Cannot access EM console on SOA Suite 11g (404 error)

I have installed SOA Suite 11g on a new environment. The admin server and managed server (soa_server1) start up without any errors in logs. However after start up, I am unable to access the enterprise manager console at http://host:port/em due to 404. Interestingly, I can access the WebLogic administration console at http://host:port/console without any issue.
I have installed SOA Suite 11g before on my local machine and have never had any issue like this before.
Is there a way to manually start up the enterprise manager application? I have seen some advise in previous posts which mention the use of emctl (enterprise manager command line control) however, this does not appear applicable to the em app that runs on WebLogic application server in 11g.
Any troubleshooting advice would be greatly appreciated!

You can access the EM using http://host:7001/em url.
But for EM to be present in the domain, you should have created your domain with Enterprise Manager template selected. I think, you haven't done this step. Login to your WLS Admin Console, navigate to Deployments. Check for an application named 'em'. If it is not there, then this is the issue.
To get your domain extended with EM, do these steps.
1. Stop your servers in the domain.
2. Invoke the configuration wizard ($ORACLE_HOME/common/bin/config.sh/cmd)
3. Choose Extend Domain option. Select your domain.
4. Select Enterprise Manager template. Complete the wizard.
5. Start your servers.
Now you will be able to access EM, using the above URL.
There is no need for emctl in SOA 11gR1. Starting the Admin Server will help you to work in EM.
Hope this helps!!!

"There are no trading partners for this user".
Can someone plesae guide me on how to create a new user for B2B as i dont want to grant adminstrators group to developers.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Please login as the weblogic server boot user into b2bconsole and then go to users tab of the host trading partner
and search for the newly added user [ provide full username ]
and then assign the role as administrator / monitor from there.
once this is done.. the newly added user should be able to login to the b2bconsole..
monitors have read only access and less priveledges..

  • SOA Suite 11g Clustering error/oracle bug ?

Hi, i got several experiment to implement soa suite 11g clustering, in my company.. at this moment we still use development mode in our application server. now i'm trying to get into production and also i want cluster the server.. here is the chronology what i do.
    i got 3 server :
    my plan is
server #1 become an proxy server, let say the name is soa_proxy
server #2 become an cluster node, let say the name is soa_server1
server #3 become an cluster node, let say the name is soa_server2
so i start install & configure it (applications is running under Windows Server 2003)
    1.*soa_proxy*
    - Installing WebLogic server
    - Installing SOA
    - Create Repository with RCU (oracle 10g database)
    2.*soa_server1*
    - Installing WebLogic server
    - Installing SOA
    3.*soa_server2*
    - Installing WebLogic server
    - Installing SOA
after installation finished, then i create domain in soa_proxy server let say it name 'MyDomain', then i assign the soa_server1 and soa_server2 in cluster node named 'MyCluster', also i assign the soa_proxy server as a HTTP Proxy Server.. i'm following the instructions just like this link Link: [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/doc.1111/e13925/config_screens.htm#CJAEABGD]
all the installation seems good, but when i try to deploy my composite application into the proxy server 'soa_proxy' with JDev, i got error like this
    Image: !http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/2122/error2z.jpg!
and when i go to Http://hostname:7001/em
i just see my composite deployed only in 'soa_server2'.
UPDATE : well, now the error was gone when deploying. but we still got little odd result,
when i deploy with jdev, it still fine, until i go to the enterprise manager. yess still.. my composite only deplyed in 'soa_server1'. i got some reference that we can copy the domain directory in soa_proxy and then paste into the server that not yet been deployed before. its seems oke..
i've been thinking, how if i got 10 node of cluster? 50 node of cluster ? should i copy the directory just like that ?? is there another charmed way to do it???
can somebody help me with this simple case?
    regards

