Cant download a purchase from itunes err message -5000

after purchasing an album from the i store i am having problems downloading the songs i keep getting a err.  "you do not have enough acces privelages for this action. please check your connection to the network is active and try again"
I have to tred to to deautherize and re authorize my account i have unistalled itunes and re installed it nothing is working any suggestions

First, look for a folder called "Downloads" in your iTunes Music folder. If there is such a folder, look for files that would be the partial download and delete those, so that the download starts over from the beginning. Then try again using the "Check for Available Downloads" command under the iTunes Store menu.
If that doesn't work, and particularly if you paid for the movie twice, contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of their web page and explain the problem to them.
Hope this helps.

There isn't a phone number for iTunes Support.
If you've forgotten your answers to your security questions then you can get them reset : If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions
If you have a credit card on your account then its details have to complete - and asking for their details is also a way of checking that you have a valid billing address in that country. As long as you are buying content for yourself and not trying to gift content (you can't use your balance for gifting) then the purchase price (plus any applicable taxes) should be deducted from your balance. If it's not then you contact iTunes Support :  http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

    Hello missskye1,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information, take a look at:
Downloading past purchases from the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
    Using iTunes 11 or later
Open iTunes. (You can download the latest version of iTunes.)
If you're not already signed in, choose Store > Sign In and type your Apple ID and password.
If you're in the iTunes Store, click the Library button, in the upper-right corner, to go to your library.
Make sure that you have "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases" enabled in your iTunes preferences by going to iTunes > Preferences in the Store tab and clicking OK.
In your iTunes library, click the content type you wish to download using the content selector in the upper-left. Choose Music to download music, Movies to download movies, and so on.
Locate the item or title you wish to download.
Click the download icon to download that item.
    Have a nice day,

The exclamation mark means that iTunes can't find the actual music files.
    Try:

  • Can't download song purchased from Itunes from one computer to another using same Apple ID

Hi, I am operating itunes 11 at home, using Mac OS 10.7.5.. I purchased a song at work (also a Mac, I am not sure which version of OSM or itunes). I accessed the purchase of the song in the "Purchased" menu option in itunes on my home Mac. When I tried to download the song at home so I can include it in my Library, I got the following message:
This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days.
So: just to be clear:I can only buy something from  itunes from one computer and save to another with the  same Apple ID only every 90 days??? And if that is the case, I have not purchased anything from my work computer within 90 days of this recent song  purchase. That just does not make sense to me, since the license covers 10 devices anyway, and I am using the same Apple ID.
Let me know if I am not understanding this correctly, or am doing something wrong. It just does make not sense to me that I can't download a purchase I made from one computer to another since I am paying Apple for the music and just accessing it elsewhere, using the same account.
    Thanks so much.

Thanks for the response. Yes, my husband logged on to our computer and rented a movie for us to view. That is how we use Itunes: I purchase the music, he may purchase a movie or a rental now and then. This is new, it never happend before.
Also, I contacted customer support, both by phone and email. Not only does someone else using the home computer under a different account trigger this, but so does simply activating my own user id from a different computer (one of the 5 I am allowed to under the service agreement.)
Customer support was very helpful and lifted the 90 day ban. I called them because I purchased a season pass of a TV show and could not download the first episode because it was a "past purchase" (the episode was not even available to download when I purchased the pass, so “past” is indeed relevant.)
But I don't see the point of purchasing content from Apple now. This feature limits the accessibility of legal purchases under the service agreement.  Why allow 5 computers per Apple ID if activating one of them limits the ability to download content for 90 days??
I (used to) buy movies, rentals and TV shows all the time. I don’t have cable, so Apple was the source for all “must have” shows that I couldn’t wait for. Too bad.

  • Trying to download past purchases from itunes to iphone. Not working so how do I delete these off my iphone to resync on a computer?

