CANbus database file format

Hello everybody,
I'm looking for information regarding the database file format which is used to store CANbus channels.
Did anyone happen to deal with that?

Hi arieh,
The two supported file formats for CAN in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) are .dbc and .ncd.  You can import CANdb files by right clicking on the CANchannels folder in MAX.  For more detailed information on the CAN file format click here.

  • Translating Microsoft Works 4.5 Database Files to Appleworks 6 format

    Hi,
Having recently moved to Mac from Windows I am trying to transfer files from my old machine to my Mac mini. As I have thousands of files in Window format that I hope to use on my Mac I spent the money to purchase a copy of MacLinkPlus V. 15.
Happily when I attempted to translate word processing files created in Word 97 to Appleworks 6.2.9 all went well. But when I attempted to translate database files created in Microsoft Works 4.5 I ran into trouble!
To whit, after "adding" the MS Works database file to MacLink Plus I click on translate but when the translation settings window open there is no AppleWorks 6 database file format to select. I tried selecting AppleWorks 2.1, 3.0 but after the translation is done there is just a bunch of disorganized text in the destination file.
Given that the program claims to support MS Works 4.5 I was at a loss as to why this was happening so I contacted the MacLinkPlus help desk to find out what I should do. Initially they said that MacLinkPlus does not support Microsoft Works 4.5 file translation. But when I checked the link they supplied to supported formats Microsoft Works 4.5 database files were clearly shown as being fully supported.
When I pointed this out to them they next asked if I was sure I had Appleworks on my computer..... What can one say to a question like that, especially when it is asked in broken English?
Does anyone out there have any idea what is going on here? Is there a way to get MacLinkPlus to do what the company says it will do, i.e. translate my Microsoft Works database files to Appleworks 6 format? If not, what would folks suggest as a work around method of getting these database files into the Appleworks 6 database?
    Thanks,
    Winston
PS For anyone interested in the quality of support at MacLinkPlus I offer the following message I recieved from their Help Desk:
"MacLinkPlus only support AppleWorks 6 for word processing or spreadsheet files. Because you are dealing with a database file you are only able to choose from those formats. To see the full list of file formats that MacLinkPlus supports, please view this page:"
    http://www.dataviz.com/products/maclinkplus/mlp_xlators.html
Note: When I clicked on the above link this is what I found:
    DOS and Windows Database Formats
    ClarisWorks 1.0, 3.x, 4.0
    Comma Separated Values (Write only)
    dBase (DBF) II, III, IV
    FoxBASE/FoxPro
    MS Works for Windows 2.0, 3.0, 4.5, 95
    Tab Text (Write only)
    WordPerfect Works 2.0

Thanks for the tips I guess that I will try to export the database files in tab delimited format and paste them into a database that I create in Appleworks 6. I can't say that I am looking forward to this, but it would appear I have no choice.
At this point in time I would have to say that my foray into the Mac World has been a most unpleasant experience. In truth when you add this difficulty to the many others I've had with my Mac I have had more computer problems in the past 3 months than in the prior 8 years with Windows.
By the way, I heard back from MacLinkPlus today and they had this to say:
    Hi Winston,
The reason you don't have AppleWorks 6 listed as an option in MacLinkPlus, is because when it comes to Databases, MaclinkPlus only supports these formats:
    AppleWorks 5.0
    AppleWorks 6.0 (Read Only)
    ClarisWorks 1.0, 2.x, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0
    Excel 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 98, 2001, X, 2004
    MS Works 2.0, 3.0, 4.0
    SYLK (Read Only)
    AppleWorks (Apple II) 2.1, 3.0
So, it is not going to give you AppleWorks 6 as an option because when Dealing with Database files, AppleWorks 6 isnot supported.
So what you can do, is choose either AppleWorks 2 or 3, convert the file.
Then try to use AppleWorks 6 to open it with.
AppleWorks 6 may not recognize such an old file though.
    Here is my reply:
    Dear Annya,
I must admit that I am still confused regarding all this. In your most recent e-mail you say that MacLinkPlus does not recognise Microsoft Works 4.5 database files but on your website it says that it does.
I tried your work around and Appleworks 6 refused to open the database file translated into Appleworks 2, 3 so it would now appear that I am not going to be able to use MacLinkPlus to translate the files.
While your offer for a refund on the MacLinkPlus was appreciated, I am out a great deal more than the purchase price of MacLinkPlus because of this. Simply put I would never have purchased my Mac mini computer in the first place if my visit to your website had not left me confident that your software would allow me access to my old database files.
To say that I am dissappointed would be quite an understatement and I certainly hope that your company rewrites the material on its own website in an effort to make clear that MacLinkPlus can not translate Microsoft Works database files.
In the mean time, know anybody looking for an almost brand new MacIntosh computer?
    With regrets,
    Winston

