CCM 4.1.3 DC Directory question

Hi,
I have a costumer that want read access to make a query to DC Directory to maintain adress book of his company intranet page updated whenever a new phone is added in CCM. These CCM is not integrated with AD.
How can we do these query to DC Directory?
Thanks
Best Regards,

Cisco IP SoftPhone can query the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) directory on Cisco CallManager with DC Directory. This document covers the setup of the Cisco IP SoftPhone Directory with anonymous users' rights so that you do not need to release a password for privileged users.

  • ISE 1.2 Active Directory Question

    Hi,
I have a question regarding using Active Directory as an External Identity Source.
Our customer has 4 AD servers in their domain and thus 4 DNS entries for the domain. When I join ISE to the domain DNS resolves to one address and uses that machine to perform the join operation. What happens if the machine subsequently fails - does my ISE node need to leave and then re-join the domain or is this handled by some other method?
    Thanks
    Alan

Assuming that they're part of the same AD domain ISE will learn all of the DCs in the domain and you'll likely find after a while that it has moved to a different DC. We have over 100 DCs in our domain and it works just fine, no intervention is required to get it to connect to a different DC if the one it's connected to disappears.

  • Call Manager 9.1 Active Directory Question(s)

    Hello All!
Firstly let me establish that I am not an administrator of our VoIP system however I do manage the Server side of our network.  We are in the process of planning an Active Directory upgrade and I'm having some difficulty getting a question answered about the requirements for  Call Manager.  We are at version 9.1 of Call Manager currently with our Active Directory version at 2003 R2.  We are planning to upgrade to Active Directory version 2008 R2 (functional level) however we would like to use Server 2012 R2 as the OS for our AD servers.  From a Microsoft standpoint this is a valid solution, it's built into Active Directory that you can run at different "functional levels" of AD on higher server operating systems.  Any Call Manager applications that require a Windows operating system would run on whatever works for that (2003 or 2008 etc).  Can we use Server 2012 R2 as the Domain Controller operating system while running at 2008 R2 functional level for Active Directory and still retain our Cisco support?

    Hi Allen,
This is from Cisco site (you already may have seen this), though it talk about the directory services but it is specifically mentioned 2008. 2012 may work and specially as you are saying with functional level set to 2008 shouldn't have any issues. But Cisco have not tested that and you may get into support issues (if any).
Its completely tested and supported with CUCM 10.X

    Configure LDAP directory
If you want to do so, you can add users from your corporate directory to the Cisco Unified Communications Manager database by synchronizing the user data to the database. Cisco Unified Communications Manager allows synchronization from the following directories to the database:
    Microsoft Active Directory 2000
    Microsoft Active Directory 2003
    Microsoft Active Directory 2008
Microsoft Active Directory Application Mode 2003
    Microsoft Lightweight Directory Services 2008

  • General Sun JES Directory Questions

I'm doing some research for a program at work. I have a few general questions that I hope someone knowledgeable about the Sun JES directory can answer.
    1. How does the Sun Directory control access to resources?
    2. How are groups formed and maintained?
    3. How does the whole access control scheme work?
I know these are very broad, but any info you can either provide me or direct me too will be greatly appreciated. I haven't had much luck researching this online. Thank you.

The Sun ONE Directory controls access to resources usually using aci's, which can be created at different branch points and allow differing permissions. This can also be done using RBAC (Role Based Access Control), where a role can be created, assigned to a user object and then aci's assigned to that role.
There is a chapter in the Administration Guide on permissions and setting them in the directory.
With regards Groups, there are two kinds, Static and Dynamic. Static Groups are defined by users creating them and then manually assigning user objects to them. Dynamic groups are created by LDAP searches which populate the groups based on an attribute or search criteria which links all the members.
You can set aci's to the branch points in the directory dependent on group membership if so required.
The chapter in the Admin guide which is about Access Control is:
    http://docs.sun.com/source/816-6698-10/aci.html
If you have any further questions, please post them and im sure someone will respond.
    Thanks

