Captivate 4: 3 Attempts, Score and Completion Status Issue

Hi Everyone,
I hope somoene may have some insight on this issue.  We built a quiz in Captivate that has a minimum passing score of 80% and allows the learner 3 attempts to complete it.  The quiz should only send a completed status to the LMS if an 80% or greater is acheived.  If the learner takes the quiz and passes on the 1st attempt, the quiz is marked as completed and passes the correct score to the LMS.  However, if the learner fails the first time, and then gets a passing score on a 2nd or 3rd attempt, the new score is passed to the LMS but the status remains as incomplete. I included a screenshot from a test I ran in SCORM Test track.  I failed the first attempt and passed on my second attempt with a 97%.  However, as you see it is stated as incomplete.  When I passed on the first attempt, it says completed.  Any thoughts?  Perhaps this is a setting somewhere that is incorrect?  We have tried several things and even tried calling Adobe Support (but after an hour and a half of holding and transfers that hit a wall).  Any insight would be great!!

Complete/Incomplete is more related to how many of the slides in the project were viewed all the way through to the end.
If you're talking about a score from the Quiz being at least 80% in order to pass then maybe you should be focusing more on Pass/Fail.
Check your Quiz Settings in Captivate.  Do you have it set to report Complete/Incomplete or Pass/Fail?
Maybe what you're seeing here as inconsistency is due to your not watching every single slide all the way through on the second time through.

    A course within a curriculum does not report completion. I am forced to override their completion. Why is this course not accurately recording completion? Also, why are the users only enrolled in the curriculum and not enrolled into the individual courses? Is this affecting the completion status?

    As to why it is not reporting correctly, you may need to work with Adobe Support to have them look at the course from the back end and identify where the issue may be.
    For the enrollment, the courses are part of the curriculum, and are all tracked through the curriculum, so it makes sense that the studens are not enrolled in the individual courses. If you look closely, you'll notice that even the links to the courses are different in the curriculum than they are as the indvidual courses.

  • PO from Bid has active Incomplete and Complete statuses

    We experience PO's created from Bid where the status is both Complete and Incomplete. Please see status table below:

    We also observed that at Header, it has blank/space value in Flow control field (DOC_FLOW_CTRL).
    This PO can not be displayed by suppliers in GR/SE for Vendor screen. PO has to be manually re-ordered so as to continue with the confirmation. But now, the PO's produce error messages such as:
    System status INCM is active ( Purchase Order xxx )
    System status ITRE is active  ( Purchase Order xxx ).
    These PO's are with NET account assignment.
    Kindly share your inputs regarding this scenario.

  • Message sending/ receiving problems and contact status issues.

    Been using the Skype on my Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) with Droid 4.4.2 for several months now without any issues, however in the last few days it's been plagued with problems (It has recently had an update, 5.8.0.13549). While on mobile data it will often outright refuse to send or receive messages or calls, other apps and internet all work fine and it shows me as connected. While on mobile data and on wifi it doesn't display contacts status correctly, with some online people being offline, some offline people being online and people who are away being either online or offline. I have tried clearing the app data and also tried to reinstall the app, it had the same issues after both. Nothing else on my phone has changed. Any advice would be appreciated.

    I'm also having the same problem as you. I'm using a galaxy S5 phone. Didn't do anything but since the last update I've been experiencing the same problems as yours.. Have you fixed it at all?How do you downgrade or revert back to the old version, where everything seems to be working well/

  • CC Menu bar panel and app status issues

    After my iMac 27" late 2009 had to be force restarted after an unrelated crash the Adobe CC app shows that none of my apps are installed, even though I have Photoshop, Illustrator, Muse Lightroom and Indesign installed and running correctly. Lathough it doesn't seem to be effecting use of my apps I would like to see CC to display correct information as I might miss out on updates etc.
    Also, I'm using multiple 'spaces' on my Mac to quickly swipe between various full screen apps. However, every time I swipe to another space the Adobe CC menue panel pops up. A quick click makes it disappear again but it becomes quite annoying after a short while.
    Has anybody got any solutions to these problems?

    Try to uninstall CC desktop app from Applications > Adobe Creative Cloud folder and then re-install CC desktop app from the CC wensite. https://creative.adobe.com/products

  • Activity search by Completed status and End Date

    Hi All,
    When i try searching for an activity based on the date on which the status was set to Completed, the system does not show any results. 'Criteria used are Activity Type, Status = Completed, End Date.'
    If i choose an End date = Date on which the status on the Activity was set to Completed, the system does not show correct results. The system only shows those activities where the Activity Status was Open and Completed on the same day. For activities where Open and Completed Status was set on different dates, there are no search results.
    However, with the same criteria set, if i change the End Date = Date when Activity Status was Open, i get the results.
    Is it not possible to search for activities based on Status and End date combination?

