Cannot view or print data in fillable form fields

I created a fillable form and users complete the form and email back to me.  For some, but not all, users, when I get their form, the data in the fields is not visible unless I click on field.  At first I thought they emailed me a blank form, but when I click on the field the data they entered is visible. Data doesn't print either.
Can I fix the form once they send it to me or do I need to adjust the original fillable pdf? Thanks in advance.

Most likely it's due to corruption caused by the Preview application on the Mac when it saves PDF forms. For more information and something you can do about a corrupted form, see: http://kb2.adobe.com/community/publishing/885/cpsid_88564.html

It's best to get the easyJet app for iOS rather than trying to view or print the PDF version of your boarding pass.

  • Defining fillable form fields in IDCS4

    2 questions:
Is it possible to define fillable form fields in ID that will export to PDF?I create a lot of custom proposals and would like to avoid having to define the fields over and over again in Acrobat.
Also, some clients tell me that they can't fill in the form with Acrobat Reader. When I enable the PDF for commenting in reader, all the form fields disappear, except, oddly, for the signature field. Using Acrobat Pro 9.2. Help with this will also be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    1. No. But the auto form creation tools in Acrobat are excellent.
    2. Don't make the form commentable. By using the distribute form command in
    Acrobat everything is done automatically.

  • Fillable Form field in PDF

    Hello All,
I'm new to all things Oracle, and I'm not even sure if this is posible. I am using Application Express 3.1 and I'm trying to create a report that prints to PDF with fillable form fields. I am using RTF templates to create the layouts. I can get the PDF to publish with the information from the database, but I want to have extra fields in the PDF that the end user can type more information into before they print / save / send the PDF.
So, Like a normal PDF, you can create a fillable form in it, but can you have the same results using the RTF templates? And if not, can anyone point me in the right direction for this? My SA's have changed all the settings in the BI Admin interface thing (they wont let me touch it) so that everything says its editable, but I can not even get this to work on my local machine using the BI Publisher Template Viewer.

Once you have edited the artwork re-save as pdf. Open your fillable form field pdf and choose Document - "replace form". Choose the NEW pdf and you should have the old fields with the new artwork.

I have a user that can not add a space in a fillable form field. They are using Adobe reader XI. Others can add the spaces needed to add data to the form fields. I have verified that Scroll log text is enabled. Any idea?

  • Fillable form fields for an Employee Performance Review ?

So i've designed our Employee Perfomance Review in InDesign, exported the PDF and created form fields in Acrobat 9. The goal is to have a PDF that contains fillable form fields for our yearly reviews that can be filled out, saved, and re-opened and edited again in Adobe Reader. They will need to be edited by several people from different computers.
The problem i'm running into is this: Each employee will have at least two supervisors contributing to their reviews. So, this form needs to be able to be edited by one person and saved, then forwarded to the next person who would in turn add their comments. The second reviewer would then save their information, send it back to the first reviewer, who would finalize the document, save it digitally and print it out so we would have a hard copy.
The main goal is to have a document that can be passed back and forth and remain editable.
I can use the Distribute Form option in Acrobat, but this information needs to be accessable by the completer of the form and HR only, and not myself. Using Distribute form would require HR to purchase a version of Acrobat to distribute the forms and access the information...either that or they would have to use my computer to distribute the form and recieve responses. This still doesn't solve my main problem. From everything I have seen, the distributed forms can only be submitted, and not saved or passed around.
If the PDF is sent out as an attachment, it can be filled out and printed to PDF to save it digitally, but it can't be edited again in Reader.
I'm looking for a way to utilize Acrobat for this, and not resort to using Word or some other program. The reason we upgraded to Acrobat 9 in the first place was because we thought it would make this process work. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    aaardvrk

Thanks. It looks like we're covered under 15.12.3(b) since this document will only be distributed to about 10 supervisors. I interpret this to mean that we can use this document as many times as we like as long as the total number of Users (supervisors) doesn't exceed 500.
"For any unique Extended Documnent, you may either (a)... ; or (b) Deploy such Extended Document to no more than five hundred (500) unique recipients without limits on the number of times you may extract information from such Extended Document returned to you filled-in by such Recipients."
    Thanks again.

  • Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional-Fillable Form Fields Disappeared

Urgent Reply Needed --- After spending from 3 hours creating Fillable Form Fields - which I have done many times - the most recent form I just completed had all forms fields except one missing when I reopened the Adobe Acrobat document. How did this happen? How can I prevent it happening again as I have never seen this happen before?

    Bonnie,

  • Adobe Reader 9.4  won't allow saving-copying-printing of data entered into form fields.

