Can't set AGP speed

Hello,
I have the A64 3200+ and the MSI K8T NEO Fis2r... with a Radeon 9800 XT.
I cant set a AGP speed for the 9800xt, in the bios its auto, and I cant change that. In the smartgart in advanced display options for the vid card, I can set the speed, but it always goes back again to 'off'..
can anyone help me? I have all the newest drivers and bios!

Try a fresh install installing the OS, updates, via drivers, then vid drivers.  Or try running the AGP at 4x.  It resets back to off when it fails the setup test.

But how I have to do a frame hold if I can't set speed of one frame to 0%

Use a time remapping freeze frame instead if you want 0 speed.
What a rubbish did you say? I am in Time remapping freeze menu and IN THIS MENU we can't set a value to 0%. A value: 1.00% is a minimum.
You have to miss a screen what I paste before, so specially for you (there is even a red box):

  • Can you set up speed dials?

can you set up speed dials for numbers you call often?

Depends on your definition of speed dial.  There is a Favorites list that works well.  There are also some apps that allow you to put a one-tap icon on the home screen to make a call.  There are no keypad combinations that wil speed dial.

  • Need help setting AGP Speed

The motherboard is K8T Neo-FIS2R with the lastest Bios 1.1.  I am running Win XP Service Pack 1.  The video Card is Radeon 9800 XT with the lastest driver.  In the Bios of the motherboard, the AGP Mode is Auto and it will not allow me to change that.  Fast Write is Enabled.
My problem that I'm having is when I'm view the APG Speed in the Advanced setting for the Video Card,  the Current AGP Speed is set to off and Fast Write is off.  When I changed the setting to AGP Speed 8X and Fast Write Enabled, I have to reboot the system and after reboot, the seting went back to the original (AGP Speed is Off and Fast Write is Off).
Why is it doing this?  During installation of Windows XP, it never ask for any driver except for the Serial ATA.  Do I have to install some driver that came on the CD with the motherboard?  I went to view the CD but the CD is bad, the CD drive would not read it but read other CDs just fine.  I went to the MSI website and looked at drivers for this board and saw VIA Chipset 4 in 1 Driver.  Do I need to install this?  If so, will it override the Serial ATA driver that I have to install before installing Win XP?

If it scrolls that way, its NOT because you run AGPx4 and NOT because fastwrite is disabled. That is only a driver problem.
It's best to disable fastwrite anyway. Gives no extra peformance and makes the whole system a little more unstable.
There is also NO or very little (minimal) performance gain from AGP4 to AGP8.
Be sure to use the catalyst uninstaller from ati.com before installing the drivers again

  • Bios Request to set AGP 4x on KT400's

I own some MSI KT4VL (rev 1.0 w/ latest bios) and some Radeon 9700 Pro - Eventhough it is running fairly decent, I do experience lock-ups and this is annoying...I've posted the details in the Radeon 9700 and KT4 thread here in this forum...
From what I've read from other users experiencing lock-ups issues with the 9700 Pro and KT400 motherboards, a lot of them were able to set AGP 4x (instead of AGP 8x) as a workaround and get the 9700 to run nicely - With the MSI KT4V, the AGP mode cannot be changed from AGP 8x - Would it be possible to make a request and get a biod which would allow AGP mode to be changed so that we (the consumers) could get on and try out this workaround (this would ease the pain)...Bas, Maesus, can you guys inquire and make such a request?
    Much appreciated,

There are KT400 motherboards out there where you can set the APG speed mode other than 8x - The Asus a7v8x for instance...
Here is a thread here where 'RavenShield1' set the AGP speed to 4x as a workaround to fix the lock-ups...I will add more examples and just wanted to point you to this one in the meantime...
The bios for the KT400 MSI mobo's according to the manual is supposed to let you set the AGP mode but whatever GPU I run, I got no way to change it...

  • Can I set up a timer for iTunes Match?