  • Integrating standalone OC with existing 3rd party LDAP directory question

    Hello everyone,
we have a standalone version 9 Oracle Calendar server with internal directory. We also have an existing enterprise wide LDAP directory. We would like to integrate them together, with as few changes to our existing LDAP schema as possible. Has anyone dealt with this issue before? Are there any documents out there describing how to deal with such situation? What if we upgrade to OC version 10 first?
    Thanks

    Migration might be tricky -
We've been running Calendar since the Netscape era with external LDAP. Basically user's preferences are stored in LDAP, though these can be 'regenerated' on the fly by the client using defaults.
You will need to modify the schema, but it's simply as loading the supplied schema file.
Data itself is still maintained in the internal DB. The link between the DB and LDAP is done via the calendar ID number which gets stored in the user's entry in ldap.
I don't think it would matter on upgrading OC to 10 or not, since the upgrade would not modify anything on the LDAP side (schema has not changed).
You should set up a test environment and test it out...

  • Convergence - corporate directory questions

We need Convergence to search an external corporate directory. Our external directory is populated by a more authoritative database, and the data is sanitized to not contain restricted (FERPA) data.
    1. When will support for an external corporate directory be added to Convergence?
    2. How do you disable the default option to search the Corporate Directory? We can't allow users to search the backend ldap server, and it is misleading to have it present in the interface.
    3. Ideally, we want this to be configured on a per domain basis, since some of our domains will need to search a different corporate directory. Will there be a way to add dojo customizations to change which directory(s) will be searched?

    1. When will support for an external corporate directory be added to Convergence? You can achieve this already e.g.
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.corpdir.[default].ldaphost -v "remoteldap.domain.com"
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.corpdir.[default].ldapport -v 389
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.corpdir.[default].ldapbinddn -v 'cn=Directory Manager'
./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.corpdir.[default].ldapbindcred -v 'password'Side Note: I just logged a new bug with regards to attempting to configure a failover ldaphost system using the steps above -- a single ldaphost does work however:
bug #6825805 - "Failover corporate LDAP server not configurable"
    2. How do you disable the default option to search the Corporate Directory? We can't allow users to search the backend ldap server, and it is misleading to have it present in the interface. There is an option to enable/disable the Corporate Address-book, unfortunately it doesn't work, at least not in my pre-release patch -07 test installation:
./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.corpdir.[default].enable -v falsebug #6825820 - "Disabling Corporate Directory causes Convergence to hang during loading of interface"
    3. Ideally, we want this to be configured on a per domain basis, since some of our domains will need to search a different corporate directory. Will there be a way to add dojo customizations to change which directory(s) will be searched? It is already possible to configure per-domain settings for corporate/personal addressbooks. For example I created a new domain (another.domain.com) and set the following:
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.{another.domain.com}.psrootpattern -v 'ldap:///piPStoreOwner=%U,o=%D,o=PiServerDb'
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.{another.domain.com}.pstore.defaultserver -v domainid1
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.{another.domain.com}.pstore.[domainid1].ldaphost -v remoteldap.domain.com
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.{another.domain.com}.pstore.[domainid1].ldapport -v 389
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.{another.domain.com}.pstore.[domainid1].ldapbinddn -v "cn=Directory Manager"
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.{another.domain.com}.pstore.[domainid1].ldapbindcred -v password
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.{another.domain.com}.maxpagedsearch -v 10
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.{another.domain.com}.corpdir.[corpdomainid1].urlmatch -v ldap://corp-directory1
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.{another.domain.com}.corpdir.[corpdomainid1].searchattr -v 'entry/displayname,@uid'
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.{another.domain.com}.corpdir.[corpdomainid1].lookthrulimit -v 3000
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.{another.domain.com}.corpdir.[corpdomainid1].ldaphost -v remoteldap.domain.com
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.{another.domain.com}.corpdir.[corpdomainid1].ldapport -v 389
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.{another.domain.com}.corpdir.[corpdomainid1].ldapbinddn -v "cn=Directory Manager"
    ./iwcadmin -w password -o ab.{another.domain.com}.corpdir.[corpdomainid1].ldapbindcred -v passwordThe options above are described here:

