Can't launch sample with adl in linux

Hi,
I just downloaded the Open Source Flex 4SDK on Ununtu Linux, and I installed the latest AIR 2.0 runtime.
If I try to launch the included example ("sample") with the adl debug launcher, I get the following error:
teo@XXX:/media/DATA/programmi/FLEX/samples$ ../bin/adl.exe descriptor-sample.xml
initial content not found
What am I mising?
By the way I was surprised that the binary for linux seems to be the same as for windows i.e. adl.exe. The other binary, the one without ".exe" doesn't even execute...

Yes it seems it is the mac version:
adl: Mach-O executable i386
I downloaded the only available download from Adobe, which says "Open Source Flex SDK - ALL PLATFORMS" and indeed there are only two version of the each binary, one .exe and one without extension. So I assumed that in some strange way the same version worked for Mac OS and Linux
Now I see why most of the other executables do run, it's because they are shell scripts. Cat'ing their contents I see they have if clauses which check for the operating system, and they DO have cases for Linux.
So I don't understand:
If this is a unique download for all platforms, and "all platforms" seems to include linux, why isn't there an adl executable or script for linux?
If this is not the right download, where do I find the SDK for linux, and why is this called "all platforms"?

Can I do a sampling with a rate of 96000hertz using a sound card?

I have a question about sound card.I supposed to collect signal using a sound card which says supporting a sampling rate of 96000 hertz.But VIs about sound card in Labview can only do sampling with a maximum rate of 44100 hertz.I try to modify the VI,however,it says there are some wrong choiced numerics.
What I want to ask is how can I change the software to adapt to my target.Is that possible?If it is,can someone give me an example?

The native LabVIEW sound VIs are limited to the sample rates in the enums. If you want a different sample rate (or more control, or a different format...), you will need to make API calls using the call library node or ActiveX. A search of this forum should point you in the right direction.

Azure Batch - Can I launch a linux VM?

Hi there,
Is there any way to use Azure Batch to launch Linux VMs? I have some scientific software that I would like to use Azure Batch to help parallelize. But as most scientific software goes, it will only runs on a *nix OS.
Since Linux compute VMs can be launched in Azure (http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/virtual-machines/#Linux) itseems like Azure Batch should be able to manage that. But I don't see any examples of how.
I'm only looking to have the Batch worker nodes run linux. I'm ok running the master (which will be executing the .NET management code for the CloudPool) on a Windows OS.

Ok, thanks for the response. I look forward to being able to launch linux instances (whenever it is done). I'll have so many uses for it!

Repeated and lost samples with NI-CAN

I am using LabVIEW 2009 SP1 with NI-CAN 2.7 and a series 2 CAN card on a PXI system running LabVIEW RT.
I sync'ed my DAQmx AI measurement with a NI-CAN task using the "CAN Sync Start with DAQmx". The Start is now sync'ed.
As for the samples, I created a test environment: A microcontroller sends a signal via CAN. The signal contains a value that is incremented by 1 with each new CAN message. My PXI measurement programm samples these CAN signal values alongside with DAQmx (5 KHz sample rate, reading 1000 CAN and DAQmx AI values in a while loop). The plot below shows, that sometimes the current value is not sampled, instead the last value is resampled up to 16 times, i. e. the value does stay the same as the last value where it should increment. I made sure, that the source of this effect is not the microcontroller using a third party CAN logging tool.

I ran a new measurement for approx. 2 minutes and got 2 independent measurement data files:
the attached VI from above was slightly changed, so that the check loop now saves all received CAN data to a file
I started Vector CANalyzer on a separate Laptop that is also connected to the CAN wire, but only listening and logging in passive mode (i. e. no ACK is send so that there is no interference with the ongoing communication between PXI and the sending microcontroller)
I attached both measurement files in CSV format. You will see, that the timestamp dt from CANalyzer does not show any message holes. As for the PXI, I see ~5x repeating values.
Note: The CANalyzer timestamps are given in 10 us units. The PXI data just contains the incremented signal without timestamps.

Can't launch an URL with a .pdf extension fron 7.0.1 as i could in earlier version 3.5.x?

The website target is dropbox.com. One can access a saved pdf file
directly using the format:
dropbox.com/u/1536975/Schedule_2011.pdf
where the all numeric is a filename. This worked from version
3.6.3 but not in 7.0.1 . When l try to launch the URL, FF momen-
tariley starts to process it then stops. There is no further action on it by FF and it continues to run normally.

Thanks for this mha007 - I can now open FF with a new profile. Can I copy my settings from the old profile or will this bring over the same problem, maybe a corrupt file. If it would bring the same problem, is there any way I can check which file is corrupt, apart from taking them over one by one?

