Cannot add workset to role

Hello,
I try to create a very simple implementation as described there :
Configuring EP for connecting to SAP R/3
However, when I come to the step 'attach workset to role', I do right click the workset and choose add workset to role but nothing happens and I get a warning in my IE saying 'access refused'.
I guess it is an authorisation issue, but the user I use has been granted all roles available on the portal.
Can somebody help me please?

Hi Julien,
You need to give Permissions on the Workset and Roles folders in Content Admin --> Ur respective workset.
Just right click on the Workset and add the respective user name in the list and then give the proper permissions to him, whether he needs full permission or only Read etc.

Hi there,
The reason why you have file repo is because you installed the AM using file repo instead of LDAP.
Deleting the File Repo configuration for that realm will not affect the configuration part of the AM ( I would still do a backup ... just in case) because the datastore configuration has nothing to do with that. The configuration part of the AM is at the platform level and you have that configured on the configurations tab of the platform. What I'm sugesting is on that specific Realm ( I usually use a different Realm other than the Root realm ... this way I'm sure not to mess it up ) go to the datastores (which is the place where user data is stored and not the configurations (though they might be the same) ) and delete the file datastore configuration (or point it to a different location ... but do not delete the files on the filesystem, because they are still in use by other Realms and the configuration ) .
Configuration data and User repositories can be configured in different places .... which is what you are now trying to do .... have the conf on the file system and have the users on an LDAP.
Defenetly do a backup of your stuff ... and if at all possible use a different realm other than the root realm.

Cannot add print server role

Hi,
I have a server in a Citrix farm where I can't add the print server role. It was no problem on the other servers in the farm.
I get this error: The specified service does not exist as an installed service (0x80070424)
Restarting the server doens't help. Found other with similar problems which referred to this:

You can either try to repair the OS. Or, please check the below links which may help you in fixing Windows module installer service issue. Once Windows module installer service issue is fixed, please run sfc /scannow in elevated command prompt.

This issue also happens in fresh Windows 2012R2 installations, not just upgrades from 2008R2!
I have the issue where I cannot modify any settings on SMB shares. Here is the stacktrace. It appears to be WMI related.

Cannot add objects in the role

Hi,
i have created a role in sap portal, but i cannot see the properties of this role by clicking on properties button in the role editor.
other problem: i cannot add any object in this role, when i open the role and trying to add a page object for example, nothing happened.
Hawever i have an administrator role.

i have created ziview in a folder IVIEW
i have created zrole in a folder ROLE.
i have opened zrole in the role editor and have clicked on zpage to add it in zrole bur nothing happened.
in the role editor i cannot also see the properties by clicking on properties button in role ditor

Cannot add role to CAS

We are have expanded a (2012 r2) primary site into a CAS and would now like to add the asset intelligence synchronization point and reporting services point to the CAS.
When I right-click on the server name under \Administration\Overview\Site Configuration\Servers and Site System Roles there is no option to add site system roles.
I am doing this logged in as a domain administrator who has the 'Full administrator' security role.
If I look under component status and site status everything is green and OK

Yes it was removed from the primary first. There is no option to add any roles to it.
I have been looking through some of the logs and have seen this around once a minute in rcmctrl.log on the CAS:
The current site status: ExpansionFailed.
(On the primary it says 'The current site status: ReplicationActive.')

The account we are using is full administrator in SCCM. It was used to install sccm infrastructure.

Cannot add VM to Cluster

We have have Hyper-V 2012 Cluster with 2 Nodes that runs about 10 VMs, mostly Server 2008 R2 with a few 2012. Cluster storage is and iSCSI SAN with DSS7 from Open-e.
I have a VM that I cannot add to the Cluster. Its Server 2012 that runs Exchange 2013 with about 50 mailboxes. When I go to the Failover Cluster Manager the VM does not show up. I have had no problems adding any other VMs.
I am trying to determine why I cannot add this VM to the Cluster.

Did you try to open
Failover Cluster Manager and run the
High Availability Wizard, choosing the
Virtual Machine Role to "add " the VM to cluster ?

RDS 2012 R2 cannot add 3rd party (parent domain) licensing server

Hi,
I have a RDS 2012 R2 farm and i cannot add a 3rd party licensing server that is in a parent domain (forest root domain - hosted by our corp HQ). I will edit deployment properties for the deployment in the first CB server to add a licensing server in per
user mode. Seemes to work, however no licenses are given to SH servers. Have made GPO aswell to explicitly specify licensing server and mode, however i think this should not be neccessary.
Any ideas?

