Can't Receive MMS images

Have 2 Blackberry Tour phones.  One has no issues with receiving MMS, however, the other won't receive them.  I suspect my husband was messing, without understanding what he was doing, with the set up and now his phone won't receive MMS images.  Any ideas on what I can do to fix it?

Hi,
Welcome to the forums.  On your device, go to Options>MMS.  Make sure that Multimedia Reception is set to :  Always and Automatic Retrieval:  Always

  • Can't receive MMS from iPhones

    Hello Folks,
Just picked up the Fascinate 3 days ago. LOVING it so far.
That being said, I am having an issue whereby I cannot receive MMS messages sent from iPhone users. I've tried with 3 different iPhones with no luck. I've also tried a couple of other devices (LG Titanium and Blackberry Storm) and am able to receive MMS from these phones, so I think the issue may be limited to iPhones.
Has anyone else experienced something similar to this?
Thanks in advance for your input!

I have provided some information below that may help with receiving a MMS message.
The Samsung Fascinate supports the following file types and formats.
    Pictures
PNG, GIF, A-GIF, WBMP and BMP
    Formats
    Video
    H.263, H.264, MPEG4, 3GP,
3G2 (v9), Xvid and DivX formats
    Music
    WAV, MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, AMR-NB,
AMR-WB, WMA (v9/10), EVRC, QCELP, MIDI, and SP-MIDI formats
In order to receive a MMS message, the message containing a picture, video, or sound must be one of the supported file formats above. The MMS message also has to be within a required size format. I have provided the size requirements below:
Ensuring picture / video message does not exceed file size limit
Devices with a .3 megapixel camera can send / receive a maximum file size of 100 KB.
Devices with a 1.2 - 2 megapixel camera can send / receive a maximum file size of 350 KB.
Devices with a 3.0+ megapixel camera can send / receive a maximum file size of 500 KB.
Lowering the camera resolution will reduce the image file size.
The maximum file size that can be sent from an email to a device is 3 MB. When any message over 350 KB is sent to the device, the file is reduced in size to be under 350 KB prior to delivery. If a device sends a 500 KB file to a device with a lower file size limit the file will be reduced to a file size acceptable by the receiving device.
Many devices are capable of sending messages that exceed intercarrier file size limits (typically 300 - 600 KB).A message that exceeds the other carrier's limits will be rejected and not reach the intended recipient.
***The issue you are experiencing may have to do with file formats, or file sizes that are being sent to the device. Try having the user send another MMS of the supported file (types listed above) and decreasing the size of the file to meet the ranges (listed above). I may also advise the user to send a MMS message to another VZW subscriber (if possible). This will help determine whether or not it is a file/size issue, or a carrier issue.
    I hope this helps.

  • I can't received MMS on my iphone 3GS

    Hi,
I have an iphone 3GS and i can't received and send any MMS.
My iphone have been desimlocked by Orange provider. how can I know that is really fully desimlocked ?
    Regards,
    Helene

First, contact your carrier. If you are able to make calls, etc., odds are your line is not provisioned correctly.

  • Can't view MMS images unless I save them to my photo album

Something strange is going on with MMS on my iPhone 4. It seems to have started around the 4.1 upgrade.
Within the messages app, I can see thumbnails but if I click on an image I get a black screen. If I save the image, I can see it in Photos but can't see it in Messages. All MMS messages behave this way, even the ones that I've sent. I've reset network settings, rebooted, sacrificed a furry woodland creature....nothing seems to help.
Could it be another app that's interfering with it?

Yeah, after wasting nearly an hour on the phone with Apple, I came to that conclusion myself. I had to put the phone in DFU mode to get it to restore to 4.0.1. It's pretty telling that the 4.1 beta is no longer on my developer portal.
    Cheers

  • Can't Preview MMS images iOS6 (Loading screen forever)

I updated to iOS6 and now images sent to me via text will not open in preview mode when I tap on them.  the thumbnails show up in the conversation.  It just spins the wheel and says loading...  I can click the options and select save to camera roll even though it is not loaded.

I recently had this issue as well on my iPhone 5. I powered off the unit for a minute and turned it back on. Seems like it solved the issue - for now.

  • Iphone 4s can't receive MMS from any phones

Would anyone know if I need to activate some Iphone 4s settings to receive pics thru MMS?

You should not have to. Check with your carrier to make sure your account is properly provisioned.

  • BB Curve 8520--Can't receive MMS messages, but can successfully send them.

I just got the BB Curve 8520 and I can send MMS messages successfully, but no matter how many times someone sends me a MMS, it does not make it to me. I tried changing my firewall and MMS settings, but this has still left me without any incoming MMS messages. It is supposed to be included in my plan with Rogers. Any suggestions?

  • Can't receive MMS unless Data is on when MMS is sent to me.

I have an iPhone 4 running ios 7.1.2 (using Tracfone service) Everything works great (including sending MMS) except if I have data turned off at the time a MMS is sent to me then I don't ever receive it. If I have data turned on the moment the message is sent then I receive it within a minute. Please help! :-)

I know that you need the data on to receive and send MMS messages, but even if you don't have your data on when someone sends a MMS then when you turn your data on again you should receive the message...at least I know on other phones it has worked like this.
It's going to depend on how long you have your data off. If it's just a couple of hours, your carrier may hold the information and deliver it. If it's more than a day or so, it may never get delivered. That's normal.
Does RESET ALL SETTINGS just change your personal settings?
Yes it does and it will not "fix" this problem.
In order for an app to send you a notification, it would first have to receive the message.

  • I can't receive mms from android users since up dating to ios6. Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it?

The message comes through, but has a question mark instead of the picture. Has anyone got any ideas? I don't really want to go back to old firmware.

Is it formatted Mac OS Extended (journaled)?  If not do so using Disk Utility.
P.S.  If you store live fies on an external disk you need to back it up just like data on your internal disk or if and when that disk crashed then, poof, all your music will be gone.
If you do not already have one, purchase an external drive to dedicate to Time Machine backups.  Then in the Time Machine exclusions list, remove the image of the music offload disk.  Then both your internal and external live drives will be backed up to the Time Machine disk.

  • HT4993 I can not send mms or email photos

Ive been on carrier data and wifi. Ive reset the phone mulitipul times. Ive turned on data roaming. Photos still upload to facebook and the like but i cant email or mms. i have a 5s...issue started 2 days ago.

Any error message provided when an email won't send?
MMS is exchanged via a carrier's cellular network only and MMS with the iPhone requires cellular data. If you have cellular data and MMS Messaging enabled, you need to contact your carrier about that problem to ensure MMS is provisioned properly for your account with an iPhone.

i have the iphone 3g and have upgraded to 3.0
i can receive mms, but not send them. the bar goes to about 90% of the way, then i am left with a red blob, telling me it failed.
any idea why or what to do to resolve it?

    Who's your provider?

It turned out to be a problem with my profile at their end. I was set to be a prepaid customer, when really I have an account. They fixed it in a few seconds by recreating my profile.

  • Can i send and receive mms messages in my ipad ?

how i can send and receive mms messages in my ipad?

You should be able to do this through the iMessage app if the other person is connected through an apple device If not however there are plenty of apps on the app store that you would be able to use to send pics as long as the other user has a smart phone (does not have to be apple)... for example WhatsApp, Kik, Skype etc Hope that this helps!