I use iTunes on a daily basis at my small graphic design business. I've loved having access to my large iTunes library both here and at home.
Unfortunately, the internet connection I have at work is DSL and, as you can imagine, the upload speeds are horribly slow.
While I love having iTunes Match. I get frustrated whenever the iTunes updates Match. This slows everything down to a crawl, including all of the other people sharing the wireless connection. This happens whenever I add a new mp3 to the library. Sometimes these mp3s are long mixes and take forever to upload. I probably do this on a daily basis.
My question to you all is, is it possible to set up a timer with iTunes Match? In other words, could I program iTunes Match to update everything at night when I'm not using the computer and therefore not interfering with my internet connection during the day?
I realize that most people reading this are not using an internet connection based in the late 90's, like we are. Believe me, I've looked into upgrading and it seems as if we're stuck with what we have for the foreseeable future.
I wonder if anyone has ideas for a work-around to this issue?
    Thanks much.

You might want to look into using Automator to accomplish what you want to do. For example, create an Automator action/script to look in a certain folder at a certain and move the audio files to the "automatically add to iTunes" folder, then have it launch iTunes which would then kick off the iTunes Match process. You could have it do all this after everyone has left the office for the night.
It might require some experimentation, though, to get it just right.

  • Can't set timer for titles

I am having a problem setting the speed and pause for a title. The title appears for about 2 seconds, but I can't make it stay for any longer period with the speed and pause sliders or by tying in a number in either. Some of the titles have a message that they can be no longer then 3 seconds, others say they are 40 to 50 seconds. If I set the time for the clip to longer it has no effect on the time for a title. I am not new to iMovie but I could still be doing something wrong, although this looks pretty straightforward. Please help.

iMovie's title durations are not accurate as you have noticed.
As a workaround, in the time line you could apply a little speed up or slo mo to the title clip, using the VideoFX effect "slow/fast/reverse". That would speed up the title or slow it down.
Or you could create two title clips side by side, and trim the right hand edge of the left clip and the left hand edge of the right clip so that the two pause portions of the title are joined together. That would extend the pause section.
Or you could do an Edit > Still Frame of the pause, and then splice it into the title to extend the pause.

It depends on what type of interface card you have, but basically you can use ndd -set and ndd-get commands on most of the NICs in a Sun box:

  • Setting playback speed for podcasts

Whenever I watch a podcast it starts at the 1 1/2 speed and I must change it back to the 1X speed.  It only started doing this.  How can I set it to run at the 1 1/2 speed on startup?

I've seen a similar bug as well.  I have an iPhone 4 (AT&T).  I listen to podcasts at double speed while driving to work.  When an incoming phone call interrupts the podcast, the podcast plays at single speed when the call ends.  The display still shows the poscast playing at 2X speed.  I need to cycle through "1/2x, 1x, 2x" to get the podcast back to 2x.  Not a big deal, but a tad annoying.

  • Is limiting network speed by setting adapter speed good? [SOLVED: yes]

i have an arch NAT router PC which has 3 network adapters present; "external" for my cable modem interface, "internal" for an internal subnet 172.16.0.0/16, and "wifi" which is a separate internal subnet 192.168.192.0/24 open wifi that I recently setup for guests and the like. the open wifi is explicitly barred access to the 172 network with iptables. i currently have a 50mbps down/10mbps up comcast internet connection. i have been limiting the open wifi's speed by setting the NIC designated for it to 10 mbps, just so that all of my bandwidth isn't completely eaten up. this appears to work completely fine; realistic speed is measured to around 8mbps throughput, which I consider fine for basic internet access.
i'm just curious whether this is an appropriate method to restrict bandwidth speed? i've read about something called "qdisc" which could limit speeds within iptables, is this a better way to accomplish this?

Luckily you are in the position of having a whole link that you want a hard limit on.
tc is more for traffic control between source and destination of packets going over the same link, or dynamic stuff. However, it will never be as trusted as a link set to a slower bit rate, and can be a pain to manage/T-Shoot.
Over the WAN traffic control is normally done with switching protocols like ATM and MPLS. However, even on large networks clients may be rate limited by the network admin simply setting the speed of their link slower in the configuration then what it can really handle.