  • Convert the Database records to a standard XML file format?

    Hai,
i want to convert the Database records to a standard XML file
format which includes the schema name, table name, field name
and field value. i am using Oracle 8.1.7. Is there any option
    please help me
    Thanks in advance.

You could put the files somewhere and I can export them as QuickTime. Or you could find anyone you know who has Director. Or do the 30 day trial download
Another approach would be to play the DCR in a browser window, and do a screen recording. But that’s unlikely to give the perfect frame rate that you would get by exporting from Director.

  • What file format Oracle Database 11g can spool data w chinese characters?

    Hi,
I have a batch job that spools data into a text file for further processing but now I have data that contains chinese characters.
From what I know text file (.txt) cannot support chinese characters.
Anyone has any idea what file format Oracle Database 11g can spool data with chinese characters?
    Thank you!

I'm not sure this can work with SQL*Plus in character mode on Windows DOS mode. But this should work with SQL Developer: see Re: How to display Chinese characters in Oracle?
I can also make this work with Linux:
    $ locale

  • HOW DO YOU CONVET AN ORACLE DATABASE FILE TO A TXT FILE?

Is there a way in a program unit of a form to convert an ORACLE database file into TXT format? When the file gets created, I want to use the text file in a distribution list for sending email. My code in the program unit is:
    Insert into THE_IMO_EMAIL
    Select distinct imo_email from DS_POC
    where imo_email is not null;
    commit;
Table THE_IMO_EMAIL is a temporary table. The temporary table gets deleted everytime before records get inserted into it. There is only 1 item in the temporary table.
    IMO_EMAIL VARCHAR2(55)
After the COMMIT I want to copy the contents out of the
    THE_IMO_EMAIL into a TXT File.
How do I do this? What parameters do I need to use? Should I do this in another program unit?

can you be more clear on this
"DATABASE FILE" what is this? an RDBMS file and you need this in ASCII format. I am lost.

    Thanks for your help

    Cause
This problem generally occurs if the MDF file of your SQL Server has got damaged. the problem could be due to file header corruption or wrong information in file header.
All such situations lead to the inaccessibility of MDF file and need to repair and restore the database. It is very important to work around this problem, as it may put your business at risk of destruction.
The MDF repair is possible with the help of third party applications known as SQL recovery software. These software are helpful in each and every case of MDF corruption and thus allow you to have perfect MDF recovery.
To perform SQL repair using these software, it is not necessary for the user to have sound technical knowledge as MDF repair software come with interactive user interface. SQL recovery software do systematic scan of corrupted MDF files, repair and restore them in original format.
Stellar Phoenix SQL Database Recovery is the most advanced and the most influential SQL recovery software which allows you to have effective and successful MDF recovery in all cases of corruption. This SQL repair software comes equipped with an interactive, simple and cool looking user interface.
This MDF repair software is powerful enough to carry out systematic scan of entire MDF file and extract all of the data from it. This SQL repair software can restore all of the MDF objects including tables, reports, forms, macros, database constraints, stored procedures, triggers etc.

