Can't get rid of "Inconsistencies in your sync information ...."

This pop-up message keeps appearing every few minutes on my MBP ... no matter how often I Sync. I use to get it a few times a day with my 3G, but now that I have a 3GS, I'm getting it every few minutes ... since also buying and setting up MobileMe.
This is really irritating ?!
How do I take care of this situation?

No, as I said, it's gone from a few times a day with my 3G and no MobileME to every few minutes with the 3GS and MobileMe. It's gotten worse since setting up MobileMe, ie. it was there with the 3GS and got worse when I started up MobileMe. I've gone through all of the settings ... I think ... but it's still happening even though one would think it would go away after syncing

  • "Inconsistencies in your sync information for Contacts..."  HELP!

    Hello helpful smart people!
I can't sync Contacts on my iMac in my kitchen with my office MacPro. I am running OS 10.4.11 on both computers. I keep getting this message: "Inconsistencies in your sync information for Contacts were detected and have been repaired". But Contacts are still not being synced on my kitchen iMac. I have checked my .Mac account and see all the correct info in the Contacts folder - which matches my office MacPro. I have both Unregistered, and Reset Sync Data on the Kitchen iMac and asked that all Sync Info be replaced on the Kitchen iMac with Sync info from .Mac. Can anyone figure this out? Thanks very much for any help you can lend. -Scott

This is the iSync forum. iSync is for syncing to non-Apple mobile phones only, not to other Macs.

  • "inconsistencies in your sync information"

I keep getting this message: "inconsistencies in your sync information..." prevent syncing with iCal. How do I resolve it?

There isn't any software to change as such. It only shows "MobileMe" instead of ".Mac" of you're running Mac OS X 10.5.x
However, if you're not actually using iSync to sync a third-party (non-Apple) mobile phone (that's all iSync does - it doesn't sync between Macs, with MobileMe or to the iPod touch) then you're more likely to find an answer to your query in one of the following forums:
MobileMe on iPhone and iPod Touch > MobileMe Sync
MobileMe on my Mac > MobileMe Sync

i got a website synced and iphone + macbook pro also synced

You appear to be referring to *MobileMe Sync* and not iSync (which is only for syncing to non-Apple mobile phones).

  • Can't get rid of alert when I sync

I just don’t get it. When I sync an iPhoto folder to the iPhone I get the follow alert: Some of your photos, including the photo “PICT0018.JPG”, were not copied to the iPhone “Fname Lname’s iPhone” because they cannot de displayed on your iPhone.
I searched iPhoto for all picts numbered 0018 and I’m not syncing any of them. I went to my iPhone ‘set up’ in iTunes and removed all the photos, removed the iPhoto folder where I had 4 pictures that I was syncing, made a new folder with one picture to sync, applied the sync and got the same alert on my iPhone.
I would like to remove the alert – which appears to be doing something with iPhoto that I can’t figure out. I searched through the discussions and see that one fix might be resetting the iPhone – any other solutions?

Same problem here. Some photos get uploaded, but they look weird -- stripes of color, some parts not getting rendered at all...
It seems that something is getting messed up in the optimization step.
I'm guessing this is probably a problem with the newest version of iTunes.
Note that I also get the same problem when copying pictures to the iPhone that were created on iPhone. They should work fine, since they are in apple format anyway.
I've also tried doing a folder sync and an Adobe PS Album sync. Same problem with both, but different photos get copied/messed up.
Note: I'm running iTunes under Vista Home Premium 32 bit.

    Hi arnienelly,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.   I gather that you are getting the HP Rewards pop-up on your computer.
Did you follow the instructions that Ciara_B gave in her post directly above yours?  If so, what was the result?
    Thank you.

  • My friend's apple ID shows up when I want to update my Apps. How can I get rid of it and see my own instead?

On my iPhone I see my friend's Apple ID when I want to update my Apps and can't seem to login with my own. What's wrong? How can I get rid off my friend's ID and login with my own when I want to update or download apps? I went to Itunes Store in Setting and checked if my ID was still there, and it is so I have no idea what's wrong.

Just used her MacBook to unlock my iPhone as I was away from home. So she backuped my phone and restored it to allow the unlock to work. That's all.
I'm still not clear about what you mean about unlocking your phone. Normally, "unlocking" means entering the password if the phone is locked, which you should be able to do from the phone itself. If you want more help with this, you really need to take the time to furnish all the relevant details.
I have a MacBook Pro, and yes when I connect my iPhone on it it shows up in the devices list.
When you do that & click on the iPhone in the list, then click on the "Apps" tab at the top, do you see the apps you can't update listed there? If you click on the "Store" menu item does it show near the bottom that you are logged in with your own Apple ID?
As wjosten said, it sounds like one way or another, the apps you cannot update were obtained using your friend's Apple ID. You need to delete them from your phone & try buying them again. If they were in fact paid for with your own Apple ID you won't have to pay again; otherwise you will.

