Cant find Procedure Builder...?

First of all, I am very new to this as if that isnt already apparent. I am following along in my PL/SQL book and got to the part where I am learning about procedure builder and I went to run it and it doesnt seem to be installed or included in what I am using. I downloaded 9i Database R2 Personal for Windows.
I have searched a good bit but have not been able to come up with any info on procedure builder after release 6. Is it called something else now or am I just missing it?
TIA!

Firstly, they give different colours to keywords, strings, comments, variables etc. You can get add-ins to TextPad to do this.
Secondly, compilation reports errors and attempts to pinpoint their location. Again, you can get line numbers in TextPad.
I agree that SQL*Plus and Notepad is a hairs shirt combo, but TextPad is a much moe flexible tool.
Why I prefer using TextPad and SQL*Plus rather than TOAD is that using TextPad forces me to work from scripts. This means I have an audit trail of the changes I've made, and a set of scripts to run whenever I need to recreate my work.
Using TOAD's GUI to (say) add a column to a table is tremendously productive the first time you do it. What happens when you need to roll out that change to UAT? Well, assuming you documented the need to make the change somewhere, you have to find a form of words to explain the change to your less-than-friendly live systems DBA and hope they click on the correct icon. How much simpler it id to just hand them two scripts - one to add the column and another to remove it we should need to regress the release.
Perhaps it is different for people who never make errors in their codeOn the contrary, it is precisely because I do make mistakes that I avoid using TOAD as an IDE for developing PL/SQL . TextPad and SQL*Plus (and poperly implemented source control - this is key) are the tools for me.

  • Procedure Builder - where to find

I can not find Procedure Builder. I have installed Oracle 9i (9.0.1.1.1) and Oracle 9iDS. Earlier on, proc builder used to be a part of application development where forms builder, schema builder, procedure builder, reports builder, etc., all were clubbed together in one location. I have looked at the bin subfolder of the client machine. I just can not find it.... Will somebody please help.
    Thanks

Can't help you there, I never used Procedure Builder to debug. I've always done it the old fashioned way, with dbms_output and sqlplus. I only use PB to fix syntax errors and find line numbers...
I noticed that Forms 9i has a "Debug" menu containing several tools and a console. Maybe that's what you're looking for....

  • Procedure Builder 9i developer suite

I have done a full install on my Windows 2000 machine, but can't find Procedure builder installed (or an option to install it). Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
    thanks, robin

Nothing is wrong, it is simply not there. Check out the obsolesence paper on OTN.
You can still debug and create stored procedure from within Oracle Forms.

  • Regarding "Procedure Builder"

In my PC I installed Oracle9iDS which is downloaded free form Oralce website, but I couldn't find "Procedure Builder" in this suite. So "Procedure Builder" is not included in DS free version? Or I didn't install properly?
    Thanks in advance

As far as I know, Procedure builder is not available beginning with Oracle9ids(Experts, correct me if I am wrong). You may want to start looking at Oracle's JDeveloper.

  • Cant find boot.ini

    Hello all!
Ive updated my solaris with patch, but somthing went wrong. And now i cant bootup my machine anymore.
It says "cant find boot.ini" Does anyone know how to solve this whitout doing the whole installation procedure all over agian. Really need help.
    /ZzzZzz

    Hi,
Agree with Ed. A checked build Windows is used for debug. Before installing Exchange 2013, please make sure that you use a free build. I'm afraid that you need to reinstall the OS.
What's more, you can refer the following screenshot to determine which Windows build is running. Generally, it should be Free build.
    Hope it helps.

can any one help with any information

I'm having sync issues too since I've updated to 11.0.4.  My ipod 160 will no longer sync properly or will hang when attempting to sync yet my 4th gen touch doesn't have any problems.  I am thinking about uninstalling it and rolling back to an older version of itunes.

  • Aperture cant find master yet the image is showing up but i cant edit it

pls help i had some hot images of for my clients port while doin some transfering aperture closed down not it say that some of the images are not readable format and the others that show up have a sliced rectangle badge in the corner but the image is not editable and when u try to do anythin wit it say that it cant find the master image and the duplicate files that were there were deleted i tried to re import them and now they are there but they are not helping how do i bring back the masters or reconnect them ... pls help
    g4 powerbook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I lost an image in the same way---Aperture crashed while I was moving the image. But I was able to recover the image and in the process learned a lot about how Aperture works from the point of view of storage and security and back-up. So
    1. Do you have a back-up of your Aperture Library in an Aperture Vault? If so, you can run Restore Library from the Vault. But this is a fairly lengthy process.
    2. If you have a back-up, you can go to it and "Open Package Contents" using the Finder; and then find the image missing from your Aperture Library and make a copy to your Desktop; then Import the image back into your Aperture Library.
    3. If you don't have a back-up---and this is a very dangerous way to live!---try Rebuilding the Aperture Library. To Rebuild, quit Aperture; then hold down Command and Option while rebooting Aperture; and then follow the Rebuild instructions.
    4. Another possibility, which is similar to the procedure used when a document becomes corrupted and won't open, is to find your problem image file in the Aperture Library (use "open package contents" in the Finder); copy it to the Desktop and see if it will open in Preview. Sometimes copying a corrupted document or image file will correct the corruption. If the copy opens in Preview, re-Import the image into Aperture and try it there.
And, after all is said and done, be sure to have a back-up of the Aperture Library at all times. It will save your skin over and over.