Hello, all.  I own a fully automated Continuing Education website with a national customer base.  The release of Adobe Reader 9.4 has brought a major problem for us which we haven't been able to overcome, and it's a critical issue which will destroy our business if the problem continues.
The problem:  Our professionally licensed website users earn online, instantly downloadable Continuing Education certificates in PDF file format, which are auto-generated by our software program when the user has successfully completed a course and its quiz.
Each certificate is a template created by Adobe Acrobat Pro 6 which contains the boilerplate course goals, credit hours earned for the course, plus all of our educational approval numbers needed to conduct business in each state.  THE PROBLEM HERE is that these generated certificates ALSO have form fields which are auto-completed by our system when the user successfully completes his or her course - i.e., the user's name, his license number, and the date and hour and minute of completion.  Until some of our customers began to use Adobe Reader 9.4 on their PC this past week, the certificate generation process has performed flawlessly - for over 3 years now, for over a thousand customers - the only exception being the  occasional MAC user who needs to download the correct version of Adobe Reader, and to use the correct browser.
Beginning last week, site users who have downloaded 9.4 can no longer SAVE their Continuing Education certificates to their computer with their name, license and date and time of completion showing on the certificate.   And they can't even print the certificate correctly - their name, license, and date of completion appear as blank lines.  They can't download or email the certificate with the critical form field data showing on the document. This is a devastating situation for our business and for the users - who certainly won't return, and are demanding refunds.
In fact, I (who installed 9.4 last week) discovered that I can't even download and save an intact copy of a customer's certificate from my own website, OR copy and paste information from a client's generated certificate in order to manually create a certificate for him or her.  The on-screen message tells me that I am not allowed to do this with this document .... despite the fact that I was the creator of the document. Needless to say, when I un-installed 9.4, I had none of these problems.
Customers wouldn't have problems either if they uninstalled 9.4 - but you can't tell customers who call in to complain, to uninstall their Adobe Reader program and find something else.  They also have to use Adobe Reader to view over half of the courses we offer, and they need to be able to work with them effectively with no problems.
In the past, because of occasional Adobe Reader problems of a different sort, we could tell customers to use Foxit or Nitro PDF if they had Adobe issues.  But that was back in the day when there was no competition in running an online CE website.  Now there is plenty of competition, and customers will just go elsewhere before they will try to reconfigure their computer just to stay with our site.
I will bet that hundreds (thousands?) of other online businesses who work with system-generated form fields in PDF documents have been similarly affected.
Is there a solution here?  Surely this was an UNINTENDED result of  Adobe's upgrade to 9.4.   Is there something that we can do at our end to eliminate these issues?  There are NO security protections or limitations imposed on these certificate documents.  And we CANNOT eliminate the form fields that are filled internally when the customer passes t the course.  Date and time of completion and all the rest are required by all of the States which license us.  Many thanks!

    That was it!
    Thanks

  • How do you print data from a form?

From the interactive report, there's a built in function to print to variious formats (e.g., PDF, CSV, etc).
As long as the columns do not exceed the width of a page, it's okay.
But what I want to do is when a user clicks on 'edit' from the interactive report and displays the data entry screen, I want to be able to have a 'Print' button to print the data from a form.
Don't want to manually modify the URL to change a parameter to print.
Really appreciate any help I can get on this matter!!!

I want to be able to have a 'Print' button to print the data from a form.Create a Print button in the form page with an <tt>onclick</tt> attribute that calls the method<tt>print()</tt> method:
    onclick="window.print();"
Don't want to manually modify the URL to change a parameter to print. Sounds like you want to be able to control which page elements are printed and how they are formatted?
This is quite straightforward using a print media style sheet.
You'll need to identify CSS selectors (usually IDs and classes) from the page HTML for the components and regions that are not to be printed: a web inspector such as that found in Safari, or the Firefox+Firebug combo is useful for this. It's also a good idea to give all of your regions a unique static region ID to assist with this identification. Using this information, you can construct the style sheet to exclude all of the unwanted content using <tt>display: none</tt> rules.
In a simplified example, say you identify that there are 4 regions on the page, and you only want to print region 3. You would add the following style sheet to the page HTML Header:
    <style type="text/css" media="print">
    #region-1, #region-2, #region-4 {
      display: none;
</style>+{message:id=2475831}+ is a solution to a similar problem, and see this article for more enhancements that can be included in your print style sheet.
Really appreciate any help I can get on this matter!!!You'll get effective help more quickly if you include the following information upfront when posting a question. This enables others to understand, replicate and determine the most appropriate fix without wasting time asking all kinds of supplementary questions:
    - APEX version
    - DB version and edition
    - Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener)
    - Browser(s)/version(s) used
    - Theme used
    - Templates used

  • Why can't users save data in fillable form created in Adobe Acrobat X Pro?

I have created a fillable pdf form in Adobe Acrobat X Pro and have everything working great.  When I send it to users they can fill in all of the information, but they can not save the data in the form.  I have followed these instructions before I send the form to the users:  (Acrobat Pro) Type in non-fillable forms (File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features.
The form includes text fields, radio buttons, e-signatures (x).
I have researched for days, spoke to countless "Adobe Chat Room Techs" and still have no idea what I am doing wrong.
I am so desperate for help.  Any advice would be appreciated.