    =======
here is my last trial to deploy the cluster environment, then i just got the same issues, our team here think thats the issues causing by oracle bug in code behind. for reminder what i do last experiment
    1. we deploy/configure the domain (admin console, cluster node) then starting up all the services smoothly without no issues & as we saw in the console monitor we can see the cluster is syncronizing.
    2. then we create simple composite.
    3. we try to deploy the composite to the cluster domain, and what we got is the composite only deployed in one cluster node.
let me describe to clear it,
    * first trial, when we deploy the composite, here is what we got in em console
    *[-] SoaInfra (SoaServer1)*
    [+] CompositeLabTest
    *[-] SoaInfra (SoaServer2)*
in JDev we also saw this message (the project CompositeLabTest Deploy Process is skipped), some kind like that
    * second time trial, we try to shut the SoaServer2 down, then restart it, what we got in em console
    *[-] SoaInfra (SoaServer1)*
    [+] CompositeLabTest
    *[-] SoaInfra (SoaServer2)*
    [+] CompositeLabTest
. so until today my soa suite 11g clustering experience is never going good practice.. any of you may had experience with clustering too, how that can be done? please respon...
    thanks

    Hi there.
Me too I have a similar problem with cluster deployment.
I have two different domains in two different phisical machine on the same LAN.
These domains are equals and the sole difference is regarding the IP configuration:
    domain 1
    machine 172.0.0.1
    soaadmin 172.0.0.1
    soa1 172.0.0.2
    soa1 172.0.0.3
    domain 2
    machine 172.0.1.1
    soaadmin 172.0.1.1
    soa1 172.0.1.2
    soa1 172.0.1.3
When I try to deploy a new composite from the EM this fails (it remains in waiting for a response like the followed)
    <Jun 18, 2010 10:42:00 AM CEST> <Warning> <org.apache.myfaces.trinidadinternal.context.RequestContextImpl> <BEA-000000> <Could not find partial trigger idArchiveFileBrowserDialog from RichInputText[UIXEditableFacesBeanImpl, id=idArchiveLoc]>

    Adding sar file - /tmp/dir2448127768139530528tmp/sca_SOAComposite1_rev1.0.jar
Creating HTTP connection to host:172.0.0.2, port:10002
    What I checked:
In multicast configuration soa1 (domain1) sent the request to all soa servers in the LAN (even in that one that aren't configurated in his domain)
In unicast configuration soa1 (domain1) sent the request only to the soa2 (domain1) server but it remain in waiting for a response for all the time.
What it is strange is that if I stop the domain2 the request can be performed and my composite is deployed in both the servers.
Any idea about this strange behaviour?
    N.B.
    I'm not using Coherence.

  • SOA Suite 11g Admin console EM link

I have installed SOA suite 11g onto a windows XP machine with a local loop back network adaptor. When I go to the WebLogic Server Administration Console home page the link for the Oracle Enterprise Manager is picking up the loop back network adaptors IP address (10.10.10.10). This results in the link not working when accessed over the network. I can replace the local IP address with the machine name or DHCP IP address within the browser to work round the issue. However, is there any way to correct this and re-configure the link to use the actual IP address like the other links?
    Regards
    Neil

Another way is to get rid of the Loopback Adapter (ie unconfigure it) and just install it. WLS has no issues with DHCP environments.

    Hello Michael,
I analyzed this issue and found that it is working as designed. Developers templates are designed for low memory hosts and hence certain applications like b2bui, composer, OracleAppsAdapter etc. does not get deployed by default. If a user wants to use these applications then he may target and deploy them manually from Weblogic Admin console.
As these applications may not be required for all users who installed SOA (because SOA installable contains many components of SOA like BPEL, Mediator, Rules, Workflow, B2B and BPM Suite as well and a developer may not be interested in using all these applications), so these apps does not get deployed by default.
For the benefit of other users of this community, I have blogged about the same here where you may also find steps that how to enable these applications -
    http://anuj-dwivedi.blogspot.com/2011/02/b2b-consolesoa-composer-not-opening-up.html
Thanks for bringing this issue up here in this forum.

