  • Activating Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional on new computer when old computer died and cannot deactivate

My computer died with acrobat professional 8 installed. When I tried to install and activate acrobat 8 professional on my new computer, it would not activate until I deactivated the software on my old computer. My old computer is completely dead and therefore I cannot deactivate the software. Please advise me.

Customer service is terrible. They don't give us the tools to help ourselves, so we are FORCED to call their service number. Then we get transferred 3 times, then disconnected - just to have to repeat the process again. Adobe recorded phone messages advises "due to high call volume, estimated wait time is 12 minutes". An HOUR AND A HALF later while still waiting on hold, I get disconnected.
I've tried the customer portal. They CLOSED my case without resloving anything or even commenting!
Where is Adobe's accountability?  They don't mind charging high prices for their products, and they certainly wouldn't accept me telling them they'll have to call my 800# and wait on hold in order to get their payment. But once we purchase their products we are a prisoner of this process. There is no web interface to deactivate products. Hard drive crashes do not permit the manual deactivation on our end.
Adobe needs to either answer their phone without disconnecting me, answer their case number number without closing it for no reason, or give us - the customer - the tools to deactivate our own products. If activation can be done over the internet upon installation - then deactivation can't be much more difficult.
I honestly can't imagine how it can be legal to sell a product then cripple an owner from using it.

  • My computer with a licensed copy of CS4 died. I want to install it on my new computer. I cannot deactivate CS4 on my old computer, because it no longer runs, and I no longer have it.

I want to install my licensed copy of CS4 (from the CD--Windows version) onto a new computer that I recently purchased. My OLD computer died in July.  I cannot deactivate the CS4 software on that computer. It has now been gutted (because a local tech guy was trying to fix it, but he couldn't) and I no longer even have the computer. So I would like to transfer that license to my new computer.
I have been able to "install" the software from the CD, but it doesn't completely "work". It looked like everything was OK initially but it won't recognize certain keystrokes, etc. and is not functional, which I figure is the software's way of saying "too many installs on this license."
So now what do I do...is there any way I can get "permission" to install this so it will work?

I doubt the license is affecting the performance - it might be a case of the software being too old for the machine.
In any case, you can contact Adobe support thru chat and have them reset your activation count to eliminatre your doubts regarding the license.

    Hi Terry,
I have checked the serial number and found that you have sufficient activation count left to install it on 2 computers.
Please uninstall the software and activate it on the other machine. In case of issues please let me know and I will help you.

  • I cannot uninstall Elements 13, (nor open  it).  It has made a disaster of my previously working cmputer

    I cannot uninstall elements 13.

try this program Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall probl…That will remove ALL parts of the program
I sort of feel there is some sort of drama between the old elements program and the new one.

  • Error:Cannot remove element with nonexisting ID

Hi all, I am following this wiki to add custom fields to family info page: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/profile/2007/07/17/enhanceStandardESSPersonalInformationUIwithout+modification&
when I added the custom fields and clicked Ok, I got this error below:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: View: Cannot remove element with nonexisting ID "_CustomExtensionLabel_bizcard_5f_1_23_InfotypeList_2e_Zzareacode" of type com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.uielib.standard.impl.Label
I saw a few messages with this error, but no solutions.
    Any help?
    thanks, Rohit

    Hello Rohit,
the personalization is not the correct way of adding the custom fields in the Portal. You would
have to add the custom fields from NWDS (Netweaver Development Studio)
You can find a document in SDN  through which you would be able to add the field in the Portal.
Web dynpro personalization is for hiding the fields, changing labels, and lots more.
If you are looking to change overview screen that can be personalized with table V_T7XSSPERBIZFLC. If you cannot see any standard field in overview screen, as per the customizing in mentioned table.
    Best Regards,
    Deepak..

Supriya Bhat: But the product for which you need help is no longer supported on chat
Supriya Bhat: so i will have to please guide you to forums.adobe.com
kevin starr: Unless the forums can help me with a SN# trouble it will be a waist of time

So it is a circle they send me here you send me there.  I did find this.......
I cannot access my previous computer
Don't have access to your previous computer? Did you upgrade your computer's hardware, replace a hard drive, upgrade your operating system, or format your computer before deactivating your software? Ask Adobe Support to help you deactivate from a machine you cannot access.
Have your serial number or Adobe ID ready, and then contact us.
Now the "Contact us" part is the tricky thing. I am going on 5 hours trying.

  • Cannot deactivate "Sleep and charge" option

I cannot deactivate the "Sleep and charge" option. I do not need it and it perturbs the functioning of my scanner. Apparently one should have two types of USB ports: ones with the "lightening" sign (used for the "Sleep..." options) and normal ones. I have on the left of my Satellite laptop two black ports and on the right two blue ports.
I cannot find the "lightening" sign anywhere and the Sleep ..." icon appears every time I plug in the scanner; this happens for all 4 ports. I have entered the "Sleep..." Set up menu and try to deactivate this option but it does not work. I have tried to uninstall the "Sleep..." option, but it does not appear on the list of programs one can uninstall.
One should be able to eliminate completely options that one does not need, but I cannot manage it.
    Dan

    Hi Dan
Sleep and charge option can be disabled in BIOS settings. Have you tried to do this already?