Do you have any version of Premiere Elements 13 or only Photoshop Elements 13 which comes with Elements Organizer 13?
Let us look at the following for Elements Organizer 13....
1. Deletion of disabling the Elements Organizer 13 setting file which is named psa.prf. In Windows 7, 8, o 8.1 64 bit, it is found in the
path

AppData
Roaming
Adobe
Elements Organizer
13.0
Organizer
and in the Organizer Folder is the psa.prf file that you delete or disable by renaming it from psa.prf to psa.prfOLD.
2. If the above gains you successful entry into the Elements Organizer 13, then you can
a. create a new catalog
and/or
b. repair or optimize the current one
See Elements Organizer 13/File Menu/Manage Catalogs/Catalog Manager.
3. There are times that certain formats will bring the Elements Organizer down when you try to import those formats into
it. But, from what you wrote, your current problems do not sound media related.
3. At your earliest opportunity, please update Elements Organizer 13 to 13.1 using its Help Menu/Updates.

Can't launch Mixer, Speaker Settings, etc with Audigy 2

I wanted to use headphones with my card, but found that I had no sound at all. Checking the speaker settings, I discovered that the dropdown wasn't populated. (I discovered a thread on Tom's Hardware forum mentioning this problem, but no-one seems to have a fix.)
I tried?resetting to defaults, but got an error message saying that not all settings could be restored. I also tried the "Repair" option in Add/Remove Programs without success.
I tried doing a complete removal (using the KB instructions)?and re-installation. Apart from getting an error message about PlxCore.plx missing (which I fixed by copying the file manually), the re-installation completed.
However, I find that I can't launch many of the utilities, such as the mixer, EAX console, speaker settings. If I right-click on the volume control icon, nothing happens.
There is a grey square at the top of my desktop that looks like it might be a partially-rendered toolbar.
I also can't see an uninstall option in Add/Remove Programs for MediaSource. None of the MediaSource programs will launch either, but I can't uninstall them.
I do have sound, but I have to use the windows volume control.
I don't know what else to do. I have been through the re-installation procedure half-a-dozen times.

I used the utility, but it didn''t help. (It also seems to have messed up my FireFox installation, for some reason).
After booting into safe mode and running the utility, I tried installing again (and got the plxCore.plx error again). Results were even worse than before - I still don't have a working installation, and now I can't even uninstall the drivers - I get an error saying "an event was unable to invoke any of the subscribers."

You are certainly welcome to try. We have not tested this environment in anyway and you may face difficulties with Adobe Creative applications that require heavy use of the CPU. I also would be surprised if Acrobat could be installed in this environment due to it's dependencies to system resources.

Anybody can suggest quick sample 'Hello World' with ADF/JSF to deploy on WC

We are using JDeveloper 11g, and Web Center 10.1.3.2.
We have Oracle Portals 10.1.2.0.2
We want to develop a portlet and deploy it to WC 10.1.3.2 to use it in Portals 10.1.2.0.2.
Could anybody suggest any working "Hello World' sample with ADF/JSF to deploy on WC 10.1.3.2 WSRP.

Just to clarify. Oracle Portal 10.12.0.2 did not support WSRP based portlets (this was introduced in 10.1.4 or Portal) as such you would need to develop a JPDK based portlet in order to use it in both Portal 10.1.2.0.2 and WebCenter. If you upgrade the portal to 10.1.4 you will be able to use a WSRP 1.0 based portlet in both products (WebCenter also supports the draft WSRP2.0 extensions so make sure that you register the correct WSDL file)
If you are trying to use JSF components within the Portlet itself you will need to use the JSF Portlet Bridge which accounts for the differences in lifecycle between JSF and WSRP.

Can't launch a song i made !!

i work on logic pro 7.0.1 with a powerpc mac dual proc 2ghz and 2.5 go memory osx 10.3.9
my problem is that i can't launch a song i made.
logic load a part of samples and stay blocked whereas normaly logic ask me to find samples i moved...
i don't have any ohter problem with others song and i use same plugs in my several sessions.
the song worked good until yesterday and i didn't change anything...
could someone please help me, it's important cause i'ts a track of my album that i have to finish for end of september!!

Open a new song - deactivate the Audio core in the driver section of your preferences - open the broken session - all the plugs will be crossed out - bybass the plugin you suspect to be ****** - activate the Core and see if it works

Compile sample procobol program on linux 64 bit

If this is the wrong forum I apoligise but i can't see another one for precompilers.
I am trying to compile and run a procobol sample program on a linux 64 bit machine.
When I try to compile with the demo makefile I get
ld: skipping incompatible /home/oracle/10G/lib//libclntsh.so when searching for -lclntsh
So i have added LIBDIR=lib32 to my make command
make LIBDIR=lib32 -f demo_procob.mk sample1
And it now compiles but when I run it I get
Execution error : file 'sample1'
error code: 114, pc=0, call=1, seg=0
114 Attempt to access item beyond bounds of memory (Signal 11)
This happens when it is trying to connect.
Would be gratefull for any help on what I suspect is a 32/64 bit issue.

The 114 error is like a S0C4, out-of-bounds RAM memory address.
The "make" for Pro*Cobol is tricky . . .

Ok, i am confused! I have read lots of info over this subject, but at some sites and forums i read that some people did not succeed in capturing ( and displaying) a live video stream with Java under Linux.