  • Error while starting the AqAdapter in SOA Suite 11g Admin Console

facing an issue with the AqAdapter(Resource Adapter) in Soa Suite 11g Admin Console.
we go to Deployments --> Select Aq Adapter --> Currently it shows the status as Prepared
Now we try to Start it again --> it comes back with the error message mentioned below
    weblogic.application.ModuleException: weblogic.connector.exception.RAException:
Jndi Name is null or empty. Errors were encountered while performing this operation.
source path on the admin server is mentioned here for this AqAdapter:

    deployment plan :
    /opt101/app/oracle/SOAD/SOA11gR1/fmw/Oracle_SOA1/soa/connectors/was/Plan. xml
We check in the Configuration tab --> Outbound Connection Pools -->
here it shows the Group as javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory and under it we have setup
    2 connection pool instances with JNDI names as : eis/AQ/aqSample & eis/aq/B2BAQ
Could someone please help here as to what could be the reason why this error is coming and
    how we could resolve this.
    With Regards & thanks

This is what we have done :
1.Created the JDBC data source & connection pool as below :
    data source name : B2BAQ , JNDI name : jdbc/B2BAQ
    Connection Pool :
URL : taken from the tns entries of the instance
    Driver Class Name : oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
Tested this connection ..it works fine from the Admin Console
2.Then go to Deployments --> AqAdapter -> Configuration tab --> Outbound Connection Pool Group -->
Create a new connection pool instance -- General tab
    connection interface factory : javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory
    JNDI Name : eis/AQ/B2BAQ
Then in Properties tab : Enter the Data Source Name : jdbc/B2BAQ
Then we try to Start the AqAdapter from the Admin Console..it goes into Prepared status.
The error message which comes is mentioned above.

  • Integration with PeopleSoft Applications Using Oracle SOA Suite 11g BPEL

    Hi,
I'm integrating BPEL with Peoplesoft FSCM 9.0 Application on tools 8.49 using Oracle SOA Suite 11g. The BPEL invokes the web service method generated from Peoplesoft Component Interface in a synchronuos manner.
I have deployed the BPEL in Oracle SOA Suite 11g using Jdeveloper successfully but I have problem in configuring the BPEL node in Peoplesoft side using Oracle SOA Suite 11g(FMW) . I had done the integration of BPEL with Peoplesoft FSCM 9.0 on tools 8.49 using Oracle SOA Suite 10g earlier successfully by configuring BPEL node properties as follows:
BPEL CONSOLE : http://Host Name:8888/BPELConsole (System with Oracle SOA Suite 10g server for deployment)
    BPEL DOMAIN : default
Using this BPEL node configuration, I was able to ping the BPEL console of Oracle SOA Suite 10g from peoplesoft and hence complete the integration successfully.
Now in order to acomplish Business rules and other functionality, the BPEL application has been developed in Oracle SOA Suite 11g using Jdeveloper 11g. This time I'm not able to configure the BPEL node in Peoplesoft for this integration as I'm assuming there is no separate BPEL console in Oracle SOA Suite 11g. All the BPEL deployments are administered in console (11g console used for deployment of BEPL)
http://Host Name:7001/em (System with Oracle SOA Suite 11g server - Fusion Middleware).
So when I Configured the BPEL node property in Peoplesoft as :
BPEL CONSOLE : http://Host Name:7001/em (System with Oracle SOA Suite 11g server for deployment)
    BPEL DOMAIN : default
I'm not able to ping the Peoplesoft BPEL node to the Oracle SOA Suite 11g. Hence I'm not able to proceed with my integration.
When I searched the OTN discussion forum on BPEL console for Oracle SOA Suite 11g, all threads point that there is no separate BPEL console unlike Oracle SOA Suite 10g. Also most of the articles for Integration with Peoplesoft Application using SOA 11g do not state any specific configuration setting for property of Peoplesoft BPEL node in order to integrate with BPEL 11g. The examples published in OTN still point towards screen shots of integration using SOA Suite 10g.
So I'm not able to proceed in this regard.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Girish

    typo error

    Hi,
I found this document from the Oracle Open World 2009 (maybe you have found it too) :
"Integration with PeopleSoft applications using oracle soa suite 11g BPEL" --> [http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/fmw4apps/peoplesoft/pdf/oow2009-bpel-psft.pdf]
And this could be a little more simple, but have a good step-by-step tutorial.
I think you must read this docs by now, but never come amiss.
    Hope this can help you,
By the way, if you can help me with this I'll appreciate it a lot.

