Chances are, they shipped the box before you cancelled. To be safe, I'd call them and make sure the cancelation actually went through.

  • How to cancel iPhone repair online?

Yesterday i had requested an online repair for my iPhone as it had a speaker fault. So this morning when i woke up, my iPhone was lying on the floor, i think must've dropped it while asleep. Well anyways, i tested it all and it seems to be working fine, the speaker problem is sorted now
So now there is no need to send it for repair, how do i cancel this? I have also recieved an empty box from Apple with AppleCare box. What do i do about them?

    Call AppleCare.

  • How do I cancel a repair request

How do I cancel a completed repair requst online for an iphone 5?

When I set up an appointment at an Apple store, I received an email confirming when and where along with the following:
If you are no longer able to attend this session, please cancel or reschedule your reservation.
With cancel and reschedule being a hyperlink to redirect you to cancel or reschedule the appointment. Or you can call the Apple store to cancel and re-schedule your appointment.

  • You cancel a repair ticket without completing repairs?????

I have had no landline dialtone since at least Monday 5/19 (and still don't.)  I called on 5/20 and a ticket was created with a "committment" of Friday 5/23 by 9 p.m.  The ticket showed up on my online account.  Friday 9 p.m. comes and goes with no dial tonw.  Verizon extends th "committment" to Saturday 5/24 by 9 p.m.  Again, nothing.  I did drive by the worksite  on 5/24 and had to ask some Verizon worker (who was chatting away on his cell phone!) what was going on and he said they'd be working Saturday and Sunday.  He claimed that new construction (on th opposite side of a 4 lsne highway mind you with no backhoes or bulldozers) cut a line.  He said something about paper lines, but I have no idea what that means.  Today, Sunday 5/25, I saw a Verizon cherrypicker near my condo complex entrance, so I figure everything is nearly done ... at least they're no longer down the street 1/4 mile.  By 5 p.m. on Sunday 5/25, I still didn't have a dial tone and THE ONLINE UDATE SAID THERE WERE NO OPEN TICKETS.  I had to call repair ... using a prepaid cell (and wasting time going through the prompts and being on hold only to have it confirmed by the repair rep  at Verizon THAT THE WORK WAS COMPLETE SND THE REPAIR CREW HAD FIXED THE PROBLEM.  LIARS!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!  The repair rep also said I that I should have bern called or a visit to my door, but neither happened.  IS THIS INCOMPETENCE OR FRAUD??????????  Did the crew want to rack up overtime on Saturday and Sunday, but keep their Memorial Day plans free?  I can't get a straight answer OR a dialtone!  I'm at my wit's end and I can't find a (much) higher up at Verizon to hear my pleas.  The only thing a service rep will say is PUC.  There's got to be a better way to get this fixed NOW (not the "new committment date of 5/27 by 9 p.m.")  Even in the eorst of this winter's storm, cable and electric didn't take this long.  The line worker said Verizon was filing a claim against the construction developer BUT WHAT ABOUT FILING ON MY BEHALF ... credit for lost accessibility is no longer enough!!  Remember, I ( and the 38 to 400 customers also affected ... depending on which service rep you talk to)  have had no 911 service.  Riddle Memorial HOSPITAL is less than 1/4 of a mile away and in the opposition direction ELWYN RESIDENTIAL school for the developmentally disabled is also 1/4 a mile away.
I AM AT MY WIT'S END !!!!!!   HELP ... and please, don't tell me to check my status page for another empty promise.  Verizon, you have the prepaid cell phone number.

  • Truthful about damage, our MacBook air repair order has been canceled. What does this mean?