I've created a form in LiveCycle Designer & Acrobat X, and saved it.
However, when I open it up with Adobe Reader XI, I get the following message
    What am I doing wrong?
This used to be a relatively simple process, and now I'm completely confused with how I enable saving forms that others have filled out.
If I'm understanding what has been written in this thread previously, this is now normal functionality that doesn't require special settings like it had previously.
Some help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello friends ,
I am doing form for the HR . Is there any special formatting needed to print the date on the form . I am doing this .
&t_payment-paydate& in the main window of the form .
t_payment is the table and paydate the date of payment . But instead of printing 1/22/2006 . It is printing 3//20/07/2 some junk value . Is it the format related problem ?
Any suggestions . You help would be greatly appreciated .
    Regards & Thanks ,
    Hari

    HI,
    You can do like this.
You make the following changes in the program
    1. Define a character type field
         data: v_payment_date(10) type c.
    2.  Assign the date value to the character field
          write t_payment-paydate to v_payment_date.
You make the following changes in your sapscript text element.
instead of using field t_payment-paydate use v_payment_date.
    Thanks

  • Automate Printing of a fillable form using Adobe reader

I am working on a project to automate the reporting of enrollment confirmations, etc. in a national service.
I have written a C# program that connectd to a national service organization from a client machine and enrolls people as needed.
Occasionally , a list of names along with enrollment status, etc - is downloaded to the machine.
I am using ES Desiner and Adobe pro 9.0 to maintain some simple PDF forms that a C# program is filling out as each form is inspected, etc.
This currently works fine - printing one form on demand as needed.
I would like to move ahead one step in the automation sequence and allow the user to select which files to print from a list of files available and allow the program to simply fill out the form as needed - (it is already doing this) and print to the current default printer.
it is my understanding that this is possible using the SDK and the standard reader - but I am having some difficulty in finding out just how to go about it.
Can you please direct me to where I would begin learning how to do this using the SDK and the adobe reader ?

When i say : ("it is already doing this"), I mean that the C# program is already pre-filling a form - when the file is selected and the user loads the data to the form and it is being printed when the user decides to press the print button.
I would like to automate this sequence for the user so he/she doesn't have to do it manually , and doesn't have to do it one at a time - as it is done now -
I have been told that this is possible using the SDK and adobe reader but it is not exactly documented in a way that i can identify .
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

  • PDF- paex page data to pdf form fields

Just want to find out if anybody can help me out with this -- without using BI Publisher:
I have several pdf letters that are pdf fillable. What needs to be done is from an APEX page:
    1. user search for client id
    2. find and selects the client id. Hidden fields for this would be the client's fullname, address, citystatezip, workername, workerphone, workerlocation, workersupervisor, workersupervisorphone, clientid.
    3. select the letter category: CAT1, CAT2, CAT3, CAT4 . I have a letters_table in oracle and have a category field in there. Will create an LOV for this category as a radiobutton. User will select the letter category.
    4. Based on the letter category selected, a list of letters will appear or posted in the page.
    5. User will then select the letter or (letters) by checkbox from the report listing of letters.
    6. Letters in PDF template format will print with the hidden fields printed on them.
Any idea how to do this? Already created a page for the user to search the client id. So steps 1 and 2 is done.
Need ideas and help with the rest....
Can you link the fields in a page into a PDF fillable form? The PDF forms reside in our intranet server.
I do not have BI Publisher and the deadline for me for this project is Friday April 24.... so appreciate ideas!
    Thanks! ?:|

There was/is a sample application for html-db 1.5/6 that was called mailmerge.. It allowed you to do a mailmerge document in WOrdpad with Oracle data.. The rtf file would be stored in a table in your schema and you would run code against it to look for filler characters that would be replaced with your data..
It has limitations, you might want to go and download it and see what you think..

  • Saving fillable form fields to be created as a template

Hi, I'm hoping someone can tell me if Adobe Acrobat Pro 8/9/10 has the option to save all Fillable Data fields such as Text Fields, Check Boxes, Signatures, Dates ect. and save these data elements to be imported onto similar or exact PDF Layouts so that it can save me the time to insert every single one of these data fields, draw each field neatly, then name each field into their locations on the form. So basically what I'm seeking is similar to LiveCycle where you can 'select all' and then save all the inserted data as a template. I'm really trying to stay away from LiveCycle so I'm hoping Adobe Acrobat can achieve this. I've done extensive research and have only come up with 'replacing pages' so basically the pdf would be inserted 'under' the fillable data field layers. Another thing I have come up with is simply select all Data Fields and copy and pasting these onto the PDF, which works nicely, but this requires a copy of the PDF. Hope this makes sense! Thanks!

I think that George's point is that the Replace Pages functionality would seem to do exactly what you want. You would copy the form you call a template (whether this can be done with templates directly I do not know), open it, then use replace pages to insert the new form you have. The fields that were part of the "template" are retained, but the basic page displayed would be of the new file. You could then move the form fields around to where you want them. If that is not what you want to do, then more of an explanation would help -- but it seems like what you are asking and what George was implying. As to the direct use of a template I can not answer that one since I do not use templates. It may be that you can define a template as the basic form with the fields you want -- but you may know more about templates than I do.