  • Change configuration of Admin Server (SOA Suite 11g)

    Hi!
I'm using SOA Suite 11g. I've installed SOA Suite 11g on a remote machine and I want to access the Oracle Fusion Middleware Control remotly but I can't. I can only access locally by launching a browser on the local machine.
How I can configure the admin server to be accessible by another computer?
    Thanks in advance
    Tiago Soares

By default you will be able to access the Admin Console and Fusion Middleware Control from any machine.
    Access like http://hostname:port/em or http://hostname:port/console
If it is a DHCP machine, try accessing using the machine ip, instead of hostname.
If this doesn't work, login to Admin console in your local box. Navigate to Servers -> Admin Server. Set the Listen address to that machine's ip or name, now you will be able to access.

  • Oracle SOA Suite 11g VS BPEL PM 11g

    Hello,
What is the difference between SOA Suite 11g and BPEL Process Manager 11g?
I understand BPEL PM is a component of SOA Suite 11g.
What capabilities does SOA Suite offer more than BPEL Process Manager 11g?
When does a customer choose BPEL PM 11g over SOA Suite 11g? I assume BPEL PM 11g will be less in terms of cost.
    Thanks,
    Ram

    Ram,
What is the difference between SOA Suite 11g and BPEL Process Manager 11g?BPEL Process Manager 11g is a standalone product and it is part of SOA Suite 11g as well. SOA Suite 11g is actually a group of products and it includes -
    Oracle BPEL Process Manager
    Oracle Service Bus
    Mediator
    Oracle Business Activity Monitoring
    Oracle Web Services Manager
    Oracle Business Rules
    Oracle Human Workflow
    Oracle Event Processing
    JDeveloper and ADF
    Adapters
    Oracle Entitlements Server Basic
    Oracle B2B
So you cannot compare SOA Suite with BPEL.
What capabilities does SOA Suite offer more than BPEL Process Manager 11g?Oracle BPEL Process Manager enables enterprises to model, deploy, and manage BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) processes. It includes a BPEL business process modeler, a scalable BPEL run-time engine, an extensible WSDL binding framework, and a monitoring console. So use of BPEL is limited till business process implementation only whereas SOA Suite offers complete middleware SOA solution.
When does a customer choose BPEL PM 11g over SOA Suite 11g? I assume BPEL PM 11g will be less in terms of cost.Yes, if you want to implement BPEL processes only then you can buy only BPEL Process Manager 11g but if you are looking for to implement a complete middleware SOA solution then licensing SOA Suite 11g will be the better option.

  • Problems servicing EJB requests on SOA server. SOA Suite 11g.

    Hi all
I recently installed SOA Suite 11g on my Windows 7 machine for a project that will be employing SOA, BPM and EJB services. I created a new SOA domain with an admin server and a managed SOA server. When creating the domain, I specified BPM Suite, SOA Suite, Enterprise manager, WSM Policy Manager and JRF to be included as per project requirements.
SOA and BPM project have been deployed to and are working fine on the SOA server, but I observed the following odd behaviour when I tried to deploy and use a Java EJB service: -
    1. Via the admin console, I successfully deployed my EJB ear to the managed SOA server and can see it in the JNDI tree of the server.
    2. When I try to invoke the EJB from a remote client, the service is successfully located via JNDI and a request is sent, but it is as though the service then simply swallows the request and does nothing with it. No output is returned from the EJB service and none of the logging from the EJB service appears in the logs. No errors are reported on the console or in any of the Weblogic logs that I have looked through.
    3. I tried deploying the ear to the admin server instead and invoking it with the same client. This time it works absolutely fine.
    4. When messing around with setDomainEnv.cmd, I accidentally removed jrf.jar from the classpath. When the SOA server subsequently started, this caused lots of errors while deploying the SOA components, but my EJB service worked with no problems on the SOA server. When I correcteed the classpath and restarted, the original problem returned.
It seems as though a conflict is occurring, which I am pretty baffled by. I would be very grateful for any advice or suggestions on this issue.
    Many thanks
    Jon

    Hi Jon
I don't know the root cause of this issue. But try this and see if it works. Undeploy this EJB EAR application from weblogic admin console. Then Login into EM Console. And in EM Console, expand weblogic domain and select your soa server under this folder and right click and try to Deploy your EAR. And then access the EJB.
We have some BPM Applications where we have one Workflow project that we deploy from EM Console. This BPM App also have lots of EJB projects. We deploy all of them as single EAR from em console under weblogic domain. So far we have not faced any issues.
    Thanks