My husband spilled a beverage on my Air, and we promptly took it to our local Apple store. I am fully aware that AppleCare does not cover water damage. However, while at the store the genius bar folks informed us (in writing) that they could make a one time exception which reduced the tier four damage from almost $700, to $0. Needless to say this thrilled us, as we were completely prepared to replace the unit out if pocket without argument. Later in the evening I signed into my apple account just to see if it had been mailed to the depot. Apple canceled the repair. I would think postponing it, and then calling us to say "hey, we will need payment for this" would have happened before canceling the repair. I need this machine working ASAP for my work, so to have it canceled during memorial day weekend is very bad for us.
    Basic info:
    1. We fully disclosed that there is water damage
    2. In writing we have a CS code, and written statement "depot repair as a one time exception for customer" listed under proposed resolution
    3. Amount due $0.00
Now, I don't mind (well, I do mind because it *****) paying for a repair due to my husbands neglect, however I wish a phone call or email communication should have been made prior to outright canceling the repair order.
What can I do? What does the canceled order mean. we've been loyal apple customers for years, multiple computers, iPhones, I pods, and I pads. The cancellation of our repair order seems odd.

    >while at the store the genius bar folks informed us (in writing)
Have you contacted the Genius that gave you this information for an explanation?  If his/her name is not on the written statement you received, it should be in Apple's system.
    >What can I do? What does the canceled order mean.
    >I need this machine working ASAP for my work, so to have it canceled during memorial day weekend is very bad for us.
I would call either the Apple Store or Applecare.  They should be able to help you.
FWIW, I agree with you 100% that you should have been contacted by Apple.
EDIT:  Looks like you resolved this while I was typing

  • Repairing Your iPod Nano(4th Generation)

I recently called Apple to set up a repair on my brand new iPod 4th Generation Nano iPod. I never experienced this problem, and I own all of Apple iPods with the exception of the 2nd Generation shuffle.
You see, I had synced the iPod using iTunes 8.01, but when it finished, and I pressed the Disconnect key within iTunes, something different happened. The iPod entry was removed on iTunes which is normal, BUT, when I disconnected the cable from my MacBook Pro thinking I was done, the iPod displayed a message warning me to disconnect before removing the iPod from the MacBook Pro. This was new. With all the other iPods, this should have been easy. But it wasn't "easy" because not only could I not remove the message, I couldn't turn the iPod off!
Holding down the play/pause key didn't work, plugging into the power plug didn't work; No, this baby wasn't turning off any time soon. If I was to send it it for repair, I would have to do so with the iPod being on, and I felt that was dangerous.
I also wasn't able to shut down the iTunes application either because Quit didn't work; not even Force Quit! I would have to shutdown the MacBook Pro the hard way in order to do that, and so I held down the power button until the MacBook Pro physically shut off. I then contacted iMac Support, but they felt it was an iPod issue, and of course the iPod rep I spoke to suggested that I call MacBook Pro Support; gee, I hadn't seen finger pointing like that since Bell Telephone and Leased line companies pointed their fingers in opposite directions!
That gave me an idea. Why keep the iPod plugged in to the power source to keep the battery from complete discharge? Why not just let the iPod die/turn off? It would be safer to ship back to Apple, and I might just be able to remove its memory, just like I did with the notebook.
Sure enough, the next morning while getting my morning wake-up coffee, I had to turn on a light to see what I was doing. That's right! I quickly ran over to the iPod and it was off. What would happen when I turned it back on? Was it completely dead? Was the battery ruined?
The screen had a message with a yellow triangle and in small print, a note stating that I had to plug it in to a power source for it to recharge the battery. About four hours later, I took a break and when I glanced at the iPod, there was nothing on the screen. But that was because it timed out but when I pressed the Menu button, low and behold, the iPod was restored, including the two albums I had purchased the day before when I synched the unit!
The doorbell rang and by the timeI went to answer, the DHL Ghost had already left in a cloud of exhaust fumes and a box was laying on the door mat face down. Apple had already sent me the packing items to return the iPod.
But the battery was recharged and the music back on, so I signed on to Apple's support page, you know, to let them know I no longer needed the repair. But after about ten minutes, I wasn't able to find a single place on the support website (maybe I was still needing coffee) to cancel a repair. That's strange. I would think Apple would absolutely love to know about less work for them!
Maybe that's the third lesson I learned. Never ASSUME anything (you know, because you would make an *** out of ME and U). I would have to write this article to maybe help some others, to let Apple know about a need to allow customers to cancel repairs, and maybe even help me if this ever happens again! The jury is still out.

