Can't print at all - HP Desktop 3520

I've had problems with this printer since I got it (not that long ago but probably out of warranty) and it has now crashed on me totally at a time I need it the most.
Moved house and now my printer won't even show up on my computer or iPhone wifi network list (it did initially and worked for a while, but then decided not to cooperate, print jobs just stayed in an endless queue of unprinted documents and then disappeared from the list altogether anyway). I've turned printer wireless on and off, turned my printer and computer on and off, and tried all the other usual things that work after an unnecessarily long and drawn out amount of effort, but it still won't show up in the list of networks.
I don't have the USB cable for some reason (don't remember it even being in the box when I got it), so I'm pretty well at the end of my efforts to make it work.
None of the Google searches I have tried have helped one iota.
Any ideas, community of printer experts?

When you say hit and miss do you mean sometimes you print a whole document with no problems, or do you mean each document has problems? This is from HP's website for your printer:
Your sig says 10.6.7 but your message says 10.7. So if it's really Lion, this printer isn't officially supported. Elsewhere on HP's site it says updated drivers will be available on your Mac via Software Update. Have you run that recently?

  • Help!!! Can't Print at all

I have Mac desktop and a Canon printer wired to it. I have a compaq pc laptop that connects wirelessly to the router connected to the Mac. I installed Bonjour which instantly recognized my Canon printer. I have printed effortless for months. All of a sudden a week ago, I selected docs to print from my pc laptop. Now, I can't print.
There are 3 docs that show up in the print queue on both the pc and mac. I try to delete them from the print queue on my pc and it says Access Denied. Huh??? I am the only one who uses these computers. I tried to delete the docs from the Mac print queue and it says "unexpected error." I have deleted the printer from the pc and reinstalled it using Bonjour. The docs are still there. I have turned off both computers and the printer. THE DOCS ARE STILL THERE. What the heck is going on? Why can't I delete these docs or, better yet, why aren't they printing??? Please somebody help me. I'm going to throw these wonderful pieces of technology out my second story window.

Ok -- a little searching turned up the following -- it seems when you add a printer on the Windows side via Bonjour you need to select "generic postscript" as the print driver. In other words, don't select the driver for the target printer. I've done this for two printers, Canon Pixma iP4000 and Epson Stylus R200. Here are two links ...

  • How can I print out all notes?

I have over 200 notes and I would like to print out a copy to keep as a reference. Is it possible to somehow print out all of the notes at once without having to open up each one individually and print them out.

It's not a file, so you can't "open" one file. Every message (and note) is a single file on the computer.
This Applescript will grab all the notes in the selected mailbox (i.e. the selected Notes item in Mail) and put them in a textEdit document.
Note that Mail doesn't differentiate between a note and an email message, so if you run this while a normal email mailbox is selected, it will gather all of your email messages.
    tell application "Mail"
set theMailboxes to the selected mailboxes of message viewer 0
    repeat with aMailbox in theMailboxes
set theNotes to the messages of aMailbox
    set theText to ""
    repeat with aNote in theNotes
set theText to theText & content of aNote & return
    end repeat
    end repeat
    end tell
    tell application "TextEdit"
    set myDocument to make new document at end of documents with properties {text:theText}
    end tell
Copy and paste this into a new AppleScript Editor Document, select the Notes mailboxes you want to print the notes from, and click the Run button (Green button with arrow).
    This may take a while.

  • How can I print out all notes or export the entire file?

I have around 300 notes that include a variety of information. I would like to print out a hard copy. I don't want to open and print out each one individually. Is there a way to print out all of them at once. Also, is there a way export the file so I can open it in another application like Excel or Word?

  • Getting unknown error when printing with latest version(using HP Laserjet 1200). I can't print at all using this version. Able to print previously.

I ceased to be able to print when the latest version of FireFox was
downloaded. I can print from the same websites using I. E.
My printer is a HP Laserjet 1200 series. I only get the error(an unknown error occurred while printing) when trying to print through FireFox. I can print email fine and any other instance as long as I'm not going through FireFox.

    Hello Josh,
We are using a couple of EFI (Fiery) controllers with our Canon copiers and I have been told by Canon support that we need to be using the MacTel (Universal Binary) versions of drivers for Leopard. Luckily for us we have mostly new models of RIPs and the UB drivers exist for these models, but I know that they are not available for all models, which I believe includes your X3e.
To determine if you have a driver or RIP issue, you could save the file as either PS or PDF and then use the EFI utilities, such as Command Workstation, to import the file to the RIP (select Process and Hold) and then see if you can print your multiple copies that way. If that works then you know that the RIP is probably okay.
The next test would be to create a generic PS queue to the X3e and print using this queue. If this works then you can narrow your issue down to the driver.

  • I can't print on all printer in my network, no programme does print!

I have problems to print on my other Power Mac G4 with Panther 10.3.9 on all programms. In every programme comes the failure "Failed to print". But if a make a Postscript file with de PPD of the printer i can drag it on de printer utility and then on the printer symbol an it does print it. But when i want to print directly from the application i can't get it out. What can it be? I've made an Archiv installed and then it works for 2 days an today morning it begins to fail again. So please your Apple freaks all over the world help me because we've had to produce some stuff for tomorrow morning!

There are no toshiba printers supported in airprint at this time, sorry

  • I have a hp officejet pro 8500a plus. can i print in all black when the other ink colors are out?

i'd like to find out if there is a way i can still in black if i have one color cartridge empty

This model has separate ink supplies and printheads.  Ink is required in all the colors to keep the printheads and plumbing from clogging.  See this page for information on how ink is used.

  • Can't print anymore!