  • Problem in connecting to local db in procedure builder

I install oracle 8i for window 2000 personal edition in my local computer and also forms & reports 6i. I create a db during installing of oracle 8i. By using the sql worksheet I build up several tables. But when I try to use procedure builder in forms 6i to connect to my local data base, I can not. I do not know which userid and password and database name I should use. I tried scott/tigger or system/manager, all give me an error: can't find the service. Can somebody help me with the connection to my local database in the proceduce builder?
    thanks

  • Query builder, procedural builder - Oracle 8.17

I'm running Oracle 8.17 and I can't find query builder, procedural builder, report builder form builder and other builders. Where can I get these? I tried the universal installer and there are no options to install them.

    Hi Fraser,
    Thank you for responding.
I think I fixed that problem, actually there was a spelling

Do I have to configure the SQL Server network utilities?
I pinged both the servers ,they talk to each other.
But when I use tnsping ,the client machine (i.e.,the SQL Server

    talk to the client.
I am definitely not doing something right.

  • My mac is used and i cant find brower to work

i bought my mac used and it cant find a brower to dowload or any updates or find any downloads

If your computer is running Tiger OS X 10.4.11, and is an Intel-based computer,
it may be upgraded to Snow Leopard  OS X 10.6 (retail DVD purchase) and then
updated via a download Combo update to 10.6.8 by use of Software Updates.
A retail Snow Leopard OS X 10.6 install DVD is available from the online store
or in some cases, from an Apple specialist or Apple authorized service provider.
The DVD would be mailed to you, if bought from the online Apple Store.
Then, you'd have a browser selection; from Firefox, and other third party products.
And the Safari browser would be a later version than available for Tiger or Leopard.
Some Mozilla-based code custom browsers are available where the main branded
browser for older OS X are not being supported or updated. SeaMonkey, Opera,
and a few others may support an older Intel-based OS X such as SL 10.6.8.
However if your computer is a PowerPC older hardware model, based on PPC cpu
and other era vintage parts, the Tiger OS X 10.4.11 system could be upgraded by
use of a hard-to-get retail DVD version of Leopard OS X 10.5; with later update of
that to its final step, 10.5.8, by use of Software Update in the running 10.5 system.
You could get & use a few patched or current browsers, one most recommended
for the PPC G3/G4 hardware with Tiger 10.4 or Leopard 10.5 systems, is known
by its name, TenFourFox. It will not run on an Intel-based Mac...
    TenFourFox for PPC Mac G3-G4-G5 running OS X 10.4.11 & 10.5.8:
    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
iCab browser versions: (note older versions based on OS X & hardware type)
For Tiger 10.4.11, you could probably do OK with iCab v. 4.9 or before.
    http://www.icab.de/dl.php
So, your question requires asking a ton of questions in the blind, without details
of what Mac version and build series you do have. This should be included in the
first part of a new post -- or in your user Profile so it appears in the signature line of
each post. - If this is added, note to update that info when you get a different Mac.
Depending on your computer's hardware configuration, build date model year
product details, the results will vary greatly. There is no single answer when a
    question is nebulously vague.
    However that works out...
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • I want to install the new itunes but it says it cant find the old one what do i do?

hi, on my computer my itunes needs to be updated but it cant because it cant find the files for it what do i do?

    Many thanks.
If it's saying it can't find the iTunes.msi or iTunes64.msi, we should try the following procedure.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
Here's a screenshot showing the particular links on the page that you should be clicking:
After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
    (2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Cant find PocketMac 4.1.25

i need this version to sync my BB 8120 with my mac, but i just cant find it in this website.... HELP!

There is only one current version on there now, and it's 4.1.  If you see 4.0.22b or a patch, you can ignore those entries now. RIM has removed the files, but the links are still there.  It has been reported to their web team.
NOTE:  The new BlackBerry Bold has a different protocol on USB than was used on all the other devices, and is not yet supported in the Macintosh.  If anyone reading this has a Bold, I'm sorry to say we'll have a bit of a wait while we work on this with the manufacturers.
Some users have found that if they try the following procedure to clean up the old installation, the program works fine:
    1.  Turn off PocketMac and disconnect the BlackBerry.
    2.  In Applications, under PocketMac SyncManager, find UninstallPocketMac and use it to uninstall the program.
    3.  Restart the Mac
    4.  Install PocketMac for BlackBerry 4.1.25 again and restart the Mac when you are prompted.
    5.  Connect the BlackBerry, and start PocketMac for BlackBerry.  Give your Mac a few seconds to connect.
    6.  Click on the BlackBerry icon in PocketMacSyncManager and look at the status screen.  You should see your BlackBerry's number there.
If it launches all the way to PocketMac SyncManager but won't complete a sync, start it again, and then click on Help, and System Report.  That will make a file called "PMSystemReport.txt" on your Desktop.  Then, we invite you to visit our free support site at http://www.pocketmacsupport.net and to enter a Support Request. You can attach that system report so the support engineers can review the error messages and help them focus on what is interrupting the sync.
If PocketMac SyncManager won't launch at all, you might need to look for competing programs, like other sync applications you may have tried in the past, and make sure you remove them.  They often block the USB communications that the BlackBerry uses.  Some of them have been known to uninstall parts of PocketMac, so if you find them and remove them, make sure you restart, and then install PocketMac for BlackBerry again.  (PocketMac does not hobble or interfere with other publishers' programs.)
In any case, please don't spend a huge amount of time trying to hunt down a mystery problem.  Our support team is here at http://www.pocketmacsupport.net and free, so please use our team to help you find out why PocketMac may not be working in your system at the moment.
Thank you, and have a wonderful autumn!