    Hi,
I recently tried to download all of my past purchases in itunes to my iphone through the phone itself. I didn't have a computer available to simply sync the music. Some of the songs downloaded with no problem but the rest didn't and an error message comes up saying 'Unable to download songs' and when I click 'retry' nothing happens. These songs cannot be played on my phone and have a stop symbol beside the track title. My internet connection is fine so I don't understand what the problem is.
However, I do now have a computer with itunes that I could sync to my phone but every time I try to sync the songs they look the same on my iphone. I.e. the tracks still have the stop symbol beside them and I keep getting the download error messages. Does anyone know how to delete/cancel these downloads so that I can remove all the music from the iphone and simply sync it to itunes?
Any help would be very appreciated!

Go to Settings > Music and make sure "Show All Music" is off.  Then only actually downloaded music will be displayed.  With it on, you can see all your music stored in the Cloud as well.  That music will always be in the Cloud (until such time as you download it) but it isn't present on your device.

  • I cannot download music purchased from iTunes store to iPod

All of a sudden when I connect my 2G Nano I get an error message that says, "Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod "your name iPod" Because your iPod software is too old. Go to the Summary in iPod preferences and click Update to get the latest iPod software update."
When I click OK The "Update" button is greyed out and I cannot select it. On the Summary tab under "Version" it says "your iPod is up to date."
What I noticed is that any songs in my playlists that were purchased through the iTunes music store were not transfered to the iPod. The difficult work around is to burn those songs to a CD and re-import them as mp3's. I tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing my computer which did not work. I also rebuilt my iTunes music library which did not work.
I belive when I irst set up this new iPod about 3 weeks ago this was not a problem and purchased songs transferred from iTunes to the iPod but now they don't.
    Any Suggestions?

Also I forgot to mention that when all this was happening, I wanted to Retore my iPod but this option was also greyed out in the summary section and it wouldnt let me do it, therefore I hooked it up to my Windows XP machine and was able to restore the iPod. Now it was formatted for Windows. I hooked it up to my Mac machine and got all the same problems but it downloads everything from itunes to the iPod except purchased music.
So I opened iPod Updater and it said that it cannot update the iPod because it if formated for Windows. It also says if I now want to Restore it, I need to connect using a firewire cable whereas before I was using a USB cable because it said the Nano is not compatible with a firewire cable.
    Arghhhh.

  • Cannot download films purchased from iTunes (error 8217).

    Hi,
I purchased some films from iTunes but  instead of downloading films I got following error message.
There was a problem downloading “”. An unknown error occurred (8217).
Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again.
Problem cannot be in network connection because I can browse web and even in iTunes at same time.
I have tried to disable firewall and then use "check available downloads" in iTunes again. Same results.
I suspect that problem may be related with Regional setting of my Apple ID.
Before I was using another account with US address and eveytning worked fine.  When I created new account with my Estonian address and tried to use it then I was able to purchase films but not able to download these

  • Cannot download a purchase from iTunes store

I purchased the movie 20 feet from stardom and when I try to view it I receive this message,
"This computer is already associated with an Aplle ID.
If you download past purcahses with your Apple ID, you cannot auto download or download past purchases with a different Apple ID for 90 days".
My computer has only ever had my current Apple ID associated with it, I have made many purchases movies, TV shows and music, this is the only download that I am having an issue with. My receipt came to my email address etc. I am not sure why I am receiving this message or how to gain access to this movie.

The message is to contact iTunes Support, not to post on here, which you can do via this link and ask them why the message is appearing (we are fellow users, we won't know why) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Everytime i try to download songs purchased from itune store to itune account. A warning comes up that I have exceeded the 5 account per computer limit. I only have one account.   What is this?

Why do I get  a warning that I have exceeded the 5 account limit per computer, when I only have one account.  It will allow me to purchase songs from itune, but will not download them to my itune account.

The very similar situation with mine:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3492726
I can't find any solution. I don't even remember when I changed my apple ID! So does that means I cant recovered my purchased apps from my " old" account? I am totally innocent, for I did not intend to "Change" my account name