    Hi Kansal,
    There is a possibility that the status profile you maintained for the activities has some issues.Please check the Business transaction (which maps system status) that you have mapped with your completed and open staus.It might be that the user staus is set to be open but in the status profile it is accidently mapped to the completed or finished.

  • Captivate 4 - LMS Completion Status Updating

    Hello,
    We recently published Captivate 4 assessments to our LMS (Learn.com LearnCenter) that have a 3 attempt limit and require a score of 80% or greater to pass.  We are finding that many will fail the first time, and when they pass the assessment on their second attempt the LMS gains the new higher % score but does not gain the "completed" status.  Any ideas on what could be causing this?

    Is the Captivate quiz set for multiple tries? I'd assume so...
    If it's sending the updated score, it is likely sending the updated status...
    But only way to be sure it to see what the Captivate lesson is actually sending.
    If your LMS does not offer any way to 'trace' or otherwise see the actual lesson communication, perhaps try something like 'SCORM Cloud' (websearch) or the Reload Editor. I know the first, and perhaps the second, offer ways to see the actual communication between the lesson and the LMS.
    (the official ADL Test Suite also offers this functionality but is more complicated to use, at least last time I tried it).
    IF you can validate that the CP lesson is indeed sending the updated status to the LMS, but the LMS is not showing that updated status, then it's something to take up with your LMS vendor.
    If CP is not sending that updated status...then it's a CP setting...somewhere...(I don't have any precise things to try, but the setting the quiz to allow retakes would be the first thing to look at).

  • 0% Score and "1" Grade - Captivate 3 and TotalLMS 7.6

    This is a problem that we have had with all versions of
    Captivate and SumTotal Aspen, TotalLMS 7.2 and 7.6.
    When a user closes down a CBT before answering any questions
    he receives the Score of 0% and Grade of "1".
    It also shows a status of "Completed" and "Failed." If the
    user answers any of the questions, it generates the correct score
    and grade, but again marks the CBT "Complete" and "Failed", or
    "Passed" depending on the score.
    We were experiencing the popup at beginning of CBT, however
    Andrew Chemey's Scorm code alleviated that problem.
    The quiz settings are for "Pass/Fail", but I believe it does
    the same for "Complete/Incomplete"
    Would anybody have an idea of how we can set Captivate so
    that the LMS reports any unfinished CBT as "In Progress."

    Well, it appears that I had not tested using
    Complete/Incomplete instead of Pass/Fail. I changed the Quiz
    preference and now it works.
    Sorry about the premature post, but hopefully it may help
    someone else.

  • Status used in open and completed transactions in Fact Sheet

    Hi! I would like to confirm the logics used in the fact sheet to display open and completed transactions. I read on the help that for open (for example) transactions, system is using status 'open' and 'in process'. This seems to me like system status. However, when I ran the fact sheet, the control is more at the user status level. So, I need clarification on this. Also, where can I find the status and transaction logics used for the extraction of these transactions (e.g. what transaction types are used)? I could not find the codings in the method GET_REPORT under class CL_CRM_CCKPT_PROCESS_CLOSED for example. Perhaps I have looked in the wrong place?
    Appreciate any help on the above.

    No response. Based on what is being debugged, all transactions are taken into account.

    Hi Deepthi,
    You can look for the "job log" status for the jobs in your process chain. For job logs use sm37 transaction an find the relative db table.

    Yes the Workflow Background process completed successfully with no errors. I see the error when I query up the Sales Order go to menu --> Workflow Status -->
    Activity History.
    The Activity History shows error in the Wait Function and the error message is 3001: Invalid command argument.?
    This error message does not explain much. I followed all the steps in document# 397364.1
    Don't know why it should end in error and how it can be fixed?
    Any more ideas?

    Depends on how strong your wifi connection is.
    you can try a reset hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release.

  • Why My Quiz Status Completion Status Slide Does not Move on to the pre-set Success/Fail slide

    I set the Pass or Fail status in the Quiz Preferences as below: If passed, it should jump to Slide 8; if failed, go to Slide 9 (image #1)
    But when I am running and testing the file (F4), it will stop at the Assessment Completion Status screen (Image #2) and never jump to the pre-defined slide. Does anybody know why? Thanks!

    This happens so often, users are deleting embedded objects on Question or Score slides. Embedded objects have no visible timeline. Some of them can be turned off using checkboxes (like Back, Next buttons on question slides), others disappear automatically (Submit during review, Retake when Quiz attempts are exhausted) but deleting them manually is always a bad idea. And Continue button on the Score slide is as important as the Submit button on Question slides. Those are the buttons that trigger the actions linked to those slides: Success/Last Attempt actions for the Question Slides, and the Passing/Failing grade actions for the Score slide. This is just a bit more in details what Rod told you, not another answer at all.

    If you want to skip the Continue button, it is possible to create a conditional advanced action that uses the value of the system variable cpQuizInfoPassFail to choose a jump to the appropriate slide.
