Can the monitor frame be replaced?

Hello everyone,
I just had an unfortunate accident which involved the fall of my MacBook Air purchased just a few months ago.
The only apparent damage seems to be the monitor frame, which is now bent on the top left corner.
I was wondering if replacing the frame alone is possible or if I'm going to be forced to replace the entire upper part including the monitor, which is absolutely undamaged.
Thanks

Call the nearest Apple store or AASP, and ask.

Apple consider this product vintage so they won't perform any hardware service on it. You may have to look towards 3rd parties.

  • Can the ipad screen be replaced if it is broken

my ipad screen is completely broken. i dropped it from 3 feet and there's a big crack like a spider web and the white boundary around the screen is broken deeply!! i am from delhi, india and my dad lives in mumbai due to his office being there he regularly visits us. he bought the ipad from thailand and when he took to thh apple store in mumbai, maharashtra, india they said that it will be fine and now when the staff sent the product further for repairing ..... the news is that it can't be repaired or replaced!! what to do can you please tell me if it can be replaced!! and if it caan be then how much will it cost!!??????
price in india for ipad 2 =  Rs. 40,000
replacement or repairing = Rs. 20,000 - 40,000 what to do???

Yes it can. NO idea how it'll work in India but I believe APple's policies are world wide. Replacement costs start at $249 and goes up depending on the model. What you're really paying for is a reduced cost to replace your broken one with a refurbished one.
I'd look for authorized repair shops in your area (the 'contact us' link on the lower right of this page goes to a page with phone numbers and links to world wide authorized repair places) and go from there.
Non-authorized ones will be cheaper but if you use one of those you will void any remainder of your factory warranty.

  • Can the Picture Frame change rate slow down?

Twenty seconds is *way* too fast but appears to be the slowest it goes. Ideally something like twenty *minutes* is what I'm after.

Yes, I saw that slideshow feature in Photos so was disappointed to find that the Picture Frame feature is simply the very same thing! While I would agree with Apple that 20 sec is probably ok for a slideshow, where the user is concentrating on the screen and actively *watching* it, a picture frame is entirely different, it's just glanced at occassionally. A picture frame that flashes up a different shot every 20 secs is very distracting.
I suppose there is the solution of using lots of duplicates of each shot in an album to extend the time each is on screen, but even a 10 minute duration would need 30 copies of every image!
Thanks again, I'm back to the App store now [even that is not straightforward - trying to find a photo app that is not all about adding tacky effects shouldn't be so hard. ]

  • Can the ADC cable be replaced?

i have a 17" studio monitor that has a short in cable. When plugged in, if you jiggle the cable even a little, the display will turn green…and if you jiggle it a little more, you can get it back to normal. Is there any way to replace the whole cable? If so, does anyone know a good source for a replacement cable (new or used)?
i searched and only found 2 threads regarding this issue with 22" displays…but nobody replied. So, any help would be much appreciated!

  • Can the Apple watch totally replace my iPhone?

Can Apple watch totally replace my iPhone?

No, it can't. The Apple Watch is an extension the iPhone.
You need an iPhone to set up the Apple Watch. Without the iPhone this is what you can do with an Apple Watch once it's set up:
Use Apple Watch without its paired iPhone
Although you need an iPhone to do most things with Apple Watch, you can still do several things with Apple Watch without having an iPhone in range.
Play music from a synced playlist on Apple Watch
Use the watch, alarms, timers, and the stopwatch
Keep track of your activity (stand, move, exercise) with the Activity app
    Track workouts

  • Can the changing port be replaced

My 4 year old son decided to help charge my daughters 2nd gen iPod by shoving the lightening connector into the port over and over damaging and flattening all the pins. Is there anyway to replace the charging port? Or will apple fix it if I take it to an apple store? How much?

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

A third-party place like the following will replace the connector for less. Google for more.

Howeer, it may be better/less expensive to just purchase a used, newer model iPod

  • Can the internal drive be replaced with solid state drive?

I have one of the original MB Air computers with an internal hard drive. Does Apple offer the option of upgrading to the solid state drive? If I did (and it is possible) would it run cooler?

That said, you may be able to find a 3rd-party Apple Service Provider that would do it. Be sure to find someone certified. The MacBook Air isn't the easiest machine to work on.
Going to an SSD would give you a performance boost, but I'm not sure it would help with heat that much.
And there's the question of money. Spending the money an SSD + install may not be worth it on an original MBA.

  • How do I replace the frame from the monitor on my GX740?

Problem: When I move the hinges on my laptop, sometimes the screen goes black until I move it into a different position, like the light disconnects (in fact, I'm pretty sure that's exactly what happens, as I can still see some stuff on the screen; it's just not lit). Having had LCD problems in the past with other machines, I figured "hey, probably just a loose connector, it happens; I should be able to just lock that strip back in place quite easily" (why they don't just make those connectors less prone to falling out - especially ones located in or near hinges - eludes me).
Sure. If I can just get inside the monitor frame. Which it seems I can't. I removed the screws, but when I tried to pull off the plastic frame, it cracked. The plastic frame around my monitor now has visible cracks in it.
So now I need to know not only how to remove this frame, but if possible, also where I can get a replacement for just that one part. I'll gladly take just an answer to the first part and live with the cracked frame as long as I can do something about the loose connector, but if there's an answer to the second part as well, that'd be really neat.
So...how do I remove the frame? Where can I get a new one now that I've ruined this one? Are there spares? Are they expensive?
I'd greatly appreciate a quick answer to the frame removal question, as I intend to bring this computer on a trip overseas and would like the LCD light to not have disconnected completely by the time I arrive, so I'd like to properly attach it before it's time to leave.
I've never had a machine that's so hard to open. This strikes me as quite user-unfriendly design, especially given how little it takes for an LCD connector disconnect, especially one located in the hinge area of a laptop.

I'm not certain they are the same as the GX740 but I would I imagine they are very similar.
As far as finding another bezel, your best bet might be ebay.

  • My iphone wont charge can the charging port be repaired or replaced

my iphone wont charge can the charging port be replaced or repaired

Apple does not repair devices at all.
As stated, you can elect to find a local repair shop to do the work, but understand that Apple does not sell parts either.
Alternatively, you can choose to do an Out of Warranty replacement via Apple and get a 90 day warranty on the replacement device.
Another option would be to replace the device with a more current model.

The computer (top / back of monitor) gets really hot within minutes.

    How old is the iMac?
With no backup, you have probably lost all your data.
Sounds like serious hardware problem for which you are going to have to take it to Apple for an estimate of repairs.

  • The second frame lost in CAN communication when use NI PCI-CAN/XS2 card

I got a trouble on CAN communication recently.
I need to commmunicate a Cluster with CAN BUS,the baud rate is 500kBPS,the CAN card is NI PCI-CAN/XS2. The operating system is Windows XP.
normally, the PC send a command to Cluster, then read back a frame of data from the Cluster, but for some commands, the Cluster will return two frames of data, and the programe on PC cannot receive the Seconds frame,it lost.
I searched the forum, most of the reslut is the error about CAN BUS overflow, which make the CAN frame lost, but there is not any error report on my programe, and the baud rate is no that fast,I also use another port of NI PCI- CAN/XS2 to monitor the CAN bus,the second data frame never appear, when I replace NI CAN card with Vector CanCaseXL(CAN card) ,and call CanCaseXL's DLL in labVIEW,it can get the second CAN frame, the monitor of Vector CanCaseXL can get the second data frame too.
so,is there some software/hardware configuration need to be done to get the second data frame?
the attached pictures are NI-CAN/Vector CAN monitor and CAN init/write&read in my programe.
    Any reply is appreciate!!! thanks