    Hi Sister Kate,
If you change the Apple ID you are using on an iPhone or other iOS device, there are several places you need to change it on the device. See this article -

  • In Mail, one mailbox for Recovered Message (AOL) keeps showing 1 very large message that I cannot delete. How can I get rid of this recurring problem, please?

In Mail on iMac, successfully running OS X Lion, one mailbox on My Mac for "Recovered Messages (from AOL)" keeps showing 1 very large message (more than 20 Mb) that I just cannot seem to delete. Each time I go into my In Box, the "loading" symbol spins and the message appears in the "Recovered Messages" mailbox. How can I get rid of this recurrent file, please?
At the same time, I'm not receviving any new mails in my In Box, although, if I look at the same account on my MacBook Pro, I can indeed see the incoming mails (but on that machine I do not have the "recovery" problem).
The help of a clear-thinking Apple fan would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks.

    I worked it out.
Unhide your hidden files ( I used a widget from http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/developer/hiddenfiles.html)
    Go to your HD.
    Go to Users.
    Go to your House (home)
there should be a hidden Library folder there (it will be transparent)
Go to Mail in this folder
The next folder ( for me ) is V2
Click on that and the next one will be a whole list of your mail servers, and one folder called Mailboxes
Click on that and there should be a folder called recovered messages (server) . mbox
Click on that there a random numbered/lettered folder -> data
In that data folder is a list of random numbered folders (i.e a folder called 2, one called 9 etc) and in EACH of these, another numbered folder, and then a folder called messages.
In the messages folder delete all of the ebmx (I think that's what they were from memory, sorry I forgot as I already deleted my trash after my golden moment).
This was GOLDEN for me. Reason being, when I went to delete my "recovered file" in mail, it would give me an error message " cannot delete 2500 files". I knew it was only 1 file so this was weird. Why 2500 files? Because if you click on the ebmx files like I did, hey presto, it turned out that they were ALL THE SAME MESSAGE = 2500 times. In each of those folders in the random numbers, in their related message folder.
Now remember - DONT delete the folder, make sure you have gone to the message folder, found all those pesky ebmx files and deleted THOSE, not the folder.
It worked for me. No restarting or anything. And recovered file. GONE.
Started receiving and syncing mail again. Woohoo.
    Best wishes.

  • I recently downloaded new Firefox; an option was a new top of the page skin. I don't like ; can't get rid of it. what to do?

After downloading newest firefox an option showed up: do you want one on these new skins to top your opening page? I opted for one of them and now can't get rid of it. I prefer the old . What's there now looks like a background for several toolbars. Contrast is bad.

You can set Firefox back to using the default theme. Open the add-ons manager (in the tools menu select Add-ons), in the add-ons manager go to the Themes panel. Click on the Default theme in the list of themes then click on the "Use Theme" button.
For more details see using themes with Firefox.

  • I synched my iphone4 on my wife's imac to down load pics but got 700 unwanted contacts.  How can I get rid of them without doing one at a time?

I synched my iphone4 with my wife's imac with the hope of  uploading pictures from my phone.  Instead I now have 700 plus contacts on my phone I do not want. How can I get rid of them except one ata time?

iTunes does not handle the import of photos/videos from the iPhone's Camera Roll.
If this is not the computer you sync your iPhone with, you should have been provided a warning message that your iPhone is associated with an iTunes library on another computer and when trying to transfer any iTunes content from a different computer, a warning message is provided indicating that all iTunes content on the iPhone will be erased first.
When connecting an iPhone to iTunes on another computer, none of the options under the various tabs for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes are selected automatically. This means you had to select Sync Contacts under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes on your wife's computer.
Assuming you are syncing contacts with a supported address book app on your computer, connect your iPhone to Tunes on your computer and without syncing, under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences below the Advanced section, select Contacts for replace info on this iPhone followed by a sync.
For importing photos/videos from the Camera Roll which can be done with a computer that is not used for syncing the iPhone since syncing with iTunes is not involved.

I clicked on iMessage on my Macbook Pro today for the first time, and now NOTES keeps opening up every 5 seconds, with a new note.  I cannot stop it from opening. If I close it or force close, it opens again in 5 seconds.  I can't get rid of it.  I have tried to clear out the iMessage settings I had put in, and I've tried to adjust the Accounts to not include notes to synch.  But, Notes will not stop.  It opens a new note, and even if you ignore it, it assumes preference every 5 seconds, and the Mac is impossible to use.

Do you have any Boot Camp or other secondary partitions set up on your system? If so then try running a disk verification routine (chkdsk, etc.) in Windows to repair the disk. While I've not heard of it happening recently, in the past errors in these partitions have resulted in stubborn ghost files appearing in OS X.
