Censored posts for made-up terms of use???

Can anyone tell me why my question about an apparent alteration and attempted deletion of personal user data following a snow leopard install violates this forum's Terms of Use?
Despite the first stated reason for censorship in the email below, there was NO discussion of unauthorized modification of Apple Products in my question.
My two deleted posts ONLY had questions about an unauthorized modification of personal User Data.
In addition the second post involved, although containing similar information, was most certainly NOT a duplicate.
This second post on this subject happened after I learned that Time Machine, by default, wouldn't ordinarily back-up this user data. It therefore had NO reference to potential issues with Time Machine and was posted in a more relevant topic area.
It was most definitely NOT a duplicate posting. I would have happily agreed to a removal of the first post on this subject since it was no longer relevant to that topic area.
I'd like to mainly understand why a question about data corruption and attempted deletion of user files isn't permissible here. (The duplicate posting excuse for deleting these is a fall-back/smoke-screen imho.)
Also I do have a need to publicly state how disappointed I am with Apple in the way such posts disappear. This is my first experience with Apple censoring information, but I've seen better moderation practices on amateur/not-for-profit run message-boards. For example, I have NO way of knowing whether modular747 is a moderator or not. So all users get is an email by an individual who seem appear to understand the post (let alone the Terms of Use**) and BANG, posts are deleted without even an email to that effect....really?
Really? Is this is the same Apple who has given me great customer service and has treated me as a reasonable human being, and consequentially a good repeat customer, with virtually every prior interaction I've had?
Not really expecting anything positive from this post - hopefully stimulate internal thinking within the moderators/Apple about how their actions impact their customers. But I fear Apple may already have grown too big for that.

Apparently you missed the forum Terms of Use rules prohibiting discussion of unauthorized modifications of Apple products ("custom firmware") as well as duplicate posting.

No, it's not. It it were, then Sun really would bought Apple for a song in 1995. Apple provides products and services you can't get anywhere else.
I may have no influence here, but I do make the buying decisions for my home and my company, and my experiences here have had a negative impact on my feelings about Apple in general.
You know, it's just a job. The moderators have a list of things they censor or moderate if someone complains about them. I don't know why you feel abused or insulted, but it certainly isn't personal. The moderators are just doing their jobs. Other member are just trying to help. If someone says something wrong, unfair, silly, or illogical, they are going to get called on it. That's just life in the free world.

    Got an email that I thought might have been someone phishing, so I forwarded it to Skype.  Turns out it's legit!  They are cancelling my account for violating the terms of use and when I wrote them back they didn't give me a straight answer as to what I did that caused the problem.  They put in bold "sharing subscriptions between users whether by PBX, call center or computer or any other means" so I assume that is what they are claiming I did, but for life of me I don't have a clue as what they are talking about.  Anyone else have this problem?  They say my subscription and credit will cancelled in 48 hours and no refund will be given.

    The Flash media server development server is fully functional (except for the quantitative restrictions like max limit of number of connections to 10 etc), and is equivalent in quality to all other flavors.
    The developement server is generally meant for developmental and testing purposes though i think within the limit of connections etc, there should not be any problem with its usage. you can cross check/confirm from the EULA always, when in doubt.

    ich nutze seit ein par Tagen DreamWeaver 6 um Smartphone-Apps mit PhoneGap zu bauen. Die letzten Tage gab es dabei auch keine Probleme. Auch nicht beim direkten Weg über build.phonegap.com. Seit heute bekomme ich allerdings die Fehlermeldung:
    The Adobe ID terms of use for your account have been updated. Please go to adobe.com to accept the terms of use.
    Ich bin ja auch grundsätzlich bereit die neuen Nutzungsbedingungen zu akzeptieren, aber ich finde nicht die Stelle, an der ich den entsprechenden Haken setzen kann. Und ich habe schon eine kleine Weile gesucht!
    Auf der Site build.phonegap.com kann ich mich bei gleicher Fehlermeldung ebenfalls nicht mehr einloggen.
    DreamWeaver ist bezahlt, registriert und alles was dazu gehört...
    Weiß jemand Rat?

    ich erweiter mal meine Frage: Bin ich der Einzige, der dieses Problem hat? Könnt ihr euch noch bei build.phonegap.com einloggen oder aus dw6 heraus einen build starten, oder ist das mein individuelles problem?
    Ich habe inzwischen drei mal mit der deutschen Support-Hotline telephoniert. Die wissen auch nicht weiter und verweisen mich an eine Telefonnummer in den USA. Unter der Nummer erreiche ich allerdings niemanden. Dafür habe ich einen Chat-Support in den USA erreicht. Die können mir auch nicht helfen und verweisen mich wiederum an die deutsche Hotline. Der Hinweis, dass die mir auch nicht helfen ging ins leere. Das ist zum heulen!
    Eine Mail an [email protected] ist raus, aber bisher auch ohne Ergebnis.
    Ich poste meine Frage jetzt nochmal im englischen Forum...