  • OracleBAMAdapter Configuration problem in SOA suite 11g

    Hi,
In Oracle SOA suite 11g(11.1.1.2.0), OracleBAMAdapter configuration using WebLogic server console is resulting in the following error
    * An error occurred during activation of changes, please see the log for details.
    * [J2EE:160149]Error while processing library references. Unresolved application library references, defined in weblogic-application.xml: [Extension-Name: oracle.soa.workflow.wc, exact-match: false].
    Steps used for configuration:
    1) Modify adapter configuration using navigation:: Deployments -> OracleBAMAdapter -> Configuration -> Outbound Connection Pools -> oracle.bam.adapter.adc.RMIConnectionFactory -> eis/bam/rmi
    2) Specified connection properties with BAM server port details
    HostName localhost
    InstanceName ADCServer1
    Password welcome1
    PortNumber *9001*
    UserName weblogic
In config.xml (%Domains%/soa_domain/config/) , I could see the following library entry
    <library>
    <name>[email protected]</name>
    <target>AdminServer,soa_server1</target>
    <source-path>K:\OracleFMW\Oracle_SOA/soa/modules/oracle.soa.workflow_11.1.1/oracle.soa.workflow.wc.jar</source-path>
    <security-dd-model>DDOnly</security-dd-model>
    <staging-mode>nostage</staging-mode>
    </library>
Could you please help resolving this issue?
    Regards
    Naveen

I do not think that would qualify as a solution :-). I was negligient in deploying Work Flow Application, and was not deselecting the checkbox in 11.1.1.2.0 JDeveloper, which reads out like "Deploy to all the servers". Thus it was trying to deploy it to BAM server as well as the Admin Server. I had to deselect it. It's pretty mundane thing that I was missing.
    Warm regards.

  • Performance tuning of BPEL processes in SOA Suite 11g

    Hi,
We are working with a customer for performance tuning of SOA Suite 11g, one of the areas is to tune the BPEL processes. I am new to this and started out with stress testing Hello World process using SOAPUI tool. I would like help with the below topics -
    1. How do I interpret the statistics collected during stress testing? Do we have any benchmark set that can indicate that the performance is ok.
    2. Do we need to run stress tests for every BPEL process deployed?
    2. Is there any performance tuning strategy documentation available? Or can anybody share his/her experiences to guide me?
    Thanks in advance!

    2. Do we need to run stress tests for every BPEL process deployed?
yes, you need test each BPEL. You can use "Jmeter" tool.
    Download Jmeter from here: Apache JMeter - Apache JMeter&amp;trade;
    Other tools:
    jstat
    jstack
    jps -v
    Enterprise Manager
    WebLogic Console

  • Is it possible to use SOA Suite 11g with JDeveloper's integrated WebLogic?

Is it possible to use SOA Suite 11g with JDeveloper's integrated WebLogic? Or do you have to install an external WebLogic?
    Thanks for help.

    Hi
By default, NO it is NOT possible to deploy any SOA Applications on Integrated Weblogic Server that comes with JDeveloper. This integrated weblogic server is very light weight basic weblogic server with single domain (only 1 AdminServer) to deploy a standard J2EE, ADF Applications like EJBs, WebApps, WebServices, ADF Apps etc. BUT SOA (having BPEL, BPMs etc ) cannot be deployed.
There is an option to upgrade this integrated weblogic server and install SOA on top of this. Like download soa installer that matches with your JDeveloper version and install soa on top of this weblogic. BUT I strongly do not recommend this, because you will not be able to upgrade iin future to the latest versions.
Yes, its always better to install the standalone Weblogic Server that matches with your JDeveloper version. Then install SOA on top of this Weblogic Server. Then create RCU Schemas in any Oracle Database. Run config wizard and create a SOA Domain. Now integrate this in your JDeveloper to deploy any soa applications.
Make sure that JDeveloper, Weblogic Server, SOA Software, RCU all these versions should match and they should be same.
    Thanks
