Capturing Operating System's standard output

Hello Everyone ~
I'm trying to capture the operating system's output using RunCommand method.
Here's my code:
cmd, out : textdata = new;
cmd.SetValue('cat myfile');
task.part.OperatingSystem.RunCommand (command=cmd, outputfile=out,
appendOutput=TRUE);
task.lgr.putline(out);
I'm expecting the contents of 'myfile' to be captured in to 'out' textdata
object. But it's not happening. I'm making sure the path is right. Am I
missing something here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Madhu,
There is not problem with the path of the file you are using ('myfile'). The problem is that the OutPutFile parameter of the RunCommand method have to point to a file in your directory structure. I mean, your OUT textdata object you are using as OutPutFile MUST contain the full path (path+file name) of the file you want to use to store the OutPut of the RunCommand method execution. RunCommand creates a file. It does not send back the resulting text into the OutPutFile parameter object. You are just declaring OUT as a textdata object, so when RunCommand is executed, no reference to a file is passed, so, no file is created.