Urgent issues indicate a live/production system is having problems and a company is losing money, or customers are being prevented from using it.
For urgent issues you should raise your issue with Oracle Support using your customer support identifier.
The community forums are for non-urgent issues.  To suggest such issues are urgent is considered rude, as the people who help here are volunteers with their own jobs to do, so demanding their time for your "urgent" issue is not appropriate.  It also suggests that you think your issue is more important than other people's issues, so you are being rude to those people too.  Your issue is no more important than anyone elses.
In relation to your question, you need to provide more information.
Please read: Re: 2. How do I ask a question on the forums?
When you refer to "SQL Server" are you referring to the Microsoft SQL Server product, or are you just referring to a physical server with your oracle database on it?

Oh, baby! This bad boy flies!! Here's what to expect:
I had 40,000 images in Aperture 3 and it was dog slow at everything. I installed 3.1 update today. It took 5 minutes to update the database and then behaved marginally better than before at ASIC library navigation. I was disappointed.
Then I QUIT the app. It took a couple of hours to "update files for sharing" with a counter that went to 110,000 images. So it must have updated every thumbnail and variation of preview. Turned it back on , and BAM. Came up fully in seconds. Paused for 10 seconds ten everything was lickrty split. For the first time ever, I can use the Projects view with all 791 projects and scroll quickly. I even put it in photos modevand whipped thru all 49,000 images!
Haven't done anybprocessing yet, but i'm liking it!!

    Hello,
    http://www.oracle.com/webapps/online-help/reports/10.1.2/topics/htmlhelp_rwbuild_hs/rwcontxt/props/pi_col_read_from_file.htm
Suppose that for each of your employees you have a .bmp file that contains a picture of the employee. In your employee table, you have a column named PICTURE that contains the name of the .bmp file with the employee's picture.
To generate a report that displays the employees' pictures, you select the PICTURE column in your query. In the Column properties for the PICTURE column, you set Read from File to Yes and specify Image as the File Format. Reports Builder will display the files pointed to by the PICTURE column wherever you have referenced the PICTURE column in your layout.

I have iphoto 6 and my pictures are no longer showing.  I have tried importing them but it just give me an error msg. (file format not recognized) I have tried rebuilding the iphoto library but that doesn't work either. Any suggestions?

    How did you rebuild?
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download <a href="http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/"><b><u>iPhoto Library Manager</b></u></a> and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 6* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • Iphoto 6 file formats

My photos are organized and stored in the iphoto library. I use photoshop elements for editing. I have been using the jpeg format. When I try to save in jpeg2000, it doesn't make it back into the iphoto library after I save and close. Why? Where does it go?
    My thanks to responders.

Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Generate a report in text file format

    Hello Experts,
I need to write a program to generate a report in a text file format which is later saved on a directory in the application server. I have the fields with the sources defined and also the filters, selections, rows and columns. For example:-
0company code (US) as the filter, 0CALDAY as the selection, CUSTNAM as the object in the row with sources coming from BUKRS and ZSD_CCUST. Can someone initiate or direct me to an already existing forum or throw some light on the issue.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
As mentioned above, the Open Hub service allows to extract data from an InfoCube/ODS/InfoObject and then store it a database table or flat file stored in the application server. You can start in transaction RSBO and create an InfoSpoke there.
To schedule an extraction using an InfoSpoke, you need to place it in a process chain.

  • ASO Migration 9.3 to 11.1.2.2 using Migration Wizard, Old File Format

I migrated 100 or so applications from 9.3 to 11.1.2.2 using the Migration Wizard in EAS. When I open any of the outline files, I get the message:
Old file format discovered, we suggest you to migrate this outline.
I used the web console to perform the migrations. Is there any way to migrate the outlines to the new file format without having to open them all up and go through this? Does the Migration Wizard simply copy the old format to the new server?

Yes you will need to export the data from each essbase database and then load into the databases on your 11.1.2 environment.
The steps outlined in your post are just to move the planning applications relational piece.
    Cheers