  • The License / Terms of Use for CC - Is there A Summary Somewhere?

    To my chagrin, I notice the license agreement for CC appears to be about 3 pages, until you look carefully and notice that the agreement includes 13 additional agreements EACH OF WHICH takes precedence over the "CC General Terms".  And moreover, some of the agreements are in PDF only format and without using Acrobat on my Chrome browser only showed the FRENCH version.
    So I'm betting the following:
    Nobody (except perhaps Adobe lawyers) have read the ENTIRE agreement and can understand it.
    Because the agreement is so convoluted, it may be impossible for Adobe to argue in court that it ever
    So back to my question... has anybody written or know where I can find a reasonable summary of the terms?  I'm particularly confused because it's not clear how many of the 13 "included and preemptory" documents may apply.  I grabbed (I think) all the included content... it's 3,200 lines with a lot of repetition, and some outright contradictions.

    I just got an automated email welcoming me to Creative Cloud (a full month after I had started the process). I have never agreed to the T&C's and never checked a box indicating that I did. It's really hard to agree to the rats nest of conditions most of which seem to have absolutely nothing to do with anything I plan to use or even KNOW about (PhoneGap Build?, Adobe Translator??, EchoSign???)
    Because of the email, I did a bit more digging. The "Phone Gap Build" says item 3 is a supplement to item 9.5... but there is NO item 9.5 in the general terms.
    On an extremely amusing side note, searching http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/search/index.cfm for "Creative Cloud Terms and Conditions" nets this:

  • Terms of Use continually asking for agreement.

    Nearly every time I open a Creative Cloud program I am asked to agree to the terms of use. This seems quite redundant, and, while I am still able to use the programs, it is quite annoying to have to keep clicking "I Agree".
    If anyone else is having this problem I can understand it being a while for a fix, but if it is only me I would like to know why this is happening to my account.
    Just so all the details are given, I am using an ASUS G46VW running Windows 8. The main applications I use are Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop.

    What is the standard SAP entrance back to E-recruiting from an external job posting site? We have sent our job postings to an external web site vender (Monster) to be posted for candidates to review. On the review page at Monster is the Apply Now button for a particular job. When the candidate clicks the Apply Now button, we would like the job detail to show within E-recruiting for the reference code of the job posted. Otherwise, the candidate has to repeat the job search within E-recruiting to get to the referenced details. Currently, we have a custom enhancement to populate the reference code (parsing it from the URL) to the Job Search page so at least the candidate can click one more time on the search button and the details display. Is there a standard page or better way to get to the job details in E-recruiting without custom enhancements coming from the external job posting web site?

    Hello Cindy,
    this is not very difficult and completly possible within the standard application functions. As you show all position data already in the page of the job board (like Monster) you use a link which dirctly referes the applicant to the page where he enters name and mail-address to apply for the job (if he like to see the postion instance again this page do includes a link to the data overview).
    The link you use is the same link used in the "request for application" correspondence with which you can request a candidate youidentified in your talent pool to apply for a position.
    The link should be available directly if you use the XI integration scenario but can be created very easily. Only 2 things to know:
    - do you use the standard posting channel ID 0002 for external postings or have you confiqured a custom posting channel for posting at monster
    - how do you get the job information to the monster guys. As you wrote you do not use the XI integration, so have you created a customer own publisher to dump all information to a share where monster is reading it automatically or do you maintain the publications by hand?
    If you could give me this information i'll post the easiest way to get the link.

    Possibly because dropbox is not really a proper webhost - it might be better if you went and signed up for proper web hosting from somewhere like http://www.godaddy.com or http://www.hostexcellence.com.
    Have you told Google that you site exists?  If not, then you need to do so - http://www.google.com/addurl.

    I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
    At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
    The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
    I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
    You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