  • Custom Directory service

    Hi everyone,
I've been trying to create a custom directory service, that would allow me to search the directory using the first name or last name, but only among certain users, eg. those who have "dep1" written in their department field. Is that possible? I tried using the LDAPSearch component, but it doesn't seem to provide the functionality that I need.
Also, I noticed that in the default directory service "UMX.UMDefaultProviderX" is used instead of LDAPSearch, though I didn't manage to find any documentation on that one. Any information on that component would also be really helpful.
    Thank you,
    Cheers,
    Victor

    Hi Paul,
I've got another question for you ~ I'm able to pull the department info out of the DC Directory, though when I try to display the results, I get a parser error on the phone.
I know that it has to do with the fact that only "Telephone" and "Name" are defined as extensions for the CiscoIPPhoneDirectoryEntryType object, and I tried using a field called "Department". So how can I get the phone to display something that isn't defined in the schema?
If I query the CCM from a browser the directory entry comes back fine with the appropriate DepartmentNumber as configured from the CCM Admin Global Directory, though I just don't know how to get it to display it on the phone ... Any ideas?
I've attached my xmldirectorylist.asp file for reference.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Meeting Place Directories service question

I have just deployed a new Meeting Place 8.0 with LDAP integration.
I have created the LDAP in CCM, and also create the directory services in Meeting Place.
However, when I checked the option "Update Now", it returns with the error

  • Checking PIN code on CCM 4.x

    Hello,
do someone knows where the PIN code is stored in CCM 4.x (in DC Directory I presume). The password is store hashed in LDAP but I did not found the pin code.
Using authenticate.asp do not work in mobility mode as the user is not associated to an IP Phone.
(In CCM 5.x there is method in AXL to check PIN ...)

  • Ccm 4.1.3 : Extension mobility error [10]

    Hello,
CCM is integrated with Active Directory, passwords of CCMadministrator and CCMsysuser are syncronized.
When users try to login into extension mobility service they receive error [10] which is:
Proxy Authentication Not Allowed: the appID that is specified does not have rights to log in or log out other users.
I guess that appID is CCMSysUser here, so where could these right could possibly be turned on? I've tried looking in the attributes of CCMSysuser in Active Directory - no luck, nothing like proxy rights/auth found.

    No luck.
Tried reinstalling LDAP integration plugin, installation completed OK, but password fields of ccmadministrator and ccmsysuser in the CCM's regisrty became empty.
After putting there encrypted password (passwordutils.exe) and restarting IIS ADMin/TOmcat i receive error [10] again.
    Any suggestions please?..

  • CCMS and Reporting

    Hello Experts,
I am very new to CCMS. We are developing a java web application around CCMS and displaying SAP CCMS data in well defined and organized manner mainly suitable and useful for non-sap users.
To fetch data from SAP CCMS monitors we are using system BAPIs.
My question : - Is there any reporting tool or section inside CCMS? we need to display reports in our application. Or is there any alternative ??
    Please guide!!!

    Hi  Divya,
    Thanks for your valuable help!!!!.
I have created couple of graphs using CCMS CPH.
I have another question regarding this. Can we access our created reports from other application such as JAVA application or any other. Can we access the same using system BAPI/ RFC or Is their any interface to access the reports created by CPH??

  • Cannot register MGCP gateway to CCM 4.1

    Hello,
I am running an application which simulates a MGCP gateway vs. a real CCM 4.1. I am not able to register the endpoints as you can see from the snapshot attached. I guess the problems lies in the 200 response to the following AUEP:
    AUEP 89 AALN/S0/SU0/[email protected] MGCP 0.1
    F: X+SRTP/A
    200 89 OK
    X: 2
    L: p:20, a:PCMU, b:64, e:ON, s:ON
I have also attached the trace file and CCM logs.
I have 2 questions on this matter:
what is the correct format of the 200 message which needs to be sent to AUEP with SRTP?
how can I configure CCM not to sent this AUEP with SRTP(I have a similar one in my setup which is not sending this AUEP)?
Thanks in advanced for you support,

  • The Long Road to building a 10.3 Server... could use Tips!