1. In Server Manager -- RDS -- Overview -- Tasks -- Edit Deployment Properties -- RD Licensing tab, please make sure that the Licensing mode is set to match the type of licenses you purchased, and that the FQDN of your RD Licensing server is listed.
2. In Server Manager -- RDS -- Collections -- <your collection> -- Host Servers, please make sure that your RDSH server is listed. If you have more than one server with the RDSH Role Service in your deployment make sure that all of them are
listed. If they are not you may click Tasks -- Add RD Session Host Servers (make sure the servers are part of the Server Manager server pool prior to this).
3. On Server 1, please open an Administrator PowerShell prompt and enter the following command:
Add-WindowsFeature RDS-Licensing-UI
4. After the above powershell command completes you should be able to open RD Licensing Manager (licmgr.exe) on Server 1 if you need to. Please note that it is more important to have the licensing configured properly in deployment properties and your
RDSH servers part of a collection than it is to be able to open RD Licensing Manager on both of your servers.

And it gave me the error: -

Excuse the incomplete column names. All datatypes are basic ones and there are no constraints defined on any of the columns (dw env). The table is partitioned.

COREid Administrator account cannot add other users

I'm brand new to this product (and to LDAP), so please bear with me...
After installing COREid, I cannot add new users using the admin account I established during installation. I get "You do not have sufficient access rights". I can perform other admin tasks, such as assigning "Master Identity Administrator" role to another existing user. I verified that my admin is also a "Master Identity Administrator". I'm using Sun One Directory Server as my back-end LDAP server. I also verified that the COREid admin account can add other users directly to the LDAP store through the Sun admin console.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Folder vs workset in roles

HI,
I want to assign a set of iviews/pages to a role. I would like to know what is the best practice to add this objects to a role, i.e.
1. To create a role and create folders under this role and add pages/iviews to this folder
2. To create worksets and add pages/iviews to it and finally to add worksets to a role.
should I use worksets/folders under a role. if both can be used, when should i use which one.

Hi Yogi,
if you want to group iViews (for they belong together), you normally create a workset outside a role and add the iViews (as delta links) to the workset and then the workset (as delta link) to the role. This way you can very simply re-use this group in another place instead of putting all iViews again under a role folder.
Role folders are normally only used for building a navigational structure.

Printer communication error and cannot add a new printer

I was happily using my Epson Artisan 810 printer this morning, connected wirelessly to my iMac. All of a sudden I cannot print, get "Communication Error". Checked Epson's website, no luck there. Re-checked my wireless settings on the printer itself and re-confirmed them, it will print test pages from the printer, but still not communicating with the iMac. I thought that removing the printer and then adding it back in might help, but now I cannot add any printer at all.
I resorted to my MacBook Pro, and now have the same problem with this as well.
Any ideas please? What else can I check. My internet and so on are fine. The printer itself shows the wireless icon and says the reception is excellent on the printout it produced.

It would be unusual for only Bonjour to stop working in the printer. The more likely is that the printer is set to a different network subnet to that for your Mac or, as you mentioned, something like a firewall is blocking it.
The IP addressing is the most common cause. If there is a process to view or print the network settings for the Epson, then this will show what IP address range it has, which should be the same as your Mac. With the IP address, there will be four sets of numbers. For a typical home network, the first three sets are known as the IP subnet, while the last set is the network address. For example, a device with an IP address of 10.0.1.5, has an IP subnet of 10.0.1 and a network address of 5. For your Mac to 'see' the printer, both devices would need the same IP subnet, while having a different network address. So if you can check what IP address the Epson has, you may find it is using a different IP subnet to your Mac.

Cannot add shared Contacts in Open Directory from a client

Hello all
I need to transfer vCards from a local Address book to the Server and I need them to be shown in each client's Address book.
*Problem 1:* I cannot add or edit shared contact using the Directory app. from a client to a 10.5.3 Server. Only the Directory Admin credentials are valid. The client 10.5.5 is bound OK. The app is configured to use password, not Kerberos, and the Server is "responding normally" in the Directory Utility application.
I can even login as a mobile user with Network Home. Same there.
*Problem 2:* Ive put in Address Book the correct LDAP settings, but I cannot see a catalog of vCards. If I search using the search field, I get results, but I need them to be shown all as catalog.

This turned out to be a reverse DNS configuration problem. Apple support suggested using a local ip address instead of my public host name. That worked so I looked into the reverse dns configuration. I fooled myself by thinking that if I could reach my host with my.host.com with other services like http, that my DNS was set up correctly. My reverse DNS originally resolved to my.host.com when it should have been something more like 123-456-789-103.cos.pcisys.net. Now I can reach my host from anywhere with the Directory application.

Open AirPort Utility. The first screen looks something like this:
Click on the AirPort Extreme and another screen will appear. Click Edit, then the window with the Wireless tab will appear.
If you do not see these screens, you will need to start over and configure your AirPort again.