You could try taking it to a Mac store and see what they have to say, but it might just be dead.

  • What can i do for a botched repair?

Hi all, i've experienced a problem with a "repair" done at the Rozzano (Italy) genius bar, is there anything i can do?
When i brought my computer to the apple store it had one broken cpu fan and one working.
When i got it back both fans weren't working.
    Here's the whole story:
In April 2011 i brought my 2006 Mac Book pro to an authorized repair to have one of the CPU fans replaced.
They did the job but after a couple of months the fan failed again.
I went back to them to have the fan replaced under the 3 months repair warranty but the shop was closed (as in forever closed).
Since the other fan was still working and the computer is quite old i decided to leave it that way and use it with just one fan.
In mid-october i was at the Genius Bar in the Rozzano Apple shop for a issue with my phone and asked how much would it cost to replace the fan and since the priced seemed honest (around 30€ instead of the 130€ the first shop asked) i decided to have the work done. I brought my computer to the genius bar on october 29 with the left fan working and the right one broken and left it for the repair.
After a few days i got a call from the genius bar saying that they opened the computer and found out that the first shop basically broke the fan cable connector on the logic board and stuck the fan on with duct tape. Since the damage was on the logic board he couldn't go ahead with the fan replacement and proposed a logic board replacement for around 450€ plus labour. Considering the age of the computer we decided to cancel the repair.
A couple of days later i went back to the shop and got my computer back.
As soon as i got back home i turned it on only to discover that no fan was working.
The next day i went back to the shop and pointed the problem out. The guy at the genius bar took the computer in the back to check if everything was put back together correctly and confirmed that the cables were connected. He then proceeded to suggest the same logic board repair or, better, i buy a new computer.
I tried phone support but all they said was to go back to the shop.
Is there anything i can do?
Is there an email address or phone number for "apple store customer support" or something like that?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Marcello

You might try talking to the Apple store manager and see if you don't get more help...you might also contact Apple.com/support and see if they can give you a contact with the Apple Italy offices.
Sounds like you have two levels of failure, the first shop that did the repair and broke a wire, and the second that has disabled something else and isn't helping.
Apple officially refurbished equipment is usually good quality.  Surprising this has happened but you need to press on with complaints and try for resolution.

  • Verify/Repair disk permissions hangs

    Hello,
Since yesterday my SL became kind of unstable and I have to reboot it because of a hang with a spinning wheel quite often.
I want to verify/repair the disk permissions but the tasks never completes. When I run it via the GUI in the Disk Utility, it goes to around 5% then nothing happens even if I wait several hours. I can cancel the repair.
I also tried to run it via the command line but the progress stays at 0% :
    ~ $ sudo diskutil verifyPermissions /
Started verify/repair permissions on disk0s2 Macintosh HD
    0% ...............................................
    ~ $ sudo diskutil repairPermissions /
Started verify/repair permissions on disk0s2 Macintosh HD
    0% ...............................................
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks,
    Tex

From your description it sounds like the internal HD is failing. It should be under 1 year old so you are covered by the warranty, make an appointment ASAP with your local Apple Store or AASP to bring it in. In addition if you have not purchased AppleCare now is the time to get it, AppleCare will extend your warranty to 3 years. However you must buy it buy it within the first year of ownership!
Here is a link you can use to make an appointment.
    Regards,
    Roger

  • Customer Service\HP Wont Send Me My Computer Back!!!!

