Cannot watch movie in APPLE TV after I added it to itunes

I bought a movie with a digital copy (Transformers: Dark of the Moon) I added in itunes, I try to play it on Apple TV it says "You did not buy this item, You cannot redownload Transformers: dark of the MOON" I can play the movie on my computer in Itunes? I added alot of other movies the same day and I dont have a problem with anyother movie that I added to Itunes and playing on Apple TV

Welcome to the Apple Community.
No, if you rent a movie on anything other than your computer it can only be watched on that device. If you want to watch it on multiple devices, rent it on the computer then it can be transferred between devices, but can't be moved to more than one device at a time.

Why I cannot watch movies from Love film on my apple tv? The app is on my iPad and when I switch the movie from iPad to AppleTv only sound is on my TV screen and no picture.

Many online media providers block this - Sky and Amazon Prime do too I believe.
I would have to assume that the app providers cannot offer video Airplay for contractual reasons with the movie studios though it may just be they don;t want to enable their apps to do so.
It's not Apple preventing this, while you could see it would be in Apple's interest to push people to the iTunes store for media it could also drive people away.

Are you sure you bought and not rented them?  Renting lets you to access the video for up to 48 hours.

I am running Lion and QuickTime version 10.1 (501)
Your original post does not make it clear where your films came from and therefore what format they are in. If they are not from the iTunes Store and have come from various other sources they may be in formats that QuickTime 10.1 (aka. QuickTime X) cannot itself understand.
It is possible however to install QuickTime Player 7 under Lion which understandard more 'older' formats, and then add various codecs to it to allow it to play many other formats that QuickTime X does not understand. The following downloads would probably be useful to you.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Yes, so long as the movies on your time capsule are part of your iTunes library and iTunes is running on your computer.

Will VPP Codes be able to be reused?  From iTunes - No.
Can I restore to a backup made in iTunes?  You can back up an iPad that was set up in iTunes in Configurator and use that as back up in Configurator.

  • Playing movies on Apple TV after buying them with my laptop vs my desktop

Ok, I have learned something about iTunes/Apple TV and purchasing media content at the iTunes store. This may help someone. I bought the movie Push using my Mac laptop and with the latest version of iTunes that allows you to share libraries so you can copy from one computer to the other one I copied the movie back to my desktop PC. Then, I synced the movie to the Apple TV. Well, last night I wanted to watch the movie on my TV using my Apple TV and guess what? It wouldn’t let me! It said that my Apple TV was not authorized to play that movie, and I went huh? Why not!?
Well I learned that the movies I purchase using another computer and not my PC (main computer) cannot play on Apple TV unless I add the other computer’s library to the Apple TV. So basically I went to the menu on the Apple TV and under settings I added the new library. I had to open iTunes on my Mac and under devices I clicked on the Apple TV and entered the code that the Apple TV gave me. And then I could watch the movie I bought using my Mac!
I still have a problem with this though, in order to watch the movie or movies I buy using my Mac, I actually have to have the Mac on, otherwise the option “Shared Movies” on the Apple TV menu is gone.
Does anyone know how to go around this? I want to be able to watch movies without turning on my laptop. I know one solution will be to download them to my PC, but when I am traveling I could download a movie or 2 and watch them when I come home.
    Thanks!

I will try that, however, it seems to me that the only way I will be able to do this is by having my Mac turned on. I don’t know I just have the funny feeling, we’ll see.
you'd need the mac on to put the movie on to the appletv anyway surely.

  • So... I cannot watch movie on DVD on my HDTV?

With a cable from my MacBook to my HDTV, I can watch a movie on DVD or anything that I  to pull up the MacBook.  Now, unless I am wrong, I cannot use the setup Apple TV instead of the cable?   Reading over what Apple says about the Apple TV, I thought it would be possible to do this, but now, with the Apple TV setup, it looks like I am limited to what Apple wants me to see - YouTube, NetFlix, movies rented from iTunes and not too much more. Especially not TV shows that are on the Internet pages of TV stationss or DVDs.   That is a so big a surprise and disappointment because the cable is a a nuisance and did not carry the audio, which I had to use another cable or to speakers or use the MacBooks speakers. Did I read the product information completely wrong or what?
If I am all wrong with this, please tell me how to do this. Thanks.

    Yes and no.
AppleTV is limited in the formats it can play natively but very recent Macs (post 2011) running Montain Lion have the ability to Airplay the screen to the AppleTV - that still doesn't work for Apple's DVD player though as it won't mirror protected content.
You could try Airparrot (which has mixed reviews) to do Airplay in software.
VLC might allow Airplay of a DVD.
If you have non-protected video you could convert it to h264 format and add to iTunes, but we cannot discuss circumventing commerical DVD protection.

  • Cannot watch movies from amazon downloaded new flash

i have down loaded and uninstalled three times i still cannot get it to work or watch movies on amazon i have a 64 bit windows 7 laptop why is it doing this please help

    Hello,
Just chiming in to say that I am experiencing the same issues.
    using Win 7, Firefox 19.0, Flash 11.6.602.168
Tried the DRM fix listed above,
Tried uninstalling Firefox and Flash, restarting Win 7, reinstalling Firefox and Flash
Tried reinstalling display and my NVidia drivers.
Still getting "Sorry we were unable to stream this video" message.
    Also having problems on Chrome.
Some troubleshooting threads suggest to go to chrome://plugins and disable the chrome flash player.
When i disable the chrome flash player and try to play an amazon instant video, I get the "Sorry we were unable to stream this video" message.
When i disable the system flash player and try to play an amazon instant video, the video plays but 'stutters.'  The audio is fine, but the video alternately pauses and plays for a second or two over and over again.
AIV works just fine on my iPad.
For everyone viewing, please take 30 secs to create an account and let Adobe know that their product is causing problems for your Amazon service.
This needs to get fixed asap!
    Thanks
    V.
