Capturing Plant & machinery Cost while planning

Please advice, how to capture plant and machinery cost while planning in PS on activity basis.

You can define your plant-machinery as 'work center' which is helping you manufacture the goods required in the project, you should use thse plant-machinery as a work center. You can define the operating rate for this plant-machinery. when you are suing this plant-machinery as work cneter in network activity, the planned costs will be calculated. Also when you post the activity confirmation, actual costs will be posted on network activity.
For detailed configuration take help of CO consultant on setting this up.

  • Can I do plant maintenance cost planning in functional location wise?

    Dear Experts,
My customer plans to prepare annual plant maintenance cost planning in "functional location" wise.
    Can this be done?
If yes, what are the steps?
    regards,
    Abraham

    Abraham,
You could do it indirectly in ECC using a cost centre for each FLoc. You can then plan the costs in the cost centre

  • Cost center planning for overhead calculation

    Gurus,
I have a doubt regarding the cost center planning for overhead calculation.
    My scenario is:
There is a service cost center from which a certain percentage I want to allocate to the products as overhead. Now while doing so I have created a cost center and a cost element of type 43 (internal activity allocation). This cost element is the base for overhead calculation. Also I have created one cost element of type 41 (overhead rates). I have defined the credit (of cost sheet) with the cost element of type 41 and the cost center as mentioned.
Now I am facing a problem while planning the cost center with cost element type 43 through KP06.The system is throwing the error message: 'Cost element xxxx can only be used for activity input'. My understanding is we must carry out the planning for the cost center to allocate a certain percentage to the product cost estimate. If I am not allowed to use the cost element of type 43 to plan, what should I use for the planning?
    Request your suggestion.
    Thanks in advance!
    Snigdho.

    Hi
Since you mentioned catg 43 cost element, I thought you are using Activuty Type
To apply overhead on the product during CK11N, you need not plan any value on the cost center... The values planned in the cost center can not be used as a BASE in your costing sheet....
    It goes like this
    1. Your cost estimate has BOM + Routing
    2. So, the cost elements that you would see during CK11N, can be broadly classified into 3 types
    a. Primary cost ele - Material Consumption accounts for BOM components
    b. Secondary cost ele (Catg 43) - If you use any actvity type in the routing
    c. Secondary cost ele (Catg 41) - These cost elements are parasites... They need some basis to calculate the overhead value... That basis can be either the (a) or (b) above.....
I think, what you are planning to do is Plan Primary cost ele in a cost center and trying to use the same as the Basis.. That wont work!
What you need to do is
    a. PLan the values in the cost center, say, 100,000 USD
    b. Absorb it on the basis of 2.a or 2.b
If 2.b is not applicable in your case, since you are not using activity types, then 2.a is the Only option left for you
    Hope it is clear....

  • Cost Center Planning

    Hi All,
    The scenerio is like this:
1)Client is using the excel upload functionality for cost center planning throu tx-KP06
    2) While defining the planning layout the currency defined is Total Cost for Object currency
    3) There is a devieation from the standard report and the user defined report because the standard report is always defined in co area currency and user defined report is defined in object currency.
So my question is how to upload in both the currencies
    Thanks,
    Srini

    Hi,
I am upload by using the flexible upload funtionality. The interesting thing here is
    like this
    Co Area Currency - EUR
    Object Currency   - ZAR
We are uploading the excel sheet with 'ZAR' currency figures, but the system is taking these figures as "EUR" and applying exchange rate 0.135966 and showing in "ZAR"
    The scenerio is like this
In Excel Sheet I am entering 35000 asuming that it is ZAR
The system takes this figure as EUR and applys the exchange rate and shows as 257417 ZAR.
I have tried different combinations but it is not working.
When I see the overview in KP06 I could see 257417 ZAR, how come when I entered 35000 it has changed to 257417.
I need your help, please guide me if you have any inputs.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

  • How & Where can we do Revenue Cost Element Planning

    HI,
We need to do planning for Revenue cost elements. How & Where can we do Revenue Cost Element Planning.
Generally we will do excel planning upload for Cost Elements in KP06. But where can we do Excel plannin for Revenue Cost Elements in the system?
Kindly provie me the transaction code and some inputs on how can i proceed.
It would be a great help if any one can respond on this.
    Thanks
    Kishore

    Hi Kishore,
We can plan Sales Revenue through T-code KEPM-Edit Planning Data or through T-code KE13N by Uploading CO-PA-Sales Plan in Quantity and Revenue terms. Here we have to set  different Plan Layouts for Quantities and Revenues. After successfully uploading the data file,  we have to transfer the Sales Plan data to SOP in T-code-KE1E.  Then We can check the values by Co Code, Plant, Product-wise and Customer  in T-code KE25-Display Plan line items.

  • Activity Type Planning, Cost Center Planning

    Hi Friends,
I am learning SAP Controlling. I have few doubts.
    1. Activity Type planning (or) Activity Dependent Planning (Cost Center +Activity
       type) both are same.
    2. Cost Center Planning (or) Activity Independent Planning (Cost Center + Cost
Element +Activity type) both are same.
    Thanks,
    Rams.N

Activity Planning and Cost planning are different. The first in quantity planning, while Cost planning is Dollar Planning.
While planning cost ($), you can mention, if such cost is activity dependent or not.
The purpose is to derive an actitivity price. This is derived by dividing, the cost by the activity quantity. If a cost center has more than one activity, then the cost need to be associated with the activity. This is where we require to identify, if a cost is activity dependent or not. When you mark a cost as  an activity dependent, that cost is fully cosidered while deriving the associated activity price.
The activity independent cost are split amongst activities to derive the price for each activity. This step is done before the activity prices are computed.