I recently upgraded to Leopard and was printing fine until about a week later. Now I can not print at all. The print queue icon bounces for a while then stops. It doesn't respond so I force quit and a message says the printerproxy stopped responding or something like that.
This happens while printing to my Canon inkjet and Adobe pdf. Also if I go to print settings and click Open Print Queue, the same things happens with the queue locking up.
I have deleted all the print prefs I could find, restarted several times, ran Onyx, repaired permissions, deleted the Canon printer and reinstalled updated driver, restarted the printer several times, printed from different programs... everything I can think of.
The fact that I can not print to PDF or even open the print Queue tells me it's probably not the printer itself but the OS. Come to think of it, the print queue icon never worked right since I installed Leopard, I always had to force quit, but the printer still printed. Did a clean install.
    Any advice?
    Thanks!

The printer was working after the erase and install, except for the print queue program, but the printer still printed. Yes Canon says it works fine with Leopard as does the most recent driver.
Again, the systems print to PDF is not working either. Am I missing any prefs that I should delete? I deleted all the com.apple.prints that I saw in the user library prefs.
Should I reinstall without restoring from Time Machine and just copy my files over?

  • Can't print from Win XP Laptop

I have an Airport Extreme connected to a G5 running 10.5.5.
One of the reasons I got the Airport Extreme was the belief that I could print from my laptop, running XP, wirelessly. I've installed Bonjour. The manual said to follow the on screen instructions, but there were none. When I launch the utility it does see my network, but not the printer. I have the printer plugged directly into the Airport Extreme.
I normally have the printer plugged directly into the Mac because when I have it plugged into the AE I can't print at all.
I do have a SonicWall installed as well.
The imac is connected to the AE via Ethernet.
    Any suggestions?

Finally got this resolved...at least for today by uninstalling bonjour and reinstalling.

  • Cannot print *at all* in LR to Epson 2400

    Hello,
I have a new Macbook Pro, Leopard (fully updated), Lightroom 1.3.1, and an Epson R2400 with the latest Epson 6.X drivers (which I went through the steps to completely uninstall all Epson drivers and reinstall them), and I cannot get a print to go to the printer *at all* -- I mean zero, zip, not even a peep from the printer.
When I send a print job to the printer, I see the job for a brief moment in the print queue dialog, where it says that it is sending data to the printer, and then it disappears, but it never prints. However, I can print to this Epson R2400 with no problems from Photoshop CS3, or other apps. Likewise, I can print from Lightroom to another HP Photosmart Printer. I can't figure this -- if it were a configuration problem or the printer was bad, I wouldn't be able to print from other apps to the Epson R2400. If it was Lightroom which couldn't print, then I wouldn't be able to print from it at all. I had no problems doing this before Leopard, and before LR 1.3. The lethal combination is Leopard, Epson R2400 and Lightroom 1.3.1 -- I have read these forums and it appears there's a lot of gripes about driver versions and print *quality*, but I'm not seeing any problems where people can't print at all.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Brad

    John,
Thanks for the reply. In regards to deleting the entire Printers folder, I haven't done that, but I have deleted the Printers/Epson folder before installing the Epson drivers again. This was one of the steps Epson recommended in uninstalling existing drivers. I have done this, and it had no effect. I'm fine to delete the Epson folder -- however I'm not real crazy about deleting everything else: first, because I have another printer (HP), and second, because I don't really want to nuke my other drivers I may need in the future -- it doesn't seem to make sense that deleting other non-Epson printer drivers would have an effect here.
As for the Print Module in LR, all paper/profiles installed by the Epson driver installed show as selected when accessing them through the "Other..." selection.

  • Can i print wirelessly from iPhone to HP OfficeJet 4500 Desktop Wireless All-in-One Printer ?

i just bought a new printer and its not apper in my iphone how can i print wirelessly ? from iphone ?

the HP iPrint app was replaced by the HP ePrint Home & Biz app. The best source of iPad/iPhone printing compatibility information is the HP support page for Cloud services. Click on the section "HP OfficeJet Products" to see a chart detailing AirPrint, ePrint and HP ePrint Home & Biz compatibility for each OfficeJet product.
Note that OfficeJet 4500 is a family of printers, each with different capabilities. When purchasing it is important to identify the manufacturer number e.g. the CB867A and the CN547 are both HP OfficeJet 4500 printers but the latter has wireless networking and the former does not. I suspect the above support page applies to the entire product family.

  • Have HP 4580 all in one and it worked excellent before Lion.  Could print using Windows on desktop and using Macbook Pro.

Before upgrading to Lion on my MacBook Pro I could print on the HP C4580 All in One using HP Desktop with Windows 7 and using MacBook Pro with no problems.  I upgraded to Lion now can only print when I shut down and restart my MacBook.  If using the desktop or the Microsoft Office on my MacBook it kicks the printer offline and I have to restart my laptop.  I called Apple and they said they did not support 3rd party software.  I had previously purchased the printer through Apple with a desktop.  I installed the new driver from HP and removed it, reinstalled.  Guess what, same problem.  Can anyone tell me how to make lion work.  Apple will not provide help.  Have a iPad and with a small app for $7.00 it prints great.  HELP

You must work for Apple.  Contacted the vendor downloaded their app.  Everytime I open Microsoft Office for Mac it kicks printer off line and if I print from a Windows computer (which printer works perfect) it kicks printer off line.  If I restart Mac it will print the item in the printer.  Don't care what Apple says, prior to loading Lion never had any problems.  Sounds as if Apple programers goofed up and just don't want to admit it and correct their problem. Your comments did not solve any problems, asking for help not Apple support.
