Change Sheet Name for Excel Report?

Hi,
When I create an Excel report out of BI Publisher, the sheet name always matches the file name. For example, if I save the file as test1.xls, when I open the spreadsheet, the sheet's name is "test1". I would like the sheet name to be different from the file name. It doesn't look like BI Publisher has an option for that specific need. So, I looked at the xls file in a text editor and noticed it was HTML...and I don't think there's something I could tweak in the HTML to make the sheet name differ from the file name...is there?
Any ideas for my problem?
Thanks...
Kevin

Hi Serguei
You will have to change the Excel sheet name manually after exporting the report.  You cannot retain the report name to the Excel sheet after exporting.

  • BEx formula change not working in existing Analysis for Olap/Analysis for Excel reports

    Hello all,
I posted this in Analysis for OLAP, but there has been no response so I'm hoping perhaps you BEx experts can help me.
I had to modify a formula in a Bex query to have it calculate the results of the formula by summation.
I checked the query using BEx Analyzer and it summed correctly.  If I create a new analysis for olap report, it sums correctly.
If I modify an existing report, it does not pick up the change.  Existing Analysis for Excel reports also do not pick up the new summary calculation.
Using the CMC, I edited the connection and reselected the Bex query, but that did not work either.
Here it is working in the query:
Line Discount is a formula with logic checking to see if "product list price total amount" is 0, set the line discount to 0; otherwise calculate it as "product list price total amount" - Net Sale.  So the total needs to sum of the line discounts (0+2820+2820 = 5640) and not be the Overall result "product list price total amount" - Overall Result "net sale" (13960-96720= -82760).
Here it is in an existing Webi report - working:
Here is what is happening in an existing Analysis for OLAP report - not working:
I also tried to unselect Line Discount as a key figure from the existing report and reselect it, but that did not work.
I'd like to find a solution so that all the reports that use this query won't have to be rewritten.
    I'm on BW 7.0 EP 1 SP 10 and BI 4.0 SP7 Patch 5.
    Thank you for your help,
    Susan

    Hi,
Apply Exception aggregation on line discount formula--Exception aggregation as Total---Reference characteristic as Promega product.
Make sure to refresh the webi report once after the changes has been done.
If this does not work then you can apply summation calculation for that column at webi level as well.

  • Editing the Query name for all reports in PRD.

    Dear All,
I have created 25 reports using Query Designer. We have moved all the reports to BI Production. And Clients are using these reports using the Tool Bex Analyser.
Every time they are navigating through open Query -> Info Areas -> Data targets and Query.
Instead of going this way, is there any other way to Open a query easily.
And they wants to modify the Report name and the Technical name for all the reports. Can we able to edit the Query name for all reports, or do i need to go for SAVE AS for all querys.
    Pls Suggest.
    Thanks,
    Ram

    Hi Ram,
    1. For the first question; if it user specific query then ask the users to save them at the FAVORITES so that there is no need to go to the dataprovider specific.
Or they can create the reports as favorites user menu screen of that particular user.
    2. In order to change the technical name and description of the queries goto RSZC t-code> give the source and target infoprovider as same> select queries>click on the reports>click on transfer selections-->
Then you get a screen to change the description and technical name.
But this is pertained to Infoprovider level.
You can see all the reports on the infoprovider (cube/ods).
    Hope you understood.

  • Define Logical Systems and Template Names for BW Reports

    Hi experts
I would like to know if someone used the mentioned functionality 'Define Logical Systems and Template Names for BW Reports, I would like to know too IF I create a Z REPORT for example in webdynpro and insert it in this configuration it will work and where it will appear in sourcing cockpit?
    sds.

    Hello Muthu,
BW reports will be shown in SRM Box if the corresponding BW roles for SRM are integrated with SRM roles.
You might to activate the corresponding datasource of this in SRM.
And since you have to connect the source system to BW, I think you have to define SRM system as logical system in BW.

  • Is it possible to change the name of a report thanks to the report painter

    Hello,
Is it possible to change the name of a report thanks to the report painter GRR2?
    Thanks!
    SB

    Hi,
First of all, it's possible to change a report description(title), if that what's you mean. If you want to change a code(name), then indeed you have to copy your report under a new name. To delete the report, first delete it from the report group (via GR52) and then you will be able to delete it.

  • CHGRDBDIRE change rdb name for new installation.

In the installation guide, SAP advices us to change the *LOCAL relational database name to match the hostname.
However, currently my system already has an  *LOCAL rdb name entry which follows the default machine/serial number name . The command using CHGRDBDIRE advised by SAP doesnt allow changing the name for *LOCAL entry.
The only method to change the name is to delete the default *LOCAL rdb name and recreate a new *LOCAL entry. Is it safe do to so ? IT contains the objects the QGPL and QTEMP schema now.

