if I want to use built-in components in CR2008 server without any coding the reports can be deployed and managed.
    Thanks in advance.
    Dennis

    Hello Will,
    Crystal Reports supports connections to JDBC/JNDI out of the box, and have done so for a while, whether stand-alone or published to Enterprise.
    To specify where the server would search for the JDBC driver jar files, you'd change the classpath tag found in the CRConfig.xml file found on the machine where the Crystal Reports Page or Job Server is running.
    For early Crystal Enterprise 10 and before, it used Java Native Interface (JNI) to start the Java process to retrieve the data from the JDBC connection.
    For later Crystal Enterprise 10 and later, it starts off a "Java Server" process, and communicates to the Crystal Reports process via CORBA TCP/IP connection.
    Commonissues that may arise:  (1) CRConfig.xml not configured properly, (2) unable to start or communicate to the "Java Server" because of permissions or firewall.
    Note that this is a separate connectivity map from using ADO or ADO.NET.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • Develop in JDev 10.1.3.5, test and deploy to Oracle Weblogic 11g

    Hi,
    I have run into some important issues when trying to migrate my Jdev 10.1.3.5 applications to JDev 11g for deployment to the latest Oracle Weblogic Application server version, see threads:
    Thread: migration problems ADF/ Struts 10.1.3 -> 11.1.1.3
    migration problems ADF/ Struts 10.1.3 -> 11.1.1.3
    Thread: ADF/Swing/JClient application migration problem from 10.1.3.5 to 11.1.1.3
    Re: ADF/Swing/JClient application migration problem from 10.1.3.5 to 11.1.1.3
    - so using JDev 10.1.3.5 with deployment to Oracle Weblogic 11g is a must for us.
    Questions:
    1) Is there a way to use Oracle WEBLOGIC 10.3 for debugging inside JDev 10.1.3.5?
    2) Can I develop with JDev 10.1.3.5 + JDK 1.5 and create an ear to deploy to Oracle WEBLOGIC 10.3 Application server with JDK 1.6 64bits?
    3) Which version of ADF should I install on Oracle WEBLOGIC 10.3 to run my 10.1.3.5 application?
    Your help will be appreciated

    Is there a way to use Oracle WEBLOGIC 10.3 for debugging inside JDev 10.1.3.5?While you can't replace the embedded OC4J - you can use an external WLS server and do remote debugging on it. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/remotedebugwls-086628.html
    From inside JDeveloper you can also deploy directly to the WLS server.
    Can I develop with JDev 10.1.3.5 + JDK 1.5 and create an ear to deploy to Oracle WEBLOGIC 10.3 Application server with JDK 1.6 64bits?Yes you can. Note that so far we haven't officially certified ADF 10.1.3 on WLS 10.3 - but from various customers and testings we think it works ok. We might certify this combination in the future.
    Follow these steps to get the deployment working:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/deployingwls-091640.html
    Which version of ADF should I install on Oracle WEBLOGIC 10.3 to run my 10.1.3.5 application?You always install the version of ADF that matches the one your application was developed and compiled with.

  • Sort order in Java Application (deploy in Oracle oc4j container)

    I have a Java application deploy in Oracle OC4J container (EAR file).
    In my Java application (jsp), I have a SQL statement who return data but the
    sort order is wrong. The letters "é" and all characters with accents
    appears at the end of the result.
    I tried many things to change the sort order (NLS parameters in database
    and OAS10g parameter files).
    When I use SQL*plus on database server, that's working.
    The sort order is wrong when I use the java application.
    Somebody can tell me what and where is the NLS parameters to change ?
    Thanks
    Robin

    Robin,
    I'm only guessing, but it could either be related to the java locale or the CHARSET attribute of the HTML header -- and nothing to do with the NLS parameters.
    Maybe you should try the Globalization Support forum?
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • Mapping of CAN and CVE to Oracle CPU

    There is a page on OTN that maps public security vulnerability findings (CANs and CVEs) to Oracle CPUs. The page states that it includes all CPUs up to January 2008. However, it appears the table has not been updated since January 2007.
    Here is a link to the page:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/deploy/security/critical-patch-updates/public_vuln_to_advisory_mapping.html

    There have been no vulnerability fixes released against open source products via Critical Patch Updates for over one year. The table is up to date. There have been many Critical Patch Update fixes for proprietary software, of course, but we do not reference CVE entries in this or any other documentation for proprietary software vulnerabilities.
