Canon mg6150 printer won't print with word on my macbook air

I have a Macbook air and my printer is a canon 6150.
When I go to print it doesn't always print out properly when I am using word and adobe pdf files. It seems to print ok when I open documents in preview.
I have been on the phone to canon and reinstalled the printer drivers and tested the printer by doing a colour copy and printing on my phone. Both of these work. As these work the cannon dude says its something to do with the setting in my computer rather than an issue with the printer.
What do I do now?

Hi cjvandeveer, The Windows 7 operating system has a mini-driver built-in for the printer. You can plug in the USB cable of printer into the computer and then turn the printer on. If Windows 7 automatically recognizes the printer, it will appear in your DEVICES AND PRINTERS window, and you will be able to print. You will then need to download the Windows 7 printer driver add-on module from our website. The add-on module will give the printer its full capability, but only after the printer is already recognized by Windows 7. First, to see if Windows recognizes your printer, please follow these steps: 1. Plug in the printer's USB cable into the computer and then turn on the printer. 2. Go to your START MENU on the computer and select DEVICES AND PRINTERS. 3. See if your printer is located in the DEVICES AND PRINTERS window. If it is not, we may need to run Windows Update on your computer in order for the printer to be initially recognized. Please follow these steps to install the latest driver for your printer from Windows Update: 1. Turn the printer on and ensure it is connected to the computer with the USB cable. Please note that your computer will also need to be connected to the internet before performing the next step. 2. Hi! I have a Canon laser printer LBP7750C and a Mac Book Air with OS X 1.8.4, but I can't get it to function. After installning the printer, via Ethernet network (Apple Time Capsule) and IP-number, it seems to connects ok but can't print. Anyone has a solution or tip? Thanks!

One possible cause for your symptom is the printer driver you are using. If you have installed the Postscript (PS) driver but your LPB7750 does not have the PS kit installed, then this can stop a document from printing. So I would suggest you download and install the UFR2 v10.10 driver.
If you are using the UFR2 driver then the other cause for this symptom is the IP protocol. This driver and the PS driver must be configured using the LPD protocol. If you have selected IPP or HP Jetdirect when creating the print queue, then this will stop you from printing. So remove the printer from Print & Scan and add it again, this time selecting LPD for the protocol.
Another cause can be you have the wrong IP address. To check that the address is correct, type the IP address into a web browser. This will result in a connection to the internal web page of the printer if the IP address is correct.

RoboHelp for Word installed from RoboHelp 10 won't work with Word 2010

I have a Help project created in RoboHelp for Word 8. I recently upgraded from Word 2007 to Word 2010 and discovered that RH8 for Word won't work with Word 2010. So I purchased RoboHelp 10 and have installed RoboHelp for Word from it. Alas, RH for Word STILL won't work with Word 2010. When I try to open my project, I get this message:
Before I bought RH10, I live-chatted with an Adobe sales person who assured me it was compatible with Word 2010.
BTW, I tried to roll back to Word 2007, but I was getting weird behavior running Word, so I have reinstalled Word 2010 and want to stay there.
Any ideas?

I have just installed Rh10 for Word on a new machine and initially I got this message.
I wonder if you have followed those instuctions? I changed the setting to Enable All.
The other possibility is what do you have set for the default version? If it is 2007 and that no longer exists on your machine, then Rh will not be able to proceed. The dropdown should show 2010

Do you get this error message only when you try to print from PowerPoint?
When you click on Print, a new window opens. That includes a button to click for Printer Settings.

The default setting for the function keys is that they do OS X functions.
To get a regular function hold the fn key and then press the function key.
This action can be reversed in keyboard preferences.

I have downloaded Microsoft Word on my Macbook Air and when I delete a document on there it does not seem to go away. The next time I open word the document seems to still be there but I cannot open it either. Is there a way to get rid of it all together?

Are you saying you actually delete the document on the Mac but it still appears in Word's list of recently accessed documents?
That is the way Word works. It works this way on Windows machines as well as Macs.

Problem with canon mx870 printer in Word insists on using inkjet Hagaki media type

My MX870 insists on using inkjet Hagaki media type in Word and printing with standard quality, no matter how many times I change it back to plain paper and fast quality. I have tried everyhting I can think of short uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software. I have chnaged documents, closed and reopened word, change printer setting in Control Panel (Windows 7), powering off and restarting the printer, restarting my laptop, etc.
Even more annoying is that in Word my cursor now is a constantly blinking hourglass which has slowed down Word's speed.

4. Right-click the MX870 and choose Preferences or Printing Preferences.
5. In the Main tab, click the 'Defaults' button at the bottom.
6. In the Page Setup tab, click the 'Defaults' button at the bottom.
7. Click Apply and OK.

Problem Printing onto CDs from Photoshop CS5 - Canon MG6150 printer

I cannot find a solution to this problem anywhere!! I have a Canon Pixma MG6150 printer and have designed a CD/DVD label using Photoshop CS5. The proportions are all correct, when printed on paper from within Photoshop I can cut out the label and it fits my printable media perfectly.
The problem is printing directly onto the CD or DVD using the printer's CD print tray. I cannot get the alignement correct -- the label will only print halfway off the media or more, so only a small section of my label appears on the CD. I have tried various settings from within Photoshop's print options and none work.
How can I get my label design to print onto the DVD or CD? Any help is HUGELY appreciated.
I am running Mac OSX 10.6.5.

I was testing other Imacs running the same photoshop CS5.1 with the new printer drivers from canon and it prints. They are running OSX10.6.8. My new computer is running 10.9.2 and it will not print from photoshop. Is the driver not compatible with the operating system? Is there something to try other than saying the driver is at fault. Do I complain to Canon to update their driver to work? What is a work around?

Canon mp620 printer with no cd cannot install

A friend gave me his Canon mp620 printer. Unfortunatly he doesn't have the CD anymore and the software I downloaded isn't compleate for first time use. I anyone can help me please do as I've already spent hours trying to make this work.

You may be stuck as far as the scanning function is concerned. I haven't been able to locate a scanner driver. Can you ask the person who gave it to you to look for the software disc for it?

Don't ask me how to do wireless printing, though. I never figured that out.

HP Officejet 6700 Premium double sided printing with Word

I have a new HP Officejet 6700 Premium printer. When printing a pdf the double sided printing option works. When printing from Word, it does not. Can you tell me what settings I need to change to make this happen?

From Word click on File and then select Print. the print dialog appears.
Click the Printer Properties link. the Printing Preferences dialog appears.
Within the Layout tab, set the Print on both sides option as Flip on long edge.
Click OK to confirm the changes, than click the Print button.