  • Changing Object Names for Burst Output in Financial Reporting

I can't quite figure out how to say this so I can't even search for the proper terms to get any pertinent results. I apologize if this has been answered recently.
In FR Batch Scheduler, I am exporting the reports as PDF to a specified folder. I am bursting the report with a department, however, it does not like to save files with spaces. Instead, FR replaces any spaces in the Object name with a plus "+" sign. Is there a way to change this to a different delimiter in the .properties files? Not sure which one.
    Thus:
Date is March 2nd, 2011 and Member name is "Physician Revenue"
    Object Label:
    <<Date(YYYYMMMDD)>>.<<MemberName()>>.IESUM
    PDF Output becomes
    2011Mar02.Physician+Revenue.IESUM.pdf
    Desired FileName output
    2011Mar02.Physician_Revenue.IESUM.pdf
    Thanks
    Eric

If this is the same issue I'm having, I've been working with Tech Support - they confirmed it as a bug the other day and the patch is done but it's not ready for us to have yet. They'll let me know when it's available for public use.
When bursting, the resulting PDFs have strange characters in the PDF name for many characters such as these that we use:
and probably "space", I'm not looking at it right now but yes this sounds like your issue too. Stay tuned.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
I think you are trying to print to a PDF printer.
In that case, it is the PDF Printer asking for the directory and filename to save the PDF file, not NI-Report.
NI-Report cannot save the report as a file by itself.
You need to find a PDF printer that has some kind of automation.
Personally I use BullZip PDF Printer that allows you to change the settings via command line parameters.

  • Table Interface for Excel report?

I have been working with the nice feature of MODIFY_TABLE in web tables. It is very usefull to alter the table to more specific needs.
Now my question: is there a possibility to modify classes so that you can adapt the table before it is shown in an excel sheet?
    Thank you in advance!
    Bart

    Hi Deepak,
I was already thinking in 'my solution': starting from an Excel workbook that opens a web report, searches the result table and transforms this table into the Excel sheet.
1° Opening an url in Excel.Tis is possible in Excel. So in worst case we have to use string operations to filter the result tabel in the web page and transform a html table into an Excel tabel.
2° Layout of the html table When we want the current status of the report (with drill down and things like that), we should first make a bookmark. Then we can use this bookmark as url to open the web page in Excel. -> layout and current drill status can be imported from HTML into Excel.
3° authorization. As the url will open a web page on the WAS server, the user will have to provide a username and password. So this problem is also 'solved' because the authentication is done by the server.
Concerning the "Print with Excel" method...
1° If I am right, changes made by JavaScript do not effect the exported Excel report as JavaScript is client side, so the server (the instance that generates the excel) is not aware of the changes made by JS. Right or do I forget something?
2° My biggest concern is the use of xslt in the html code. This is not very handy for people who are not familiar with html. Besides, not all the changes I make in the xslt have effect on the result (for example: when the printed table takes more than one table, the column headers are not repeated on every page, at least not in a dynamic way). But maybe it is a mistake from my side
When I would work with an Excel workbook that takes an url and creates the report itself by extracting the data, extra macro's could be added (I think this is not possible by using xslt or Office HTML)
Thank you for you comments Deepak!

  • Changing Step Name in XML Report programmaticaly

I am trying to change the step name programmaticaly in TestStand to reflect in the XML report. The step is executed several times in a loop, and every time the loop runs I want the step to be named differently in the XML report. For example, the names will be something like this < Test1: Signal Name 1>, <Test2: Signal Name 2> ....etc. Any help on this will be appreciated .
    Thanks,
    Sam

    Hi,
The best time to change the name is before you perform the test, then it will get inserted in the ResultList and hence into your report.
I have attached one way of doing this. You can also perform it after the Step you wish to change, in which case you would use the RunState.PreviousStep as a reference.
You could call the API method as part of your code.
Remeber, if you use a PropertyLoader to load Limits, and you have placed this inside the loop, then your Limits file for the Step Name must match the new step name not the old one that you see statically.
    This is a TS3.5 example.
    Hope this helps

  • Changing worksheet names in excel 2010

I recently switched from excel 2003 to 2010 usnig Oralce BI Add In
In 2003 I could change the names of the Worksheets and it would not cause an issue with the Oracle BI queries
In Excel 2010 if I change the name of a worksheet after I have created a query, then Oracle BI no longer recognizes the query as being on the Tab with the new name
Is there a way to change the TAB/Worksheet name with out it impacting the Oracle BI Query?
    Thanks
    PerryK

    Hello Lori,
I think that is possible :) one question - you want to merge those two worksheets into one pivottable report? That would be little more complicated.
If not, just try to put all your wanted columns into pivottable "row field" part - Excel won't treat the data as a calculation and will just display according to outline. One nice tip - you can always change the report layout from "compact
form" into "tabular form" (using - PivotTable Tools/Design/Report Layout). That would display the data in separate columns so you can filter easily.
Let me know, if it works :)