Today, I am writing because i am furious from getting off the phone with HP.  I am a college student and i really need my computer to get through my day, currently i only have access to the ones at the library. You know how inconvenient a computer at a college library is...I saved up enough money to by me a HP TM2 + Touchsmart ADP.  I simply fell in love with it.  The touch screen started acting up and i called in to have it checked out, the couldnt diagnose the problem over the phone, so they sent the order in to have it looked at by a technician.  That was on April 23, 2010. The computer was sent and the estimated date to get the computer back was May 14, 2010.  When that date came around, no computer, no message from HP and no update online about the order.  Two days later i call them about my computer and they say the computer was not repaired because of a part shortage.  Right? the manufacturer of my computer ran out of parts to fix it? does that make sense? So they told me that the they will update the status online when they fix it and will ship it back.  Another week goes by and still no word from them. so i called them and they finally say June 18, 2010 is my estimated fix date when they get the parts in.  So i tell them please ship my the Computer back unrepaired so that i could use it for a while when summer school starts on May 24.  After a week of them giving me the run around they finally cancel my repair order on May 23. I thought that the would be shipping it immediately, but they said that the office is not open on the weekend i had to wait until monday the 24 to have them ship it. The technician said, "For sure you will recieve your computer within 2-3 business days."  A week goes by and still no computer. I call them today. the first time i try to connect to a technician, he/she answers the phone then hangs up, same thing happens the second time.  So I *67 the number and called back. finnally got an answer. I ask them where is my computer. and they say it should have been recieved on May 27, 2010. I tell them I have not gotten it back and requested a tracking number. He says that there isnt one. So they transfer me to another line and the person tells me that they have not shipped the unit because they ran out of boxes to ship the unit in. and that they will send me an email when they send out the computer. I ask for a number to their manager and he said that there isnt a number on file.
I loved HP until i had to deal with the employees that they have working for them. The service has been far worse than i can ever imagine it would be.  I loved my HP TM2. by far the best laptop on the market. Worth every penny of the $1000 i paid for it. But this is unneccessary.  There is no reason that my computer should be gone for 2 months with out it being fixed and sent back. they have given me every excuse in the book for why they have failed to with hold their word. As far as I am concerened, This will be the last computer I buy from them especially one under warranty. because I paid $125 for a protection plan so that i would get full support from HP and in return they:
Dont have any technicians that can speak english
    their offices dont communicate
the emplyees never logged all the times i called and why
they dont update/ communicate effectively with the consumer
    the service is simply horrible
As far as i am concerned, HP has stolen my computer and will not give it back. I tell them to fix it and they try to keep it for as long as possible. I am really planning on pursuing legal action since i have recordings of the phone calls with the rude technicians that gave me the run around, hung up on me, and gave me the same information. We the consumers are the reason they have a job and this is how we are repaid.

  • APPLE LOST MY IPHONE AND NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE IN APPLE CARE!!!!!!!! wow

    i'm reallllllllly ****** right now,
i called apple care service by phone (waited 45 minutes to talk to someone in french) to explain that my new iphone 4 had a bad battery. The apple guy aggreed and sent me a box for me to send my iphone back at them for repair. The guy didnt chek my address and sent a box to my old address and a box to my new adress (after correction). In 1 day the box arrived at me and I was really happy with the fast response.
    now begins my nightmare.
The box was supposed to have the return slip taped to it, but it didnt.
so i called back apple care (1h07 min wait time to speak to someone in french) and explained the problem to them. they sent me a return slip by email wich I had to go to the local store to get printed out since I dont have a printer.
I then taped the return slip to the box and called UPS for pickup.
UPS came and picked-up the box the nex day,
    but then,
    apple sent me 3 email.
2 of them was cancellation for repair on the 2 first box that they sent me, and the last one was a new repair ID.
the thing is now, that one of the 2 repair ID they cancelled belongs to the exact number on the box I sent them yesterday.
so now my Iphone 4 is at the apple place in ontario in a box with a cancelled repair order.
I tried calling apple care support (1h27 min wait ) but no one answered me.
    now i'm realllllly ******,
I'm really thinking getting a refund and buyin any other phone when I finaly talk to someone and get my phone back.
I have alway being a loyal fan (getting an Ipod touche 1st gen costing me 399$ for a 16gig...) and now a broken (and lost) Iphone 4.
    anybody got and idea????
p.s. sorry about my awful english, im from quebec and speak french...

Sorry that you're having a bad time but we're just users like you. You're going to have sort things out with Apple. You might have better luck if you have an English speaking friend help you with the call.
