Cant connect ipod to itunes

I just got a refurbished Ipod Touch. It will not allow me to uploads new apps or connect to Itunes store. Do I need to register this?

- I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause
iTunes for Windows: Device Sync Tests
- Try on another computer to help determine if computer or iPod problem

Cant connect iPod to iTunes 8

I just upgraded to iTunes 8. Now for some reason my iPod wont connect to iTunes? When physically plugged in, the ipod screen illuminates, but does nothing else and wont sync anything?
Any suggestions? I have removed iTunes and started again, no joy.

Could be iTunes problem similar to those that many Windows users are having. Do you have your music files backed up? Try the 5 Rs under troubleshooting. If you recently upgraded to iTunes 7.7.1, you may have to uninstall and install an older version. I detailed what I went trough the past two weeks in nano and iTunes topic posts.

New- cant connect Ipod to itunes...

So I got an ipod yesterday (limits 7,500 songs) and Ive been trying to connect it to my MAC G4. The thing is that I downloaded the info on the cd and I connected my ipod to the 2.0 USB in my computer and nothing happens. I try clicking on my itunes and the only thing that occurs is that the ipod reads (do not disconnect this). I dont know whats going on. I just printed the instructions on this website. Does anyone know anything about this. I'll apologize in advance. Im not very computer literate.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Connect Ipod to Itunes Message

My ipod's battery died on me while I was on vacation about 3 days ago. At the time I had no means of charging it, but when I returned home I attempted to charge it on my PS3 (I have done this many times and it usually works fine). When I turned my ipod on it displayed the 'connect ipod to itunes' message (a usb plug with an arrow pointing at the itunes symbol). However, I can't connect my ipod to itunes because it is locked. I can't enter my passcode on my ipod because it is frozen on the 'connect ipod to itunes' screen. This has happened to me once before but I didn't have a passcode for my ipod at the time, so I was able to access it on itunes and fix whatever was wrong. Any suggestions?

you need to force recovery mode on the ipod and then restore it.
that screen means the ipod found something wrong with itself and you need to restore anyways
when the ipod is not connected to the computer, hold down the sleep/wake button and slide to power off.
once the ipod is off, hold down the home button and do not let it go!
plug the ipod into the computer and open itunes. you should get a message stating itunes has detected an ipod in recovery mode.
once you see that let go of the home button, click ok on the message then click restore in itunes.

If you have a backup of your information on your computer, I would suggest putting your phone into recovery mode, by holding down the home key and keeping it held down while you connect it by usb into your computer with itunes running. Keep the home button held down until it indicates recovery mode, and proceed with the restore.

Can someone help me please ? I was using itunes (downloading albums etc) just half an hour ago. I had a pop up asking me if i'd like to download the latest version of itunes, which i accepted. When the update had finshed downloading, i then restarted my computer, as i usually would. Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings
