CF 7 - W2K3 - Console window open

Hi Everyone,
I upgraded the memory on my server last night and noticed
that when I plugged in a monitor to the system and logged in there
is a JRun console window open. When I RDP from remote its not
there. Is this normal for MX7 or is it in a debug mode or something
like that? I am trying to chase down performance issues with page
rendering and was wondering if perhaps the server is in some sort
of debug mode.
I am using Flash Forms heavily and some of the pages are
quite sluggish when loading. It is hard for me to determine if the
performance issue is due to the recompilation of Flash Forms or if
the server is in some sort of debug mode which may be slowing it
down.
Please let me know your thoughts and thank you in advance
for your assistance!
Take Care,
Ed

Check the Macromedia ColdFusion Server service and make sure
"interact with desktop" is unchecked.
You wouldn't see this window when you RDP in because that is
a virtual session, seperate from the console.
You might also want to make sure someone isn't starting the
service manually using the jrun.exe command.

  • Unable to open a seperate java console window with javascript:window.open()

    Hi All,
I am opening a new window using javascript:window.open() function by clicking an hyperlink in a html document. In this new windows I am trying to load an applet. Only for the first time a java console window is displayed in windows system tray . How can I open a different java console window each time I open a new window ? Basically I want to run each applet in its own JVM and it seems that each applet loaded in new window is using the same JVM and hence only one java console window is seen in my system tray.
    Please help ...
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ravi.

    Hi,

  • Console Application to run with window open

    Hi Guys
I have a Console Application that I wrote and it working perfectly when I run it manually. It can create report using Crystal Reports, exports to PDF and then print.
My challenge was when I ran it as a task, the reports are created but its not printing, my default PDF view is Adobe.
How can I run my app with the Window open because I think that's causing it not to print
    Brian

After doing some searches it turned out the issue I had was with Adobe Reader XI, when run from Task Manager it always gives problems so.
I ended up using PDF XChange Viewer for printing and I can now print my PDFs with no Windows popoing up. I installed the free Viewer and call it from my code to print.
    Process.Start("C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF Viewer\pdfxcview.exe", " /print:printer=""" & PrinterName & """ """ & pdfFileName & """")

  • Opening a console window with NetBeans?

I'm curious if anyone knows a solution on opening a console window when executing within a Netbeans project? I searched the help docs and the web and I have not come across much luck. The source code I have requires it and it just looks horrible in the output window Netbeans provides. Any help would be appreciated.

    I think this is it...

  • I am unable to open another Firefox4 window when I have the Error Console open and I can't open the Error Console when I have two Firefox4 windows open. Is anyone else having this problem?

I am trying to debug the jQuery to a micro site I've created and I am unable to open the Error Console when I have two Firefox windows open and I am unable to open a second Firefox window when I have the Error Console open.
I am using Mac OS X 10.6.7 and I am using Firefox 4.0.1

I personally haven't experienced much of the "reverberation/feedback" when using a headset on the i4S...
Yes, I have near-perfect hearing too (for scope, squeaky brakes hurt my ears) I come from many conversations on many phones and types and first off, CDMA technology is great for coverage, terrible for voice quality. HD Voice in Europe made for some of the best phone conversations I've ever had.
Back on track, feedback is most noticable (similar to the landline phone) when using the iPhone without a headset, but for me it's not an absolute criticality mainly because I use VoIP apps alot, so maybe it has desensitized me some over the past year.
But whenever I'm on a call, and the other person has me on speakerphone, I have alot of trouble talking because of the feedback loop caused. So the less of my voice I hear the better I can talk.
Have you tried a bluetooth headset yet?

  • Open dtpad from console window

I deal with several servers running Solaris 9 & 10. I work with these both locally and using Go Global. When I connect using Go Global with user name nmc, I can open text files from the console window for editing. However, if i login locally or do su - nmc during the Go Global session, i get the error dtpad not found. The environment variables are quite different between the nmc user during a Go Global session and the same user during a local login. To complicate matters further, most of the text files I need to edit are owned by the root user. I cannot use dtpad in any case with the root user.
Idealy, I would like to approach this within the console window and not permanently change any profiles. I thought it was due to the PATH variable not referencing /usr/dt/bin but when I used export PATH=$PATH:/usr/dt/bin and tried to open dtpad, i got the error indicating that the display could not open.

    Try:
    ssh -X nmc@localhost
    Then
    export PATH=$PATH:/usr/dt/bin
This is guarenteed to work; because the .profile setup on nmc might be a problem, as could certain ssh settings ... but worth a quick try.
(Please note this is slightly simpliflied and sometimes i misunderstand things and give stupid adice, but I suggest above is worth a quick try).
    Also
    echo "My display is: [ $DISPLAY ]"
    can be useful diagnostic.

  • Can't Copy text unless console is opened before applet with JTextField

If an applet uses JTextFields, it is impossible to copy text from the console to the clipboard (or anywhere else) if the console is opened after the applet.
See http://demo.capmon.dk/~pvm/nocopy/nocopy.html for a working applet with source and class file to try it out on...
So if something bad has happened, and there are hints in the console e.g. a stack trace, it all has to be retyped by hand, since all Copy or export is impossible...
Does anyone know of a workaround for this? I'd like to be able to e.g. copy stack traces to bug reports.
    Try these test cases:
    * Close all browser windows. Open a browser and visit this page. After the page with this applet has loaded, then open the console with "Tools/Sun Java Console" (or "Tools/Web Development/Java Console" in Mozilla). Select some text in the console. There is no way to put this text on the clipboard; the "Copy" button doesn't work, and neither does CTRL+Insert, CTRL+C or anything else.
    * Close all browser windows. Open a browser window no some non-java page and then open the console with "Tools/Sun Java Console" (or "Tools/Web Development/Java Console" in Mozilla). Then visit this page. Select some text in the console. Now the "Copy" button does work, enabling "export" of e.g. stack traces to other applicaitons e.g. email.
The difference is which is opened first: The console or the applet. If you look at the very rudimentary Java source code, it is the mere creation of a JTextField is what disables or breaks the Copy functionality.
I've tried this on Windows XP with IE 6.0 and Mozilla 1.3 and they behave exactly the same. The JVM is Sun's 1.4.2 and I've tried 1.4.1_02 also with the same behavior. I've also tried javac from both 1.4.2 and 1.4.1_01

hey .. this seems like a bug.. can you please file a bug at
    http://java.sun.com/webapps/bugreport
    thanks...

  • When I have two browser windows open, the first with multiple tabs the second a window opened from a link (so just one tab), and close the second window, I receive the Quit Firefox prompt, "do you want to save tabs...?"

This was happening with FF 3 before upgrading to 4, and was not happening with FF4.0 until the 4.0.1 update was applied, the first time it ran. Same issue on another computer running FF3, so may be a extension related problem.
If I have three windows open and close the third, I do Not get this. Only when two are opened and one is closed. I could have three, close one, then the second and get the prompt.

And that batch file won't return until the java process has completed because he didn't start it in the background to let the batch file continue and terminate.
So I don't think just simply substituting java with javaw will do much good either. Still think he needs a "start" command in that batch file.
    So now he can try:
    start java -jar ...
    or
    start javaw -jar ...Fair point

  • Windows not showing. Page source and library windows open but not showing.

I select View --> Page Source and no window appears. Under the Window menu, the item Source: . . . shows but no window. If I close the main window then the item is ticked but still no actual window.
I have disable all extensions and plugins, safe mode, revert all preferences.
the same happens with Show all Bookmarks. This is why I posted this under bookmarks problems originally - see below.
I now find the same happens to downloads and Error console windows. No problems in Safari or MS Word (usually the worst performer)
Bookmarks are all present, but show all bookmarks produces no window, even though the window menu shows an item and I can select it.
Mac OS 10.6.8 FF 5.01 Show all bookmarks shows no window, even if I close the main window. Under window menu the 'Library' item is ticked but still nothing. I have restarted, and renamed places database. recently installed some of these addons

The one that solved it was my own last post, which does not have a Solved it.
I copied the FF profile folder from another login and started with that.
However. . . the problem is back. I installed extensions, NoScript and MyBookmarks and it seemed OK after that.
Then I installed Download Youtube videos + 3.3.51, then DownThemAll! 2.0.7, Google Shortcuts 2.1..6, ImTranslator, QuickWiki and Read It later. No Plugins ennabled.
when I disable all extensions then the windows for downloads, error console and 'open link in new window appear OK, but not the source or Library windows.
As before they are on the window menu but no way to make them visible.

  • Window.opener doesn't work

I have a website that seems to have just broken with the 18 or 18.0.1 release. The specific code that is breaking is a call to window.opener.
The error I see in the console says: TypeError: window.opener.Assignments is undefined
I checked this with IE and FF on our test servers as well as our comparison server (runs last releases version of the code) and they all have the same problem so it's not something that changed in our codebase.
Can anyone tell me why there are javascript errors on calls to window.opener with the latest release and how I can work around this?

I think I found the answer to my own question. In case anyone stumbles on this and it's useful.
I think the problem was that the code was calling window.opener.form when it appears in firefox you have to call window.opener.document.form. Since both work in FF and IE and since it seems there are only a few places in the code where we aren't calling window.opener.document I'll just update the code to do that.

  • Window.open() will open separated windows even using the same window name?

Hi, I have below two test html pages as below(could not find a way to insert a attachment, so paste the content below). The reproduce step is as below: (My environment is Win8.1 with IE11)
    1. Open print_test.html page in IE, here we call page1.
    2. Click "File -> New Session" menu from IE menu bar, which will open another new IE window which display another " print_test.html" page, here we call page 2.
    3. Click "Print" hyper-link in page1, and a popup window which display "print_test_open.html" page, counting begins from 1, here we call it page 3.
    4. Click "Print" hyper-link in page2, and another popup window which display "print_test_open.html" page, counting begins from 1, here we call it page 4.
However, the behavior above is totally different on my Win7 (64 bit) with IE 10, which is in step 4, when I click "Print" hyper-link in page2, instead of open a new popup window, the window for page 3 will be reused and counting will restart from
    1.
I googled and know from MDN for window.open() and get below information to indicate that in my test pages, I use the same window name, so that the existed window with the same name will be reused is as expected, but however, why IE behave differently in
Win8.1 with IE 11? Why the existed window could not be reused anymore?
If a window with the name strWindowName already exists, then, instead of opening a new window, strUrl is loaded into the existing window. In this case the return value of the method is the existing window.
The behavior in Win8.1 + IE 11 is similar with what Google Chrome does, and Chrome's explanation is that two separated window using separated processes which do no share information, so that even using the same window name. twp separated windows will
popup.. So I am confused here, IE 10 and IE 11 are both using multi-process mechanism right? I saw from the Windows Task Manager, when using "File -> New Session" to open another print_test.html page in step 2. both IE 10 and IE 11 are opening
4 iexplore.exe processes, two of them are 64 bit, and two of them are 32 bit. I can't see any configuration difference between these two envs, but why the behavior is so different?
Could anyone give some help and clarify here? Great thanks in advance.
Oh, btw, another colleague can reproduce the issue (open separated windows even using the same window name) in his Win7 64 bit with IE 10 env, but could not reproduce in his Win 32 bit with IE 10 env... Hope this information could also do help.

  • Console window is not showing

    Hi fellows,
Today I found a problem with my built in console in Mac OS X Mavericks.
The problem happens randomly. I'll explain it in steps.
    1. Click on the console icon - the console opens.
    2. From the menu - Console/Quit Console - the console closes.
    3. Click on the console icon - the console starts - but no window is displayed. There is mark under the icon, showing the the program is active, the top menus are present, but no window is displayed.
    4. After several quits and restarts at some point the console window reapers and there is log message in the sys.log saying:

    Do a backup.
    Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.Console.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

  • How can I disable the console window shown by JWS on the client machine

    Hi,
When I open the JWS Application Manager, and go to File ->Preferences -> Advanced tab and select Show Java Console, it opens up a small window displaying all the error messages. I want that when a client downloads my JNLP application and selects this option he is not able to see the console window. How can I achieve this?
    Thanks,

You can check on the <b>about:config</b> page if the browser.urlbar.autocomplete.enabled pref is set to false if you want to disable the location bar drop down list.
