Cannot update subject or description unless email is in draft status

Question

Does anyone had workaround with this? 
it will happen when i try to send a reply from CRM

Did you set the concurrency property on the rowset to be CONCUR_UPDATEABLE?
Also, just to make sure, I assume you are not operating on a rowset bound to a datatable? (You should only operate on a dataModel when you are using a datatable)

Note that if you are binding textfields to the rowset, that essentially does the updateStrings automatically - in the tutorial you'll notice we use updateObject (essentially the same as your updateString) in the constructor to setup default values etc - but that's not required.