  • Plant maintenance costing

Dear all i was trying to create a report for counter based maintenance plant coasting so i was trying to know from where each field looks to get its data
and what is the equation it used to calculate the quantity

    Hi Hafez,
The question is not clear to us.
pls provide clear view of the following things:
    1. Whether you wish to view cost of counter based maintenance plan or maintenance cost plant wise.?
    2. You wish to view actual cost or planned cost.?
    3. you wish to know tables to create a new report ?
    thanks

  • Adding HINTS produce a cost based plan ?

I have an SQL with Oracle Hints. If I do an explain plan report on this SQL, there is data under Rows, Bytes and Cost. If I remove the hints from the SQL, the explain plan has no data under rows, bytes, cost and a note: rule based optimization.
If I compute statistics on one of the tables used by the SQL, using ANALYSE TABLE as recommended, then I have a third explain plan, with data under rows, bytes and cost.
So how, in the absence of statistics, can Hints help produce a cost based plan ?

When you provide hints in the SQL statments you typically are controlling the execution path and the nature of join that SQL statment is choosing. This can give you good results or can slow down performance of your query as the time passes and database is subjected to changes.
If on the other hand you choose COST based optimization and collect statistics as recommended by Oracle then you make optimizer think instead of your self which yealds competative performance when you let optimizer engine decide the execution plan. So If i where you would think of performing following tasks.
1)Collect the statistics for all the tables and indexes refrenced in the SQL statment.
2)Set the optimizer goal to choose.
    3) Vary the optimizer sampling size while collecting the statistics using ANALYZE command. In the past I have noticed that optimizer behavior will change as per the sampling so you might have to adjest your stats while using ANALYZE command to fine tune the behavior of SQL statment.
4)This should improve performance of your query.

  • Unable to copy Actual cost to Planned cost via CJ9CS

I am trying to copy actual cost to planned cost for secondary cost elements via CJ9CS; currently there is a variance.
How can I match my planned cost with the actual cost.
We have already applied OSS note 304119 and we are on ver. 4.7.
Has any one used enhancement COOMKPT4 and function exit EXIT_SAPMKPT4_010 Or is there any other way to copy the actual cost to the planned cost?
    Thanks
    Amit

    Hi Sudhir,
    Thanks for the quick reply.
CJEN won't work for us, we are trying to find a way to fix CJ9CS.
When we do CJ9CS the price is getting copied over from the price defined in KP26 instead of the Actual price.
We have to find a way for the system to disregard the plan price while copying and just take the actual price.
Any clues how we can do that?
    Regards
    Amit

  • Service Order Planned Costs and Cost Center Planned Line Items

    Experts,
I am curious of Service Order Planned costs, and whether or not these planned costs are being posted to the Cost Center linked to the Service Order Operation's work center.
I am a but puzzled as I don't see any planned costs from any Service Order Operation in a cost center linked to the Operations work center, when reviewing "Cost Centers: Plan Line Items" report.
    BR,
    Cenk

The planned costs were input in one of the Service Order operations as planned hours. There is a column for it in the operations list. The amount of hours have incurred a planned cost on the Service Order header.
I simply assumed that this cost would be credited to the Cost Center linked to the operation's Work Center. But that is obviously not the case. I am not familiar with the PLICC field and the functionality it provides.
    Thanks!

  • Plant and Cost Center are not displaying in FI doc. for asset scrap ABAVN.

    Hi All,
When we do asset retirement by Scraping using Transaction Code ABAVN, Plant and Cost center are not appearing in the FI document. But, in the master data the Plant and Cost center are assigned for the particular Asset.
When I see the FI document display, the fields Cost Center and Plant are blank.  Business Area and Profit Center fields are getting updated.
Can any one help me how to get this Plant and Cost Center in the posted document.  Is there any OSS notes for this.  I am using ECC 6.0 version.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    Rajesh
    Aditional on me answer.
The systemtakes not the cost center from the asset you have to assign it in OKB9 or to fill in during this posting:
    Steps
Click on Simulate, than you see the posting screen:
Click on the line (pk 40)
Click on Goto and Additional account assignment and fill in the cost center whatu2019s in the master record of the asset and post
An other option is to make a substitution to get this information

  • Cost Centre Plan data not updating FAGLFLEXT

    Dear Experts,
In our production environment, our cost centre plan is not updating FAGLFLEXT table. Profit centre plan using GP12N is fine.
We are using the New GL and have FIN-CCA and FIN-PCA scenario activated.
Integrated planning is ticked in the planning versions for both Controlling and New GL Plan versions.
Controlling plan version and New GL plan version have the same name.
In table Controlling table COSP, I can see the plan data on business transaction type RKP1.
I expect to see it in FAGLFLEXT with RKP1 but I see no plan values at all.
In fact, in the previous 3 environments, we have not had this problem and cost centre plan and actual has updated FAGLFLEXT. Only in Production...
Any suggestions? Help if you can! Thanks alot,
    Deb

    Dear Ravi,
I don't think this is the problem.
    It seems that:
    - the CC plan was created -> it updated CO tables e.g. COSP -> no update to FAGLFLEXT
    - the CC plan was deleted -> it updated CO tables with negative value -> updated FALFLEXT with negative value
-the CC plan was update again -> it updated CO table -> updated FAGLFLEXT and balance with negative value is zero
    - the CC plan was deleted again -> it updated CO tabe with negative value -> FAGLFLEXT  is in minus value!
It seems like somewhere between first and second steps, the scenario FIN-CCA was not behaving like it was active!
Have you come across this before?
    Thanks!
    Debora