I recently acquired a copy of 10.3 Server (legal, new in package...) Unlimited license.
    Quick background on my environment;
I'm the school computer guy for a K-8 school, and do the same job for another school a few hours a week.
Been working with Macs for 15 years... a fair amount of general experience with OS X, but very little with the Unix innards.
Here at my "main" school we have an old AppleShare 6.3 Server, Doing file serving only.
20 or so teachers and admin users, one "everyone" type account for Students (separate sharepoint for the student folders).
Client machines here are about 140 Macs (from iMac G3 to eMac G4 mostly), and 3 PC's with WinXP. All Macs are runnning 10.3.7 to 10.3.9.
I'm faced with wanting to "build" a new server (hardware and software) from leftover parts. The only budget for this project will be out of my own pocket (and they don't pay me real good). This is 98% for my own education and experience.. and 2% to move the school into the 21st century.
I have a G4 Gigabit Ethernet model, two Seagate 300Gb HD's, assorted RAM and smaller HD's to play with, and precious little else (I kinda finagled the 300Gb HD's by adding them to an order...). Figuring on making one the "primary" drive and the other a periodic backup (also considering a mirror-RAID, haven't decided).
    I could use some tips...
    How difficult, on a scale of 1 to 10, is setting up the following services in 10.3 Server;
Basic File Serving (my first goal...)
A NetBoot image/images? (my second goal...)
Other internet, web, and printing services are lower on my priority list.. ones I'll delve into later.
Server Hosted Home Folders/User Accounts (Intrigued by the idea, no idea if I'd use it).
Our internet service and DNS service is provided by our county office of Edu through a router and T1 line to the County Schools WAN. Firewall and security is handled by them. (not that I don't want to learn more than I know... but it's NOT a priority).
Naturally, I'll start by reading the documentation... but I'd appreciate any tips on OTHER reading material, or practical pitfalls if anyone has dealt with a simillar environment (and I know I may have left out details...).
    Some direction is appreciated!
    Paul F.

The hardware you have is certainly up to the task, so that's a good start.
After the basic install, setting up basic file sharing is no harder than a few mouse clicks - open Workgroup Manager, select 'Sharing', choose a folder to share, and define which protocols to share it via (AFP, NFS, SMB, FTP), and you're mostly done.
However, there's more to it than that, especially in a school environment. You'll need to consider user accounts (I'm guessing you don't want every file to be accessible to every user, including students), so you need to setup accounts, usernames, passwords, etc.
Now if your school already has a directory server of some description you may be able to integrate this server into that directory. If not you'll need to setup a series of accounts for the various users.
As for the other elements, NetBoot is a little trickier (OK, a lot trickier). You need to create an image (or series of images) for the different machines you'll be booting. It's not that hard to do, but it is time consuming.
The web serving and printer serving parts are pretty straightforward, too - a few clicks in Server Admin for each of them (other than creating the web content, of course).
The whole network home directory question can't be answered without knowing more about your directory. If there's an external directory already running in your network it's unlikely that you'll be able to use network home directories since you'll need to edit the directory in order to configure the home directory, and it doesn't sound like you have the keys to that.
If there isn't an existing directory and you're creating one on this machine then it's not a big problem. You'll define a directory on the server as being a valid home directory root, then as you create the user accounts you simply identify the share point where their home directory is located - the rest is automatic.
So none of what's on your list is a big problem. You haven't yet ventured out past the GUI admin tools that Apple supplies, and that's where it starts to get hairy.

  • Email client problems. Emails stored in my saved folders are missing? What gives?

I've lost all my "saved" emails in my folders?! (Mac email client) The folders are there, the contents are gone!

I would also like to know about the company directory question.
Is it just really well hidden, or actually not present.
If not present, when will i be available?
In general, I'm also missing a feature to enable a full sync/indexing localy on the phone.
Todays phones has tonns of memory and CPU power, and for the user to have the phone look up the calling party directly is verry time saving. Also being able to quickly identify missed and/or placed calls is verry usefull.
