Cannot Reinstall Creative Suite 5
I have Windows 7 on a PC and cannot seem to reinstall my Creative Suite no matter what I try. I ran the uninstaller, also the so called "clean uninstaller", deleted adobe files that were associated with the program, before trying to reinstall. Can someone look at the list below to see if I'm missing something? It may be my windows installer, but it may not. Any help will be appreciated.

After wiping my hard drive, I cannot reinstall creative suite from disc. Keeps asking for serial number of my previous version. Unfortunately this number is from version 1, not listed in the choices offered. Do I need to reload 1 and then upgrade with 4, which is the version I have.

I cannot install Creative Suite 5.5 on my Windows 7 Professional. I keep getting error message: "Exit Code: 15 - Media DB sync failed". I have disabled UAC and Startup items and Services with no luck. Can you please help?

You are welcome to post any specific errors you are able to discover within your installation log to this discussion. Since you are using Windows then Exit Code 15 could mean one of the following:
Installer database is corrupted
Update pending to your operating system
Improper permissions set for the Media.db
The installation log file should provide additional insight into the exact error you are experiencing. Please make sure to use the find command to look for the words 'ERROR' and 'FATAL' to locate the relevant error messages. -

Cannot unistall creative suite 2
I have just installed the new cs5 programs, so I would like to get rid of the old cs2 versions that are on my computer. The creative suite 2 was never fully installed due to some errors, but the programs still appear in the adobe folder and they still try to open even when I am trying to open the new cs5 version. I tried going to "uninstall program" in the control panel, but when I click on "uninstall/change creative suite 2," I get the following message:
"Installation cannot continue until all adobe creative suite applications are fully closed. This includes adobe acrobat, which may be running in the background. Please close all your applications and restart your computer to continue with installation."
Acrobat is never running when this prompt comes up, and I have tried restarting the computer to no avail. I also get the same prompt when I try to finish fully installing the creative suite 2 software. I am at an impasse. Any help would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks.All Adobe products (Flash, Acrobat/Reader, Photoshop, Creative Suites, etc.) leave a VERY pervasive footprint on your hard drive. Addobe Cleaner Tool only works for CS 3 and newer; do not know how effective MS Cleanup Tool is. Here is a way to manually clean everything up. I did this 4 weeks ago and everything works flawlessly now.
SOLUTION (not easy, but it works):
Before doing anything, make document and any database/presets/cache back-ups beforehand (keep notes on their designated location*); manually create a System Restore point. (Be prepared to restore or reinstall Windows if necessary - I did not have to do either.)
Completely and meticulously eradicate (clean) your hard drive of ALL Adobe programs [uninstall, remove remaining folders, and remove only the registry entries that have the Adobe name attached (unless you are an expert and fully understand the other entries)]. Do a Custom/Manual reinstall of all your Adobe products *in order of release dates* (OLDEST first).... do not include Reader, Flash, etc. If your CD will not automatically run at this point, click "Open folder to view files" (use Computer/Windows Explorer, if necessary). Click "Adobe Creative Suite (or your desired program) ==> Setup.exe" (IMPORTANT: Make sure that Reader, Flash, etc. are unchecked.)
After each of your desired Adobe programs are installed, test to insure they boot up. Then download the latest Reader, Flash, etc. apps and install them (I did this in order of release date - oldest first). Do test boot(s) again.
Copy/Paste your document and any database/presets/cache back-ups into the appropriate folders (*this will vary depending on your programs and your filing system). -

Trying to Reinstall Creative Suite 5
I had Adobe Creative Suite 5 installed on my computer several years ago. Recently the Apple Store erased my computer in an attempt to correct an error. I was told all woud be restored from Time Machine. After the restore from TM, only the Adobe icons were present but no actual programs. I was then told by the Apple Store employees that the installation disks would recognize my computer and reinstalling would be simple.
I first inserted the Acrobat 9 Pro disk. I was asked if I wanted to reinstall and replace what was already present. I said yes. It appeared to be successful.
Then I inserted the Design Standard disk which has asked for my serial number. I have typed in the number that I believe is the SN off the packaging. But there is no response and no option to proceed. That box remains grey with no option to go to the next step.
Can you please help me with this?
As you may have already figured out, I am not terribly computer savvy. So please speak slowly and in small untechy words. LOL!

The computer repair shop destroyed my old computer when they attempted to replace the fan. They tell me the motherboard is shot and they are buying me a new computer. I need to know how to reinstall on the new computer the Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard Student and Teacher edition that was loaded on the now broken computer.

Thanks for getting back to me. I am not sure if you understood my
situation. What I needed was to contact Adobe customer support so that they
could deactivate the CS6 on my broken computer. The problem I had, and you
might want to address this as part of Adobe customer service moving
forward, is that there is no way to contact customer service for issues
with CS6. The only support option allowed on your website is to post a
question in the Forum.
If you follow the link you sent me to Adobe customer service, and believe
me I did, you will be taken to a page that will ask you for some
information about your product first. Once you go thru the series of
questions and windows, you reach a page that tells you that your only
support option is the Forum. It will literally not allow you to initiate a
chat session!
I finally found that their is a small statement at the bottom of the page
from your company president saying that customer service is important to
him and to let him know how Adobe is doing. By clicking on that link I was
able to send an email and within a few hours a customer service rep named,
Sandeep Singh, responded to me and told me that he had increased my
activation count so that I could reload CS6 on my new computer.
Given that the average computer lasts 3 to 6 years and that Adobe products
are quite expensive, their should be some way for your customers to contact
customer service directly without the need to navigate through a system
designed to make it nearly impossible to contact someone. This kind of
support should be available for at least as long as one might reasonably be
expected to use your product, say 5 years.
In contrast to this difficult experience, I also contacted Microsoft
yesterday for help with transferring software from my broken computer to
the replacement. It was extremely easy! I went to their customer service
site answered a few questions and was presented with the option of either
chatting with a rep or having one call me. I chose call and withing 5
minutes someone called me and helped me with my issue. They even sent me an
email confirming the resolution with a case number.
This process has really made me wonder why Adobe has chosen to offer such
limited and deliberately difficult customer service. I hope these comments
can help you address these issues internally so that Adobe can improve its
customer service experience.
